it is way to forget that over people can see/read our thread.

Welcome Jenn! The stroller swap seems to be a great idea. My only thought would be the details of it. Making sure I was in the right place at the right time. My sister lives in Atlanta too. She's up in swanee (sp?).

I'm here not really Posting much. 85 degrees today. I need to pull out the slip and slide for beth. They were running around in tanks and shorts yesterday. It was only 65. They are die hards.

so I should back up and introduce myself. Sorry - I get as enthusiastic as a Golden Retriever puppy sometimes.

I am Jenn - a SAHM with a 3 1/2 yr old, Ben, and a 21 mo old, Emmie. We are reluctant residents of the Atlanta 'burbs. Prior to my adventures in reproduction, I worked as a discharge planner for mental health patients and am a part-time stage actor. I just finished a production of 'Romeo and Juliet' in which I played the Nurse. I adore, adore, adore Shakespeare and everything to do with the period. My husband, The Goose (or Chris), and I are celebrating our 7th anniversary during our upcoming trip to WDW on 9/27. I got him properly sucked in and indoctrinated to Disney-ness during an engagement trip to The World in August 2001. We stayed at the AKL and spent a small fortune on moleskin, fancy dinners, and Eeyore memorabilia. We commando-ed in the August swelter. I had that poor man up on a 6am flight and then we did an EMH until 12am on our first day - how we remained engaged I have no idea. We are vowing to be much more judicious with our touring with The Goslings in tow. I got sucked into this thread by the title, then sucked into Kara's trip reports, and that's how I got here. Oh, also, I've been a visitor to the DIS since 1997 when it was "Peter Werner's Disney Information Station". I remember the pre-Ezboard days even!

So, that's me. BTW - I kind of am a weirdo...but a fun and non-icky one. :hippie:

Thanks for the welcome and goofiness aside I look forward to learning from you ladies.

Welcome Welcome Welcome!!!! OK, first things first - stroller swap. My SIL is doing this next week - so I'll know more then! They are staying at ASMO and getting a double jogging stroller - hope it works for them or else I'll never hear the end of it as I'm the one who suggested it.... :rolleyes1 But we did a fridge swap at POP last year and it worked out PERFECTLY!!! IMO it's the only way to go in a value - $12/day can add up quickly.

As for my TRs, why the heck haven't you posted???? I'll let you off the hook since you've posted here, though! :cutie:

First up - all is clear. We did the mamogram, all looked fine, so no reason to move on to other things. Whatever the "issue" is, it is a little worse today, so I'm guessing it will get better soon. :confused3 Maybe movement related, etc.

Saturday is our big man's birthday party. I'm excited, but very mad at the in-laws. Carlos wants me to clean house today and tomorrow so they can come here.

WHY you ask? Because they have an aquantance who lived in PR too, so they invited them to their wedding. There MAY be people from PR there, so they are DITCHING their GRANDSON's BIRTHDAY to go to the wedding, then coming here after the party (aka wedding) is over.

I'm seriously pissed. I'm tempted to leave it a freaking mess and watch the horror on his dad's face. :snooty: Seriously, I'm not kidding, you could EAT off any surface of their home. He steam cleans the carpets twice a week.:sad2:

I just noticed an ad for Resort Quest beach vacation rentals at the top of the page! :
We've been using Resort Quest for YEARS and love them. If anyone does use them, let me know because it seems we always have some sort of major coupon lying around. :dance3:

You know me, Lorrie, I'm just shy and quiet.....
r......
:rolleyes1And I'm 116 pounds.

Poor girlwas soooo upset
:scared1:Poor CJ! That is just awful. I'd offer advice, but I tell you that I have no idea what to say. I'm just stumped! :scared:

At least the 3 1/2 y/o had a nice new Phineas and Ferb t-shirt to wear to pre-school this morning. That makes me SuperMommy in his estimation.
Welcome! Our Kiddos are about the same age. And I hadn't thought about it, but you are so right. Nicolas wouldn't think anything other than I am Super Mom because he got picked up yesterday from Mother's Day Out and didn't have to do rest time, AND got to watch Scooby Doo! :laughing:I'm taking my own stroller - but mostly because we are flying. I like my Joovy sit & stand, but Nicolas is about to turn 5, so he will walk more than ride I think. I am taking my Rayshades for the stroller to have a longer canopy to protect them from the sun. YOu might want to look at those. They store so well and work with anything. (Toys R US, Babies R US or Amazon). ;)

it is way to forget that over people can see/read our thread.

