Badookie is feeling better and I am finally back on schedule although the house needs a good scrub down (yucky germs :scared: ) The world is paid for airfare is paid for and now the wait begins. I am going to by munchkin a new suit case tomorrow and shop for DH and get final things like sunscreen etc.. I will finish packing and then the suitcase will wait too.

Yeah, that has a lot to do with it for me. I need to tell myself just do a little at a time. My biggest complaint though is while I am spending an hour cleaning one thing the kids are making a whole new mess! That's why I am going to shoot for when DD is in school I think.
I wish we all lived by each other. I would just bribe you all with food and drinks and have you come over and do it with me. I would even give you guys stuff!! Too bad, right!!!! I'll make that the CHICAGO meet!:rotfl2:
If you're serving those pink drinks, I think we could be tempted! :cutie:

Is it strange to log on to DIS and be dissapointed that there are only 10 new posts for me to read? I need to "back away from the computer..."

I can totally relate....my DH is always telling me the same thing! :3dglasses

Forgive me, but I haven't read any of the posts yet. I try to catch up later...

In the mean time if you can help me with realistic expections of a new Birthday day development, that would be great....

I've got that Birthday schedule moved from MK to AK that morning (opens at 9)
DHS that afternoon (mainly to track down Lightening)
Rest/pool
Dinner at CM at 8 pm

Two things...
I called and got a APS that someone had dropped for 9:40 for Tusker/Donald BF in AK. Is this a BAD idea since the park opens at 9? I can tell you it is a pretty crowded day, but one of the best during our stay to see AK (next day is early EMH, so you know the drill). Our "MUST" see for this park is the Safari, Lion King & Nemo. No River, No Dinosaur, No Everest.

Can I run in at 9 at opening, get in line and do the Safari and make it to Tusker House (which is right by it on the map) by 9:40 ressie? Keep in mind this is the ONLY time they had our trip for this BF. Is this just such a bad time that I should scrap it?

Second... CM for dinner or no? 8 pm sounds SO LATE! Honestly that seems cruel to do to DS. I was thinking maybe go ahead and eat if he is hungry and treat it as an amazingly expensive dessert. We'll be coming from ASmo, so it will be a treck too. I also have CM on our plan for the morning we leave for BF, so either we eat there twice, or I drop one of the two. My deprived child will also be eating at CP and Whispering Canyon during his stay. :)

I've gotten 10 more gray hairs over this birthday schedule today alone!:)

Off to stay awake and think about it all night... :lmao:
Renee

Why don't you run to Safari and get a FP - go eat, then head over to Safari and ride? You can get the schedule for the shows and show up 20 min early to be sure you get in - you have plenty of time to walk around and do whatever since you don't want to do the big rides.

Jillian: glad badookie is better, your plans sound great -does baby boy nap in the stroller?

Tessa: I popped back by your Pre-TR!

Hello everyone else!

Tammie - cool advice for Renee - you sound soooooo laid back and organised, can I please have some of what you are on!! I am at that pre trip terror phase - have I forgotten anything, do I need to do anything else etc..( inside my head is like :yay::scared::yay:)

Tessa

Good morning everyone!

Survived the weekend - family left yesterday evening. Will spend the next few days doing laundry and vacuuming up purple & silver confetti that seems to be everywhere. DD's party theme was Hannah Montana (of course, she will ONLY have a theme for the family party; too cool to do it for her "friend" party next weekend! My baby is growing up!)

Renee - Think it might be kind of hectic doing safari at opening and then rushing over to Tusker House; agree with Tammie's suggestion - grab a FP for safari and then go eat. IMO, if you get to Tusker House a little early, they'll probably seat you. As for dinner, we always eat a little later at Disney - but my kids are older, so they don't seem to mind. I would definitely drop one of the CM ADRs though - don't think that restaurant is worth two meals in one trip. (JMHO)

Jillian - Psyched for the big warm-up these next few days! Spring is just around the corner!

So jealous of all of you leaving soon. I'm still waiting for airline tix prices to drop for my June trip - they're up to over $400 per ticket!:scared1:

Have a good day everyone!

Tessa - "Breathe in; breathe out; breathe in; breathe out" - in a little over a month you will be in the happiest place in the world!
Try not to stress - if you've forgotten something, you can always buy it when you get there.

I'm baaaaack! And absolutely exhausted!!!!! :coffee: OK, where do I begin? I think I'll type up a "quickie trippie" later and post that way, but I wanted to catch up on a couple of posts first!

