Pam - I love your Spartan cheerleader picture! We are Will Ferrell fans. I guess we'll be watching Elf before we know it!

I've been a big fan of the DVR/Tivo lately. I'm getting ready to watch Private Practice. After having it for about a year, I am finally starting to use it. We just finally broke down and got caller ID a couple of months ago, and I don't like it. I guess I am a little behind the times!

Wow! I was so busy yesterday, and you guys have been really chatty!

Thanks to everyone for going through my trip memories with me! It's fun to share - glad you liked the pics! I am not really back to my life, but I'm trying! I'm playing catch up, I have my DS and his wife and baby Mason here for the week  I'm having my In-laws over for turkey dinner tomorrow - I am trying to get some work done, and we leave on Wed for Anaheim! Not sure we will see DL, but we are planning a couple of fun days before and after my conference, so who knows. We'll be coming back on the 29th. Maybe November will settle down, although my calendar is really full - that's a good thing!

OKW Mom, Thanks for the reminder - worked for a surgeon, I know you're right, and yet it's so much easier just to keep assuming everything is fine.

Camster: I did use the photopass and I really enjoyed it! The only thing is, try to find those photographers every chance you get. We only ended up with 17 pics on ours.

Debbie: How is your back?

Sewer: Good luck with your little stud. I had one of those - he got married at 18, had a baby a year later, and now has 2!!! He is 22 now. I really wanted him to play baseball in college, but he was in love  Everything is fine, but I never see my "fun guy" anymore - he has too much on his plate - working full time and going to school as well as being a daddy. Don't let him date until he's 18 :rotfl2:

Lisa, what did you decide about the wedding?

Hello everyone! I am going to finish my TR before I go to bed:

I forgot to tell about a really fun thing we did on Monday. As my friend and I were walking around the grounds, we walked over to "the cove" This is the exclusive area- has private bungalows on the beach with private hot tubs and their own pool area - I think I saw Penelope Cruz - we stopped to talk to the security guard, he told us we were "the two ladies he was told would be joining a guest there." We really didn't catch on to what he was saying - we kept saying, "no, we're not meeting anyone." We are really blonde!! :rotfl2: Jenny asked if we could use the restroom, and he sent us in. We had a drink at the pool bar there - really cool area - the infinity pool has huge benches with cushions all around it, some even on islands in the pool, and the lounge chairs had thick pads on them with built in umbrellas. The bartender treated us like we were really special - top shelf booze with top shelf prices! :thumbsup2

Wed: We met for coffee again, and then we walked around the shops for awhile. We met at 11 at Murray's delicatessen out at the Marina - fun diner! Great food and fun service! Bev and I went shopping at Pirhana Joe's for my family, then we went outside the resort to some shops in town - found fun souveniers and some surley service! We went to a craft market - I bought a hand-woven purse for myself, and a tiny little one for Londynn. We met back at the pool for drinks, went down the serpent slide a few times - you end up floating through the shark tank slowly (in a plastic tube) so you can watch the fish and sharks - way cool! :hippie:

Jenny went down the Leap of Faith, so I said I'd buy her a drink to celebrate - it started raining, so we ran over to the bar - they said it was "last call." We ordered a drink and started talking to a really nice family from England! We just kept sitting and talking while they cleaned up and closed the bar. We had a great time comparing notes for about an hour!

We had to hurry to get ready for dinner to meet everyone. We went to the buffet at The Cove tower. AWESOME!!! I have never had a buffet like that! Sushi, steak, all kinds of shrimp - gourmet salad bar - made to order stir fry - made to order crepes - all kinds of gourmet soups and breads and cheeses and fruits and desserts - thick dutch cocoa dispenser - Fantastic service!!! We had a great time, and we made ourselves sick! I mean we didn't know if we could keep it down sick. I think it was worth it!

We took a beautiful walk down the beach in the dark, and all around the beautiful resort! I felt a little like a 5th wheel taking this walk with two couples, but they didn't act like I was.

Bev and I took a walk through the casino and out into the shops - I tried on a bracelet in Emeralds International, and before I knew it, I had bought some new diamond earrings! I wasn't really planning on any major purchases - I didn't have too much to drink, so it must have been the food that made be groggy! :rotfl2: Anyway, my souvenier cost me $30 in the customs line, but I love them! My DH should have gone with me to prevent the carnage! I went up to bed at midnight - needed to get up and pack, and oh my! I still couldn't lay down with my stomach so full. I kept the tV on and slept sitting up for awhile! :goodvibes

THURS:
Last morning in paradise! I packed up and met my gang for breakfast at the buffet - somehow didn't have any appetite :rotfl: I did have to have the banana thingys, though. We checked out and headed out to face the angry cab drivers!

