Debbie - I am feeling better today and I hope I can keep up w/everyone on here. That Mouse Radio is so.... cool. The only problem is that I want to buy all the music. Thanks again for the link.

I hear ya. I just don't know how to do it. I did subscribe though and it is really nice uninterrupted. They offered a trial and a discount.

Debbie - :hug:hope your DD gets better soon - and doesn't pass it round.

Ours is (of course) fine now we are home from holiday - we got used to her being sick (in a bucket type sick!!) EVERY time we go away - nerves/anxiety or something - so hope the plane has extra large puke-bags when we fly in April!!!! we asked her if she just didn't want to go away or something and she nearly shouted the place down -"I LOVE holidays" "I want to go away" etc... so we are desperately hoping she will grow out of it!

Cheers,
Tessa

Crazy isn't it! Maybe this is why we stress!!! We know what's around the corner...

I always am envious of those peolple who walk aroung in "la la":cloud9: land. They don't overthink, overstress, they don't even "go there".....I am jealous of that!

Hi all - back from our trip to NJ and it lasted longer than originally planned - and not in a good way.

I know I haven't mentioned before but older dd Amanda is special needs and has some complicated medical issues - the most serious being her respiratory function. She has a trach and over the past year has required a ventilator at night to help support her breathing. To us this is all no big deal - been dealing with it her whole life and quite frankly with everything I'm capable of doing with this child, I could open up my own practice. Anyway, long story short - Amanda got sick in NJ (fever, coughing). Knew when we got back to Mass. she would need to see her doc. Unfortunately, on the way home Monday, driving through NY, she really started to have a hard time. I had to pull over in a rest area and call 911; taken to a small hospital and then moved to a larger med.center to be in ICU. I knew she wasn't seriously ill and if we were in Boston, she would not have been hospitalized, but these docs didn' weren't taking any chances. So there were, me and my girls stuck in NY. Fortunately, my family was just an hour and half away - they came and took my youngest and I stayed at the hospital. Took 2 days to get Amanda's doc from Boston to communicate with the NY doc and give the a game plan. Happy to say we finally came home last night. Three hour drive - at night - in the rain - with my ex in the car! Fun time!

Amanda is very stable, on a course of antibiotics and requiring her vent. 24/7 right now while fighting this illness. We're stuck in the house for the next couple of days, so in between taking care of her, I'm catching up on the dis! We all may be sleep-derived, but trying to get back to normal life.

Anyway, on a lighter note, I've seen a couple of posts about a website for music of WDW. Has anyone seen the cd "Celebrating 50 Years of Disneyland Music"? It has all the music from the rides. We like to listen to that to get psyched for our trips! 30 days and counting!:dance3:

Camster.......Sorry to hear about your DD. It's always better to be than sorry in those situations. Hopefully she will be over her illness soon. 3hrs in a car with an ex husband....I bet that WAS fun.

Debbie....sorry to hear your little one is ill as well. I just got my flu shot this a.m. and the girls get theirs on Saturday. Hope it doesn't get us sick. I sent you a short email.

Pam2.....I hope your mom is OK!

Lisa........How have you been lately? Is everything Ok? PM me if you want to chat.

:grouphug:

Have to run people.....my days "off" are never really my days "off!"

I am so sorry for what you went thru! I hope she recovers quickly!!!

I think part of the reason I am not a huge fan of fall is all the illness that seems to happen this time of year! I hate it!!!!

Good to see you stopping by Pam!

Debbie - I hope that DD gets well soon, and doesn't pass along her germs! I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed that no one gets sick in this bunch before or during our trip. Any news on Thanksgiving? Sorry to bring it back into your memory if you have temporarily forgotten about it.

Pam - I am debating getting my flu shot Nov 7 or 8, when they offer it at work. I haven't gotten sick from it in the past, but don't want to take any chances. Haven't decided yet. I cannot make my kids get one. I know that I should. Are you working outside of your home? I didn't know that you did.

Tessa - How nice that you had a break from school and work! I don't know about your movie choices, but my DDs saw Ratatouille w/the grandparents and loved it. Stardust looked interesting, but don't know if it's good for kids. We want to see some that are coming out over the holidays, especially the toy shop one with Natalie Portman and Dustin Hoffman. I love your quote in your siggie!

Cammie - Sorry to hear about your trip and your DD's experience. I'm glad that she's better. I need to look at the Disneyland CD. I am wanting some Disney music. I love the CD's where the current music/Disney stars sing the classic Disney songs.

Tomorrow is Friday!!! Yippee!!!:cheer2:  :yay:

Our pediatrician always insisted Amanda get a flu shot because of her medical needs - and I agree, whether it helps is anyone's guess. I used to have Lauren get one, but without fail, after getting her flu shot, she would get a whopping flu that winter. I don't have her get it anymore and she deals with nothing worse than a bad cold every winter. I know the docs says it's a myth that the flu shot gives you the flu - but in my house, I think it does!