OK, maybe I'm crazy here, but DH and I have ALWAYS taken advantage of EMH, just to get in the park that one hour early! We go in early May so the crowds are very manageable anyway, but I love EMH! If it does get busy, we just hop to another park around lunchtime. Now here's where DH and I are nuts. I would absolutely try to ride KS before breakfast! But once you read about our weekend, you'll understand the "challenge" that DH and I see in this! :rotfl2: For your first visit though, I agree with everyone else to grab the FastPass and then eat and then basically walk right on KS, and it will still be early enough that the animals should be out and active.

Good morning everyone!
So jealous of all of you leaving soon. I'm still waiting for airline tix prices to drop for my June trip - they're up to over $400 per ticket!:scared1:

Cammie - Go to Travelocity's website and register for Low Fare Alert. I just got one back announcing roundtrip fares for $164 between Akron, OH and Jacksonville, FL. I get these "alerts" whenever prices drop more than $20 at a time. I love this feature! And since my mom can fly down whenever, it works for us - I see a special deal and we book her a flight. But since your trip is still 3 months away, you have time to try this too.

Debbie - OK, love the idea of X in our siggies! :lmao: And I agree with Tammie, just serve us some pink drinks, and I'll clean all day long! But then after a few drinks, you never know where your stuff will end up! :rotfl:
I hate that your clutter guy wasn't more helpful, but I agree to just take it slow and easy, otherwise it is too overwhelming. We did this with our garage, too. DH is very unorganized, so I helped him by just saying, OK, today all we are going to do is get all the yard implements in order. Even though he was excited once that was done, and wanted to do more, I told him to wait and we'd tackle it together later. And at the risk of sounding, well, whatever it may sound like, I used this same logic when trying to get DD to learn to clean her own room. It got so bad after we moved that I told her, OK on Monday, I want you to just clean what is on your dresser. Put everything that does NOT belong there into a box. Then go through the box and put everything where it DOES belong. Then on Tuesday, find all your Barbies that are scattered, put them in a box, then go through the box and put everything where it belongs. It sounds juvenile, but it really worked! By Friday she had her room shipshape! Now she can't keep it clean, so every month or so we do this again, but at least I know now that she can actually clean it herself!

So sorry to hear about your dog! They really are like members of our family so I can understand. Have you given your first shot yet?

Tessa - Sounds like a wonderful Mothering Sunday! I used to love it when all DD could do to my hair was put barrettes in. Once she learned how to work a ponytail holder - OUCH! She'd get it so tight. But I still love it when she plays with my hair, it's so relaxing.... until the ponytail holders come out! :scared1: Glad you had a nice day!

Tammie - What is an Arbonne event?

Jillian - Glad Badookie is better! Wow, your trip is getting close, too! :yay:

Becky - Hope the sleepover went well - DD is well into that now, actually she never had a problem with it, but I did! With her being an only child I almost feel like I'm "competing" for her attention with her friends! She and I are buddies and it kinda bums me out when she'd rather spend more times with her friends than me, I know that sounds terrible!

I know I'm forgetting folks, and I'll try to catch up later when I post my quickie trippie (I just like the sound of that! :lmao: ).

Until then, Happy Monday everyone!

Couple pics from this weekend!

Me and Ally on the way to P&PP!

My little princess - she wore the matching shoes from the room to the front of the building then changed into crocs for the night! So lucky me, I got to carry her shoes with me all night!

Kara - wow lovely pictures - you took the dress then! Did it survive... totally with you on the shoes thing why DO we always end up carrying the pretty ones.... - mind you I bet you were happy she changed and you didn't have to carry a sore footed child around instead. :goodvibes
Can't wait for more tales - and pics ..... did you meet Cap'n Jack????

Cammie - you and Debbie seem to have a very calming influence on me....

My hair just about survived the hair-elastic-attack on Sunday, they were very thorough on using every single hair accessory they have ever owned..... My hubby really really tried to keep a straight face when he saw the result..... and failed.:rotfl:

Tessa

So funny about your hair! My DH can never keep a straight face either when he sees the finished product after DD gets ahold of me! :lmao: But now that my hair is short, she's not interested anymore!

Yes! I took the dress and I checked it out yesterday and you cannot even tell it's been worn! It looks great! But now I'm debating whether or not to take it in May - I found the prettiest tulle Sleeping Beauty dress on disneyshopping.com. AND, when we were at World of Disney on Friday night, we walked past BBB and the FGIT was out there and sprinkling pixie dust on little girls as they passed. She asked Ally if she'd like some pixie dust and my snotty child, just shook her head and walked on!!!:scared1: I got so mad at her (irrational, I know!!!) to the point that DH had to tell me to let it go! Why is she so anti- looking pretty! Why am I so obsessed with keeping my baby a baby??? She did enjoy wearing her Belle gown at least. And I kept pointing out all the pretty hair and makeup on the girls that had been to BBB, but she is just not interested! So I told her that to go get that done, you have to be "invited" by a princess. See, I already have a personalized BBB invitation ready to have slid under our door the morning of her appointment. I just hope that will excite her, otherwise I will be heartbroken!

