Okay, I'm feeling guilty for not telling you guys, so I must spill the beans.

I have a mamogram scheduled for tomorrow at 2:30. It is diagnositic & digital. The order is to then do an ultrasound if they find any areas they need to look at.

I've been having pain in my left for 3 weeks now, my BF talked me into checking in with my dr. Yada, yada, yada, I get squished tomorrow. But that will put an end to me worrying about what it could be.

I talked to the director of the department and feel pretty good about things. She said best case, all is normal and it can be used as your baseline. She said they now recommend the first at 35, then the next at 40. Didn't even know that.

So, anywho... I'll be using my mother's day out time to pack tomorrow and I won't check in until after the procedure. i'll try to update you all once I get home.

Wish me luck. :goodvibes

Lorrie - first mammogram? No big deal - a bit uncomfortable but over in no time. They take 4 films - 2 on each. Squish first top to bottom then side to side. I just had one last week - I get those pains sometimes too, but it's usually muscle pulls. Actually, I've had 3 or 4 mamos and this one was the easiest so far.

Debbie - I PROMISE you that my house is the same as everyone's! OK, right now it's not bad - my family room is actually clutter free, but I'm looking at pop tart crumbs on the end table, and some of Ally's papers on the coffee table. That's it..... BUT I haven't dusted or vacuumed in over a week, with a dog in the house..... that makes me feel totally inadequate. Cause I know that it is flat out DIRTY in here! My kitchen is in decent shape for the first time in a long time, the only rough area is the kitchen table which has crap on there that I don't know what to do with. Since we got the bar stools, we eat there so i try to keep it neater. Now Ally's room looks like a teenagers. That is just sad - she should have a nice cute room but I just can't get her to pick up after herself and I'm so over it!

OK, I will take pics when it gets to "that" point again.....

OK so Lorrie I have to say my house is a pit EVERYDAY. I clean something and then it is a mess and it's not just Luca its Mike and Luca the Dog and me. I get so tired I just give up and stop doing anything. Somewhere in my mind I think Mike will get annoyed and take over and clean guess what? It DOESN'T happen. I am tired and now that I am working I am cutting back a bit to have someone else clean for me. I just can't do it anymore. My inlaws are with us and I am working myself to death to try and keep up with it all. I just can't.

Kara- I am glad to hear you are like the rest of us. :thumbsup2
As for Minnie well she is a puppy she thinks I am the mean one since I make her go out and keep her in her crate. I feel bad but :confused3 Also I am not feeling the same connection with her as I do with the cats.

Tessa- I am the same way I keep the Living room clean and the bathroom I don't let anyone go past that point.

Well I find out tomorrow if I Mike's 87 yo aunt is going to come live with us. I am OK with it but I am tired now how am I going to keep up with it all?

We are going to Disney Sept 22nd to October 2nd we changed the dates again because for Mike's birthday I think I am going to surprise him with the POLY:banana::lovestruc. He will be so happy. Also it will give me sometime to pick up shifts to pay for it.

Hi everyone! I also have the housekeeping woes, as I've described to you before. The only time my house has been clean is when i didn't have children living in my home. My advice: Rock them and play with them and help them make the messes! This is what they will remember :thumbsup2 I try to never let anyone come over, either, but it happens. I just blame it on my kids who don't help and life goes on.

Debbie, maybe you could have a organization expert or Clean Sweep or something like that help with your containers. But, really - play with the kids!

Kara, yah about Mexico - they attacked at a resort in Cancun just before we went to PV last Fall. I didn't know about it until we got back. Our Arbonne ladies went to the Moon Palace in Cancun and were fine!:thumbsup2 I think most resorts have gates, but if someone really wanted in.... Go to Jamaica! Or for heaven's sake, if you take a cruise, take Disney!