I am paying full price ($99/night) for POP on our trip, and I was hoping to find a code. The one I found expired Oct 20. If you all happen to see one, would you please pass it along by PM or email? Our dates are Nov 16-22.

Thanks!:flower3:

Have you surfed the boards for a November code? It might be too late:guilty: I will keep my eyes open for ya.

I am so flippin excited.:cheer2:
I was playing around with my TIVO last night and I saw that I could stream the live365 music through the TV!!:happytv: Now I can play all that park music on my TV!!!!:cool1: Granted I subscribed to the VIP package but they offered a two-week free trial and then half off the first three months I think. I will have to monitor the costs to make sure it’s worth it. That IN PARK music REALLY makes my day!!!

I am still stressing but also dealing…..
The Thanksgiving discussion will surely come up this Sunday at a joint birthday family party so PLEASE send pixie dust my way that day that everything works out. I know I seem ridiculous. When I read my posts back they seem so silly but in my little family dynamic this is a high stressor for me. I know there are so many bigger problems in life, etc. etc. I do feel guilty when so many people have bigger, more real, more valid problems in life but I hope you guys don’t mind letting me vent to you.
Thanks!

Cammie...How is DD holding up? Speaking of bigger problems in the world... I hope she is getting stronger and feeling better!!!!

Happy to report she is sooooo much better! Today is the first day I've been able to take her off her vent and she's breathing just fine on her own. Is still needing a little O2, but no big deal - hopefully she'll be off that by the end of the weekend! She's such a strong kid!:thumbsup2

Please - vent away! It's healthier to get it out of your system. And I always say, it's all relative. If it's a big deal to you then it's a big deal. I can offer one solution though - move three states away like I did. Then everyone can come to YOU for the holiday. The drawback to that though is that family doesn't just stay for the day, you're stuck with them for a couple of days. Which could be a good thing or a bad thing - depending on your family!;)

Thanks, Debbie. I've probably waited too long for the codes. If I luck upon a new one, I would probably only save $10/night for our dates, but that would be an extra $60 in our pocket! One just expired on 10/20, so I will keep my eyes open for a new one.

That's cool about the 365 radio! I cannot get it to work on my laptop yet, and I hardly ever get to sit at my desktop (thanks to DH and DDs), so it would not be worth it for me to pay for it. If I get it to work at the office, I would do it in a heartbeat! I am going to get some techie help!

Pixie dust to you!!! If you can't vent to your friends, who can you vent to? We all do it, so vent away!!

OK now - I'm going to vent a little about my family going to WDW w/us, but I need to do it later - gotta run!!

TGIF!! Have an awesome weekend, everyone!!!

Pam2

Oh... and one more thing...My Sister-in-law is probably going to say that she doesn't want to get up that early to put the turkey in. Isn't there a way now that you don't have to cook a turkey that long? How long do turkey's take (my Mom has taken care of the turkey cooking in our house)...
Thanks girls! I love ya!

I've been lurking for a couple of weeks and thought I would introduce myself.
I'm Dawniell. And I'm definetly a control freak. Not so much a worry wart- unless it's about something I'm trying to control. So, I guess maybe I am a worry wart.
Anywho, I'm busy planning a trip for next Sept for my daughters 5th birthday. I started planning it a couple months ago and have changed it like 10 times. I think I'm finally happy with the dates I picked and am ready to start ironing out the details. Everyone thinks I'm nuts for planning this early but after reading this thread I can see that nobody here will think that. And I'm very glad for it.
Back to work.
Don't be a stranger.

I think it's called Honey Baked Hams (they have turkey there, too), Kroger, Tom Thumb (two of our groceries that do Thanksgiving dinners and turkeys), or many of the other places out there that will cook the turkey for you!:rolleyes1

Do convection ovens cook faster? I thought I've heard that, but I guess you'd have to have one of those.

:grouphug: We love you, too! You're the best for starting this wonderful thread of friends!

When my grandma comes to visit around the holidays, the girls and I will pack up and go to my parents for several days at a time. It's wonderful in so many ways, but we do end up getting on each others nerves towards the end! DH stays home to take care of the dogs. I think it's an excuse...:confused3 :)

OK - We have certain things that we do on all of our WDW trips - Rainforest Cafe and Downtown Disney on our first day, breakfast at CRT, CP and the Fantasmic Package at H&V. My sister is challenging everything, especially here lately. I think she's had time lately to think about everything, and she is not planning this trip, and it's bothering her! I told her that they do not need to do everything that we do. I know I am being a brat, but it was our trip first! They wanted to come along. I am so glad that they are, but I am not opposed to going our separate ways occasionally, and hope that we do! There's a lot more to it, but a lot to type. My parents want to do everything that the kids want to do, but my sister has other plans. I am just frustrated!!:headache:

Thanks for listening!

I know I am being a pest, but I am so ready to start the weekend -

Is there a Thanksgiving thing, either a turkey or pilgrim, that we can put into our signatures?

Just getting ready for when Halloween is over...

Do you mean like the "boo"? I have this pic?
