Looking For Control Freaks & Worry Warts too........

In my mailbox is a nice little envelop. :woohoo: It says Disney's Magical Express. :goodvibes I open it up even before we get inside. It has Mickey on it and resembles a little tour guide book. Then I notice all the info is only for DS :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Yikes! :scared: I'd be scared, too! I'd give them another call about mid-month and double check!

Ooh - I love sharing Disney vacation plans - makes me feel like I"m taking more trips than I really am!

Kara - Your plans look good. We also have the Fantsmic dinner package for Mama Melrose's when we go in June. Haven't been to that restaurant in a few years, but I always enjoyed it. Also LOVE LeCellier - a must do every year!

One question though - on day 4 - any reason you're going to DHS, THEN Blizzard Beach and then back to DHS at night? I like DHS, but always find that a half day there would suffice. You could skip DHS and head to Blizzard Beach first thing in the am; spend a few hours; shower off at the hotel; then go to DHS for a few hours before dinner. That way you won't be going back & forth too much. Just a thought.

I'll post my intinerary later and you guys can tell me what you think.

Hmmmm, good question! DH suggested that, too, but won't it be a little chilly in the AM at a water park? Early May? You can tell I haven't been a Floridian for long!!!!!! Don't forget, DMIL and DFIL haven't been to WDW in over 20 years! So I know they will want to do EVERYTHING at DHS. But I guess we could do TL or BB (still not sure which one to do - think we'll let someone ELSE make that call! That way DH and I aren't too "controlling") in the AM, until lunch, then go back to resort and rest, pool, whatever, and head over to DHS around 3 or 4, then head back there either Friday or Saturday to finish up. I like that! Thanx, Cammie! See? I knew there was a reason I joined this little group of crazies! :rotfl2:

I'm thinking of adding another ticker, even though I don't have it booked yet - thinking of Christmas at WL. As we were driving to the mouse house on Friday, I told DH my plans for our anniversary in August - back to BWI and Epcot Food and Wine Festival. He basically gave me the patronizing, "we'll see." But on the way home, he was all for it! He's just like me, only he won't admit it except when he is actually there! So then I mentioned a weekend in December at WL. Don't think we could justify the price difference for an entire week at a deluxe, but if we break it up into little weekends, just for fun.....

BWI has special meaning since we honeymooned there, and WL is supposed to be beautiful at Christmas, right? As for the moderates - we just did POR because we got a decent FLorida resident rate (basically we paid for value season, even though we're in peak season right now). But I can't justify the jump between value and mod if I were paying full price? :confused3 I really saw no benefits except the room was larger. Now there is a huge difference between the mod and dlx - but the price tag is also a big difference. I just think that the value resorts are just that - a great value! It's a bed and a shower for us, that's pretty much it! Now, if I were going every year for 10+ days, I probably would splurge (if it were feasible $$$) on a deluxe because I'd be spending more time there. What are your thought? Now, if DH would just pull the trigger on the DVC......

Oh, now we're debating whether to buy a DVC or a boat! We have the St John's River here which is huge! As much as 5 miles wide at one point! Hmmmm......

Renee, we had the DDP last June - we really liked it, because our meals were budgeted and we could eat anywhere we wanted without wondering about the cost. I don't know what DDP+ is - I can't find it anywhere on the website? :confused3

They made some disappointing changes this year and kept the price the same, making it a much less appealing deal. With the DDP at 37.99 you get 1 CS meal - entree or combo meal, dessert and beverage, 1 TS meal - entree, dessert and beverage, and 1 snack item. for each night. We used to get appetizers, 2 snacks and tips included for that price. DH says he would still like to use it, as we spent and extra $100 a day on the days without the dining plan at AKL. We probably could have eaten less, but over all I think they have reduced the serving sizes, so it is not really that much food.

One year we went with some kind of dining vouchures, and we had huge servings - we shared some meals for these $11.99 vouchures that we got on E-bay! too bad we can't get those now!

What is included in the DDP+ plan?