Our cab driver didn't speak to us all the way to the airport - he charged us more than was legal - said something about a surcharge for our bags - Jack told him he got no tip for trying to rip us off! Going through customs was such a joy - was a mess! Anyway, we had lots of time to visit - buy some soap, eat a snack, have a drink..... My plane took off an hour late, and I only had a 35 minute window to catch my plane in Miami! :scared1: It turned out okay - we made up a little time, and because our whole plane was on the same flight to Houston, they held the Houston flight for us! :goodvibes The flights were good, just seemed so long - no movies. We actually got dinner from Houston to Portland in coach! I haven't heard of that in a long time!

I almost missed my plane to Portland, after a 2 hour layover. I was eating a sandwich, talking on the phone to my BFF, and sitting at the wrong gate, so I didn't hear the announcement. I looked at the clock, and OH **** I ran to the gate just in time to be one of the last stragglers :rotfl2: At least I didn't have to wait long for take off!

When I got home it was cold and rainy and my luggage didn't make it! My DH found it at the airport the next day at 11am - not so bad. He didn't tell anyone he picked it up, so the airlines left me one message that they didn't find it, and then called again to see if maybe we got it! :lmao:

So there you have the end to my Paradise days - I'm so glad I went, but I would really want my DH there for the romantic walk next time!

Thanks for reading!

Magicfor2 : Sounds like a really nice place there, and a good time was had despite the few final hiccoughs. Making me look forward to our trip tomorrow - supposed to be sunny!!! yippeeeee! Though temperatures in the 50s are maybe a bit lower than you had!!!

Littlest is OK now - just a 24hour bug thank goodnesss.
Had my hair coloured darker brown - winter spiced chocolate with chestnut tones I think it was called, sounded like you should eat it, not put it on your hair!!

Debbie: another rocker here!!! Went to see Van Halen in the UK in the mid 80's at "The Monsters Of Rock" festival at Donnington Park - they rock!!(oh my Gosh - shows my age.....43 now - the kids at school can't believe this respectable chubby mummy used to be a rocker and if truth be told a metal head too..Iron Maiden anyone...:)) Hope your back is better...

Got ALL our ADRs when we wanted, so now can breathe a bit till we have to actually PAY for the holiday next month... Got a lovely bound notebook that I'm keeping our info in and am thinking of scrapping in it too - to show the whole picture of our holiday of a lifetime... - kind of a hand made "altered book" thing... have to see if it works.

Anyhow - hi too all and bye to all -going to go pack for our long weekend, then I can chill a for bit before work.
It is such a gorgeous Autumnal day here - sunshine, a sparkling heavy dew, blue skies - cold but nice. You can see your breath condensing in the air - my little ones called it "dragon's breath" and weave stories of princesses and castles on the walk to school - what a lovely day it is turning out to be... (can you hear the contented sigh..:goodvibes)

Cheers all,
Tessa

Pam - I love your Spartan cheerleader picture! We are Will Ferrell fans. I guess we'll be watching Elf before we know it!

I've been a big fan of the DVR/Tivo lately. I'm getting ready to watch Private Practice. After having it for about a year, I am finally starting to use it. We just finally broke down and got caller ID a couple of months ago, and I don't like it. I guess I am a little behind the times!

Hi Pam! I think the Spartan Cheerleaders is my favorite Will Ferrell skit. That and the Cow Bell thing. I used to be a cheerleader in high school, but I wasn't THAT spirited. :rotfl:

Speaking of DVR/Tivo..they just installed my new HD DVR yesterday. So now we have 3. 1 in the basement for DH's sports, they moved my old one to the family room and that'll be for the girls, and then mine. We bought a flat panel TV for my bedroom (early Xmas present). What's neat is there's caller ID on the TV. Tivo is the best thing since sliced bread!

We didn't have caller ID for the longest time, but it came with the phone package and let me tell you...I can't live w/o out. Our last name is HArris so we get tons of calls for every "Tom, Dick, and Harry" Harris in the U.S. So it's a great screening tool. We have superb credit, but get calls for all the other Harris people who don't. (Sigh) This is why I love caller ID. But everyone is different. I don't like Call Waiting. When I am on the phone and I get one of those calls, I have to wait to get off the phone or it automatically goes to the other caller and then they keep calling.

