Looking For Control Freaks & Worry Warts - We're still here!

Laura - you are exactly right - they think a lot of Jeff. He's done a great job here but I can't be moving every 2 years. That's just not gonna work. Not even me, but Ally! There is no way I'm going to do that to her! Now I do think that the job in SC would take more time to get in order than what he has done here, but then again, that's what we said about 2 years ago here! Why can't he work as hard on the house as he does at work???

Yes, they would HAVE to cover any loss on the house, and buy it outright from us. Jeff already told them that. AND they would have to cover our addition 100% to make it an option. The only good thing is that we could get a much nicer house, same size (even though I SWEAR next time I'm downsizing!) for a lot less. So much less that we'd probably add our own pool and outdoor living area and STILL come out less than we paid here.

AND the schools are better. But this has become home for us. We were sitting at the pool on Sunday afternoon saying just this. The pool, the golf course, the neighborhood as a whole. We can't match that in SC. And the proximity to "our special place." That came from Jeff!!! All I know is that I'm making sure to renew our passes this weekend so if we do move, we will HAVE to come back next year for sure!!!

OK, so I'm at the mall last night, right? Stopped in Payless and picked up some cute little sandals for Ally when the manager of the store tells me that the county health dept was in the mall yesterday testing for swine flu! They told him that it has been confirmed in Orlando (but I can't find that on any news sites yet), and that FL is a prime target with all the cruise ships coming in here from stops in Mexico.
Oh, joy. And I"m sure Disney is so NOT a good place to be right now, what with peeps coming from all over the world. Guess I will be washing and purelling a lot this weekend! Oink!

Why ya trying to freak Lorrie out!

Last night - went to bed at 11 - Jeff snoring. Finally fell asleep around 11:30. Jeff gets up at midnight, woke me up, couldn't go back to sleep until almost 4!!!!! I'm soooo tired now!

This is REALLY starting to become an issue with us. I can't stand it and I feel so bad but I just want to punch him at night!

You know, My BF is going down to Cayman this weekend, so we've been talking about it a lot regarding her trip, but I never even once thought about it in relationship to Orlando, but it makes perfect sense now that you say it!
I'll be sure to be extra careful with the kids.
Carlos and I had a HUGE blowout last night. He thinks I'm packing too early. The suitcases are in our bedroom, all packed EXCEPT his stuff, so after asking 5000 times, I had it. I don't understand why he must always do everything 13th hour (yes, I said it - he is always LATE for things) drives me nuts!
Plus his plan for packing is 4 outfits and me at the laundry. I dont' think so. I think he better do his own if that is his plan. It had better not infringe on my plans either. I'm going to get his lazy butt some extra shorts today. This is just stupid.
Okay, rant over.

Like Tammie said you need to pack extra shorts for him. YOU will just end up having to wash stuff. Shorts get filthy there and who are you kidding that on day 4 he's going to go do laundry! It will be you so just pack 4 more outfits for him and tell him tough. And as for packing early who cares!!!!! Why would he care!

Well, geez - we got a bunch of Sally Sunshines around here today!
C'mon girls - it's all gooooood! Both of you will be in Disney this weekend. No worries! Be happy!
My sister is vacationing in Mexico right now. NOt sure of what resort she's in. I should text her and see if they're fleeing the country yet.
It's going up to 90 here today! I really, really, really don't want to put on my AC but I just may cave today. I'm off to the gym now. See y'all later!

Thank you girls - news sure travels fast - wow, didn't realise you were on line... congrats all the way from Florida, Chicago...within like a few minutes!!! I still can't get used to this "instantaneous" internet thing.... !

My girls were really worried about swine flu *** they thought the Guinea Pigs might catch it - ahhhhh sweet..... Apparently they can catch colds, just like us - so not so daft after all.

Still, news over here is that the swine flu seems to either - 1. affect the Mexican indigenous communities more, or 2. lose potency on every transmission, as the confirmed cases over here in Europe seem much less virulent than the initial ones over there. So, hopefully not too much to worry about.

Didn't even think about this, but sounds true!!! Your news is at least smart - ours just reports the BAD. Swine flu - aaaaahhhhh! Ya know what? If I get sick, I'll go to the doctor this time, as opposed to treating myself with fluids and bedrest. I'll get meds and be good to go. I think that's the only good part of the news, they are making people aware that you'll be fine if you get to a doctor. Why must they always TRY to freak people out?

Tessa, that is so wonderful! Congratulations! Stick with it. My first 4 weeks on plan, I always lost about the same as week one - then like week 5-8 it was 5 one week, 2.5 the next - which sounds small, but when you start doing the math, 5+5+5+5+5+2.5.... it adds up quickly, or should I say subtracts quickly! GOOD GOING!

Well, I actually have been dealing with my mom freaked out. It is always something going on - you know?

Here is my thought. I agree with what Kara said, plus we live in a major city with good healthcare. I'm always more worried about the plane ride with all the recirculated air. I SO HATE TO FLY and then that is just more to add to the mix. I wish we could just drive.

Target was out of the shorts that Carlos likes, so there were no more to buy. Not that they were out of stock in his size, but as a whole they were out of stock. I may hit up Khols later -

Cammie - turn your air on girl, I've had mine on for months! I'm funny - I can't stand heat! Seriously though, if it is too warm, my face swells (nasal stuff) so I keep it on when it is hot out.

I'm so tired tonight I will probably crash. I think I'm 97 percent packed and ready to go at this point.

Lorrie - ours is set to kick on a/c or furnace depending on the temp - and there are days that both come on at some point!

Okay, Kara, since you are the Bobbie Villa type, What would it take for me to get a new thermastat that does that? Is it just replacing the thermastat, or do you have to do something with your unit too? We have electric for air and gas for heat but it is all controled on one thermastat. I figured you might have changed yours to the one you have now.

Lorrie - jeff replaced our thermostat in our old house. It's easy. If he can do it, anyone can do it. It is just replacing the thermostat. Home Depot - you can do it, they can help!

50% down here means that there is a 50% chance of a shower or storm which would last about 1/2 hour and then clear up - not 50% chance of all day rain.

Y'all I am soooo hooked on this harpersglobe.com. It's a parallel story that follows that show Harpers Island. So many theories out there, and the characters on Harpers Globe post videos, and blogs. So interesting.

I keep meaning to tell you guys that my Costco has MICKEY chicken nuggets and I just got Mickey and Cars pasta at Dominicks tonight! Love it!!!!