I don't know what DDP+ is - I can't find it anywhere on the website? :

As I understand it, it is 3 Table Services, 2 Snacks and 1 Refillable mug per room. The price is 69.99 for adults and 19.99 for kiddos.

Too bad they don't have a middle ground. There is no way we'd do 3 TS/day, but 2 - if it was a good deal.

OH- Guys, I'm hearing Ohana's is better than CM. Agree? Some say dinner/some say lunch... With a 4yr old would you do either? If I do replace CM bfast with Ohana, I can do a 8:15. Now, that said does that give you enough time to get checked out, leave your bags with baggage, head to the Ohana's and still get in line well at MK. Would you do this the last day, or would you be in line when MK opens instead and just grab something quick at a bakery. That night we don't fly out until 6.

Renee - Can't remember where your other ADRs are - but can you get a breakfast at CP for your last morning? That way, you will already be in MK and wouldn't have to worry about travel time. Pooh and friends are there and I think it's much better than CMs. If I had to choose a breakfast or dinner at CMs, I'd choose the breakfast. Food at dinner isn't horrible, just not worth what they charge.

Tammie - I think the official term is DDP Deluxe. Like Renee mentioned, it's 3TS/day, plus the two snacks and mug for the price mentioned.

Kara, your plan looks great - the only thing I would say is to drive yourself between all of the parks, back to the resort, etc. or you'll spend 1/2 your vacation waiting for the bus! I will only plan one park a day anymore without a car. But I think we will just rent a car from now on.

.

I'm the psycho one with all the ADRs! :lmao: If that doesn't jog your memory... here goes a refresher on the crazy lady plan...
arrival - CP for Dinner (Pooh & Tigger are DS favs)
day 2 - Tusker House BF, Hollywood & Vine Lunch (thinking of dropping), CM dinner (this is ds birthday)
day 3 - 8:10 CP breakfast, dinner at Whispering Canyon (DS is a ham and loves to interact with people and BBQ & corn on the cob are his favs)
day 4 - presently 10 @ CM (considering dropping this one in order to enjoy the park more, or maybe Ohana's to see :stitch: , at this point.... not sure), fly out at 6
(spending this morning in MK)

So great suggestion, but I have CP booked the day before and with it on there twice...
CS we were planning on Cosmic Rays maybe in MK, Flame Tree in AK, and Pizza Planet (althought I'm scared of what getting him out of there would be like :scared1: ) He is a pizza fan though. LOVES Sabarros (YUCK!).

Man, the more I read of what I write, the more I'm certain I need to be on medication. I know why I'm diving in so deep on this. I'm trying to escape dealing with the fact that my dad is ready for a facility. He has a long list of health issues, but Alsheimers is getting worse. Just so not something I want to admit is happening. So, like the little pink mouse says, this is my therapy these days, so thanks for indulging me and letting me "escape" to think of happier things!

OK, let's here your critiques! I colored by day and bolded those things which are either "must do" activities, or ADRs.

Originally I missed your post. Not sure why. I actually went back to look for it as people kept talking about it. DUH! While I can't really comment on experience, I can tell you I enjoyed seeing how you structured your days. Big help - thanks! I hope it is a wonderful time for you. I can't wait until we can go and spend more time!

Oh good lord - I have been calling you Renee for three pages now! I'm so sorry - I thought I saw your siggy with that name in it! Duh - my bad!

 to you and your dad too.

Okay, not so sure if it is the end of the day or not, but I'm lost. Yep, Renee is me.... Sorry if I got you confused. Nope it isn't officially in my sig. I guess I should put it there. Not too open about flashing info around. Long story. Got a ticket one time. Here in our state, they allow person in prison to process those on your driving record (NICE) so I end up getting stalked by some wack job that i've never met for a while. GEE! Luckily we had an FBI agent we know pay him a visit to tell him to stop it and worked like a charm :thumbsup2 . Nice to have friends like him!

