Magicfor2 (Tammie)Are you having the Disney Doggie Downers yet? It stinks when your ticker says "since" don't ya think. I hope all is better on the family front. How is DIL?
Yeah, I AM having the "downers". The first few days things were so crazy and I think I had Culture shock - you know - not at Disney anymore :rotfl: Now I am back to reality - my son moved away, but they stayed with us on Tues night, and we will see them this Sat when we take our trailer out to the lake.

Pam2 - Welcome! Sorry for the belated greeting - you will find we are a fun, caring group who love to plan and obsess! Jump in!:yay:

Pam1 - I know what you mean about not wanting to leave because you have to come back - I felt the same way - we had planned for 3 years, and then it was gone in a flash!

Sewer - nice to hear from you
Maureen, Tessa, Lisa, Jaclyn, Joanne, Keahi, Kristy - Hi! :grouphug: Sorry I have been out of it for awhile! I hope I'm back! I won't be around much on the weekends - no internet in the woods!

I am posting my TR starting tonight, now that I have pics loaded - come on over! Pam, have a great trip!:dance3: Are you sure you can't take us in your suitcase?

I had to jump on for a minute while the kiddos are getting ready for day care! So, you all wear Crocs to the parks? I LOVE my Crocs, but I have to wear closed in tennies w/socks, or at least I think that I do! Are the Crocs OK to wear all day walking? They are the most comfy pair of shoes I own, but I would be afraid they rub, or you'd get tired of them flapping? More later! I also had to wish everyone a HAPPY FRIDAY!! :yay:

Speaking of Crocs -- I bit the bullet and bought some the other week. I, too, am new to the world of Crocs - but listening to everyone on this thread rave about them, I figured what the hey !

I took Debbie's advice and bought myself a pair of chocolate mary janes (they really don't make your feet look THAT big...:rolleyes1 ). I love them !!!! Why, oh why, did I wait so long !? Comfy, comfy, comfy...

I also bought DS a pair of navy Caymans -- I tried his on (we have the same shoe size) -- yes they're comfy too, but I felt like a duck flopping about. My feet looked huge !!!

DH refuses to come over the the Croc side - he said he'll stick to his slippers (or flip-flops as is the common term on the mainland :goodvibes ) Maybe I can convince him to try the Athens...

Anyways, that's my adventure in Crocs -- I think I need to obsess on something else instead of shoes...

Yeah maybe Pam 2 needs to know she can't really stay at this thread unless she has a big foot!:rotfl2: J/K

Seriously, we are all crocaholics here now. The way I brought DH on board was by having him just get CROC flip flops!:yay:

Pam2 They are really great at the parks. My Mom wore hers and she's finicky with her feet. They are really good if you do rides with water too because you don't have wet socks in sneaks. Seriously....you could try it on a day you think will be shorter then another day. I love mine!!!! I am NEVER out of them!

Speaking of Crocs....I bought a pair of Caymans about 2 months ago. I bought them too big, but didn't realize they were big. I mean they are HUGE. I am a size 10..so I thought I needed to buy an 11 to have room on the sides. My friends said to buy a size down. So I ordered Caymans in a size 9 in Celery, got DD11 a lt. blue pair, and DD4 (on Sunday) a pair of Cotton Candy pink ones. :thumbsup2 Love them..now that I got it right, I want more! My 4yo loves hers.....she will only take them off to sleep and that's only because we make her. I'll have to get her another pair too.

Pam2: I also have an 11 yo DD and for the last year she has been all about Abercrombie, Hollister, AE, Aeropostale, Ltd Too, Justice, etc. I know where you are coming from. But at the same time she wants to wear t shirts alot..so I'd rather get her Abercrombie and Hollister T shirts and be a little more preppy. I think somedays she wants to dress like a tomboy.

Thank you for the comments on the quilt!

Pam

OMG you are leaving tomorrow!!! Can you stand it!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe it. Do you have my cell phone number programed in your phone in case you need my help there? I will fly right out if you need me!:rotfl2:

OK - I am officialy hooked on this friendly place!

I only own one pair, navy, and I am a size 8 1/2 R - kind of big. I bought my DH a pair of Khaki classics (not sure what they're called), and he thought they were kind of feminine, but he is hooked! He wears them all of the time, even though my DB gives him heck for it when he sees him. I told him that real men DO wear Crocs!:groom:

Does Pam leave TOMORROW?? Don't you wish that you could bottle the day before feeling:yay: , and save it for one of those ho-hum days, or especially the really terrible ones:mad: ? It is just one of the best feelings in the world!!

Pam - HAVE A WONDERFUL TRIP!!!! :) Will you go thru withdrawls from this place? Probably not, but you might miss everyone. Even tho I'm new, we'll miss you! Be careful, and have a blast!!!

Pam2

Pam - I forgot to tell you that I also have a Megan, well, they spell their names differently, but same name. How funny!

Debbie - Our trip in November is close to yours. We'll be there Nov 16-23. I am thinking of going to the Christmas party the first night we're there. We've never been! Our tradition is going to DT Disney on our first day there, and starting the parks on our first whole day. We may have to change that this year. I need to learn more about it! I am sure that I will here in time!

I HAVE to sign off! TTFN!

We usually go in October but wanted to try MVMCP and my DD will turn 5 when we are there on the 10th. I think our trips will overlap. Still deciding on a party date. Did you know that tickets are already on sale? Also, I am hoping for a code. We just booked using AAA and would like more of a discount. Hoping for a Visa something or other. Hey, you need a ticker! Did you book? Sorry if you already mentioned this but where (resoert) and how (DVC) are you staying there?

Hey - I didn't realize that I crossed over from "Earning My Ears" to "Mouseketeer"

Only 420 or so more posts until "DIS Veteran"...:surfweb:

I'm tagless....:sad1:

You go...you Mousketeer you!!! ;)

Pam2: is your Megan a strawberry blonde by any chance?

I will be excited once the wheels hit the runway and come to a complete STOP!!! Everyone knock on wood and say a prayer to the BIG MAN in the heavens for us. I hate flying. Maybe I will "throw a few back, bend the 'ol elbow, sip the sauce," or whatever you call it from what ever part of the country you're from. Anything to take the edge off. :rotfl2:

Last year when we got up to depart the plane, my legs and rear end hurt because the entire 2 hrs my legs, arms, hands and neck were so stiff because I was so tense. My DH made a joke at work that he'd have to sedate us because not only was I a nervous wreck, but so was DD11 who kept asking me questions about the plane, the pilot, and what if questions and she was driving me crazy. Maybe Dh should sit next to her this year! :lmao:

My sister just back from Disney and they were down there when the abduction took place. She said it was near the World of Disney Store around the ATM where they have those walkways in between the buildings. I thought it was like in the huge Westside parking lot. I always got to DTD by myself at night. Oh...I ride the bus if I go at night. Nevermind. But still...they should gate DTD parking lots with security guards. It's pretty much the only place that doesn't have them, right? It would probably deter people from parking there to go to the parks.

Toodles everyone!

Have an awesome trip!!!!!!:grouphug:

Just do the whole statistics thing when you are on the plane and you will be fine. Plus you are all together on the plane right...... I always think it's worse when someone else is flying and I'm not with them!

Lots of prayers and pixie dust. I'll miss ya tons!

Thanks! I saw you were logged on. I know the statistics. But then then there's the whole..I am flying out of the D.C. area thing too plus we are coming home 4th of July. Oh no...I just realized we'll be hitting alot of traffic from the Washington, D.C. Mall fireworks if we go I-95. guess we'll have to go the back way home.

You gals are sweethearts!!!

Relax...deep breathes...think of happy thought, any happy little thought.....
OMG I can't wait to see your pixs and hear about all your fun!

Good night! Have an AWESOME stress free, worry free, nothing go wrong time!

Probably missed you - our time difference always confuses me!! - have a great time - don't worry about a couple of hours in the air - we've got 9 (NINE:scared:) - over the ocean:scared:, I just keep repeating "I will not worry about that which I cannot control!!!"
We will have a few firsts on ours - first time the kids go to WDW (been to Disneyland Paris a couple of times and LOVVVVVED it), first time kids fly (and we chose a 9 hour flight - nothing like immersion therapy!!).

Can you get a special "First Time" badge or anything?

Cheers,
Tessa

Way to go, Keahi, on your Mouseketeer status!:thumbsup2 I think I have a measly 15 posts, or something like that. I've viewed DISboards many times in the past, especially before our trips, and in between some to keep that Disney spirit alive, but have been shy about posting! Well, look at me now! I just can't get enough! I shy away from giving advice or opinions on a lot of things, but love to read everyone else's, and just let it all mix and decide for myself what I want to believe/do. I love this place! CONGRATS! Post away!

Pam is in WDW, or at least on her way. How wonderful for her! :cheer2: I would love to get away for 10 days somewhere, especially WDW! Our trips there have been 4 days, now 7. I can't wait to hear about her trip and see pics (something that I need to learn how to do)!

I have a ticker! I just did it this AM. I've tried before, unsuccessfully, but this time it worked! I need to spice up my signature some, but not too much, as I don't want the signature police coming after me! DEBBIE!!!:lmao:

Tessa, How exciting to travel overseas for a vacation!! The longest flight I've ever been on has been 3 hours, except for the trips to/from Hawaii when we lived there when I was a little girl, but I do not remember. Those of you who do the long flights, ESPECIALLY W/KIDS!, deserve a badge IMO (Debbie, thanks for the abbreviations list tip, I'm trying!). I get so ancy myself, and try to think of things to entertain my kids on our long (only 3 hour!) flights. Not so much any more, now that they're older, but when they were young. Hopefully, you can plan it when you all can sleep on the plane? That is what I would do if I could, as I have no trouble sleeping on the plane whatsever (or anyplace else, for that matter). My DH freaks out at take off and landing, and GRABS my arm. It scares me half to death if I am asleep, but I don't think of bad things when we fly, only good things - WE'RE GOING TO DISNEYWORLD!!! (or wherever). I bet they do have first timer pins. I think I remember reading that on the board one time. Just ask at your resort or at the ticket counter when you enter the park. OK, here I am ALMOST giving my opinion on something! That is what I would do! You are 6 hours ahead of us in Texas. I have team members at work that work in London.

