Going home. Storms are rolling in for the drive home. Have a great evening, all! I meet w/a trainer at the Y tonight, get my workout plan figured out. I am pumped about getting lean and mean! Well, maybe not mean...

Are there any neighborhood teenagers that could watch the kids while you work on the sale?
The sale starts at 7 am. There are 3 teenagers. Each of them has their own "start time". One will start at 10am. The other two it is noon. :confused3 The big problem is I want to sell a lot of toys from DS. Let's just say that will be quite a scene if he finds out what is going on...

I am sad to hear that your mom isn't cooperative about keeping the kids. My MIL begs us to let the girls stay w/her, and although I know my mom enjoys it, it's more like babysitting to her, and when she keeps them, she sometimes feels the need to have a day to recoup and get her housework and laundry done. Also, my mom works and MIL does not. That's a big difference. I hope that you meet up w/someone that will exchange babysitting w/you.

My SIL is awesome, she just doesn't live close. DMIL is about an hour. She has had a stroke. The last time we were up there, she was dying to watch DS and I found him trying to get the dog back into the house in the STREET! :scared1: So despite knowing she means well, I just can't leave them there with her alone. SHe is very sweet now, but man have I heard stories of her being very mean before the stroke.

That is why I tell DH that we are going to be a lot of help to our kids when they get older. I want to be one of those grandmas who takes the whole family fun places, and keeps the grandkids in their room so the kids can do fun stuff on their own. That's important. Can't wait! :goodvibes Well, can't wait for that or to retire on the beach some place with DH. :goodvibes

HI GIRLS!
You all were VERY chatty!!!! I skimmed through. Hope I don't miss too much.
OK.... the bugs are really coming out now - the bug guy told me they'd be out more in the next week or so trying to escape the pesticide. But the dog dug a hole right outside the back door and there are tons of dead ants in there! Gross! And the deer or rabbits or something are eating all my deer resistant flowers! And Bucky is crazy nuts today!!! Even when he's laying down, he has trouble in his eyes!!!
Does that make you feel better?

YES IT DOES! You must remain normal Martha or you are gonna have to leave!:rotfl2:

It's gorgeous here today too - supposed to go up in to the 80s. Girls will be home around 5pm; so I have some last minute food shopping to do. (I'm sure they haven't seen a fruit or vegetable all week - so I have to stock up! )

It is absolutely beatutiful here too!! It makes taking care of of the high maintence puppy MUCH easier when

Yea! Cammie's girls are coming home tonight!!! Did they have a good time at least? I'm sure you'll be off tonight. I'm going to post some changes to my itinerary - need everyone's opinions. It's tough planning for a large group like this....
What she said!!!!!

I just found out that the "new" condo is across the street from our favorite family pub, and next door to a great breakfast spot - so we can walk to it! I'm a happy girl! AND they have ocean front condos still left!

Cool beans!!

Hi all sorry is just a flying visit and i promise next time i will return with photos, has been soo busy since we've been home, DD was straight back to school on Monday then i had to get her prepared for a school trip away till Friday and now she's gone start thinking about my holiday to France in 2 weeks which includes Disneyland Paris
Anyway hope you're all good
Catch up soon
xxxxxxxx
Glad you are still with us and looking forward to more.......

Laura - okay, now if I meet up with you, you must promise in front of everyone on this thread that you are not a crazy stalker!!!!! :rotfl2:
Of course she's a stalker. We stalk all things WDW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kara, every time I skim names, I always misread yours. For some reason, this is where my mind always goes.

caraboo.jpeg

I'm just talking to myself again, aren't I?

ME TOO!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
No, DH prefers Jasmine!!!!
My Dh, DB and DDad too! Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I wonder we why????

I am! I'm probably off for the night; girls and I need to catch up. Have a good night!

Of course! You will miss us a little though!

So my DSF stopped by today just to say hi. He asked why I didn't need any help the day before the party next week. I said I thought I had mom lined up to keep the kids for me to join in the community yard sale. He said, nope. He said he asked her about it twice and she has told him both times she intends to go to this gathering. She just figured she'd tell me at the last minute. Thank goodness he was nice enough to pop by and let me know.
So now I'm thinking I should just scrap the whole sale. After all, I have less than two weeks to get ready for the party for DS and then DSIL & DBIL are in. You know, this is just so frustrating. Just tell me no on the front end. Not this 2 hours before stuff.