Stalker? Yikes!:scared1: Glad you had a friend with the "right" connections! I wouldn't feel the need to add your real name to your sig. if you're not comfortable with it - around this thread, we all just happen to know most first names. Glad to hear I wasn't going crazy though!;)

Hi Girls,
I’m back. I read through your posts and can I say you are busy planning beavers! Wow! I am jealous. I have to admit though I am a CF (control freak) but when it comes to the daily plans and ADRs I am so… spoiled because my Mom does it all and just confers with me. She is the ONLY person I trust more than myself with any decision-making. The plans you guys all have made look great to me. It is kind of hard to tell people what is best though since all family styles are different along with kid’s ages, ding tastes and mainly sleep patterns right!!! We have always been out the door reasonably early but can never keep our eyes open too late. I always wish I could do the all hours thing but we haven’t yet. Then again my kids are 5 and 2 so I have that excuse.

I read and read and then when I go to post I forget my thoughts plus I can’t type so please forgive me!
UsNew2Disney2008(Renee) Your plans look great! I am so excited for you. Just my two cents. I love CM!! I love those characters! We do a couple breakfasts here and there just to get in MK early!
We are DDP fans but now the price is higher and tip isn’t included so I don’t know if we would do it again. It was a lot of food but we REALLY worked the system.
Also we would pick CM over Ohana. Ohana is spicy meat as opposed to buffet and the dinner at Ohana does NOT have characters. Breakfast WAS good and did have characters.
YES! You are out of control….but that’s OK!!! Also, I hear you on the planning being an escape. It is a more pleasant thing for the mind to do!!! Good luck with your father.
Camster0307 I am not going to be able to bare it when my kids are out of the DS and Gymboree!
BTW It took me a good 10 minutes to figure out what DHS stood for….duh!
karajebo0 (Kara)
Regarding the puppy (Bella) I am sorry for what you are going through. I hate it! It is so hard and sad cause you love them so much!!! My Mom is so depressed these days about our puppy and we were given something to help her. My Mom is in such a funk I don’t even know what to say. The insulin seems to be working. I have done the blood tests but not the actual shots yet. We are lucky enough to have a team effort taking care of her. She is our baby girl. I thought she was 9 but my mom said she is going to be 12.
We did Garden Grill and it was super cute. The place moves in a circle! It was fun!
Kara, if you add a third ticker before I even have one I might have to kill you!
BTW How far of a drive is Jacksonville from Naples Florida?
Magicfor2 (Tammie) I have to go do your thing for ya. Probably won’t be able to swing the conference but I would love to try and see you for your lay over.
soontobewed07 (Jillian)
Glad the baby is better.
Becky2005 Did you survive the sleep over????
tttessa (tessa) Isn’t it funny how we can calm everyone down but ourselves!!!
Lovin Life ( Pam2) Where are ya pal?????
Hi ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ahibird (keahi)
Sewer
Pbharris (Pam )
DisneyOhana (Lisa)

:headache: You guys are really making my head spin…………………

Yes - I've just been lurking. Don't want to feed the troll! But, I agree - there's alot of hostility over there! (BTW - we really enjoy the show; crazy & funny!)

Yeah...she shocks me at times but sometimes she hits a little too close to home I think!

BTW LOVE the NEW tickers! Saved it for when I can make one!

Oh and DH leaves tomorrow. Driving him to the airport at 5:30 AM. I am NOT a morning person so this will be dreadful!

I so want to read your posts but once again I have to post quickly. I have had some busy days and am trying not to hang out on the computer (my favorite escape to avoid my "to do" list).
DH leaves early tomorrow so I will have the computer all to myself at least. I'll be back. I swear you are going to think I am nuts but I think of you guys all the time and talk to you in my head all day long! I wish it were that easy to post but then you would surely be sick of me.

The control freak I am still messed up. I forgot to get DH and pals seats on the flights!!!!!!!!! What a bonehead move.

I'll be back. Maybe tonight if I'm lucky.
I feel very guilty I haven't read your posts to see how you all are....I see trip planning going on too so I must catch up and live vicariously through you!

Debbie, I think about you gals all the time, too! I think we are DIS obsessed! I really appreciate the friends I have here.
