Love, Love, LOVE Flying Fish! It is one of my faves! It is a bit pricey but it is sooooo worth it! And if you've never been to the Boardwalk, that would be a fun evening for you! There are street performers all up and down the boardwalk, magicians, juggles, just silly games. It's a lot of fun!
Erin, FF and CMB are both on our ADRs for March - I'll let you know. I chose FF cuz Cammie talked about it!
Yummy buffet! Seafood oriented. We always enjoy it!
Ah seafood could be the stumbling block there with the little ones and the pickier ones :rotfl: but thanks Debbie

Erin can't give you any advice on those either. They are on my to try list.

Thanks all .. It does look lovely and menu was really great but it just seems too pricey baring in mind my Bf is a family of 5, still would love to do the Boardwalk thing though, may still get her b'day cake ordered at the bakery there, so when we go to pick it up we could have a wander around .. Think we might do the new T-Rex restaurant in DTD, we all really want to do it anyway so i think why not just do it for her b'day then all kids can go spend some pennies in the build-a-dino hey :rotfl:

Kara- I never even thought about Dping being that:rotfl2: My face turned bright red when I read it because I didn't even know there was such a thing never mind what it was. Mike filled me in. BY the way tell Jeff he's Gross:lmao:

Renee- That ring is beautiful. I love things that are unique it took me forever to find my wedding band because I didn't want the same old same old.

Well the only thing I got done today was to go grocery shopping for my Nutrisystem stuff. Salad etc.... I need to get motivated.:sad2:

Thanks for the thoughts on the ring. It wasn't what I walked in looking for, but I think I'm in love. I just love the symbolism too - because what is marriage but ups & downs. :)

Well, when you find the fountain of motivation, send a bottle my way too! I'm feeling sick and blah so I haven't stuck to my program too good at all today.

Hey I'm right there with you sista! I hate the diet thing. I haven't stuck to it too well but I know it will work.

Love the ring. Our 10th anniversary was last Oct. It came and went. We are hoping to take a weekend to ourselves sometime soon but who knows.

BTW we are thinking of May for our trip in 2010. Well at least I am. :)

Does this mean I might get to have a DIS meet?????:hyper:

Don't you find it wild that we are about the same age, have kids about the same distance apart, and were married about the same time?

Debbie said we are all sisters from a paralell universe. I would so be up for a meet. I am still think about a trip to GA. If we do it in the summer I would take my time and drive down. IF that were to happen I would do my best to stop in and see you guys

Okay I'm so frustrated. Before I quit work, minus my job at a certain university, I made more than Carlos. I never said a word. So when WE decided I would stop working to stay home, it was a JOINT decision. I've never, nor has he, viewed money as "his" and "mine" but ours.

A couple of you know, but we had to use credit cards for things, and I'm in the process of paying that stuff down. So, that is why we are saying no vacation this year, etc - so hopefully by early Spring 2010, we'll be out of debt -- well credit card debt at least. We never got too bent about it, because we knew this going in.

My BF's birthday is in April. She turns 40. Our husbands are relatively the same. Lovely men, that we love, but not so thoughtful in the making things special department. SO... I really want her to have a special 40th. I thought I could take her on a weekend somewhere. We discussed it (Carlos & I) he would take a Friday off, we need to be back by Sunday.

I look at WDW and try to talk to him yesterday and he just got NASTY. Told me it was her husband's place to do something special, not mine and I should just do dinner or something like that, but he wasn't going to send "US" on a vacation if he wasn't going to get one. His response was "Not just NO but **** NO!"

Okay, I'm ticked today. She is my best friend. I want it to be so special for her. She has gotten the raw end of the deal during her life. Just to give you a glimpse, her mom left her & her sisters at home for 3 days while her dad was out of town. Thankfully her dad came home early to find her in her crib. The oldest was 6 at the time.

She is so giving, loving and just special. I want to do a nice trip for her. She is having a crappy time at work .

I'm the maddest that suddenly he gets to call the MONEY shots, and I'm at his mercy because I don't work. I'm really not happy at all about that.

On one side, I get that we said we were going to pay off the debt and we should stick to it, but then again, I'm talking about less than $2000. Probably $1000 because she insisted she pay her way. That is honestly - as you all know, 5 good trips to Target. ERRRRRRR......

I never ask for things for myself. That ring is the first thing I've asked for since CKU - and before that I don't think I asked for anything. My clothes come from Target mostly - and I'm cool with that - I'm very low maintenance. I just don't understand his right to tell me no, it isn't my place.

