"I'm not but thank you...I have a sinus infection...I hate these things.

"I hope that this makes sense. "

I guess we'll see if this works how confusing it was! :rotfl2:

"Tomorrow is AUGUST! Can you all believe it? I think that April will be here before you know it.::MickeyMo "
I can cuz it's my Bday...not happy to be older, but I love Birthdays!!!! and I got the day off work...yeah me!!! :cheer2:

Hi everyone! Just a fly by tonight - already bedtime!

TidoubleGerr: Sorry about the sinus infection. I'm glad there were no chicken pox!

Pam, Sorry about the diabetes. Please don't be afraid. The biggest thing is really paying attention to the eating and treatment plan and do it for life for your kids! I know it sucks, but it's life and death! We struggle with my FIL's cheating quite often - we worry alot about him- he lost a sister to diabetes already.

Pam2 - Londynn is down to 13 today and eating and pooping much more - she was awake for a long time this evening - she smiled at me twice! She is their 2nd baby - they have Myles, 2. My other son, Ryan had his 1st, when they had Mason in May.

Mason is doing really well, by the way - getting chubby and funny! I will post a pic soon!

Goodnight all! Talk to you again soon!

Hiya all,

Pam -I really feel for you, my mum and mum-in-law both have type 2 diabetes, they have both approached it in opposite ways.

Mum - eat what she wants, relies on the pills to put her straight - puts on tons of weight, feels unwell and now has eye trouble too!!! (but try telling her....grrrrrr)

MIL - loses weight as it's given her a fright, avoids heavily sugared stuff, does all in moderation - is healthier than she has ever looked before diagnosis - does not need pills either.

I've started my diet regime myself as I just know I will end up with type 2 (me and mum are physically alike if NOT psychologically) if I am not careful.

Anyhows - we have water in our "fawcetts" and for flushing the Lavatory/Toilet/Loo/Lavvy/Bog (descending order of politeness!! I tend to use loo, gives you some idea of our social status...;), I am not kidding, in some parts of UK society, these things matter) . The water is not yet certified for drinking or even washing dishes, but ok for washing people and clothes - so long as you don't swallow any...:scared:
It's amazing, the joy of being able to just flush the loo!!! Simple pleasures eh?

I am SOOOOO jealous of you lot in the States - we have to wait for films/movies to come out over here - I checked when we would get Ratatouille - not till MID OCTOBER!!!!! and I soooo want to see the new Bourne film, not fair.... When we go over to Florida, we will go see EVERY film possible (AAAARRRGGGHHHHHH they will all have to be U rated!!! ) - the plane might have some new ones too I guess. We saw the Simpsons movie yesterday - that was SOOOOOOOOOO funny I nearly wet myself at the end. The kids loved it too - though could have done without having to explain what CR*P was, I guess that's why it carried a PG rating, not U.

Cheers all,
Tessa

Tessa..I know what you mean about flushing. Our power had gone out for 24-36 hours during Hurricane Isabel (was a tropical storm when it got to us). Our section of town got lucky and got power back first. Even still I missed being able to flush the toilet. (We have a well..so no electric no water.) These things are so common that we take them for granted..like the dishwasher, microwave....we don't really appreciate them until we can't use them. What would we do without computers these days? (Gasp!) Well, we'd be homeless because DH is a network engineer.

Ratatouille was good! I wasn't sure if my DD4 would like it but she did. We're going to see Underdog next week and maybe Daddy Day Camp. I didn't think there were too many great kid's (or adult) movies this summer.

I liked the movie theaters at Downtown Disnwy. The seats were big and comfy and that place is huge!

Happy Birthday...Tdouble grrr!!!:cheer2:

yeah! :bday:

I didn't tell you gals that I earned a trip to Atlantis in the Bahamas from my company!!! We go Oct 3 - 7. I guess I should start a ticker...start planning...try to find plane tickets..... OOH Boy! Planning and worrying can commence :rotfl2:

Tammie...how awesome!!! I've always wanted to go there!!! Have a blast!

OK..Tidouble grr...where are you from? I detect a southern "ya'll" so it must be from below the Mason Dixon!!!

OK..Tidouble grr...where are you from? I detect a southern "ya'll" so it must be from below the Mason Dixon!!!

You know, after I typed that I said to mysef, "self, someone's gonna think your from the south..."
I'm actually just north of Seattle...LOL! :rotfl:
I'm just a big silly that's all! :cool1:

Hiya all,

Tammie - I'm reading your trippie and sounds like you had a great time - just got to the rain bit - are you sure it was in "Norway" not the "UK"??;) I saw that "kitchen sink" too WOW!!!!!!

Pam - thanks for the tip on the downtown disney movies - we went to the multiplex on I-drive last time we were there (BC - Before Children) went to watch Blade (don't ask - hubby's choice !!!!) and there was us and one other couple in the BIG screen - REALLY spooky, especially with the choice of film!!

