Hi Everyone! Longtime Disney freak; Fairly new Diser!

Been searching many threads. See this one saying "looking for control freaks..." and know I can fit in here. I am a SUPER control freak, but being a single mom with 2 daughters, don't I have to be?

Have read some older posts and you all seem like a nice group. I look forward to visiting this thread often.:yay:

Thanks for the warm welcome - my DSIL will appreciate a break from my venting and complaining!

I hope I can contribute more than that though! As I said, my girls and I love all things Disney: very into Hannah right now(was lucky enough to score tix to show in Dec.) & High School Musical (as am I-I think Zac is yummy too -is that wrong?)

We've been going to WDW just about every year since '98; became DVCers in 2000 (BWV-our home:thumbsup2 ); and are preparing for our trip this Nov.24-30 - :yay: :yay: :yay:

Born and raised a Jersey girl but have been living in Mass. for the past 15yrs - can't believe it's been that long!:scared1: (still have my joisey accent though)!

So glad I found this thread - looks like it can be one-stop shopping here!

Glad to have you here!

I also have a sick and wrong attraction to Zac Efron!!! It's crazy!

Welcome Camster! We love to vent, we love to plan, we love to make lists and pack :cutie: Stay awhile - we love to listen, too!

Debbie and Lisa: Thanks for the advice! That is exactly what we are doing - we are going to go ahead and sail with our oldest, Ryan. We did go to DL last year with the youngest, Mark. Ryan and his wife can't take vacation until Sept as they are just starting new jobs, and Mark and his wife need to go in June in between school terms. So, if they find a way to "finagle" it, we'll be happy - if not, they might do a 3-night in June - in fact, there is one sailing July 3rd - what a great time for them to go! We'll just have to plan another big family vacation in a few years! Thanks for listening.

P.S. Just thought I would vent about one more thing: It snowed here today :( It melted right away, but YUK! Winter is on the way.

Thanks Magicfor2 - I plan on visiting often!:thumbsup2

Can't believe you had snow already! We're not experiencing normal weather here either - was 95degrees yesterday! The leaves are falling off the trees and I have my AC on!:confused3 I'm ready for some crisp New England nights!

Fall weather is funny huh? I know the leaves are beautiful in NE in the Fall, but I really would have endless Summer if I had a choice :) I was watching tours of WDW and DCL cruise ships all afternoon - made me really miss the warm sunshine! I'm just not ready for Winter! :cold:

:cutie: Sorry Debbie, I know you would take exception, but I can't help it - there is a really funny spoof of a commercial for HSM3 - Return of the Seniors on SNL tonight! The BB team dancing in formation is just :rotfl2: After I rented HSM 1, I told DH that he should watch and give the moves to his frosh team he coaches this year :lmao:

Okay, that's all :cutie:

Man, this board needs to chill out. You are going on vacation right? How can this much stress be relaxing. I worry about about everything too, especially air travel, I hat e to fly but my docotr gives me something to calm my nerves and it works so weel that i often fall asleep before take off. Yeah, I know Disney costs a lot of money. But if I forget something, I'm sure I can find a replacement at Disney. Life's and vacations are too short to sweat the small stuff.

Thanks Tammie!

Glad you worked out your Dis situation.

I am cleaning today. I mean really cleaning out some stuff and it's pathetic! I don't get rid of ANYTHING!!! Now I am going to search on line to see if there are people I can pay to price, mark, sell my stuff! Why can't I just give stuff away!? What is wrong with me!! DDs clothes are the worst. I can't seem to part with any of those at all! And toys....OMG! It is truely a joke! I have 5 drum liners of clothes I am looking at right now! And that isn't the half of it! I'm always like "I'll sell it on Ebay...I'll sell it on Ebay"......
I have serious issues!!!!

Hey Debbie - been stuck doing the same as you this weekend. In the process of making the switch from summer clothes to fall clothes. I think it's safe to do now - was 96degrees this past week; but only 60 today.

My girls have WAAAAAY too many clothes - more than me! And they outgrow so fast. I bring my girls' old clothes to a resale shop here. They love me - I bring in "gently-worn" things from Gymboree and TalbotsKids. I don't get much - but what I do get I put towards my "MeFund". When it's a dad's weekend with the kids, I use the funds to enjoy a nice dinner or movie with friends. Every little bit helps!

I hear ya but it seems our resale shops in the area are so picky and then they just want to give you money out right for the stuff and it's always like nothing! It breaks my heart! Ebay isn't much better since it costs to list and ship and garage sales OMG they want to give you a quarter or two for your stuff! I better figure something out though! My small living qaurters are a joke right now!!! I sort and resort and never get rid of anything!

My friends have told me I should try to sell on Ebay - but I can't be bothered. I'm lucky - we do have quite a few of those resale shops around here. They may only give me like a $1 per shirt, but sometimes I go in with two hefty trash bags full of clothes (how embarassing!) I have walked out with $75-$100! Nice!:yay:

And now that my girls are teen and preteen, they've become much more vocal about what they'll wear. Those days of dressing them in those adorable "outfits" from Gymboree are over! So it makes it much easier to part with some of those things!

Yeah...I think DD being 4 (almost 5) she's still too close to the sizes!!! Maybe it will be easier as the clothes get older!!!!:rotfl2: I am the ultimate pack rack! Sometimes I think I should see a shrink about it (that along with a couple other things!:rotfl2:) I will miss my Gymboree when she won't do it...that and the princesses!

It's so sad when they get older. My daughter wants to be appear "cool' so she doesn't dare allow most of her friends to see that she still loves all things Disney and also still plays with Barbies. She has her best friend that shares these interests with and that's it!

She is a closet Disney fanatic though. She wouldn't dare wear Disney clothes to school, but when we go on vacation, it all comes out! She has her Tinkerbell t-shirts and messenger bag; Minnie visor and Mickey jewelry. I guess we all feel more comfortable wearing that stuff down there!

Thanks for the link! I like to do Fall cleaning, too - Spring cleaning - not so much. I want to get outside!!! I cleaned a bunch of boxes out of my office yesterday. I really need to deep clean, but for now, my neck hurts (I wonder how long I can use that one :lmao: )

How said that kids can't be themselves. Probably half of the class are "closet" about something, too! I remember playing with Barbies with my BFF in 6th grade - we had to keep it a total secret :goodvibes

Just finished watching The Bachelor. Don't know why I care to watch a bunch of girls gone wild (almost) I really like to see where they travel to, and of course the Bachelor is always a hunk. Okay, my confession is over - good night. :cutie:

I did just double check of my email address book and I happened to put
Pam 2's address in it. I am going to mail her a note. I just think it is really weird she just disappeared from the DIS........