Oh...check out You Tube and search for Jim Carrey doing the SPartan Cheerleader thing with Will and Cheri Oteri. That had to be the funniest one!

Hello everyone! I'm trying to figure out how to keep up but not doing such a good job. My fault for being on so many large threads.

I am a bit freaking out with Halloween around the corner and I have to make my 2 older ones costumes. I'm nearly done wtih my DS-10's but haven't even started on DD's and hers is going to take me forever. :scared1:

My little guy's birthday was on Tuesday and we are having his party Sunday, so I need to get the house a bit more cleaned up than it is now. Then I can concentrate more on the sewing. I do way better under pressure though.

I'm nervous for DD as next week is cheerleading try-outs. :cheer2: She made the squad last year so I'm not nearly as freaked out as I was last year but it ended up being all the girls that tried out made the squad last year. From the sounds of it this year, more girls are going to try-out which will mean more cuts. EEK!!!! The good thing going for her is she's a gymnast and they get bonus points if they can do some of the higher tumbling moves. She has a meeting tomorrow morning -- which I'm sure means "here is the list of stuff to turn in $$$" for. We had to order the extra stuff last year before we even knew if they made the squad or not. :confused3 Basically you had to turn in the form along with the check to even try-out. I guess if you didn't make it, they wouldn't have placed your order? I have no idea.

Tonight she is going out to a Bavarian Lodge place to eat dinner with her Foreign Language Club -- I'm nervous for her, she's a picky eater so I'm not really sure how well this is going to work out. We did get a list of the entree's she could choose and she said one of them sounded good, so hopefully she doesn't come home starving because she hated it or something.

Hey everyone!

I am leaving for WDW tomorrow around dinner time. I can't wait! I have that nervous/excited feeling in my stomach.

Of course, I am worrying and stressing a bit. DS has croup. We went to the pediatrician yesterday and I wish she would have written me an antibiotic rx "just in case". His cough sounds really bad. If it doesn't sound better by tomorrow, I think I am going to take him in to the MD again to have his chest listened to. I am also going to take our nebulizer to Disney. The positive part is that DS is running and playing as usual. Hopefully he will make a full recovery in a few days and the other two don't get what he has.

I am off to finish packing and cleaning while DD and DS are sleeping. I will check in before I leave.

Tinklvr - Sooooooooo jealous - you'll be in disney tomorrow! Have fun and hope your DS feels better!(I would really try to convice his dr.to give you a prescription"just-in-case" - you'll be on vacation; the last thing you'll want to be doing is tracking people down over the phone if it gets worse!)

Pam2 - I think I have read that you can download your own pix onto photopass cd. There is a thread on these boards with someone who is quite the expert. If I come across it, I'll let you know. But, like Tammie mentioned, the cd won't be worth it if you don't track down those park photogs - which shouldn't be hard to do! Everytime I saw one, I had them take our pix - hence the 240 pictures on my cd from last year!

I hope your son starts to feel better and the others don't get it as well. That happened to us in June. DD got a fever 2 hrs before we had to leave for the airport. Two days later both myself and my other DD had it at the same time. Luckily it lasted only a day or two. Advil came in handy on that trip. Hope all goes well and you all have a wonderful trip!

Maureen - Have fun!!! and I hope that DS is feeling better! One of us always seems to have some little bug right around the time we're ready to leave. It's Murphy's Law, isn't it?

Debbie - I cannot hear the Disney music! I need to try again. My phone ring is the Mickey Mouse Club theme. I have to change it each day when I walk into the office, then on my way out. It's part of my daily routine!

Pam - I can't view the Jim Carey thing, but will tonight. DH LOVES You Tube and Break. I haven't gotten into that. I don't need another addiction! We haven't done the hi-def thing yet. I'm usually the last on the block to get those kind of things! I work in IT, but am resistant to the modern technology at home!:confused3 I also keep a paper calendar, refuse to use the Outlook calendar on my Blackberry! Old fashioned. It takes me 10 minutes to text someone!

Cammie - Thanks for all of the Photopass comments. I just need to do my homework. You are close to homecoming day! I cannot even describe the emotion that I felt the first time that DD14 was away for a week then I saw her.

