Looking For Control Freaks & Worry Warts too........

I posted part 2 last night, and then hit some button that erased it all - so here goes:

Tues: I got up bright and early, didn't want to sleep another day away ;) I met Jenny and Jack for coffee and croissants, then we walked down to the beach to relax and buy some shell necklaces and bracelets from a gal walking down the beach. She made us uncomfortable with the bargaining, but I think she made out in the end. Here are a couple of pics of complete paradise!

We met our group for a beautiful buffet near a water fall and acquarium pool area. Then we walked around the grounds and through the acquarium areas - largest in the world 11 million gallons! Here are a few pics of the tops of the acquariums:

We went up to the Imperial club on concierge level and peeked in. The concierge invited us in and we looked around and took pics out on the balcony:

The first one is the suite in the "bridge" area you see in all of the famous pics joining the two buildings. This is the "movie star suite."

We went back to the pool for more sun and fun, and then met up for a comedy club show - not so great - the first two comedians couldn't think of any material for the "family hour" that we were at. The third one was really funny, just because he looked funny :rotfl2: We went for dinner at Chop Stix, an upscale Chinese place. It was snooty with good food and small portions - wouldn't recommend it! We decided to turn in early - we were exhausted!

I have company, so I'll finish tomorrow! Good Night!

Hiya all

WOW - those pics look like an absolute paradise - am STILL green with envy - and getting greener..... we are going on our long weekend on Friday (swimming, walks in the woods, crazy golf)- then nothing till April (though that will be Florida):goodvibes

Got our next ADR - Fantasmic priority seating with dinner at mama melrose 5pm - just what we wanted!!:thumbsup2 Again, we had a fabulous booker on the line (within seconds)- a gentleman with a gorgeous deep, slow voice, just like melted chocolate mmmmmm. (Yes - I should get out more!!)

Only Lilo and Stitch breakfast to go - thinking about making it a late one as we will be nearing the end of our trip by then - also, reading the boards it looks quieter later with loads more character one on one interaction.

Sorry to hear about your storms Pam2 - brought back memories!!!! I felt for you:hug: Hope things improve.

Had to pick up littlest early from school today - tummy bug, seems ok now she's been to the loo (if you know what I mean), so here's hoping she's fine for our trip on Friday... still, only going an hour and a half away, so no big hassle if we have to delay.

Cheers,
Tessa

Hi Gang!
Thanks for the TR on Atlantis Tammie! I love pix!!!!!! It reminded me of my honeymoon but without all that sunshine:rotfl2: !
Have fun on your long weekend Tessa and congrats on the ADRs.
Pam2 I am glad you are OK! Oh how terrible!
Sewer congrats to your son! Yeah him!

I am hurting bad right now. My back is in really bad shape and I have a Van Halen concert tonight...

I will be back tommorow to catch up and update!
Debbie

Tammie - Atlantis is beautiful! DH thought it was a fictional place! It almost looks like it, it is so pretty! I wish that my employer would send me on trips like that! Looking forward to seeing/hearing more.

Tessa - I hope that your DD is feeling better, and hope that she doesn't truly have a bug. Enjoy your weekend! That sounds like a fun get away! I remember from one of your previous posts, and I don't think that we have a place like that around here - nothing all-inclusive like that.

Rain and water is gone, but this AM was thick fog. Weird weather. Forecast thru the rest of the week is high 80's day/low 60's night, but rain again tomorrow. Rain is good, just not when it comes down so fast and furious that the streets/drainage can't keep up!

I am wondering how we'll pack for WDW - hopefully capris/shorts and short sleeved shirt during day, light-weight jacket/hoodie in evenings. That's what we've done on previous trips in Nov, but I've been hot before during the day. I don't want to be hot. Someone I talked to that went same exact week last year said it was COLD. I still haven't found out her definition of cold. It's too early to be watching the Florida forecast. I am tweaking my packing list, though! I know that DD14 will want to bring her own brands of shampoo, mousse, etc., and she now wears make-up, so we will have an extra suitcase this time. Carry-on is going to be my challenge. We land about 11am on Friday, and we'll go straight to DT Disney, as we can't check in until 3pm, and our luggage won't be there right away anyway. Need to catch up on the carry-on restrictions....

Have a great day, all!! Finishing up my lunch hour.:grouphug:

Sounds like a good plan! I am going to do the same. I always pack light in the sweatshirt area and then I buy them there! I am hoping for WDW Christmas clothes and jibbitz! You guys did see the WDW Halloween jibbitz, right!
Too cute! I am a souvineer-aholic!
Oh I hope it's warm when we go! I have NEVER been cold in WDW ever! I don't want this to be the first time.
Oh...just found out that Minnie and Mickey's houses will be closed for refurb while we are there! I am bummed! Toontown is a highlight for us!

Debbie - Your post wasn't there when I replied earlier, or I didn't see it! I hope that your back gets better! Getting old is hell, isn't it? ;) I just emailed a friend from high school, and we shared our oatmeal stories. I told him I have to put milk in mine, not water, because of the bone density thing (thanks, Tammie, I need to check out your recommended site!). Have fun at the Van Halen concert! Good for you! We love Van Halen, esp. Eddie! We too love Jibbitz and Crocs. I don't want cold, but cool - high 70's during the day would be nice! (That's cool for us!)