It's about 7am here, so about 1pm Tessa's time. I've been up about an hour, enjoying my quiet time until the troops get up. The puppies don't know the difference between weekdays and weekends, and they start getting ancy about 5:30am, the normal weekday get up time. My youngest daughter and I are going to go to her friend's dance recital, then to lunch w/the friend and her mom. I enjoy this time on the weekends in the AM. I am an early riser, and the rest of them sleep later, so I have me time. It's so peaceful. I don't turn on the tv, stereo or talk on the phone. I just bask in the silence.:coffee:

We're taking a road trip to Branson, MO at the end of July. It's a 7 hour drive. We've never been, and I am looking forward to it. I love road trips, but my impatient DH doesn't. I like to stop at interesting places along the way, stop for eats and drinks, and he just wants to get there as quick as possible. Of course I make him stop. I remember cross country trips as a kid, telling my dad I had to stop, and having to hold it for what I thought was eternity. As for Branson, I think we'll have fun. Since we're going to WDW in the fall, I didn't want to spend too much money, or take too much time off work this summer (I have 21 days, and take them mostly when the kids have holidays during the school year. In January, I'll have 26), so we decided to do this. Besides, when I was in Bass Pro (DH's fave place) shopping for Father's Day, I was approached by a salesman about buying 2 nights in a hotel in one of several locations, for $49, just to check out this resort and listen to their 90-min. pitch. He threw in $50 worth of Bass Pro gift certs, so it's free. We bought an additional dicounted night in the Radisson, so we leave on a Thurs AM, and come back on a Sun PM. We'll just see a couple of shows, shop, eat, swim in the hotel pool, and relax. Has anyone here been to Branson? My IL's and DH's grandparents go a lot and like it.

Sorry my posts are so long all. Thanks for listening. You all are great! A big hug to all of you! :grouphug: Have a wonderful Saturday and weekend!!!

Debbie - How fun to celebrate a birthday there! On our trip 4 years ago, we celebrated DH's birthday there (11/25) and he got the birthday pin and we ate at the Italian restaurant in Epcot and they sang. We got a cake for him in POP to have in the room. I'd like to try the party, but am afraid that we will be SO tired our first day. Our flight is at 8am, and even tho we are so close (10 mins.) to the airport, I will probably get up at around 5am. I am one who thinks that you need to be at the airport at least an hour, if not hour and a half before your flight, despite much protest from DH, who is NOT a morning person. We also park in remote parking, and take the shuttle to the airport. With Florida being 2 hrs. ahead, we are so tired on our first night there. Our tradition has been on our first day there to go poke around our hotel, go to DT Disney for dinner, then to visit DT D on our last day before we fly home. We like to see it during the day and at night. This trip, we'll go to AK on our last day, so hopefully, we'll see DT Disney during our first day and that night, too. Our last trip was horrible on the first day. We took the kids out of school and vacation days at work to catch an early AM flight. Our flight was extremely delayed for several reasons, and to make a long story short (I am not very good at that, am I?) we didn't end up getting to our hotel until well after midnight, and our luggage didn't get delivered until about 2am. It was a LONG day. We only saw DT Disney on our last day, so this trip we are looking forward to it. We may have to save the party for our NEXT trip. Something to look forward to! I know nothing about DVC! We are staying at POP, and are booked. Deposit is made, and we pay balance by October. Air ressies are made. We got $200 RT on AirTran. I thought it was excellent for non-stop. It was high when I started looking, and I am not sure AA has gone down. Besides, it was AA that we had all of the trouble with on the last trip. I ended up writing a letter to them because we also had trouble on a trip to Las Vegas, and ended up getting 2/$100 vouchers from them, which we ended up having to pay $20 to use. Don't even get me started there...I hope that we have better luck this trip w/AirTran. I know they can all have horror stories, and they do a fantastic job 99% of the time. I have bought 2 of four of our 6-day park tickets, not hoppers. We do a park a day. We have made ressies at Cindy's for breakfast, CP for breakfast, and Hollywood and Vine for dinner for the Fantasmic show. The other meals, we just wing it, or do counter service. I thought seriously about doing the dining plan this trip, but it was very stressful for me to plan out all of sit down meals, and since we are including others in our trip this time, I had to also consider them. We decided against it, even tho it seems like a super deal. Our first trip with the girls was in October 2001 and we loved going that time of year. It was especially quiet after 9/11. We don't want to take them out of school for that many days now. It's not as easy in middle school. They have a week off for Thanksgiving, so we'll only be pulling them out for 1 day.

Kiddos have started getting up. Happy Day!
Pam2
