It wa 16 here when I took Nicolas to school. brrrr....

We'll be 60 by the weekend. No wonder I stay all messed up!

Cammie - when we were at Mama Melrose last year, the family sitting next to us had ordered a bday cake and were leaving the next day so they didn't want to take it with them. They gave it to us! And it was yummy! And if you schedule it at an Epcot restaurant, or Yachtsman, you could run it back to your room. OR, give it to the nice hungry family sitting next to you!

Feeling MUCH better today - so much so that I HAVE to go to the gym tonight when Jeff gets home. I've been so bad lately. My problem is that I lose weight with stomach virus, then for the next two days I eat EVERYTHING!!!! So I end up gaining weight.

Cammie, we have been trying to schedule a day trip to Disney, so I'm really thinking about that Sunday you get in. I'll let you know as it gets closer. It will probably depend on whether or not Jeff is joining us in March, and the weather. It's been cold lately! HIgh of only 46 today and low in the teens tonight! But it usually starts warming up by mid-Feb, or so I've been told - only been here a year so I can't speak from experience. But I know last year I was at the pool in early March, so hopefully.....

Ooh Kara - I hope you and Ally can meet us. Lauren would be so excited! MK is open late that night - until 2 am. You can crash with us at SSR for the night, if you'd like - I have a studio and Lauren and I just had plans to sleep in on Monday (President's Day) and go to the pool if it's warm enough.

I have the birthday cake hotline #. Haven't called yet, but have looked at some cakes on the cake thread; some are so cute. So, tell me if I'm over-thinking this too much: I'm trying to choose the night to have the cake that would allow us to still have days to enjoy leftovers but would not be a pain to carry around with us after dinner. Should I just accept that we'll just have some at dinner and I'll leave it? Kara - I was thinking the Yachtsman also; that's our last night at SSR, so we'll probably just walk around the BW after dinner and go back to the room. But Lauren REALLY loves the dessert there, so then why have the cake too? Then I was thinking to have it at Fulton's on Monday night - the desserts there are just ok; it's not on the DDP, so dessert isn't included anyway, but we get those big snacks at Goofy's in DTD; do I really want to have the cake that night too? My last thought is our last night at LeCellier - it would be nice way to end our last night's dinner and then I would just leave the cake there.

I know - I'm worrying way too much about something so trivial. Thoughts, anyone?

Oh, Cammie I forgot it was Prez Day weekend!!!! I think we can come down on Sunday!!!! Yea! I don't know if Jeff will join us or not. But just tell me which park you'll be at on Sunday and we'll be there! Probably drive back that night, but we won't need to leave until around 7ish!

Nah, I am the one who over worries. ;) But you want it to be special. You do know that they'll bring her a lighted cupcake at each place - right? Even for breakfast. The thing was massive, I tell ya!

But if you want to order her a special cake, I'd put my vote in for Monday if you heard they are good. I'm wondering (bet they would) if you could leave the cake there and swing by and pick it up on your way out - wait... where is Fultons?

Mom is out of surgery, all went well, but she's gonna be in recovery for 3 hrs! I'm sure she's got a few days of pain in front of her, but hopefully this will all be better for her after a couple of months.

Hi ladies

Kara .. Your mum is in my thoughts and prayers i hope everything goes well in recovery
Lorrie .. I'm so sorry that happened to your cousin, i hope his recovery goes well and the graft is succesful, and i will keep in my prayers

Hope you sickies are all feeling better :flower3:

Ooh i read about the T-shirt shop and Cj is so very excited and wants to go the day b4 her b'day to get something made with that on :rotfl:

We have had snow since monday, not loads like you girls but enough for schools to be closed, and we may be getting some more tonight so all kids very excited, we only EVER get snow for about 1 day a year so woohoo here :rotfl:

Kara, I'm glad to hear she is out of surgery and all went well! Hopefully the recovery with be fast and smooth!

I just called Dis Dining to tweak the reservations a bit - I did get an earlier Ohana - which was good until she asked would we have a car. I said - nope, not planning on it. She seemed very on the top of her game so I sort of trust her - she told me that the buses only started running an hour before park opening, so we'd need to get a taxi to make it there in time. :headache:

I thought I read somewhere that they had a Character Dining bus. If this is true, then I need to undo these because there is no way we can make it there by 8 am!