Hi all!

Debbie - Hope your back is feeling better. Rock on girl and enjoy Van Halen!
Tammie - You're vacation pix are gorgeous! I've heard nothing but great things about Atlantis & looking at your pix, I can see why!
Tessa - Congrats on your ADRs. It's quite satisfying when everything falls into place, isn't it?
Pam2 - Hope you're staying dry! I think the weather at WDW is perfect at the time of year you're going! It can be warm enough to swim during the day - but usually not muggy. At night, it's comfortable. I've gone at that time before and it was never too cold for flip-flops!

As for me, I'm surviving my second day of no contact with my 6th grader. Dropped her off yesterday a.m. for her week-long field trip to some campsite in the woods of Conneticut! It went ok - there were tears (mine, not hers!)
I at least waited until I got into my car:sad1: ! She was a little anxious about the no calling; reassured her that she could if she wanted, but didn't want to push it too much. As moms, we're supposed to encourage growth, independence, and maturity, aren't we? But really -- I WANT HER TO CALL! OMG - what AM I going to do during the college years!:scared:

On the bright side, I'm enjoying some one on one time with my 13 yr.old. It's weird to not have to split your time & attention. It's also nice that I have the TV to myself and can actually watch a show the same night it airs! Can't stand the commercials though - that's why I love Tivo!

Hope everyone has had a nice start to their week. I'm off soon to 13yrDD's open house tonite. Trying to stay busy while secretly counting the hours until Friday afternoon!
Take care! Cammie

Glad you are hanging in there! I am forbidding DD4 almost 5 to go away to college! Why? Because I went away to college!:rotfl2:

yes, this thread has 2 Pams; a Tammie; and now a Cammie
!

Funny! :rotfl2:
BTW I love TIVO too!!!!!

Pam2 - Glad you're okay. I keep forgetting that a few control freaks/worry warts are going to Disney in November. Lucky ducks!

Tessa - My DD's favorite character dining was Lilo & Stitch. It was so fun. We have never tried the Norway breakfast or Mama Melrose.

Tammie - Cool pics and great trip report.

Cammie & Debbie - I didn't go away to college but it sounds like I will have to find incentives for DD to keep her around here while going to college.

Sewer - Congrats to your son.

Sewer - Congrats to your son.

Thanks! I have to say I'm blessed with him, he's an A student too! The only "issue" I have is he's "Mr. Studly" where we live. He's a 13 year old 8th grade boy, and he trains at a two local high schools where there are girls who think he's in high school also. :confused3 They keep asking him if he would like go out with them, and the mean person I am keep telling him no! As if i don't have enough to worry about. :sad2:

Tammie...Your pics are absolutely breaktaking. Looks like an amazing vacation!

Pam2..We were in WDW mid November last year. I think you just need a lightweight jacket to use in the mornings and evenings, but during the day you will be fine with short sleeves and shorts/capries. I was never cold at all during the trip. In fact, the week before we got there it was it the 90s. Have a great time....we have so much fun taking in the Christmas atmosphere.

Debbie...Hope you back feels better soon. Van Halen were just in Philly a week or so ago and I heard that the show was awesome. Hopefully you enjoyed it. How is your DH doing?

Sewer...My DH wrestled throughout high school. He still talks about it all the time. I am so glad DS is a boy, because DH had plans to have DD wrestle before DS came along.

Well, I am off to get some packing done. Hope everyone is having a great night. Hi to Lisa, Pam, Tessa, Cammie, and anyone I missed. My brain is fried after working 13 hours:eek:

Maureen

I am taking 1/2 day off to go have lunch w/Taylor, go to her school book fair, go home and take a NAP!, then pick her up early from after school care (to avoid the school pick-up lane). I am so excited!!:yay:

Also - we are in the 30 day range for our WDW trip! I can't control myself!:yay: :yay:

I just had to share my excitement. Thanks for listening (reading!). More later...

Disney World weather today!
weatherimage.gif

I am listening to the live 365 Disney world music and it is making me very happy! I wish i could buy a CD of all the MNSSHP music. That would be so great! The music is from Cinderella's castle right now!

Just remembered to change DSs siggie age to 2! Yikes!

My back is OK but the concert which BTW was great really did a number on me! Oh well. I am trying to go drug free today though and give my stomach and my liver a break! No Allegra D or Advil....

DH is fine but exploring surgey options. I guess there was a whole special on his Afib on channel 11. Made it look very easy but Mark still said it's like a 5hr surgery.

Pbharris (Pam )How are you???
TinkLvr (Maureen) When are you leaving exactly?
DisneyOhana (Lisa) How is everything going??? Thanks for the WDW well wishes!
Magicfor2 (Tammie)Are you back to reality yet?
Ahibird (keahi) Still waiting for the TR!!!!
tttessa (tessa)Hope you have a fun weekend and your little one is better.
Lovin Life ( Pam2)I'm excited for you and with you!
TiDoubleGerr (Kristin)Where are ya?
Camster0307Not too much longer. Any calls yet?
Sewer They grow up too fast don't they! My DH also wrestled.