We only went there really cos it was close to FAO Schwartz(sp??) WOW do you get great choice of soft toys over there - we were amazed to see a cuddly ARMADILLO of all things... mind you, made a change from the squished ones on the roadside - hubby joked it was the only 3D Armadillo we would see - and he was right!

Well we are still the same as before -water to use for washing/Flushing but not drinking yet, we have to go collect that from the street corner - must go and take some souvenir water bowser photos before they go... something to show the kids when they're older...

Does anyone do scrapbooking? I have just started and it's already taking up heaps of time...... You've got the best supplies shops over there, so any recommendations if there are any in the Orlando area are most welcomed - will be saving tickets etc any other things you can recommend saving for a Disneyland trip page (or 10).

And :cheer2: I got a job :cheer2:. I've been out of the workforce since having the kids and have now managed to get a little job as a Mid-day supervisor at school starting in September - just a few hours a week, but it's a start, and it fits in with school term times too. It was my first interview in YEARS and even for a teeny job I still sweated ... Hubby is sweating that he'll have to help around the house cos he's not the only wage earner from Sept..... I'll believe it when I see it!!!!

Cheers,
Tessa

Hi, all! Its been a LONG time since I have been by, but wanted to drop in and see how things are going. We are $200 away from paying off the Disney trip, and getting ourselves psyched up for the school year. Last year in July an arsonist burned down the girls' school, and the board opted to send the students to classes at a school I wasn't crazy about, so we put the girls in a different school for the year/until we could find out the building plan for their old school. However they never developed really good friendships with the kids at the new school and both have really missed their old friends from the other school, so this year we are putting them back with their former classmates, even though the school building where they are attending is more urban than we are crazy about (they are doing a "school within a school", they start and end 10 minutes later and have their own teachers/classrooms etc, but share the lunch room and recess time with the other school's students). I am a little nervous about it, but I know how important it is to have the girls with the teachers/students that they know and have missed this past year. Also, they are rebuilding their old school and improving it, scheduled open is June 2008, but the builder is being offered incentives to complete early enough to get the kids back there for second semester, so I think it will be easier if they manage it to move the girls if they are already with their fellow classmates. Also in the past month, my fil was hospitalized with pneumonia, and my mil had a heart attack, all in one week! Its been pretty crazy around here, but we are holding together thus far...

Hey I did it the first try! thanks Lovinlife! :woohoo:

Good job!!:thumbsup2

Happy belated birthday to you TidoubleGerr!!!:bday:

I didn't tell you gals that I earned a trip to Atlantis in the Bahamas from my company!!! We go Oct 3 - 7. I guess I should start a ticker...start planning...try to find plane tickets..... OOH Boy! Planning and worrying can commence :rotfl2:

Cool, Tammie! It's always fun to have a trip planned, and the Bahamas - whoo, hoo! I need to get back to your trip report and catch up!

hubby joked it was the only 3D Armadillo we would see - and he was right!

:lmao: Tessa, we see lots of armadillos here, but mostly of the squished kind, too.

Does anyone do scrapbooking?!

I haven't been able to get into the scrapbooking. It looks like so much fun, but we do not have the room to spread out my stuff and leave it there. I have to get it all out, then pick it up when I am done or we need to eat! Some of my friends do, and when they get together to do it, I join them, but make greeting cards instead, or crochet. I like smaller projects that I can see an end result pretty quickly. I love to use rubber stamps and emboss with plates and powder and heat. I want to start doing more w/my digital photos. I got a little fold up scrapbook that I am going to make for my mom, and clear tote bags w/pockets that I am going to make for my MIL and mom for Christmas, putting in photos and cards w/text on them in the pockets. A scrapbook would take me a year to finish!! I am envious of those who have the discipline to do it.

And :cheer2: I got a job :cheer2:. I've been out of the workforce since having the kids and have now managed to get a little job

Good for you! That's great that the hours and schedule work with your girls' school schedules.

Hubby is sweating that he'll have to help around the house cos he's not the only wage earner from Sept..... I'll believe it when I see it!!!!

:rotfl2: That's all I have to say.

Hi to Lisa, Debbie, Sewer, Maureen, Pam, Yvette, Keahi and DisneyJenn18!!:grouphug:

2girlsmom - That is awful about the arson at the school. I just can't understand people sometimes. It's so sad for the kids. School is so important, and to have their lives disrupted like that because of someone's meanness - it's just not fair. Hang in there. Things have to get better.:flower3:

Pam2

Hi Tessa! Thanks for reading my TR! Maybe it WAS UK :rotfl2: It was Lisa who ate the Kitchen Sink! Just had to point that out :rotfl:

Congrats on your job! You can save up more Disney Dollars! :woohoo:

I love to scrapbook - although I don't have much time. Seems like every 6 mo. my DILs and I plan a girls scrap day, and just scrap all day. Of course, we only had one DGS then with 3 men to watch him. I don't know how they'll do with 3 babies!