:) Me too. I would also worried about getting messed over - or not liking the stroller - or the stroller being filthy. I'm a basket case though. :rotfl2:

Kara, you are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO better than me. There is no way I'd suggest a thing to her - at least until I got my money. :rotfl2::cool1:

Okay, I need to clean, but I want to go to the mall. I have a handy, dandy Disney store coupon. It is the MYSTERY COUPON. :woohoo: Either 15%, 25% or 50% off! :cool1: Plus I want to get CArlos some more shirts so I'm not running to the cleaners so often! We fought until 11 pm about the turnaround last night. I dont' think he understands what a PITA it is to do that in one day, two times a week. :confused3

But I should stay home and clean for JA FIL, but I want to go do that and take the kids to Toys R Us. They each have $3 of free shopping - since you know that will buy SO MUCH in there. :rotfl:

:welcome: Jenn! I've gotten the chance to either meet or talk to alot of the girls on this thread and let me tell you - they're all weirdos! So you'll fit right in!;)

Sorry I can't help with the stroller swap issue; my girls are well past the age of needing them. Good luck though and please stick around. We are a fun bunch here, if I do say so myself.:)

So I know I must sound like a broken record but you won't believe this - Lauren is sick again! This time though it's a high fever and really, really congested. I was up with the poor thing half the night. She seriously can't breathe through her nose. The girls are supposed to go with their dad tonite and she doesn't want to. When she's sick, she wants her "mommy" but dad feels like he should get the chance to take care of her. I hate this battle. He also said he wanted to take them to the beach this weekend. Now, it's supposed to hit 80 on saturday but still - the water will be extremely cold so I don't get the point of being on a beach, in New England, in April. They'll just be sitting there.:confused3

Ok, so I'm going to be pretty lazy here but can anyone give me a condensed version of these great offers Disney is offering? LIke with the free dining or the discounted rooms. I've only ever booked rooms through DVC so I'm really not familiar with other offers. Are they really amazing deals? And when do you have to travel? I'm trying to finish my TR on my trip with Lauren and I'm thinking it would be fun to go with her again. At first I thought I would have no business trying to squeeze in another trip but if the price is really right.......:rolleyes1. What do you think?

Oh, btw, I use a website to check movies before the kids are allowed to watch them. I love this site - www.kids-in-mind.com. I was just checking out Monsters vs. Aliens, and thought you guys might like it too.

Poor Lauren. Is she at the age where it is safe to use Afrin? I'm under the care of our leading research hospital and actually part of my treatment is 1 spray each nostril of Afrin DAILY. They have found that it is safe to use ongoing if you just use it one spray/day. Anyway, I think above everything, that has helped me most of all. I do it at night because your body naturally swells at night - and I can deal with things much easier during the day. I hope she feels better soon.

I'm the wrong one to ask about the deals. The only thing I find mine on are the wdw website, but instead of pricing it the normal way, I go over to the right hand side - in the corner and click on "special offers" and it lists what they have going on. I hope that helps some.

DIS status Change....
Debbie Haas Schulze is going outside baby!!!!!!

Didn't catch up yet but saw Lorrie is fine...YEAH! Gotta run!

Got the grumps again. Jeff is just getting on my last nerve on a daily basis. Someone gave him some fresh strawberries (FL is the strawberry capital of the US!) and he decided to make smoothies. Well...... first of all they tasted like crap! Second of all, imagine my kitchen! I had gone to take a nice hot bath and relax after dinner. Imagine my surprise when he was plopped on the couch watching TV and surfing the net, while the sink was overflowing!!!! I'm so SICK of this!!! I threw a major hissy fit, mumbling under my breath about how I'd better get used to my "place" in this world. Here to serve others and to hell with relaxing for me. It was ugly. But he seriously does not get it! Then he makes a big deal of anything he does. he might vacuum. Then literally leaves the vacuum inthe middle of the family room (or whichever room he does) floor. And he considers that helping me! AARRGGHH!

That's it. I'm on strike. I'm gonna leave all my crap out now. I'm going to behave like he and Ally. If he wants it clean, he can clean up after me for a change. Done. All my dishes today will go in the sink, not the dishwasher. But I'm gonna cook tonight like he does and leave it all for him to clean up. This might actually be fun! Oh, and all my underwear will end up in the bathroom floor, shoes all over the house, fun fun fun!

Anyone watching Harpers Island?

Oh, Cammie, poor Lauren! I know I always wanted my mommy too when I was sick. Has she been to the dr yet? They might be able to give her something better than over the counter for the congestion, and maybe something to make her sleep - that's the best medicine there is. WATER and REST! Tell her to drink so much water or OJ that she gets annoyed cause she has to pee so much. That way she's flushing it out.

I do like to go to the beach when it's warm, cause I'm not much for swimming in the ocean anyway... But if the poor child is sick, she's not gonna want to go anywhere!!! And she shouldn't be around new wifey anyway. Ask him how stupid he is???? Oh, wait, we all know THAT answer! :rotfl2:

As for the deals. Hmmm, is the 4/3 deal still out there? That's buy 4 nights, get 3 free, but it's not as much of a deal if you have passes..... Then there is free dining in late August and September. But as a passholder you have to pay for one day of passes to be able to take advantage of the free dining for the entire stay. Jeff and I did this for our anniversary - we stayed 3 nights and got 3 days free dining, but we each had to buy one day passes - and they are good for up to one year, so we're gonna use them for my parents' when they come down.

the deals seem to be good. The free dining is basically paying rack rate for the rooms and getting the basic dininnig plan free. Debbie can talk more on the 4 and 3 deal. I don't know how much they over lap for the summer though. When are you thinking of going back?

Have fun outside Debbie! I'm headed out soon as I compile my budget report for tim. Yes he wanted complete break down of where all our funds have gone this year. And you all know me I don't do anything small. He will be over whelmed and hopefully off my case.

Lorrie--YIKES!! the inlaws sound nuts! you are right to be angry. Skipping a birthday for someone you don't know? Is that a common cultural thing--going to a wedding for someone you kind of sort of know through someone else? blows my mind. if carlos wants it clean--let him do it--hahaha--I fell off of my chair. Good luck! I hate worrong about dress shirts too. I only bring them in every 3rd wash so I am doing lots of ironing.

I went to check on Nicolas' cake - they have all they need, and it all looks good to go! :thumbsup2

I was walking to my car and thinking, man... it sure is hot & muggy here today. So I check the temp on my car - 77. That can't be right. It has to be upper 80's. So I check the weather channel - nope, 77 is right. :headache: Funny how easy it is to forget what "hot" is.

First, Cammie the 4/3 offer deadline was mid-April. There is another offer out there "Pounce" on a deal which gives reduced rates on rooms, but I think it is valid through 6/6 for some reason. My same vacation under the 4/3 deal was only $150 more when I priced it under the Pounce offer, so I think it is good. :confused3 Then free dining in the fall. It didn't seem like such a great deal to me - but with annual passes, either would be better than the 4/3 offer where you pay 4 nights hotel & park tickets, then get 3 nights/park tickets free. Sorry I missed the part where you wanted quick version the first time. Blasted skimming.

Laura - nope not cultural. I think it is PITAural. Ha! It is his dad. He is a very selfish individual IMHO. They do know the people, just casually, but a lot of people will be coming in from PR to attend and he is hoping it will be some people he knows. Now the cultural thing that drives me bananas is the temporal thing - If the party is at 3, they'll get there 3:30-4. I like to be there early, so you can imagine the battles there.

I'm still cleaning - I'm going to do a bit of packing again, I think. I'm putting mine and Nicolas' clothes together. Should be good to go. Of course I'm spreading them between two suitcases, so if one gets lost.

Hey, Kara - Ms. there every two weeks - :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2::lmao:. If our flight gets in at 1pm, how long do you think it will take us to get a room Sat? I was hoping to get Mia napped before we meet you for dinner at Boma. I'm thinking we'd get in, nap, maybe hit the pool quickly, and go to dinner. Sound doable?

Lorrie - are doing ME? I'd check with Cammie on that - I'm not sure how long it takes from the airport.....

Just got all the bills paid - I do all online banking - it's nice to not worry about stamps, do I have them, or don't I, etc. And I jsut set up recurring payments for the TV we bought - no interest until next April, so I split the payments so we'll be paid off in Feb (just to be safe). Now I don't have to worry about it!