Becky - I don't see how people keep up w/muliple threads, either. I had just tried to keep up w/this one and the Photo of the Day thread and it took a lot of time. I just read the other threads, and throw in an occasional rare comment. My DD14 is a picky eater, too. I can just about count on two hands what she will eat for a meal. I worry about her first date, and hope by then that she has expanded her diet a little bit.

Speaking of Halloween costumes...What are everyone's kiddos going to be for Halloween?
Megan is going to be a lady pirate (again this year, but we have gotten some additional pieces for last year's costume -- I thought she was too old to trick or treat door to door, and didn't think she needed to buy a new costume if she wasn't going to a Haloween party). Taylor is going to be a lady gangster/mobster. She has a pin-striped suit and hat and carries a very fake looking Tommy gun which is neon orange and green. I wished that she would have picked the Dorothy (Wizzard of Oz) costume, but she chose this one instead.

:grouphug: Pam2

Pam2,

DH is in IT as well. He built the last 2 computers we have had and we are always last to get new tech stuff too. My old Magnavox tube TV gave out (it lasted pretty long) so we bought the LCD. We didn't even have a digital camera until last year and you won't see any Blackberrys around here. We had to break down and get a DVD player for the house, had one in the car when we had my youngest 4.5 yrs ago. DH says electronics lose money faster than cars because there is always something newer and better being built every day.

I'm picking up my baby today!

I'm telling ya, it's been a hard week not having any contact with her - but I survived!:thumbsup2 Since my divorce, I know I probably have an unhealthy attachment to my daughters but, who cares? I'll deal with that when they get married!:lmao:

Pam - Maybe I am not so old fashioned, just cheap! Patrick Dempsey, David Duchovny and Zac Efron would look marvelous in high def, I bet!:happytv:

Cammie - not unhealthy, but wonderful!! They are very loved!! Enjoy your reunion!

Maureen - HAVE FUN IN WDW!!! ::MickeyMo I am so jealous that you will be there TODAY! Be safe, and we want to hear all about it when you get back!

My sister and I cleaned out Walmart's shelf of the disposable rain ponchos yesterday, and we have more to get! I'll bring 28 of them for the 4 of us. If we use all of them, I guess we'll have to buy them in the parks. I know that's goofy, but I don't like to carry the wet ones around after we use them. I hope that we don't have to use them at all. Almost one more thing to cross off my list!!:cool1:

TGIF everyone!!! Have a most awesome Friday and weekend!

:hippie: Pam2

Hi Girls,
It’s crabby old me:sad2: ! Thought I would post since it is my mission to keep this thread going. I care too much about all you girls now!!!:grouphug: I need you all. You guys make me feel less crazy!

I have some major PMS going on along with the back, the allergies and this is going to sound ridiculous but I bit my lip really bad. It is more painful then my back and allergies rolled up together! I swear I must have taken a chunk off (Sorry TMI). OK get over it now, right! Well, one more vent….as soon as our mini vans car payments ended the truck has been breaking down left and right! It is costing us a fortune! We are at that do you just buy something new or put more money into it point. I was looking forward to no car payments for a while so I am mad! Ok…now onto other things….
Everything else is fine. DH is the same, doing well now but wondering what his options are.

TinkLvr (Maureen) You work too hard! You deserve a nice vacation. I would say relaxing too but we all know that’s not really the case with WDW! Good luck with everything! I hope the kids are doing well and you have a fabulous trip! My best friend is actually there right now too. She’s not a diser though….I can’t get her yet!

Pbharris (Pam ) I wish I had someone around who could explain computer stuff to me! I hate not knowing anything. I am always trying to figure stuff out by trial and error. Like right now I want to know if I can burn a CD from the Radio Disney stuff I am playing from the park. I want the Halloween music to play out my window on Halloween! I still haven’t figured out yet how to download to an ipod or a ring tone!

DisneyOhana (Lisa) Are you lurking? We have to set up another play date. My fall is crazy booked though. I mean it is insane how much I have going on. Let’s see what we can figure out.
Magicfor2 (Tammie) Thanks again for all the pix! That is so cool you got to go into that cool special area! I’m glad you had nice weather too.
tttessa (tessa) Have a wonderful special weekend away. Hope you experience some sunshine too!
Lovin Life ( Pam2) Photopass is a MUST!!! That way everyone is in the pix. I would definitely buy it ahead of time if you can get it cheaper. I didn’t know that. I will have to look into that myself!
TiDoubleGerr (Kristin) Are you lurking out there?
Camster0307Not too much longer before you get to see DD again!!!!! Yeah! You are allowed to be as attached to your DDs as you want!!!!!!!!
Sewer Hi!