You got listen to the theme park music...it is awesome!!!!http://www.live365.com/stations/mistermouse?tmx=1192658214390

I had a good afternoon eating lunch and going to the book fair w/DD9, then had to end up working at home, so I didn't take my nap. At least we'll have an early dinner! I am getting ready to start it right now.

Do any of you do Photopass? I thought Tammie did. I am thinking of buying the CD prior to our trip. You can get a discount that way (from what I understand). I know there's a thread on it, and I need to read that, but I thought that you all could give me some good advice!

:grouphug:

Hi all!

Tammie: Beautiful pictures! Sounds like you had a wonderful time. Now I really wish we would have gone over there when the Disney Wonder stopped at the Bahamas! Maybe for our 20th Anniversary we can go. SO you had one of those tiny planes? My dad would call them puddle jumpers because they could barely fly over a puddle. I've been on one of them once..didn't like it, one bit. Too scary.

Pam2: Sorry about all the storms. If I could, I'd take some of your rain. We haven't had any measureable rain in many months.

Sewer: Congratulations on your son winning the tournament!! Made the trip that much more special.

Tessa..sorry you little one isn't feeling well. Glad you got your ADRS.

Cammie....the end of the week will be here before you know it. Do a lot of schools do this? I have never heard of kids going away for a week for nature camp.:confused3

Maureen, Debbie, Pam2 and hopefully not missing anyone...you are all close to going to WDW! :cheer2: Have a great time!

Lisa....Hi Honey! Hope all is well!

Pam

Not meaning to be morbid - we control freaks like to know what to expect.:guilty:

I do an MSN OUTLOOK schedule with:
our flight confirmation #
DVC Reservation #
ADR with the confirmation #
Early Park Hours each day
Late Park Hours each day
I list the resort phone and address
The calender is nice and colorful!

I roll clothing into tight rolls and pack into 1 gallon zip locks in case the luggage gets wet.

I zip lock any toiletries I am checking.

Ditto on the prescriptions, sunglasses etc.

I gather the boarding passes, OUTLOOK schedule and keep them in the carry on with our toiletries in the quart bags for the NTSA inspection.

On a health subject: IT IS GOOD to get checked for medical conditions you suspect. Listen to to your body. You have a family depending on you.
My husband is alive and healthy today because of early detection. At the first sign of Renal Cell Carcinoma in his brother, he went for tests. His brother was in Stage 3 at his diagnosis and my husband was beginning Stage 1. Once my husband's diseased Kidney was removed we began a life of "six months at a time" hoping we had succeded in getting it all. 2+ years and we are healthy.

Today his brother is near death - his surgeries and treatment extended his life with a sadly diminished quality of life (paralysis, colostomy, etc).

So take good care of yourself!:grouphug:

Two more days until Friday! :cheer2: And, no, still no phones calls from the woods of Conn.! Which is a good thing, I know - she must be doing well and having fun. I'm proud of her!:)

Pam2 - I would highly recommend photopass! First of all, it's free to have your pix taken - you decide how much you want to spend depending on how many pix you want to buy. Last year, I did purchase the cd (didn't pre-purchase;but I know there is a discount if you do). Anyway, I had 240 pix on my CD! Yes, I drove my girls crazy by stopping at EVERY park photographer but they take such nice pix! And, if there not busy, they'll take 5-6 shots of you - like your own personal photo session. You can add borders and signatures to any of your pix; I also had my xmas cards done through photopass. I could go on and on; I'm a picture freak and I think the photopass is one of the best things Disney has come up with. I've done it for a couple of years now, so if you have any other questions, I might be able to answer some for you. The website is www.DisneyPhotoPass.com if you want to check it out.

I've ramble long enough - don't want this thread to go on forever. Hope everyone has a good night! Check in with you later!

While it's great news your DH is doing well, It's sad his brother is not. I'm so sorry for your (and his) family. My prayers are with you both.

We've had 2 instances in the family that "things" weren't caught early. One died at 31 the other 13. After months of just listening to the doctor instead of going with their "guts." They lived for a few years, but not to the fullest.

Cammie - Good for your DD! I bet she's having a blast! She's probably wanting to call, but is maybe trying to be brave in front of her peers. Thanks for the comments on Photpass. I think it is something I will do on this trip. I do want to find out if I can upload my personal pics to the site if I purchase a CD, and put the Disney borders on them. Do you happen to know that? I need to investigate.

Maureen - How close are you to your trip?

Thanks for the tips, OKW Mom!

Debbie - I wish that our trips would overlap for a day or a couple of hours so that we could meet. I forget your days in WDW, but I think you leave the day before we get there. I couldn't get the Disney music to play on my laptop. I'll have to try it from the desktop.

I'd love to meet all of you! We'd sit and chat over coffee or margaritas!

A shout out to Tessa, Pam, Sewer, Lisa, Tammie, Keahi, and yeah - where is Kristen and Yvette?

To me, it feels like tomorrow should be Friday, but it's only Thursday.:sad2: I am ready for the weekend!

'night all!:grouphug:
