Thanks, Pam! How exciting about your anniversary trip! In four years, I think we can take a Disney cruise to Hawaii - do both! You'll have to do a repeat! :cheer2:

Hi Everyone! We're back - got in at midnight last night. Trip was GREAT! My brother, sister-in-law and nephew just left for their drive back to Jersey. Girls are going with their father for the night (I get one night of rest before it's back to the daily grind!) I'll post more pix and thoughts later. Also need to catch on previous posts.

Hope everyone has had a good week!

Cammie

OMG Debbie where did you get that shirt that your son has on the one about being on the NICE List? I need that for my DS's that would FIT the perfect!!!

Okay, I'm so excited - had to share! They just announced our company trip for next year - Cancun, Moon Palace, All-Inclusive!!   It rates 6 apples at Apple Vacations! I can't wait to start earning it!!!!! We get double points for December:yay:

Okay, good nite.

Hiya all,

is Cancun in Mexico??

Welcome back Cammie - can't wait for more pics - Debbie has been doing us proud- I want to stay in that Disney mood - got to be sustained till April!!!!!

Well, we had a BUSY weekend!!!
Friday evening helped out at the school Christmas Fayre (given the tombola to run, so had an easy time...) - bit early if you ask me, but hey ho (or is that ho ho ho:rolleyes:)

Saturday - eldest's birthday/cinema/food trip - WENT REALLY WELL!!! Can see why a lot of you like this sort of party - minimum effort for maximum fun. Had to book seats at the cinema, book a table at Frankie and Benny's - and get them there and home - that was it !!! easy thankfully. Did little party bags - small choc bar, little bag of gummy bears and some pretty hair clips - we are doing the party bag backlash over here right now - some were getting silly - bigger than the presents we were giving!!!!!

We took the girls to swimming lessons on Sunday - they BOTH got their 25m badge and certificate :woohoo:and got moved up TWO classes 'cos they were doing so well!!! Very proud parent moment!!

Then Sunday lunchtime was MIL 70th birthday do - at the pub, thankfully has been refurbished since our last visit!!! So not smelly at all! Food a bit overcooked (normal for UK I'm afraid!!) but family enjoyed their day. Also managed to speak to illusive SIL about Christmas etc and sort out presents for hers/ours and timings on visits - so a VERY productive weekend.

My stepmum is staying this next weekend coming, so got to tidy up, move the piano from the spare room () and get some food for our family celebration for eldest's birthday - just everyone here for tea and a get together on Saturday really - lets hope things continue to go well....

Bye for now - please please please keep the pics coming I am in a Holiday mood and I want to stay there!!!

Tessa

Hi Tessa! You were really busy! Congrats to your girls on their badges!

What is a tambola? Glad you had a nice birthday party. Sounds like the kind I like to do - simple, with someone else doing the clean up :rotfl2:

Hope the rest of your week goes well.

Oh, and yes, Cancun is in Mexico - not such a long flight for us on the West Coast! Hope you had a happy Monday!

Hi Everyone!!

Welcome home, Cammie!! I am glad to hear that it was great, and can’t wait to hear more!

Pam – What a nice surprise for DH! The Poly sounds beautiful. We just saw it from the front when the monorail stopped there, but didn’t go in. Hawaii and Disney cruise sound good, too!

Tammie – Lucky you! You always have a trip to look forward to. I am glad to hear that you are feeling better. DQ sounds like my kind of meal! I try to watch it when I can, but sweets are my downfall, and being on the go, we are somewhat junk food junkies. It’s almost impossible this time of year! There are so many wonderful treats that we associate w/the holidays. I’ll be better starting in January!popcorn::

Tessa – Here, Santa says, ho, ho, ho! :santa: Does he say Hey ho! by you? Interesting! I think it's neat to learn these things. Early? For Christmas? One of our radio starts playing Christmas music Nov 1! We got our outside decorations out yesterday, so now we have them all up – inside and out, and I feel like we were late because of our Disney trip. Congrats to your girls! That’s great that they are good swimmers. I think that is such an important skill to have. I am glad the bday and pub parties were a success! It’s nice to hear that you got some business taken care of at the pub w/SIL! I agree about the gift bags. People get silly/extreme w/them over here, too. I wish we could do away w/them. If we can’t keep the favors small, isn’t the party enough? OK – I am w/Tammie – What is a tombola?? I had to look it up, and an online dictionary said “a lottery in which tickets are drawn from a revolving drum”. Is that close? A Christmas carnival sounds fun. Good luck w/the MIL visit!