Becky2005 I appreciate you stopping by here! I unfortunately had to give up some other threads to keep up with this one. It was getting harder and harder at the Chicago thread but I do lurk over there when I can. Everyone is VERY nice there!

Have a great weekend everyone. I am off to Wisconsin on Sunday. Did I mention that a couple of weekends ago we went there to apple and pumpkin pick? It was very fun but ended up being like 80 degrees!!!!

I am finishing up our last minute packing. We are leaving to pick up the kids in about an hour and then on to the airport!

DS seems to be doing better. No more fever, so that is a step in the right direction. Apparently, he got the croup at a party on Friday night. On of DHs cousin's brought her son, even though she knew he was sick. It was at a Gymboree-type place and at least two other kids in the family have gotten the croup, too. How annoying!

I will think about you all when I am in WDW and I'll have a margarita for you:) Talk to you when I get back!

Oh Debbie..sorry about the lip and the truck. Isn't that how it always goes though? As soon as you pay something off, either that or something else goes. I had a nice new Toyota Highlander w/ some extras on it, but a tree fell on DH's Nissan "beater/commuter" car with 205,000 miles on it. That thing would have run another 100,000 miles! So instead of having another car payment we traded in my Highlander (which was paid for) and got a minivan and a small car for him and no payments. They weren't Toyotas though. We also have another Nissan that's 12 years old with 200,500 miles on it. Dh uses that to go to the train station and back only. That just needed tires ($300+), but if that needs any more work than $ 500 we won't do it. Car payments are just outrageous these days. We're big fans of Nissan, Toyota and Honda. They cost more but last forever.

I hate paying for car repairs. They are always so expensive!

Car repairs and replacing appliances. I can't stand either of them. I have friends that get excited about new appliances, but I have trouble spending money on those two things (and modern technology, as we've already talked about!). I'm cheap in a lot of ways. My van was just paid off a few months ago, and I am hoping that it will last few years, at least. Megan will be driving before we know it. Uggh. I don't even want to think about that.

You all are probably tired of hearing about Photopass, but I pre-bought the CD! It has a money-back guarantee! I was just worried that it wouldn't be worth the money - that I wouldn't get enough pics taken by Disney that it would be worth the $99. We are having breakfast at CRT, 7 of us, so I'll get 2 photo packages, and they'll put those on the Photopass, too. Also, some of the rides that take your picture can be put on there. You all probably know all of this, but please entertain me, because I am JUST EXCITED!!:yay:

Debbie - I hope that you are feeling better! I don't know anything about PMS, got an IUD a few years back, and I get the occasional moodiness and minor symptoms, but not every month. I love it. After Taylor was born, I just couldn't bring myself to get my tubes tied. It just seemed so permanent. Now I know there isn't a chance that we'll have another child.

I'm ready to start the weekend. The weather is beautiful!!!

Thanks for the nice words girls.
Pam2
You will not regret buying that photopass CD! I am so glad you mentioned it because I will do the same now. Just don't be embarrassed to make your family stop every chance you can! You WILL NOT regret it!

I know..I know...it's always the way with cars and appliances and let's throw in heating and air too!!!!!

I think I am going to actively search out away to bring some funds in (ie tutoring, teaching at the YMCA, etc) OR I could go along with any of you on your WDW trips as a Nanny! I am a double certified teacher! All you have to do is put me up there with ya!:rotfl2:

Officially addicted now to Live365 Mouse Radio!:cool2:
I also just saw via the Ebay that there is a CD out at the parks called Walt Disney World Event Music! I MUST have it! I am just mad I won't have it in time for Halloween. It includes MNSSHP music!
See ya!

See ya!

I want to find that! I was thinking I would get a CD like that to keep the WDW spirit with us year round. Cool!

Taylor is spending the night at a friend's, and Darrin and Megan are watching Fantastic Four 2. I had to play my Webkinz games (I'm hooked) and hop on the dis for a few.

Debbie - your trip is SO close! I always thought it would be fun to work at the Disney Store, Hallmark or Bath and Body Works for extra income (I couldn't do it w/a full time job), but I would NEVER bring home a paycheck at any of those places! Maybe when I retire, for extra income and to occupy my time...

Megan and I have to be up and out early tomorrow AM for a youth auction meeting at church. I'm just hoping it doesn't last long.

'night all!
Pam2