If it's not one thing it's another, right!

Oh and PAM... that sounds like a good plan for summer! Way to go. We don't mind your novels! Type away!

Hi there. Thanks for the suggestions about the allergy meds. It is the youngest DD that has them. I like the idea of the D version. Older one has started on Claratin, it seems to be working. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm thinking about the mint project. I love the other designs she has done.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hi girls! Another fly by on my way to bed - well, actually I'm in bed, trying to type without waking DH. :tiptoe: I had a crazy busy day today, and tomorrow is going to be the same.

Pam, I love being able to take off whenever I want. It is so worth it to work for myself!

Kara - cute ideas- you're the creative one! I need to make the coin holder for sure. Anyone who will wrap those little candy bars has too much time on their hands! :rotfl:

Laura - hope you find something to help the kiddos!

Cammie - glad your girls are back! :yay:

Erin - Welcome Home! Now Share.

Tessa - lovin' your TR!

Debbie, Jillian, Renee, Keahi - Hi!

Okay, nighty-night! I might actually get to post on Friday night - although it might be date night - we'll see. What goes with coconut rum?

Kara – I saw on the news this AM about a lady in Florida that found an alligator in her kitchen! I am not sure where, but I thought of you! She heard a sound and thought it was her cat, but didn’t sound like her cat! Did your bug man spray for those?!!

My girls will be home this summer for the first time ever. No day care. Last year, DD14 was a helper, even though I paid full price for her. They’ve been going there since they were toddlers. They did a field trip every day, and my girls loved it. This summer, they will stay up late, sleep late, then I will go eat lunch w/them one day, MIL will go do something w/them one day, I will take ½ day vacation one day, and I am hiring someone to take them somewhere one day. Those somewheres may sometimes just be out to lunch, the pool, library, mall, movie…DD14 goes on mission trip for a week, there’s the weeks at ILs, and we will do a small family trip. I’ve probably already told you all this. I forget what I’ve already told! I think it will work out OK. I am hoping so.

I sure WISH there was a spray for alligators, and snakes, and lizards....

I think your summer plan sounds great for your girls!! This will be the firs summer that DD isn't in day care, although our subdivision has Kids Camp which is similar, except that she'll be swimming, golfing, playing tennis, every day. It's the neatest little clubhouse they have on property, right by the pools. She loves it!! And it costs the same as I used to pay in SC for the "normal" daycare.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
What goes with coconut rum?

Coke or diet coke. OR.... this was my magic drink a couple of weeks ago. 1 part XFusion, 1 part coco rum, 1 part peach schnapps, then top with V8 Fusion peach mango. Ohhhhhh, so refreshing!

DH was feeling lonely last night so I had to hang with him and we discussed all our snack options in WDW! OK, somebody tell me... exactly where can we find a Dole whip? DH has named it a must have while we're there.

Friday night we are revising our itinerary, I think. I should be around for drunk posting but I may be "distracted." Darn husbands trying to take our time! :rotfl2:

Started packing clothes yesterday - yeah, now I see why they say to pack and then remove 1/2. I had 10 shorts and 2 pants for DD - we're going for 6 nights!!! And I had 15 shirts packed! Not to mention her princess dress! But since her clothes are still small, I usually pack a change of clothes for her in case she gets wet, a stain, or just really hot and sweaty. But 15 shirts for 6 nights??? I've got issues.

OK, off to work.

Cammie - glad your girls are back, did they have fun? HOpe y'all had a good night last night. Is this the longest they've been away from you? Can I ask any more questions???? :rotfl2:

okay just stopping by before school starts.

Cammie - hope all went well last night. Glad to hear the girls are back.

Pam - sounds like your girls will be set for the summer. That's a big step but it sounds like they are ready. I too read about the alligator and thought of Kara and her "bugs"

Steamer Trunks. They really should come back into fashion. It would make packing so much easier. I have never heard the pack and then remove theory. I will have to revisit what I have set for DD.