Lorrie, sorry about the allergies - but I'm glad Nicholas doesn't have the extreme reactions you have. Good luck with the mammo. Not fun, but doable, and it will give you peace of mind. Let's see - is there another kind of Spidey cake they do? It sounds like it could be a little plane, as long as the toys are on it. It is hard to pack enough for 7 days without doing laundry - airline baggage limits and all. I usually figure 2 a day, plus a couple of nice outfits, a couple of swimsuits and cover-ups. I don't bring beach towels, cuz you can get pool towels.

I'm enjoying my glass of wine and the DIS, and ignoring the dirty dishes in the kitchen. I'll do them in the morning like I did today. I'm looking for a new washer and dryer - any suggestions? I was thinking having the steam dry cycle might be nice. I'm also getting a steamer so I can pretend I'm half the housekeeper Kara is! :goodvibes We have one more day of nice weather - hi 70's, and then it is supposed to rain and snow. Ryan and Dana have Mason's 2nd Birthday party planned for Sat, and they've rented a bounce house. I hope the sun comes back by then!

Good Morning ladies!!!!

Tammie - I would love to take a Disney cruise but they are so dang expensive!!! Carnival is easily the cheapest and out of Jax is even cheaper! And RCL is actually less expensive for 7 days than Carnival out of Port Canaveral! But 4 nights on DCL is MORE than 7 nights on the others! Even though I know it is Disney and would be awesome, we first want to try our hand at cruising, in case we don't like it. So first time will be less expensive.

Oh, and being the princess I am, I told Jeff I wanted a balcony so when we priced Carnival, we could actually do a balcony room there for much less than an inside room on DCL. Yeah, I'm a snob.:snooty:

OK, Mexico is definitely OUT! Especially with a little blonde haired, blue eyed child in tow! Jamaica actually scares me sometimes too. The resorts are awesome, but just the drive from MoBay to the resorts is rough. And Kingston is very violent! I always hold my breath until we get to our resort - yeah, I'm a bit blue by then, but at least safe. :rotfl:

Ya know where I really wanna go? Don't know why, but I'd love to go to the Dominican Republic OR Turks and Caicos. Why? Don't know, but I know that all those small islands are dangerous. And all it takes is one wrong turn from the airport. Sooooo...... the pool is looking better and better for the summer!

I just don't want to lose our frequent flyer miles and I think some of them expire next year. Either way, I told Jeff to get his passport (Ally and I have ours already - we're women, we're prepared!) in case we see some great deal on Carnival out of Jax. They sometimes offer last minute deals for locals to fill the ships. Like $199 per person for the 4 night cruise? That's insane!

Oh, and the steamer is the bomb diggity. I actually need to whip it out here and do my floors. Haven't used it since we had the floors cleaned and the grout sealed. But the neutral cleaner he sold me is really good. It do NOT attract dirt like the ammonia and pine sol I used to use. Ive noticed that the floors and grout stay clean much longer than they used to. But because he said that steam will break down the grout over time, I don't use it for weekly cleaning - maybe every couple of months or so. But it's still the bomb diggity for cleaning my shower!

Add me to the "My house is a pit" list! My Easter decorations are still up and I have an office in my house that basically serves as a storage room - just piles of stuff in there. I just keep that door closed - out of sight; out of mind!

And honestly, I think people with tidy houses are the minority in this country anyway. I know TWO freaks in my neighborhood with spotless houses - no clutter anywhere! Mom's is uptight; dad is grouchy; and the kids are miserable. So there you have it: clean house = unhappy family; messy house = happy family. That's my logic and I'm sticking to it!:)

Good luck with the mam. today Lorrie. Let us know how it goes!

Good Morning Just a quick reply - have to get in the shower.

Kara, IKWYM about the price of DCL. I want to do Tahiti or Morea. My dad worked for the AF in Dominican Rep watching for drug planes on the radar. Stupid drugs ruin all the good places.:sad2: Jim says he just wants to vacation in the US where you know what to expect, sort of - except for cruises. Check out this website for last minute cruise deals. My aunt first told me about it when she did her HI cruise, and we used it to book my parent's AK cruise. They are great!
www.vacationstogo.com I just noticed an ad for Resort Quest beach vacation rentals at the top of the page!