Still on strike. I toasted a tuna salad for lunch and left the toaster out. I also just put my dishes on the counter. And there they will stay until someone ELSE cleans them up for a change! But as soon as Ally gets home, we're going to the store so I can cook dinner. And pile it all in the sink.

I'm serious - this is gonna be a Freaky Friday kind of thing. I will cut the grass, cook dinner, and man the remote control, but that is IT! And anytime someone comes over, I'll tell them exactly what is going on. That way I'm off the hook and my husband looks like the lazy slob. Ha!

I feel better already.

Lorrie - are doing ME? I'd check with Cammie on that - I'm not sure how long it takes from the airport.....

I feel better already.

Kara - good for you on the role swap. I think that is a fantastic idea! I've been cleaning all morning and I sware I don't get why everything is the way it is.

Yes we are doing ME - which should take about an hour. Sorry I'm always so clear when I write huh? I meant do you think if we get there 2-2:30, what do you think our odds are at getting a room then so Mia could nap. Now that I write this, I'm thinking you guys get there late afternoon when you go - don't you? Last year when I got there Nicolas & I got our room early, but I didn't know if that was an abnormal thing or not.

I packed Nicolas' clothes in ziplock bags. 14 outfits. So I'm sitting here going - that has to be overkill. Then again, Nicolas with ice cream :rolleyes1 So now, I'm thinking we might have 6 bags at that rate. I'm not sure. :sad2: I so don't want 6 bags - so I'm going to work on this stuff. I came up with 10 for myself.

For whatever reason, I'm the kids' main napkin. :sad2:

Lorrie - 2 outfits per day? Seriously? I would think 10 outfits max. That's what I usually pack for a 7 day trip and end up bringing home 3 clean outfits!

Then sit on the ziplocks to get the air out -you can pack sooooo much more in the suitcase that way!

OK, so went to the store - got stuff to cook 4 meals. Chicken, fish, steak, pasta. Tonight is taco night at the clubhouse......

I feel guilty now about making jeff pick up after me - i'm still all for role reversal for awhile, but i can't make him pick up after me. That's just cruel - at least that's how I feel when he does it to me. And when I called AT&T today about upgrading to an iphone I found out that they REQUIRE you to get the data plan for $30 a month. I told Jeff that I don't want to do it and he told me to go ahead and get it!!! Maybe he feels guilty already! So now I feel guilty. What a healthy relationship - guilting each other into stuff! :rotfl2:

Hey Jenn welcome .. I am also a huge Shakespeare fan!! :welcome:

85 degrees today. I need to pull out the slip and slide for beth. They were running around in tanks and shorts yesterday. It was only 65. They are die hards.

Laura i am officially jealous of you .. we have sun and about 60 but i would kill for 85  enjoy!!

Thanks Lorrie .. it was horrid!! I did have a chat with her this morning, i need more info on what she heard and learnt though b4 i go any further with it

Oh, btw, I use a website to check movies before the kids are allowed to watch them. I love this site - www.kids-in-mind.com. I was just checking out Monsters vs. Aliens, and thought you guys might like it too.

We saw this recently and absolutely loooved it, it was hilarious!!!!

Kara i have just seen an ad for a new film with your man in it .. Is it out there yet? Have you seen it? Any good?

Hey to everyone else :flower3:

Kara - good for you with Jeff. I just called Carlos to ask if he would come home early so we could go to dinner. His question - what is in it for me? I'll tell him what is in it for him. :rolleyes1 I"m thinking a swift kick across someone's backside if he doesn't.

Well, Nicolas wanted ice cream after our trip to get more Ziplock bags. Both of them had messy ice creams - Nicolas had a cone. One small dot drop on his shirt - Mia clean. I think Kara is right - 10 outfits max may be all I need.

That will help out. I'm taking 10, but 3 of them don't count. They are for our dinners. I don't want to walk into Tuttos or Ohana looking like a slob, so that is my thought.

It is BEAUTIFUL here today. I'm thinking about taking a hike around the neighborhood. Anything to get out of eating spagetti tonight. What is it with me not wanting red sauce when it is hot out? :confused3

Hi all and thanks so much for the warm welcome!