Yes, we met Capt Jack and let me just say  ! If I didn't know better, I would think it WAS Johnny Depp! He was awesome! DH was laughing at me the whole time! But this guy had the mannerisms, the slurred (kinda sexy) speech, even the look in his eyes - did I already say hubba hubba? Anyway, DH doesn't know how to use our new camera yet so the pics came out awful!!!! Overexposed and blurry! But I'm going to buy a couple from the photopass - 40% off any pics from the party.

Picked both dogs up from the kennel/vet yesterday - $635.00!!!!! Bucky had his final puppy visit while he was there, Bella had her shots and full checkup, plus heartworm and flea/tick medicine for 6 months, plus the boarding fees! AND to top it off, the vet came out to meet with me to tell me that Bella, our 14 year old Italian Greyhound mix is in the early stages of kidney failure. She's not in any pain or discomfort yet, but we need to watch her and start preparing Ally for the inevitable. As much as I get mad when she has accidents in the house - I thought she was just getting ornery - I guess I can deal with the clean up now that I know our "first" baby is nearing the end.

Well, ladies, not sure who is getting the winter weather today, but we are in for another round of horrible storms today. :scared: So I'll be tuned in to the Weather Channel all day, I'm sure.

OK, a couple more pics!

Did I mention how HOT he was? :worship: This was from the parade, which by the way, was AWESOME!!!
2008_0302Christmas0091-1.jpg

Not a great pic but funny story - John Smith was pseudo in character - when they told us that Pocahotas and John were leaving soon but we should get back in line right away for Meeko, Ally asked the CM where Meeko was. John Smith looked at me and said, kinda under his breath, "probably digging in a garbage can somewhere." :rotfl:

LOVE the pix!! Keep em coming! Your DD is adorable and looks like you too.

I will catch up later. I am having a gloomy day but I'm working on it!

Have a good one gang!!!!

Kara I just love the pics you DD is just so darn cute. I am glad to hear her dress made it.

Cammie- Burlington Mall Disney store is closing it's doors tomorrow everything is 50% off they had a ton of little princess dress and cute clothes. I bought DS PJ's and a cute tigger dressed as an Easter bunny.

Hope everyone is great. We are prepping for a lovely rain shower now.

Debbie I hope your day gets a little better. Badookie has been throwing a tantrum all day long.

Hey everyone. Still no decision here on my part on ANYTHING! ha. I've thought about this, and thought about that and just decided I'm in over my head. :lmao: SO... more questions....

1. Is it wrong to not go to DTD?
2. CM - better for dinner or breakfast. Really thinking hard about can that Late BF there the morning we leave. That way we can just play the day by ear with no hurry to be anywhere but to the ME around 3 or so.
3. Donalds Safari BF or No?

I just have no idea about how these breakfast affect your day. In my mind it seems that lines wouldn't be that bad, but then again I can't imagine that the line would be over 30 minutes for ANY RIDE (and I know I'm really wrong too).

Becky - good point about the time difference. I think we will be okay for the CM dinner. Thanks for chilling me out!

Jilllian - Looks like we have similar plans. I'm leaving a couple weeks after you. I'll be dying to hear your opinion on how things worked, and the Safari BF too! Sounds so fun, and yes, I'm completely a obsessive planner on things.

Tammie - Sounds stupid of me, I know, but FP - ???? Here is my fear, I get a FP before our BF and the FP is for a time while we are eating - or will this not happen? How many hours do you typically have from getting a FP to the actual time you ride?

Cammie - Thanks for your advice about CM not being worth two ADR's. I'm in the same position with Crystal Palace now too. Was planning on dinner there the night we get in, and early entry two days later. DS is CRAZY about the SUpper Sluths right now, and is more Jazzed about meeting Tigger and Pooh than Mickey - so I'm thinking two of this place MIGHT be okay. I see one as a first day thing, and the other as the awe of walking in to MK before the masses :thumbsup2 rather than the BF.