Youngest DD and I are going to head to the Crocs outlet store. I think I am going to pick up a pair for all of us. Still really torn about the shoes for WDW. I am going to have my own suitcase just for shoes. :rotfl:

Laura, as for shoes? I really am only taking 3 pairs of crocs and 2 pairs of flip flops - they remind me of the Tevas that Cammie wears (I checked them out, too!), thicker sole and wide straps. Don't know if I can do all day walking in them though. But I'm not even taking any sneakers at all! And for DD I'm taking 2 pairs of crocs, her princess shoes (which she'll wear all of 15 minutes I'm sure!) and her flip flops. DH will be the only one taking sneakers, but I'm packing his crocs too. He is getting used to them, and he admits they are super comfy, he just can't wear them out in public. This is a man who has no problem wearing a pink shirt, but he won't wear crocs. :confused3 I have a feeling that by day 3 he'll be wearing his crocs to the parks.

OK, off to get some work done. I got a lot done yesterday so I can play today...

Good morning girlfriends! The girls are home and I'm exhausted already! DD and I stayed up until midnight last night chatting. She's so awesome! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we stay this close into the teen years!

All in all, they survived and arrived home in one piece. DD was very stressed travelling with her dad. She just kept commenting how unorganized he was; she was the one giving him tips on how to handle things. (I've taught her well!) DD also mentioned that Dad didn't rent a wheelchair-accessible van; decided to just put DD in the car seat that we use for the plane. Well, midway through the weekend, my ex decided he didn't like the way DD was sitting in her car seat so....... he had his wife sit in the back seat and hold my DD on her lap!!!!!!!!!!!!:scared1: Yes, driving back and forth from the hotel and to the airport, my 60 pd. daughter was being held, unrestrained, on the lap of his 98 pd. wife. I cannot stand this level of stupidity! To be so careless and just think "oh, nothing will happen!" All it takes is ONE fender bender - :sad2: So, of course, I need to address this with him and he'll get mad because he HATE me nagging him on how to do things. (Well, if he just did everything right the first time.......:rolleyes1 )

Anyway, on the our little world................

Kara - I already think you're taking too many shoes! I would ditch a pair of Crocs. Are taking the Minnie Jane ones? I'm still thinking of getting those. I tried the Mary Janes on and thought they were more comfortable than the regular crocs. And, of course, I'll always have my Tevas with me! Also, can you let me know - those m&m holders for the coins - did quarters fit in there also?

Laura - Hope DD is feeling better! I don't follow the "pack & remove" theory myself. I figure, if I've gotten everything to fit in the suitcase - then it's all coming with me! Don't forget to leave room, though, for souvenirs you may be bringing back.

Ok, don't want this post to get too long.....
Hi Renee, Debbie, Tammie, Jillian, Pam, Tessa, and Erin (glad you're still w/ us and looking forward to seeing pix!)

I could do drunk-posting tomorrow nite too - DD is having some friends over, so they'll be occupied. May want to go over my trip intinerary too!

Hiya -

I wore crocs for 2 days then walking sandals for one , then crocs ...... etc and had NO foot problems with our 10 day trip - I suffer from
a) one bunion - and I have NEVER worn heels!!! and
b) plantar fascitis (sp?) in the other foot - inflamed tendon causes REAL pain when you take a step.

but crocs in particular have really helped put a stop to that pain!! So I'd go with crocs every time!

Tessa

Hi all i am sooo excited i have just finished editing my photopass cd and just done the order so it should be here in the next week :woohoo:

How much am i missing my DD??? After spending so much time with her on hols i won't see her till tomorrow i hate not seeing or speaking to her just to ask how her day has been .. which i am sure would be "it's been wicked mum" especially as she's been quad biking, doing archery etc etc but a mother likes to know, Cammie i do commend you for dealing so well with being without your girls for much longer than i am having to deal with and i'm so pleased you have them back home with you

Had so much fun on our hols even though there were some testy times what with there being 16 of us in 1 house :scared1: although it was a big house thankfully!!!! Wishing i was back there already!!

You girls are gonna have to give me some major tips now as wanting to take DD for her 11th birthday February 2010 and would like to stay onsite which we have never done so am gonna need all the best tips on getting the best prices as i don't have much money and have to save really really hard to get there so over the next 2 years you girls are my helpline hahahaha :rotfl2:

Anyway gotta go do more washing right now i will be back soon and will have photos i promise!! Did the Pirate and Princess Party with my DD dressed as Alice (the only 1 we saw that night) which made her feel extra special andf that was after a trip to BBB OMG how beautigul she looked (biased obviously) so will return with pics

:wave2:

Cammie - yes, quarters fit in those M&M holders. So I layered it 2 quarters and 1 pennie so when she sees a machine she doesn't have to dig for the coins, they're all right there together! I found a list of locations on allearsnet but if you have another one I'd love to see it!