Lorrie I am very anxious to hear about your visit (jealous!) next week since our munchkins are so similar in age. I LOVE the Joovy and have eyed a green one with serious consideration. We still have the same Zooper (you wouldn't believe how well-researched that purchase was! ) we got when my son was born and it has held up remarkably well so I was reluctant to purchase a brand new stroller. I have gone ahead with the swap and am crossing my fingers that the swap stroller isn't totally trashed after a summer of being in a swap. It seems like such a great deal.

Erin, I am so glad to hear from someone from England on this thread! I went to drama school there years and eons ago and have been through the Milton Keynes 'funny roundabout'!

I understand that whole guilt trade-off, Kara. Chris and I do it all the time. He slacks, I get miffed, he does something to make up for it, and I either feel terribly guilty or seethe because he is doing it wrong!

Gotta figure out how to do those fancy multi-person quotes in my replies so I can keep straight who I'm replying to! lol

Jenn - did you go to LAMDA? My sister studied at AMDA in NYC and was accepted into LAMDA but it just wasn't financially possible at that time for my parents. She still does a lot of community theater and actually had a bit part in a film last year! She lives in a small town in Ohio and her DH isn't the most supportive of her acting. She's also had the female lead the past 4 years in an outdoor drama there. Love to watch her - we joke that she got all the talent in the family! She can act AND sing. I can golf.... :rolleyes1

And I'll let you know how the stroller swap goes for SIL (or as I call her BSIL -you can figure out what the B stands for.... )

Erin - I've been watching the trailers for Matt's (he lets me call him that... in my dreams!) new movie! Can't wait to see it! Jeff said he'd go with me cause he knows what's in it for him afterwards! :lmao:

Lorrie - Don't worry about being a "slob" for any of your dinners - you're in Disney - everyone will be hot, sweaty, cranky, etc. But I'm one of those that always tries to not look like a slob only cause we take so many pics and I like to put them out around the house.

OK, so I'm going into battle with AT&T today! After I talked to the guy on the phone yesterday for 1/2 hr and he told me about an iphone promotion and I did NOT have to wait until July for my upgrade, but I had to go to the store to get the phone. Did that and after 40 minutes, and having Jeff call to add me as an authorized user on the account, etc, I'm told I have to wait until July unless I want to pay $400 for the phone! Uh, NOOOO! I was FURIOUS!!! Then, I meet Jeff at the clubhouse for dinner and I'm talking to a gal there who just switched from Verizon and AT&T gave her an iphone for FREE! That is so wrong! The established customers always get screwed! And I wasted about an hour and a half yesterday dealing with this. Their answer? Sorry, we can't do anything about it. This after I've gone through FOUR cell phones in the past year, all under warranty. You'd think they'd make a tiny concession as an act of good customer service. So today I'm calling and pulling out the claws. I've tried being nice. Didn't work.

Oh, and Jeff just doesn't get it. Still. He did agree to switch roles for awhile but the problem with that is that he will do "my" job so half a$$ed anyway that it will seem to him that I don't do anything. I think this weekend I'm going to have him make a list of what he does so I can follow it. And I'll do the same. Yeah, this will be funny.

What upsets me is when he admits that I do way more around the house than he does, but still won't contribute anymore. And when I threaten to hire a cleaning lady again, he gets mad. He doesn't want to spend the money on that. Well, since we've both quit smoking, and cigs have gone up to $5/pack, at a pack a day that's almost $4/year we are saving. Guess what? I'm hunting for a cleaning lady. I was so much happier when I had one in SC. It just took away so much stress.

OK, enough ranting for today.... think I'll go call AT&T now.

good for you jenn on the stroller swap. I'm keepingy fingers crossed for you.

Kara something seems off on your math. Only $4 a year? :lmao)
Lorrie how many bags have you gone thru? Tim laughed at me but it made packing so much easier.

Summer is here today. It felt like wdw when I got up this morning. Oh how I need to go back.

I had one of my cc canceled on me. I was so mad!!! The had lowered my limit last year by over $10,000 (like I needed that large of limit) then they bumped the rate to 27.99%. Then canceled it yesterday. They want out of the consumer credit business. I'm not sure what costco will do now since Amex was the only card accepted there. Any way just in ***** mood. And the topped is that the belt on the van needs to replaced. I need the lottery money. Oh wait you have to play to win.

I'll be lurking today. Tough to post will outside.