Hi Cammie! ITA with you. It's nice to have you back here:hug:

!

You know, now that you say this - I know one. The kid can't do anything in the house, parents are always nipping at each other in front of me & kids. I think you may be right on about that sister! :thumbsup2

Well, then judging by my house today, we have a VERY HAPPY FAMILY! :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2::lmao:

Two bags are packed - duffles. :cool1: Just the swim stuff, matress for the pack & play, diapers, swim vests etc. I haven't even started on clothing yet. Thank goodness we get 8 bags! :rotfl2: I am thinking we'll probably only need 4. 2 for stuff, 2 for clothing. We will see if I am right. :confused3

I'm so tired today. I think yesterday made me a little emotionally spent. Okay - off to work on the bathroom stuff and maybe the carryon too. Plus laundry and outfit composition. I so suck at putting outfits together. :sad2:

Cant stay long but wanted wish Lorrie good luck....the thing you have to remember is when it is your first A LOT of times they make you come back. They don't know if something is new yet. I actually had a biopsy in two spots after my first and everything was fine! So don't stress until AFTER you get bad news (which you won't). They are SUPER overly cautious now. Good luck! It's so fun being a women!

I like the way you think girl!!!!!

Jillian...congrats on the trip! Good luck with the Grandma situation...and relax a bit. Donb't run yourself down or you will get sick!

Tammie....I WISH I could afford a clean sweep! I need help because I am in denial and get super upset when I think about getting rid of things.

Kara....I still think there is no comparison between your house and mine. You would hardly be embarrassed if someone came over. I would be mortified. Don't hide it...we are all jealous we aren't efficient like you! You are super women!

Laura...did you get my pic?

?

Debbie- thanks for that tid bit! If they do find anything, perhaps I won't be so worried now knowing your story! I know I have the mamogram - the radiologist will read it right then. If he/she finds anything, then I do a ultrasound afterward - if not, no ultrasound. We will see.

I have thoughts that it is nothing. But what good worry wart wouldn't worry just in case. ;)

I'm super excited. I have 7 outfits put together. I didn't even know I had 7 outfits! :lmao: Then I have a load about to be done and there are 3 pairs of capri's in there too! :cool1: Now, granted, most are a solid polo and a pair of capris, but hey, it is something! :rotfl2:

Shoe question - haven't broken in my Teva flops yet - but they are black. If I take them, a pair of crocs (or my merrills), and my tennis shoes - am I good? I wore my tennis shoes last time, but they are light blue and white and sometimes I feel like a dork.

I'm fashion challenged. :confused3:rotfl2:

Okay, Kara and Cammie - you've been mighty quite about the trip - I'm dying to know what you guys have planned. Am I missing where you guys are talking about it? :confused3

You know me, Lorrie, I'm just shy and quiet.....

Seriously - about the footwear - it does not have to match. It's Disney - take a look around you at all the fashion disasters!!!!! I just wear crocs, but that's me. I wore flops one time and my shins hurt so bad the next morning!!! But that was just Jeff and I and I think we took 32K steps that day.... We put in some miles when we go.

Wow, I guess it is 9 days, huh? woo hoo!

I just got back from a 4 mile bike ride to the pool and back. I relaxed up there for about 40 minutes, and I'm pooped. And I stink. Seriously. Time to go take a shower......

I just reread about 3 pages of my pre-hurricane freak out from last summer. I was laughing so hard! We are only a few weeks from the start of hurricane season, so just getting prepared again.

Actually, jeff and I were in Jamaica about 4 years ago and got a TS there in MAY! How weird is that! I think hurricane season starts June 1. But usually nothing bad until August/Sept. Oh, joy.

Hey girls
I am a fellow messy householder .. i have always been untidy, and now i have little excuses, i have no kids at home, i don't work all day every day and i have no man mess in my house :lmao: i generally don't give a monkeys about how messy my house is and then all of a sudden i cannot cope and blitz the entire house but it's not often!! People should except you for who you are and if not then stuff em i say .. my mum doesn't care and my bf will do all my washing up when i have a bad day. There are certainly people i will not let in until i have tidied, mostly cj's friends mothers hahaha and NOONE drops in anyone who does is not invited in :lmao: I am who i am :confused3

Lorrie i hope all went well today  and woohoo for your trip, you must be soooo excited now!!

