This is a cool weather site. I went there to try and figure out how to make a UK weather ticker for Tessa but still can't figure it out (yet)...I better get off this computer!:rolleyes1

Lovinlife..Pam2
Is this flooding/rain effecting you?? I keep seeing Texas on the news.
Are you OK?

Hi all! Debbie - Thanks! We're fine. it is raining a lot in Texas this spring. We are in north Texas, near Dallas. We haven't had any flooding in our direct area, but I just saw something on the news about Granbury, which isn't terribly far from us having severe flooding problems. We've been very lucky. I drove thru some high water on the way to work yesterday that made me a little nervous, but it just slowed traffic down a bit and was OK. I am worried about DD1, who is in farther north Texas camping this week, near a lake. All of them are so high right now.

You DO rock, Debbie! :thumbsup2 Cool weather tickers! You now need to make one for each of us! Just kidding!:lmao:

Thanks for the picture posts! I am going to look at all of them tonight.:surfweb:

Pixie dust pixiedust: and prayers  for your DH. I hope that his new meds are just what he needs. Have fun in Wisconsin! I have to work all week, and our kids will be gone again at my IL's. We will pick them up from my IL's, and go to my parents for the 4th/my DB's bday, then go back to my IL's for dinner and fireworks that night, and come back home by ourselves. It's just sorry that we only have the one day off and it's mid week to boot.

Tessa - thanks for sharing your pics! You are a nice looking family! I didn't realize that you had 2 DD's. I know one is getting ready to turn 5, how old is the other one? Good job posting the pics! Looking at Debbie's picture posts might inspire me. I need to hurry up and take my digital photog classes.

We are having a quiet night tonight, just staying home. DD's doing the usual ironing and online poker, and I am on my laptop, stretched across the couch, in my robe since I got home, watching TV:happytv: , and we are enjoying the calmness of the evening. I need to learn how to put songs on my MP3 - just finally got one last night, have been wanting one for a while.

Have a great evening everyone - TOMORROW IS FRIDAY!!!!!:cool1:

Night, night!
Pam2

Here's Pam2's weather ticker. PM me if you want directions on how to do it.....

Thanks, Debbie! You beat me to it! I was ready to paste! Like I said, I'm internet challenged sometimes!

Hi Everyone~ tomorrow is my LAST day of work, and my Birthday!!!! I had everything under control, and then more stuff came up at the last minute - my brother is here - he says to walk away because something will come up all day every day. I guess he's right.

My mom had a little party for me, and my DS that moved away brought is family over just for the evening  They gave me some very sweet pics of my new DGS, 7 wks.

Tessa! Your girls are adorable! Thanks for sharing!

Pam2, You can read my TR by clicking on the link in my Siggie! Thanks for asking! I will post a new pic of my DGS, Mason, here, since you asked:)

I just have to download some more pics - I'm in bed, now - have to do it later.

We are headed out to the lake for the weekend - have a wonderful weekend, everyone! I will catch up next week!:wave2:

Thanks all - I think my girls look good too...:goodvibes

Yep, I have 2 dds one of which puts us through the emotional wringer (as you all know) she is the littlest - 5 in 2 weeks!! The other (for some reason always on the right of our photos!!) has been through that phase and is just in the "I want to" "why can't I" "you never let me" phase.... she is 6 and a half in year 1 of infant school.

For those that don't know, or are interested... the way our schools work over here~:
1st year(you are 5 in that school year) is reception - part time for younger ones Sept to Nov then full time 9am to 3pm Nov till July
2nd year is Year1 Infants
3rd is year 2 Infants
then Year 3 -6 Junior (for our kids all the above is the same school location thankfully, but doesn't have to be)

then year 7 onwards - Senior school - school hours get longer

Someone will have to let me know how things work over there...

the weather ticker thing looks interesting, I must have a play about - I need to scout out a countdown too - might help me with timing for ADRs etc...
The links are great too - love looking at things like this, really makes me feel not sooooo far away!

Mind you, with the flooding we're having , it doesn't sound too different to some parts over there!!!!! And it's raining again!!! Forecast here is severe rain/flooding for the whole weekend - we are so lucky where we live, some areas close by have been 4 foot underwater!

Anyhow, got to go clean the house I suppose.....
Bye all
Tessa

Just poppin in to say-
Happy Birthday, Tammie! :bday: and Happy last day of work!

Hi friends! More later!:)

Pam2

It’s raining again tonight. DH and I went out to dinner and are getting ready to watch a movie on our last night w/out the kids tonight. :happytv: Although it was a quiet, calm week, I miss them, and can’t wait to see them tomorrow!:yay:

I am loving looking at the picture threads – Thanks, Debbie!, and reading Tammie’s trip report and seeing her pictures. Is the picture of that grandbaby out there yet? Tammie, your DH, “Grumpy” cracks me up! I can’t wait to see/read the rest of it.