There is tons of Disney scrapping stuff in the gift shops! Save the note paper, coasters, etc. from your hotel room, too! It makes great embelishments! This trip I cheated and created the online book at photopass! I really like how it turned out, although I will probably scrap, too! I will take a couple of pics and post them later!

Hi Kristi! Welcome Back! I'm sorry your kid's school craziness. Hope it gets fixed soon.

Hi everyone! Debbie, are you alright? I haven't seen you post for a few.

I am heading to the lake tomorrow, and then heading up to Tacoma, WA (Hi Tidoublegerr, my DSIS lives in Arlington) for a couple of days, back on Wed. I will be MIA - MISS ME! Have a great weekend!

Hiya all,

girls2mom - sounds like you have had a really bad month, but I think you're right to put the kids in the school with their friends - some of the early friendships they make seem to need that constant "presence" and togetherness that being in school together provides.

I haven't been able to get into the scrapbooking. It looks like so much fun, but we do not have the room to spread out my stuff and leave it there. I have to get it all out, then pick it up when I am done or we need to eat!

I know about that!!! we don't have the room either, I have completed the sum total of ONE whole page in the last 3 months!!! Putting it all away takes so long that I can't be bothered to get it all out again.... I tend to make loads of greetings cards (working on Christmas right now - feels odd, but if I don't start now, I can't give it the time ...)

Still awaiting a clean fresh water supply......

Our news is full of the US right now - those poor folks on the bridge in Minnesota - our worlds seem to be lurching from one crisis to another sometimes....:confused3 Hope no-one here is affected..... made my tummy churn to see the pictures of the kids lucky escape on the school bus.

Cheers,
Tessa

Hi, Debbie! Sorry your keyboard is being crazy! The concert sounds fun!

Hi all! Happy weekend! I have to take my car into the shop this AM, after I run by Starbucks and grab a coffee - DH didn't set up the coffee pot like he does M-F. Sat & Sun are hit and miss on that. That's one of his jobs. Both of my bottom brake lights are out, only the top one is working. Hopefully, they can fix it today. Everyone else is asleep. I'm thinking they open at 7 (I had to pop on here before I looked!). Hopefully, they have wireless, so I'll bring my laptop and a book and hang out until DH calls me to tell me he's awake. He said to call him, but I hate to wake them up on the weekends if I don't have to. They have to wake up so early during the week. TMI, and I am rambling....The rest of the weekend is laundry and picking up! We also need to go back-to-school shopping. We start 3 weeks from Monday. YIKES! :scared: I am also going to by the last 2 of our park tickets today. Did you hear that WDW tickets go up in price tomorrow?

Tomorrow is church, SS, my parents are coming over here for dinner, then a church swim party at the public pool. No rain in the forecast this weekend! I had a girl's night last night. :dance3: We were home before 8:30pm! What a buch of party animals we are! It was a drink at happy hour, then dinner. It was lots of fun, and much needed. I was supposed to be the designated driver this time, but felt I REALLY needed a margarita, and had DH drop us off and he was going to pick us up, but one of the girls didn't have a drink, so she brought us home. It was a tough couple of days at work towards the end of the week.

That is awful about the bridge collapse. I just heard something on the news last night about the bridges in Texas being looked at, and ? % of them being safe. I tried not to listen. What good would it do? :confused3 There is a long one over a lake that we go over pretty often during the school year because DD9's Girl Scout leader lives on the other side of it. I will be OK, but I just hope that DD doesn't get scared. All of this news coverage really affects the kids. Post 9-11 was awful, wasn't it, trying to explain to them and calm their fears. I wish that we could protect them from all of the garbage in the world. On the other hand, think of all of the wonderful things that go on and there are to tell them about.:flower3:

Debbie - Eye think it's time for you to get your laptop! :rotfl2: Or, is that your new laptop? I hope not!

Tessa - I wish that we could send you some water! Ban water, drink margaritas!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!:grouphug:

Hello Everyone,
Just got back in town from Wisconsin but am going back tomorrow. We went to the H-5 concert last night and had a blast!

Me again. Debbie - I had to Google it and see what concert you went to see. I've never heard of Hi-5. I guess because my girls are too old for that. They look really cute. How fun! Have fun in Wisconsin!

Pam2:hippie:

Oh boy do I wish we never heard of Hi- 5 , if I have to listen to
"One, Two, Three, Four... HI FIVE:cheer2:" one more time I will scream!!!!! - still it is innocent fun I suppose.

My 2 DDs (now 5 and 6) are moving into wanting to dance to disco music - Macarena and Y.M.C.A are the current favourites!!! I guess I'll have to give in and buy a dancemat - anyone got one? are they any good? - or do the kids play with it for a week then it goes in the cupboard like everything else??

Still no drinking water ... but we can drink boiled mains water now..... Sun sun sun at the minute - 28 deg - way too hot considering the past few weeks (we brits can complain about ANY kind of weather, it's the national sport...;))

Got to go entertain the little darlings....
Cheers,

Tessa