At school they have something called writers workshop where they all write stories, poems etc etc and share with everyone .. anywho someone had written a story about Jack the ripper .. she was trying to get to sleep and was sobbing and sobbing she couldn't stop thinking about the whole thing .. i have no idea what she found out i didn't want to carry on talking about it will discuss more tomorrow .. Joy!! Poor girlwas soooo upset

Hi Ladies! Would it be ok to ask a question of you 'in-the-know' chicks? In true control freak fashion, I have started working details for our 9/26-10/3 CBR stay w/ Dining-palooza. My obsessive thought today is about strollers. I have gotten an opening on a double Maclaren Techno 'stroller swap' (will have a 4 y/o and 2 y/o at time of trip) and wonder if any of you have ever participated in one? We are driving down but we are like the Clampetts when we hit the road and any space liberated in our Mazda CX-7 is truly a good thing. Anyone have any thoughts/advice on doing a stroller swap.

About my homekeeping abilities....please refer to above reference to the munchkins, currently aged 3 1/2 and 21 months. Just please don't notice the PB&J remnants smeared on the coffee table, yesterday's dishes in the sink, and waist high (and I am 6'2") mountain of laundry. Wish I could turn the control tendencies to the housefrau duties. It's just not as interesting as trip planning! And I also loose it and cry about it...it can be so overwhelming.

At least the 3 1/2 y/o had a nice new Phineas and Ferb t-shirt to wear to pre-school this morning. That makes me SuperMommy in his estimation.

Hey Welcome and thanks for "De-lurking!" :cheer2: We had a wierdo on here once, so we're kind of careful about random commrents - we like to get to know you! Please feel free to jump in and share - we are nice ladies and we love to listen and help you plan!

I haven't done the swap, but I've heard they work well, as do the fridge swap and coffee maker swap. People just find a swap where the next available date is open at their resort, then leave it in the name of the next person on the list, I believe. I have heard the resorts are charging a fee for this now, but still not alot. Maybe someone else here knows more. Sounds like a great stroller.

Phineas and Ferb Rock! BTW!

so I should back up and introduce myself. Sorry - I get as enthusiastic as a Golden Retriever puppy sometimes.

I am Jenn - a SAHM with a 3 1/2 yr old, Ben, and a 21 mo old, Emmie. We are reluctant residents of the Atlanta 'burbs. Prior to my adventures in reproduction, I worked as a discharge planner for mental health patients and am a part-time stage actor. I just finished a production of 'Romeo and Juliet' in which I played the Nurse. I adore, adore, adore Shakespeare and everything to do with the period. My husband, The Goose (or Chris), and I are celebrating our 7th anniversary during our upcoming trip to WDW on 9/27. I got him properly sucked in and indoctrinated to Disney-ness during an engagement trip to The World in August 2001. We stayed at the AKL and spent a small fortune on moleskin, fancy dinners, and Eeyore memorabilia. We commando-ed in the August swelter. I had that poor man up on a 6am flight and then we did an EMH until 12am on our first day - how we remained engaged I have no idea. We are vowing to be much more judicious with our touring with The Goslings in tow. I got sucked into this thread by the title, then sucked into Kara's trip reports, and that's how I got here. Oh, also, I've been a visitor to the DIS since 1997 when it was "Peter Werner's Disney Information Station". I remember the pre-Ezboard days even!

So, that's me. BTW - I kind of am a weirdo...but a fun and non-icky one. :hippie:

Thanks for the welcome and goofiness aside I look forward to learning from you ladies.

Well, Howdy Jenn! It's so nice to meet you, and it sounds like you'll fit right in! I know when the rest of the crew wakes up, they'll be happy to greet you to!:goodvibes Let us in on your planning - as you can tell, we love to help, or at least think we are!:thumbsup2