I do have the minnie janes and to me they're not quite as comfy as the others. I think because they run a bit smaller so my toes are closer to the end, plus they don't have as thick of a sole maybe?

As for your ex, I love the way you handle those situations with your girls - doesn't sound like you talk him down to them and that's great. My sis just called and she and her DH are having problems and she tells her 8 and 9 year olds all about it!!!! WTH??? Sounds like you definitely need to have a chat with him though. Men just don't get it - they think it could never happen to them, ya know? My DH goes to bed at night and leaves the doors unlocked, when I say something about it he's like, yeah right, like someone is going to drive all the way into the back of the neighborhood...... I try to explain to him all those people that it DID happen to? They probably thought it couldn't happen to them either.

And this is why I am taking 3 pairs of crocs with me! :cool1:

Oh Erin I just got goose bumps reading your post, just hearing the excitement! Especially about DD dressed as Alice! I'm soooooo glad you had a wonderful trip. I'd like to hear more about some of the testy times though so I can know what to maybe expect traveling with our group of 9. I'm still really nervous about that. In fact, DH kep saying (sarcastically!) "we're gonna have soooo much fun." I know he's nervous too cause they are his family!

Oh i know the Alice Dress was perfect all CM's were calling her Alice, all Princesses were calling her Alice, the lady in BBB said she had never had an Alice there before so she was loving it .. Yes my DD felt like a true princess all day :cloud9:

Hmm the testy times!!! Well they mostly revolved around teenagers having no boundaries .. there were basically 3 families in the house so we split cupboards and fridge shelves between us all and teenagers just helped themselves left right and centre, very tricky for me to keep my mouth shut believe me, i love them all very much but have not lived with a teenager since i was 1 :rotfl2: so of course have no patience for their lack of manners etc .. Other times were when certain members of group got a little shirty with others, my family (5 of us) tried to keep out of any of that tension unless it involved us or any rudeness :rotfl2: We all had a great time and will probably do it again, but i guess you just need rules which me being me i laid them down, :rotfl2: yes yes I am a Control Freak!!!! Like we will all do our own thing sometimes and noone is to be stroppy about it ... We will be coming in late as we are park addicts :rotfl2: ... We will be leaving early as we are park addicts :rotfl2: ... But my cousin who has DD3 and DS2 thanked me so many times for running the holiday and said her kids had the best holiday because i found the best things for them to do with little or no hassle so to all those out there who don't plan let that be a lesson hahahhahaha

Unlike you Kara they were my family rather than inlaws so i could be a little more blunt about how i felt .. not sure if i could have gone with my ex inlaws there may have been a first Disney Murder!!! I suggest that you make sure your family (you, DH and DD) have your "own time" otherwise you may not have as much fun

Thanx Erin! You're right about our own little family trying to get away at times. I told DH that I might find myself getting "accidentally" separated from the group a lot! :rotfl2: Even though we stress that to everyone, MIL just doesn't see it that way, and I can see FIL making a comment about them paying for the trip so they want to see the grandkids having fun. But they are both fairly scatterbrained so I won't leave DD with them in the parks. Even my SIL said the same thing (and they're her parents!). MIL likes to tell a story all the time about how DH almost drowned when he was 2 because they were apartment managers and she was cleaning the pool and not paying attention to him and she looked up and he was on the bottom of the pool. WTH??? I wouldn't be bragging about that story if I was her!!! But they just don't pay attention. One time she told me about taking DD to the store with her and how she kept running away from her across the parking lot. Hello? Ever consider holding her hand????

Anyhoooo..... I just hope they don't mention how they are paying for everything, because I may not be able to keep my big mouth shut and I'll whip out the checkbook, write them a check, and take off with my family! :rotfl2: No, seriously, that is totally something I'd do! After all, DH and I are both burning our vacation time, plus all the planning I've done? Yeah, it's my vacation too!

OK, enough MIL rant for today! Laura, enjoy your POP neighbors! :rotfl2:

OK, DH just called at 9:26 and told me the golf cart would be here in 45 minutes to an hour! It's now 10:11 and no golf cart. Yes, I'm a worry wart, but I'm like a kid on Christmas morning with this new "toy!"