Debbie – Sleet and snow?? Yesterday, it was 81 degrees by us!! Today, the high is supposed to be 60. We had the AC on yesterday, and had to turn the heat on before bed. It was going to dip into the 30's! It's craziness, and it's a wonder that everyone is not sick!!

I licked out two Christmas gifts at lunch today!! :yay: I am almost done w/my girls, and will be after a trip to the American Girl Store and American Eagle this coming weekend. I have a plan for the rest of my family. I do need to make some things w/my digital pictures, so I need to get on the ball. I am also going to make some candied pecans this weekend. I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR!!!!! It’s so much fun!!

I got the Wii!!!! I was 12th in line at Best Buy at 5:15am, and they passed out 50 tickets at 9am. Their ad said they would have 18. I waited in line until opening at 10am because I was after a couple of more things. We got some other cool things to go with it. It's a gift for the whole family - including DH and I. It's the first year we've decided we aren't going to exchange anything else. That is going to be weird, but I am glad. With both of our birthdays close to Christmas, and so many others to buy for, I've asked for that from the beginning, but DH finally agreed to it - after 17 years of marriage and 4 of dating! I think that he thinks the Wii and extras are JUST for him. I DON'T THINK SO! The Playstation 2 is his. The girls or I have never taken an interest in it. We'll all share the Wii, but I reminded him that it was me that was in line to get it, and SOMEONE was snuggled in bed!:lmao: I'm just joshing, and having fun. I haven't been this excited in a gift in a long time! (If you know something bad about them, please don't burst my bubble!)

We have a Christmas carnival this Friday night at DD's old day care. They both started there when they were babies, and it will be good to see everyone. They went there some as late as last summer, but they'll be staying home this summer. I'll save this story for another day. Saturday night, I am babysitting our neighbor friends' little ones w/DD9, while DH and DD14 go to her band concert. She's having another concert next week, so I am OK to miss this one. Sunday, we are celebrating December bdays at my mom's, and visiting w/my grandma.

Have a super week, all!
:grouphug: Pam2

Hiya -

Congrats on the Wii - sold out mostly in the UK.

I never thought tombola's weren't universal!! Maybe you call it something else??

Well, we have 2 of every ticket(just a number on it)- one ticket is taped to a prize the other ticket goes into a drum with a crank handle and a little door on it (along with lots of "losing" tickets) - you crank it round, pull out a ticket and see if it matches a prize - ours were if it ends in a 5 or a 2 you won something. Very easy to run!!

And no - santa still goes ho ho ho here, "hey ho" is just one of my little sayings (instead of the teenage "WHATEVER!" )

Must sort out Christmas shopping, been putting it off - aaargghh and card writing, and tidying up, and sorting the lights, and sorting the decorations - I haven't got enough hours in the day!! Hubby will : help choose the tree, put it up in it's stand and buy me a present or 2 - it's really not fair is it!!!

Cheers,
Tessa

For a LONG time, I have said -- as much as I love being feminine, a woman, wife, mother, daughter, etc., etc., I have decided that in my next life (if we have them), I would like to be a man and have a man's life, just to see what it is like. End of comment.:rolleyes1

Hi Gang,
I am trying to not diss too much on the dis because my house is disgusting!! I have so much to do and I am not getting enough done. I am going to go pump some caffiene and see what I can get done this afternoon!

Good news...DH has some things to think about with the work situation but it could work out well. Bad news....they called me back for another mamogram & ultrasound. Now I am trying not to over react but I am going up and down about it. It does amaze me that I can get a 100 times more worked up about Thanksgiving or Christmas Eve and then I this roll off. See! I am nuts! I am hoping my insticts are right and it's nothing. It was my first and they don't have a baseline for me.
Pixie dust please!
OMG Debbie where did you get that shirt that your son has on the one about being on the NICE List? I need that for my DS's that would FIT the perfect!!!
Old Navy! I love it...There is a girl & a boy one.