SO... I need some honest girl talk here. Am I in the wrong? If I am - please tell me & I can accept that. I just am very frustrated right now.

Renee,
I don't think you are wrong - it is so nice to have someone special you want to go on atrip with. Me and hubby also think of money as ours - it all gets pooled - my wages amount to 1/20th of his... so I always feel the need to be a bit "careful" , but he is cool if I need to spend out on something important. That said, I can see where he is coming from being upset at spending when there's something to be paid off, but sometimes occasions are important for all sorts of reasons that outweigh the financial down side... I'm rambling now, so I'll stop.... I think you need to explain the importance and then maybe back off for a while - let him think about it.... sorry, still rambling on..

My hubby has recovered - got a black scabby arm for his troubles, but thankfully that was all -it could have been worse - if he'd come off his bicycle in front of a car - I shudder to think....

Anyhow - got to feed the little darlings/monsters not sure which at the moment!!!

Tessa

Don't worry, I had no clue either!!!! And I did tell him he was sick!!! :rotfl:

Tessa - glad hubby is doing better - does he bike a lot?

Renee - I can totally see both sides of this thing. I can see your side for obvious reasons, but I can see Carlos side too. Maybe take her to dinner and plan a weekend next year. Or just do a little trip locally for one night and include a nice dinner in that. It's so hard to set a limit and then make exceptions. Because before you know it, there is exception after exception coming up, and you're not making any progress anymore. It sucks, but it's only one year in the whole scheme of things.

Where has Cammie been???

im on my way out the door. Are you going to be home for bit?
:cool1: Nothing like a Dis Phone meet to make you feel better! :cool1:

Tessa & Kara - thanks for your opinions and advice. I think there are some great points from both of you. It is just frustrating. I understand about exceptions, and the need to keep to the task at hand. It is tough. I think I just got my feelings hurt by being told "no" rather than talked to about it in a civil way. I think that does need to be discussed. I may give it a couple of days for emotions to not be so high though. :grouphug: Thanks.

I'm watching the ceremony. I've cried 3 times. He is such a moving speaker. I've been trying to make Nicolas understand why this is important to our history. He now thinks he can do whatever he wants, whenever he wants. :sad2: Um... I think I messed up with my explaination somewhere. :rotfl2:

Renee- I am sorry you and Carlos are going thru this. Mike and I go thru this battle at least once a week. He "gently" reminds me I DO NOT WORK. It is very difficult because I use to make almost what he did so we cut our income in half but have not cut our budget in half. I am working on that.

I agree that maybe a smaller trip is in order and maybe next year could be a larger trip. My best friend and I priceline a hotel and pick a budget place to visit. Usually Montreal so we can shop eat and have peace.

Feel free to call me anytime. I understand where you are coming from.

I'm sorry but I have to go off for a minute - I hope y'all will forgive me for this...

While I am thrilled and proud of America for electing our first black president, I think we should all be proud. But I am sickened that during a time of major economic crisis, people losing their jobs right and left, companies closing their doors, etc, that we would allow ANYONE to spend $170 million on the inauguration. The most expensive inauguration prior to this was $40 million 4 years ago, and he caught hell for that because we had a war going on. I hope this is not a sign of things to come and I will surely pray for our new president and for our country.

And now back to our regularly scheduled fun and silliness.

Just kidding - I think he will do a good job, but I raised an eyebrow at that 170m figure too. Just seems like maybe they could have some how cut back a bit :confused3 but I dunno, I'm not doing the planning.

Hey everyone, I don't know if this is All Malls or just ours, but our local news was saying there is a class action brought against all major cosmetic brands sold at Dillards & Macys and as part of this the companies (Clinique, Este Lauder... ) donated products to be given away to people who sign stating they purchased from the companies in I THINK it was like the last 10 years. They let you pick from about 20 full size products. Our Dillards reported to have 4000 units to give away. Here it starts today and should last approx a week, or until supplies give out.

Just thought I would mention it. On TV they showed big packages of full sized products to give away.

BTW - called the dr becasue I have green/bloody junk coming down the back of my throat - nothing in the nose. Asked did I need to come in. NOPE. Another Sinus infection. Put me on another round of antibiotics. :sad2: WTH is wrong with me?

Okay, can you guys please help me come up with some fun ideas for my BF's birthday? If we stay around here, it is tough. We aren't clubby. We like to chat more than anything, so I'm trying to come up with something special.

I'm creative with things, but stumped on this. So you guys are recruited to be my idea helpers. :goodvibes

Renee- how about a spa day? Do you have one close by? Alot of times they have great packages for 2 the one near me has a Girls day out it includes lunch etc.....