Tessa – our schools (at least in Texas) are (approximate ages) –
Elementary School - Kindergarten (5yrs.), grades 1-5 (6-10 yrs.), all in one school, 8am-3pm
Middle School (sometimes called Jr. High School) – grades 6-8 (11-13 yrs.), all in one school, 8:45am-3:45pm
High School – grades 9 (called Freshman, 14 yrs.), 10 (called Sophomore, 15 yrs.), 11 (called Junior, 16 yrs.), 12 (called Senior, 17 yrs.), all in one school, 8:45am-4:05pm
College – (18 -21 yrs. for undergraduate degree, can obtain further college degrees, which takes longer)

This year, our school year starts August 27 and is out for the summer June 5.

Have a wonderful weekend all! Hi Maureen, Lisa, Keahi, and everyone else!
:grouphug:

Quick Hi & Bye.....
Crazy, summer days! Had problems with some credit card stuff.. What a headache:headache: . One was my fault and one wasn't but WOW am I irritated. Well, off to Wisconsin. I will come home Sunday night and then go back on Tuesday for the rest of the week.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Debbie

Happy Birthday Tammmie!!!! I hope your last day at work went well too!!!

PrinceesBirthday.gif

Happy Birthday Tammie!!:banana::banana::banana:

Pam 2 -Thanks for the school thing, now I finally know what you lot are on about, when you talk about, in particular, sophomore!! We get loads of cheap and trashy shows (and some really good ones - I have to stand up and say "My name is Tessa and I am a Friends addict" ) on our satellite TV service, so now we know!!

It is still raining here too - flood warnings for today and tomorrow.... thankfully we won't be affected ( unless the ground water level rises about 70 feet!!). But I am finding the constant damp to be a complete pain! Can't kick the kids out into the garden to play, can't even hang out washing now (seems like forever) and I love fresh from the line linen on the bed - I want some sunshine!!!!!

That's my whinge over..... Hope you all have a nice weekend.
Tessa

Here I am - :surfweb: , enjoying 2 of my favorite indulgences.

We too were big fans of Friends, and still enjoy watching it when it is replayed. Cheers, Seinfeld, my mind is going blank (that happens more than I care to admit), are some others that we loved. IMO, they just don't make the 30-min sitcom like they used to. I haven't found any in a long time that I like as well. I didn't watch Raymond, but am enjoying it in syndication.:happytv:

I am having my coffee out of one of my WDW mugs. That is a souvineer for me on every trip, and one I enjoy the most. I also get them from other places we go to. It just makes me feel like I am almost there when I am drinking from them.:coffee: Do you all do the same, or have something similar that you get to kind of keep you in your favorite places?

Speaking of things I don't care to admit - is it getting harder for any of you to read/do things close up? I had to get tri focals :cool2: about a year ago, and wear reading glasses w/my contacts. I need to start wearing them more. When we were at dinner last night, I didn't have them, and my arms almost didn't reach out far enough to hold the menu! YIKES!

Have a nice day all!:flower3:
Pam2

Hiya all,
you are a caring lot:hug: - thanks for the messages and concerns about our "heightened security status" over here - but I'll post publicly what I wrote in private...

There have been 2 "viable explosive devices" in London (obviously put together by incompetents as they didn't go off) and one car bomb at Glasgow airport so far -it's just another attempt to scare folk....but they have miscalculated, we lived through the IRA doing this sort of stuff and much, much worse - a few little car bombs are not going to affect us in the slightest!! The Blitz spirit is still very much alive over here.

The Glasgow airport one has gained the contempt of the world - fire bombing a busy airport on the first day of the school holidays in Scotland - obviously aiming their hatred and scare tactics at young children - it is beyond contempt!!!

Sorry, just had to vent....
Anyhow, so far only the perpetrators have been hurt by this, long may that continue....

Tessa

Tessa - I agree that going after the children is the worst those bombers could do. I am glad your spirits aren't down because of it.

Debbie - Thanks for the links, once again. Is it the school teacher in you? You always set us up w/great reading and pictures. You're the best. Hope you guys are having fun. We have to get together sometime after this week.

Tammie - Happy belated B-day! I can't wait to read your TR.

Hi Maureen, Pam, Pam2, Sewer. Hope you're all having a great weekend.

Hi all! I hope that everyone had a great weekend! They go too fast, don'e they? At least this week we have the holiday mid-week! I have my girls home, but they'll leave tomorrow for the week. We played all weekend after we got them back, so I'm behind on laundry. I'll get caught up this week while it's quiet.:laundy:

DD9 is watching Grease. I love that movie. I guess that was like our High School Musical, huh? Good times. We've caught St. Elmo's Fire lately, too. Another fave classic of mine. Memories...

DD13 and I saw Evan Almighty today. popcorn:: Cute movie. Of course I dozed for a bit of it. I do that in 90% of the movies I see. As long as I keep busy, I can stay awake, but if I sit down, especially in the dark, I can't keep my eyes open.

We're making the most of the last of the weekend. Have a good night everyone!

:grouphug: Pam2