Kara - Okay, so give me the low down on the extra magic hours. Does it really make the crowds heavier or is it not really that noticable? And for sake of being really dumb - how crowded is crowded. I mean, can you barely walk, is it just lines for things ????? Great trip by the way! Thanks for the details. I really enjoyed reading them! On a sadder note, sorry to hear about the renal failure too. Been there too unfortunately. Potassium might become an issue later, and there is a potassium gel called Renajel or Renacare that worked well (for your back pocket). Also, one thing that really helped us was actually getting to the point we realized it would be better for everyone if we used doggie pampers. They aren't cheap. We got ours at petsmart, but they worked like a charm. A nice tail hole helps them fit well, and you could rewear them if there were no accidents. It seemed to make our sweetie so much happier to not have accidents on the floor. She knew it wasn't a good thing to do and you could tell she was sooooo ashamed. The pampers took that away, and for that it was worth the money and hastle to me!

Okay enough of my book. Off to bath kiddos and deal with a teething baby. Have I shared with you all I now have 5 weeks to wein a insistant 1 yr old? :scared1: I'm down to only nursing about 6 times a day now. She is NOT HAPPY with the idea - making a little bit more stress for this upcoming trip! She isn't having the whole mile either. :confused3 I'm sure we will get there, but I might just be on prozac by the end!

Good night everyone!
Renee

And by the way, how do you get the little things to add to your signature. I've tried everything I can think of and can't get it to work!

And by the way, how do you get the little things to add to your signature. I've tried everything I can think of and can't get it to work!

The best place to test them out is on the tech support thread (I think!) where there is actually a "test" thread. ARe you talking about the tickers? Basically, I just try to make sure there is

OK, you're going in April, right? Hmmm, not sure about the crowds then as I've never been during Spring Break (unless you can count my freshman year in high school, 27 years ago!!!!) but I know that it can get pretty crowded. Not to scare you or anything, but I would definitely be at the parks for EMH when everyone else is still hitting their snooze buttons! You can get a lot accomplished before the parks get "crowded." Then bail out around lunchtime if you think it's too much. Just remember that a plan is only good if you're also willing to bend a little. I'm a bigtime planner, but as far as the parks go, we basically decide where we're gonna be and then make ADRs around it. All our ADRs are booked now, but Disney just changed some times and actually cancelled Spectromagic the night we were going to go! So we're gonna have to hop a bit more now, but I'm sure it will be fine.

We tried doggie diapers for Bella a couple of months ago when she first began having accidents. They won't stay on her for a couple of reasons - 1) she has a very rounded back (picture a greyhound when they are running) and 2) she sleeps UNDER the covers on our bed, always has, and when she gets up to get out, the diapers catch on the covers and pull right off. Not only that, but the couple of times we tried them, she rebelled by doing #2 in them! Now that was just wrong!!! She is a spiteful little thing!

LOVE the pix!! Keep em coming! Your DD is adorable and looks like you too.

I will catch up later. I am having a gloomy day but I'm working on it!

Have a good one gang!!!!

I'm sorry you're having a gloomy day - hey daylight savings time is almost here - that always cheers me up, an extra hour of sunlight each day!!! :cheer2: And of course DD looks like me - you did say "adorable," right? :rotfl2:

Kara I just love the pics you DD is just so darn cute. I am glad to hear her dress made it. Badookie has been throwing a tantrum all day long.

I was almost hoping the dress wouldn't make it - I wanted another chance to get her a princess gown! Can y'all tell I am seriously stressing over this growing up thing? And tonight she told me about her friend (who is 7, BTW) and is totally boy crazy! Isn't that a little young? I don't like this little girl anyway, she just doesn't set right with me, and it's a shame because DH and I like her parents. They live right down the street from us so we see them all the time, it's not like we can keep DD away from her. But she is one of those "bad influences" that my mom always warned me about!

OK, where does "Badookie" come from? And I don't mean "technically" - my mom taught me that, too! :rotfl:

Tessa - When are you doing P&PP? I loved it so much that I'd do it again if I could, but I don't think the in-laws would appreciate it if we bailed on them one night to do that in May. Just enjoy it for the party, that's my main advice to anyone. We tried to enjoy Magic Kingdom too much, and we should have saved that for our next trip and just focused on the P&PP. Does that make sense? But there was a "feeling" in the air that was exciting. Again, maybe that was Capt Jack giving me that feeling! :rotfl2:

Today was a bit stressful here, too. The weather ended up not being so bad, some mild t-storms thank goodness! But I think poor Bella is already heading toward the "light." She had horrible diarrhea (yeah, I know y'all wanted to hear that!) and made 3 different messes in the house - all on the carpet, couldn't hit the tile now could she? Then the portable steam cleaner started leaking... from the side that had been picked up, so I had to turn around and reclean it all! Luckily we have a fullsize steamer too. Then she threw up twice! Again, carpet! And the puppy decides to get in on the act and piddled twice on the carpet! What is up with this????? I have Yankee Candle wall plug ins all over the house!!! Smells like Clean Cotton! But I just can't keep doing this. We are seriously going to have to recarpet or tile the house when poor Bella is gone. And we've only been in this house for 4 months!!! The vet was so sweet though, telling me not to feel guilty if we have her put down because of the incontinence. I just can't do it though. She's still my baby and I'll suffer through as long as she's not in pain. But the vet said the first sign of discomfort is vomiting - that was just yesterday though, surely today's episode is just something she ate?

Oh, just something else to worry about!

I was in such a bad mood after dinner and cleaning up yet another accident, that I got on the boards and got in one of those battles about strollers. I didn't take a side but I got pretty critical of some of the comments. I usually stay out of those arguments, but I just needed to vent!!!:confused3

Until tomorrow - hump day!

I almost forgot! My lgmh that was attached to my bag? It went "missing" and I swear that DH did something with it! It was on my bag Saturday afternoon when we went to visit his cousin, but when we got back to the room it was gone. Hmmmm...... So I never had the chance for him to hold it for me and get "picked up" by another mommy! :lmao:

We're only having early EMH one day at AK, everywhere else is evening. I'm not too worried about the morning ones, it is the night ones I worry about. Since we won't stay there for the "EMH" part, I'm thinking maybe we should be at a different park that night? You think I'm right on this or no?

We tried doggie diapers for Bella a couple of months ago when she first began having accidents. Not only that, but the couple of times we tried them, she rebelled by doing #2 in them! Now that was just wrong!!! She is a spiteful little thing!

Such memories here. Ours was a pom mix. She had a rounded backside, much like I'm picturing Bella. She even walked more "butt to the floor with the diapers" I THINK my solution was to try a size larger (ie, she really needed an extra small, and I think I used small or maybe med. Anyway, you might want to try that. I TOO went through the #2 in them, and you are right - what is up with that!!!! She only did it twice, but my GOODNESS! Child's diapers have NOTHING on that! We didn't do it until it got really bad and was basically leaking as she walked. Her's was more medically induced as she was on a high dose of anti fluid medication for her heart. I wish I could say something to help - I know it is tough!

Try rice with broth for the tummy upset. Yogurt works too. I've been there and it is so hard. Try to just enjoy the time that you have with her. I will say it is so hard to beat yourself up on the backend for being upset about all the cleaning. Keep in mind through all this you are human too, not a saint. ;)

Tessa

We were taught Disney strategy by DHs uncle, our age, who lives in Anaheim Hills, grew up at Disneyland, and takes a WDW vacation almost yearly! I'm not really laid back, just practical. We have a tradition of DH and Uncle running ahead to the next ride, getting a FP, then joining us back at the one we are going to. We never wait in long lines. WE are there when the park opens, and use the FP strategy... but we don't stop to look at much until later in the day when we've hit all the big rides. Depends on how you want your day.

I'm baaaaack! And absolutely exhausted!!!!! :coffee: OK, where do I begin? I think I'll type up a "quickie trippie" later and post that way, but I wanted to catch up on a couple of posts first!

But once you read about our weekend, you'll understand the "challenge" that DH and I see in this! :rotfl2: For your first visit though, I agree with everyone else to grab the FastPass and then eat and then basically walk right on KS, and it will still be early enough that the animals should be out and active.

Kara, so sorry about your dog - it is hard to lose a member of your family, even if it is a pet. Arbonne is my business, and soon to be Debbie's! It is fabulous natural anti-aging skin care and wellness from Switzerland - so the event was a big Hispanic meeting I brought guests to - really fun! In April I am going to our convention in Atlanta - they are giving us a Tim McGraw concert! I am so excited!

Thanks for sharing your adorable pics! How fun it is that you live so close to the Magic! I am heading over to your trippie!

LOVE the pix!! Keep em coming! Your DD is adorable and looks like you too.

I will catch up later. I am having a gloomy day but I'm working on it!

Have a good one gang!!!!

Sorry you feel gloomy - in the words of Annie, "tomorrow's another day!" Care to come to Atlanta with me and see Tim? I have room, and a 2 hr layover in Chicago on April 8th!

Renee, I copied the wrong post, but the FP time frame they give you is an hour - when you get to the kiosk, it will tell you what the return time is running, so you can be sure, but breakfast should take right about an hour, so it sure work out really well!