Erin - enjoy the snow! those are such fun days for us too! We get snow here typically about 1 day/yr as well. It is always so exciting.

Okay, even though I know the teasing is coming, I need to post my ADRs and ask for help on what to take off. I booked quite a few because I'm waiting for the May Schedule to come out. I am working off May 08 - so fingers crossed it will be similar! If not, I'm toast!

Arrival: arrive @ 1pm 6:05pm Boma (to meet BSIL, and Kara too! :rotfl2: )
Sun: 8:00am Norway (EPCOT), 5:05 Park Fair (GF) since Jillian thinks we need to ;)
Mon: Nicolas' birthday...I just gave up a 9:20 Ohana for the 7:55 one. All that said, he may smash a lot of my plans because I think he wants to go to HS that day.
7:55am Ohana (MK), 7:55pm Chef Mickeys (Cont) - big afternoon nap planned so perhaps we can do spectro or wishes.
Tues: 5:15pm San Angels (EPCOT)
Wed: 8:00am Crystal Palace (MK) 5:30 Tutto Italia (EPCOT)
Thur: 8:00am Tusker (AK), 5:30 Ohana
Fri: 8:00am Hollywood & Vine (HS)Sat: 7:45 Chef Mickeys - we fly out at 3 pm.

I'm thinking about cutting the ones in the pink out - what do you guys think? We're on CST, so we 8 will feel like 7 to us - and my kids mostly get up about 6:30-7 daily anyway. We get 7 meals in our plan.

Here is the big question, should I just drop all the 8 am ADRs and go with the dinner ones? I know when Nicolas and I went, I was so dog tired each day and I just cursed under my breath about those early ADRs. I know they do help you avoid the crowds, but I'm wondering with Carlos & the kids if seat of our pants would work better so no one is grumpy starting out (uh hum, Carlos) and then in a bad mood the whole day.

:cheer2: I am so glad to hear that!!!

What about having it sent back to your room. They do it with packages from stores. So buy something small and have it sent with the cake

Get this - Jeff and his sister did not arrange flowers for their mom. Idiots!!! Or else his sis just sent flowers from her family. I REFUSE to help with this. My sis and I took care of flowers for my mom, Kami ordered, and I sent her a check. Done deal. So why can't Jeff and his sister get it together? He told me to call her, and I said "No."

Feeling better today but really want candy, in a big way! To the point that I"m about to run out and get a big bag of M&Ms!!!!

Lorrie - when we went to BBB, our appt was at 8:05am and the park didn't open until 9:00 and we had no trouble getting there by bus. The only thing is that the busses run to differenet resorts. For instance, that morning, from Pop, we went to Poly, and GF before going to MK, so do allow for more time.

I totally think you should deal with it - call DBSIL, and tell her that Jeff asked for you guys to send flowers for their mom - and perhaps she can handle that - and not to worry, she can put the $25 she owes you in for your family's part. :confused3 :lmao:

He's not responding to my text now, asking if he got ahold of her. Seriously, why should it be ME to handle this? It's HIS mother! Just because he doesn't like talking to his sister, why should I have to???

And time for the bus to break down :rotfl)

I had forgotten about that!!!!!!!!!!! :crazy2:

Kara - we go through this all the time. I swore I wouldn't do the xmas gifts a few years ago, but guess who was in the stupid mall on Christmas Eve buying gift certificates? I'm not saying it is right, I'm just saying that all men are like that for some reason. :sad2:

He said he "took care of it." His sister did nothing. Which means that now she owes us more money. :sad2: He can deal with ME dealing with it later. And deal with it I will. I won't keep my mouth shut this time.

OK, so my mom had double knee replacement done with a spinal!!!! What a woman! I thought my dad was kidding when he called me! But she said they gave her the option and she took a sedative which caused her to doze off and on, otherwise she was awake and talking to the nurse while they gave her new knees!!!!

Who knows the answer to this question? What exactly is the alternative minimum tax? From what I can see, it's all about mortgage interest, and since we were paying the mortgage on two houses for five months this year, that's a LOT of interest we paid! So it looks like it can help our refund by a ton of money, but I"m not sure I really understand it.
