oooooooohhhhh - it is sooooo not fair -I want to go too!!!! (is there a Tinkerbell stamping her foot smiley??) Need a sugar daddy to pay for the flights though!

Kara - New year has a few variations over here -

1. Scotland has "first footing" - you go round the neighbourhood from house to house having a big party really... even kids get "dragged" round too - I remember from my childhood!!! There are of course weird traditions involved - the first person in the door cannot have red in their hair and you have to offer a lump of coal for the fire...
2. Young and childless in England (or Scotland nowadays I guess)....- go to the pub/club/party somewhere, get rip-roaring drunk and be sick in a gutter somewhere after kissing loads of inappropriate men. (no, I am not kidding!!!!)
3. Ideal which never happens - someone offers to babysit for free, hubby has booked a swanky restaurant where you eat the most fabulous food and see in the New Year with a glass of chilled champagne...
4. Generally - be shattered after having got up 3 times in the night before with a little girl who has nightmares (just a phase I know!!), fall asleep on sofa, be woken at midnight by hubby saying "happy New Year, it's time to go to bed now"....

Guess which one applied this year!!! Maybe number 3 will happen some year???? maybe - I can wish can't I????? Mind you, then i wouldn't be able to look in on the little ones sleeping just after midnight and wish them luck and happiness for the coming year while watching their gorgeous little faces sleeping.:goodvibes

Tessa

Tessa and Erin, what is the big British tradition on New Years Eve?

The last few years i have spent with my bf and her hubbie and kids
We go to their house the kids play and we have dinner together, this year we then spent the next few hours drinking lots of vodka and playing on the Wii, had New Year with the kids then sent them to bed and carried on playing the Wii :rotfl: then we all crashed about half 2/3 ish

Hello to all :flower3:

All the WDW plans look wonderful! It wil be here before you know it!

Us girls watched movies while we scrapped. I tried to put in Mama Mia, but we weren't in to it that night. I watched it this am before Jim took it back - Lindsay came in and watched it with me, and we cried together - you moms of girls HAVE to see it! I loved it - I mean there is alot of ABBA music, which I liked, but the story is so sweet.

Oh Tammie i totally agree on this film .. I looove it we all went to the pics to see it My mum, Me, Chloe, My bf, her 2 DD's and we all loved it .. The bit that really makes me cry is when she's singing "Slipping through my fingers" .. Man that's how i feel about Chloe every day  I'm a huge ABBA fan so this movie was good on all levels for me :rotfl:

Interesting - I just have to ask - how do they get a "non-redhead" in every group coming through the door in Scotland? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

That might be the song for the scene where we cried - the daughter is sitting in the chair with the mom, and mom's painting her toenails.

Yup that's the bit :sad1: is a lovely part in the movie but man it makes me sad

We do have some of the same ideas on food, though.

Epcot is our Favorite park and it is an easy day where we can let Luca walk instead of trapped in the carriage all day long. AK is always seems so crowded. We may hit one of the EMH nights so Tabitha can get on EE and Kali River, but that would just be her and I or her and Mike. We always schedule a down day and just walk around the outlets and this year we are going to pick up some oranges. It is kind of up in the air we will see how the kids feel.

I wish winter was over already poor Luca has been sick twice in weeks. I feel so bad for him.

i broke down and bought a washer at Sears Outlet. Got a front loader for $500. It is a consumer reports best buy. I have my fingers crossed. Everyone seems to love them but I am apprehensive about the repair record. I'll pick it up tomorrow.
