Yep, that is definitely when it happened to me, too, actually when I got pregnant with my oldest...

Yep......it's like all of a sudden you are REALLY, REALLY responsible for another human being (of course then you have another one or two children), etc. You don't want to make mistakes. And I think us women push ourselves to do more and BE more. There's a reason live longer than men.....because we can handle everything!!

Amen to that, sister !!! :thumbsup2

Thank you so much Pam and keahi for all the wonderful advice. I have made Wolfgang puck ressies the night we arrive. I then have a lunch ressie for 1 pm at Le Cellier it was the best I could do. The next day we are scheduled at 7:30 Whispering Canyon, not sure what park to do with this ressie. The Wednesday we are at Magic Kingdom and have ressies at Crystal Palace for 7:30 pm, again the best I could get. Most things are booked up tight. On Thursday we have ressies at the Coral Reef at 7:20 pm.,not sure what park to do with this ressie. Last but not lease we have a 7:30 at the concourse steak house and I am not sure what park to do with this ressie. So you can see my dilema and all my dh has to say is we will like what ever you plan and love you for it. Now how do you get mad at that, but still I feel the need to plannnnnnn! Help me somemore in deciding how and where which park we should do. And how do you plan for nap or pooltime with these ressie. Husband is diabetic and needs some down time during the day and I have bad legs. Funny but we do better than the kids most of the time. We do pay for it though. lol:rotfl:

Hi Everyone...Happy weekend...Have been listing stuff on Ebay the past couple nights. I need WDW money! What a pain! I hope it pays off. I hate trying to figure out what to charge...

LISA is gone!!! Isn't she so lucky! I hope everything goes well. I can't wait to see pix.

BTW I went and got my LGMH at Home Depot today! Look for me Tammie!

Debbie, I missed this one - I'm going to get LGMHs also - are you putting your DIS name on yours? I was thinking about laminating mine and clipping them to my little purse I wear! 11 days:woohoo:

My vote for what we would all do if we traveled together - we would plan well in advance, send out printed engraved itineraries, and schedule in time for MARGARITAS by the pool!!!!

Hi! Welcome! I am planning to be mostly at the parks where our ADRs are each day. With some of yours being at resorts, you can take the monorail or boat over and go to different park that night. You probably need to get a passporter, and plan out at least your park days and figure out your family's "can't miss" attractions. Read some of the trip reports (TRs) here on the DIS - you will get all kinds of good ideas! :thumbsup2 Our best tip is to get to the park at opening and get fast passes for every ride you can - that way you don't spend all day waiting in line. Also sounds like you need to make time in the heat of the day to go back to the resort and cool off or swim - that is the time it starts getting crowded and "crabby" at the parks.
When you get back to the park, you will be refreshed and ready to go again while everyone else is off to get dinner!

Happy Planning!

Try not too hard to stress about it. Tammie (Magicfor2) gave some great advice. You can order a Passporter from WalMart or Borders, Amazon, etc. It's a really helpful book with lots and lots of tips. I used the Disney Cruise Line Passporter and that really helped us.

Let me see if I can help you with the ADRs.

Some of it may depend on where you are staying and also what parks you want to visit.

It sounds like you arrive on a Sunday-You'll be at WPC-DTD
Monday: Le Cellier-EPCOT 1pm
Tuesday: Whispering Canyon- WIlderness Lodge (close to MK)
Wednesday:Crystal Palace-MK
Thursday:Coral Reef-EPCOT
Friday: Concourse Steakhouse-Contemporary Resort (close to MK)

Sunday: Obviously DTD because of WPC.
I would do EPCOT on Monday since you have a lunch ADR.
I would do MK on Wednesday.
Thursday: I'd do MGM..and then hop over to EPCOT (if you have park hopper passes) and eat dinner at Coral Reef.

Tuesday and Friday are hard. They are both close to MK. You don't have to go to a park. You can just go and park there and eat. If you DO want to go to a park..either do a second day at MK or go to Animal Kingdom in the morning, take a break and then go to Concourse for dinner.

OR you can try to get something else for those 2 days.

About breaks, we don't break during the park days. We break in between park days. When we do the park, we do as much as we can until we are soo pooped out and then we go. I figure we're there, we are already sewaty and hot and tired. WHy pack up the stroller, bags, etc. go get a shower, swim and then go back out and do it again. We will try it this year for the first time because the 1st half of our stay we're at Villas of Wilderness Lodge and we can get the boat to MK.

We are staying at the Coronado springs resort. We are thinking about doing Animal kingdom an MGM also. We are also thinking about going to Universal Studios an Adventure Island. The kids are older and we are not really going to be doing the shops. Going on a budget and want to enjoy the parks and th hotel. Probably the last big vacation before the kids start doing there own thing. Hopefully not but it seems that way these day. We want to see most of the parks if able, may fall down on our faces. lol We do have park hoppers and plan on using them. MGM seems small and AK closes early. So we figure we can do more on those days or make them the pool and dinner days. By the way what is a passporter and why do I need one? Thanks for all your help and advice.
Donna

A Passporter is a really helpful Guide Book: here's a link http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5041124 it gives very good tips on how to navigate the parks and how to use the Fast Pass system to your advantage, etc. I normally am not a guide buyer because I have traveled a lot growing up and am a pretty good navigator/organizer, but this is a really great book IMO.

Make mine a Strawberry on the Rocks!!!!

You got it :thumbsup2

I need one of those Margaritas today - just got a huge problem for a worry wart like me- probably a minor blip for a superwoman type - but here goes..

My little girl is unhappy (aged 4 nearly 5) - we had a real heartrending chat last night. She is jealous that her best-friend-EVER has other friends now too. At school there is one girl who is really quiet and the teachers made my dd's friend into this girl's "partner" as she is one of the confident kids etc - so the heartrending bit of the conversation was when I asked her why she was being so sad and quiet at school -"If I be quiet and sad like * then will they make L(best friend) MY partner" .
I talked with her, and this morning with her teacher and her best friend's mum too (wearing sun glasses - cos I really well up).
I really need some advice on how to handle this with her - she just seems so sad about it -I guess she is going through a phase of realising her friends have other friends too - she finds it hard to understand that her friends might feel the same way sometimes. The tears are welling up just writing this (I wish I wasn't so sensitive, I guess she takes after her mum!)

p.s. I have never ever had a margarita - are they nice?

Tessa - I really feel for you and your DD. I am a very sensitive person too. I wish I could help you but I still go through this sometimes when my sisters hang out w/other people. I don't mind it all the time but I like to know that they still want to hang w/me sometimes. When I was young though I remember when my best friend got into the "in group" in school I just started talking to other kids more. I don't want to think about when my DD goes through all this. That is the hardest thing about having kids is watching them go through the hard times. Hope someone has good advice on what to tell her.
Margaritas are good. I like the Margarita Mamas. Sounds good. I needed a few margarita breaks on this vacation. I LOVED it, but I wanted everybody happy and everything to go right, and w/a big group, that is hard. I think my bigger problem was that I was so.... tired. We woke up early every morning because we could get on all the rides fast. Then DD took naps in her stroller so we didn't take much breaks. Then I got a cold 2 days before we left for home. Still had the best time though. CRT was so..fun. The stuffed french toast was great. DD loved the princesses. I think her favorite was Lilo & Stitch at Ohana though. Watching your child go through the fun times is the best feeling in the world.

Make mine a Strawberry on the Rocks!!!!

Me too! I want to be a Margarita Mama! I always plan to relax and take it easy for at least one day during our trips to WDW, but it never seems to happen. It would be great to drink Margaritas by the pool with all of you!

I am still trying to plan my trip in October. DH says we should stay at POP since this is our third trip this year. We stayed there one night in January and it was much nicer that I expected, but the lines for the buses are horrible. I am trying to push for POFQ. We stayed there a few years ago and I loved it. They haven't releases any passholder discounts for rooms in October yet, so I guess I am going to just book our room and keep calling back to get the discount.

Hope everyone is having an great weekend. We had a great day today, but I am working tomorrow. I am actually looking forward to working, because it should be a slow day in the pharmacy and sometimes it is nice to get away from the family for a little while;)

Oh Tessa, I'm so sorry your little girl is hurting at such a young age:guilty: My DH always says, that babies come into the world to be loved, and they only know love and acceptance until they go to school, and then they get hurt. It really makes him sad :sad2:

What if you asked your DD if there is someone else who needs a friend, that she can be really nice to. It will make her feel better if she is concentrating on helping someone else, I think!

Maragaritas are kind of sour lemon-lime with sometimes added fruit or flavors and slushy with Tequila and salt around the top of the glass - they go really great with salsa and chips -(tortilla chips, not french fries :) ) have you had those? It is funny to think that we speak the same language and yet we have such different foods -
But, it's still "a small world after all." :grouphug:

7 DAYS UNTIL OUR VACATION!!!!!

Hi everyone!!! We're just kicking back here today after power washing evrything outside and getting things ready for DD's 4th birthday party/picnic next weekend. Being born June 24th and we'll be in WDW and now that she has classmates we're having it early. I can't believe she'll be 4 already.

Maureen glad to hear from you. October will be here before you know it! Do you fly down or drive? How are the kids?

Tessa: Sorry your DD is going through this (and at such a young age). My girls have always been very social and if one doesn't want to play they find someone else. What I might suggest is don't let her see how it bothers you because that would probably make it worse. And ask the teacher to switch partners on a daily basis. IMO, I don't think at that age or any age really...should have permanent partners (except High school labs). Kids should get to know each other and feel comfortable around everyone. In my DD's preschool class they have different partners all the time and they all get along so well. If you haven't suggested it to the teacher yet, I would. I think switching partners is socializing necessity for small kids because they need to learn how to get along with others and well socialize.

Tammie and Debbie: Happy packing. I hope you girls have great vacations! I know it's coming up soon..so have a blast.

Sewer,Jacyln, fromcratchmom, and whoever else I forgot...hope you are all doing well. Stop in and let us know how you are.

Pam