Yeah for you! That is awesome!!!!

For a LONG time, I have said -- as much as I love being feminine, a woman, wife, mother, daughter, etc., etc., I have decided that in my next life (if we have them), I would like to be a man and have a man's life, just to see what it is like. End of comment.:rolleyes1

I AGREE!!!!!!!!! Nothing more does need to be said does it!

Pam (Pbharris) I am so excited for you with that trip! It sound GREAT!!!!!!

Tessa...glad your party worked out and that you are happy and healthy on your other end of the world!
Camster.....what ya doing??? (As Hannah Montana would say)

Debbie - Pixie dust coming your way - pixiedust: I'm sure it's nothing.

I, too, have been so busy! I do love being at Disney this time of year, but boy do I pay for it when I get back. My house is still half decorated for Thanksgiving and half decorated for Christmas. Am trying to run out when the girls are at school to do xmas shopping since I had not started at all before vacation.:headache: Also sorting through my 265 pictures and 250 on photopass to pick a christmas card photo. Also would like to get around to posting some here; plus I had pre-ordered the photopass cd so I want to add my borders and signatures to those photos before I put the order in. On top of that, there's baking for class parties, teacher appreciation lunch and cookies I make for teacher gifts. YIKES :scared1: there are NOT enough hours in the day!

Tammie - Congrats are the Cancun trip. Hope you make it - where there's a will, there's a way!
Pam - Congrats on the Wii. I didn't realize they were that hard to get. I'm clueless! It looks fun though - would love to hear your thoughts on it when you get it up and running.
Tessa - Congrats on your daughters' swimming accomplishments - brag away; it's why we have kids, isn't it? I will definitely get around to posting some pix soon.

Hi to everyone else. Will check back in soon.
Good luck with everything Debbie!:)

I'm pathetic - can't bear to remove my ticker from my sig. Still also need to add my tree and worry-wart!

Debbie - pixiedust::tink: loads of pixie dust to you - hopefully it will be nothing.

going out tonight - it is our mid day supervisor's Christmas meal - :woohoo:first time out without hubby in goodness knows when..

Cheers
Tessa

Debbie - Pixie dust pixiedust: and prayers to you. I think it is just because we are getting older! I had that happen to me last time, and I was so worried. Everything turned out OK - it was just tissue, and nothing that can be done about it. Keep your chin up. Those things are not fun anyway, and going in for a second one, double yuck.

You guys still have that pickle man in your siggy! He makes me laugh!

Tessa - Hiya! I don't know what a tombola would be called here, but I know exactly what you are talking about, and we have them. Have fun on your dinner date!!

Cammie - I have a date w/our PC and my pictures this Friday night. I HAVE to get it done, and the photo gifts ordered, so we have them in time for Christmas! I need to get a SD card reader so I can do it at lunch during the week. There's been too much to do in the evenings, and by the time I get computer time at the desk, I am too tired to start the picture project. I have forewarned my family that I will be monopolizing the computer Friday evening.:)

How's the shopping going everyone? I am leaving MIL and FIL's main gifts to DH, and that being said, I am just about done. I got two done at lunch today. I am not bragging, but excited!! and I want to be done so I can go to the mall and just enjoy looking at the Christmas decorations w/out having to buy anything. I wish the time would slow down. Like with our Disney trip, I don't want Christmas to be here and gone. Time is going way too fast. Do you remember how when you were a kid, the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas seemed like forever?? I wish that were so now!

Have a great day everyone! I am so excited because I am off work tomorrow! :yay: I hope that the weather is nice (cold is OK, but no rain) for DD10's field trip.

:grouphug: Pam2

Happy Hump Day! :woohoo:

Debbie - I hope everything went ok today. Keep us posted.

I finally got around to uploading photos. Ordered my xmas cards through shutterfly; still need to do my cd on photopass. Here's one from MGM-Osborne Lights
