I'm listening to MouseWorld Radio and I see that I missed Jack Wagner. Is that Frisco Jones???? Oh, how I'd love to run into him at WDW someday!

No, it's not. I saw it on the playlist and thought the same thing. But when I finally listened to it, don't think it's him.

Have you heard the recording of the "Monorail resort loop" yet? My daughters and I LOVE it! You just close your eyes and can imagine yourself riding it while listening to the announcements. I really do like listening to it!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the monorail loop!!!! Right now I'm hearing the Main Street Rope Drop! I can really imagine myself there! I think for me, Main Street is IT when it comes to WDW!

To answer my own question... I found this on Wikipedia. Alas, no Frisco! :sad1:

Jack Francis Wagner (December 17, 1925 - June 16, 1995) was the official park announcer for Disneyland until 1993. He is famous for the various announcements over the park PA, for parades, special events, etc. He also did a lot of voice work for the attractions themselves, including instructions, emergency precautions, and safety spiels. One of his most famous lines is from a safety spiel at the Matterhorn Bobsleds attraction: "Remain seated please; permanecer sentados por favor." Because of the prevalence of his voice over the park, his nickname was "The Voice of Disneyland".

I'm scared to post now. He's a scary guy. He can be our bouncer on the CFWW trip.

Wow! I was busy today and missed a lot of fun!
Laura, Laura, Laura - you get the Uberplanner trophy! I agree with Cammie and I think Kara - you will be able to get in for lunch, and if you have EVERYTHING scheduled, your trip will be taking you instead of you taking your trip!

I am nominating Debbie our tribal leader - she brought us all together! :grouphug:

I agree with the motion. She will get to have the largest bat of them all. :rotfl:

I am afraid that I may have overplanned. Really it is only the meals that I have scheduled out. Granted I really haven't taken my park plan out yet. I bought a book that has a number of travel plans in them. DH says let's just go with the flow. Here I am trying to reduce the time in line and hit all the attractions. I think I need to walk away and not do that. Okay maybe just a little so we are in the right places for the meal. Aghhh! I will go nuts.

Kara the carpet thing comes from the other thread :) I'll have my lime green mickey with me on my bright red baggallini . I still have to get to Home Depot for ones to tape to our luggage. BTW just got my luggage tags from the travel company. Whooo-hooo!

The paper thing should work for Cammie.

As far as photo shopping pictures goes, there is not out of box program that comes with your computer that will allow you to manipulate the pictures. Okay Paint will allow you to change colors but it is really tedious and you can change file types from .jpeg to .gif but those aren't things you would normally do to print pictures.

When I post pictures to our family website. I Roxio's CD creator. It has an automatic thumbnail maker in it. Thumbnails are what our avatars are.

If want to manipulate them further you would need to either download a shareware or freeware package or buy one. I have Adobe Photoshop. There is a lot of stuff in there that I will never touch. I don't have the brain space. If I did I might forget my phone #. We something would have to go. :rotfl:

I really can't recommend a off the shelf package because I don't know them. I would recommend CNET.COM as a good place to start looking at photo editing packages. They review all sorts of techie stuff.

Oh I hope this makes the board......

Hiya all,

thanks for the warm wishes - we are packing now ready to be off to Gatwick tomorrow morning, so will get back to you all on our return!!

Just can't think of anything other than our trip right now, so am not even going to try to catch up on the thread.....:rolleyes1

"See" you all soon!!!!

Laura - I've never reallly done a park planning tour before - i.e. what rides to do and when - because we're usually there at a "slow" time so I don't worry as much. For my trip in June, I think I'm going to map things out a little more. Since it's just my one DD and me, it will be a little easier running around and making it work - and I really want to get in as much as possible with her. We've never done a rope drop before and that's DEFINITELY on our list for this trip!

That being said, I think there are some rides that you really do need to plan around if they are important for your family to ride. For instance, if you don't get to Dumbo or Peter Pan early in the morning, the lines get outrageously long as the day goes on! I think some sort of park strategy would be really helpful.

If I have Microsoft Office Works, doesn't that include some sort of photoshop? I usually download my photos onto the computer; never do much else to them. When I want to print them, I transfer them over to Shutterfly. I also use photobucket.com to post pictures here. Do I need to be doing something more than that?

Tessa - HAVE FUN!!!!!! Take lots of pics cause we wanna see them when you return!!!! Be safe! :cool1:

OMG Laura - I have the bright red baggalini too!!!! I also bought the Overland Donner bag (see, I pay TOO much attention to these boards and ended up with both of these highly recommended bags!). The only problem with my baggalini (have you used yours yet?) is that the buckle falls right on my collarbone and hurts really bad the next morning! I think I'll have to rotate bags each night. Although the baggalini is VERY convenient to get to everything! Oh, well.....

Kara - I have the Overland Donner bag - red w/black daisy lining. I call it my mickey colors! It worked great for our trip in November. Held alot; really liked the two water holders on each side. I'm looking for something a little smaller also. Sometimes I just didn't need to take that bigger bag out all the time.

I agree with the no park planning. I have everything else mapped out, but not the minute by minute, hour by hour, park plan. This time we are probably heading straight for Fantasyland to hit Dumbo and Winnie and Peter Pan first before it gets too crowded (since we're with large group) and then be in Toontown when it opens at 10:00 to meet the characters. Otherwise the meet n greet line can be over an hour (yes, Laura, that's in May!). We're also trying to make a rope drop - never done it before even though we're always there for EMH mornings! :confused3

Our first day in MK is the afternoon we get there after we check into our rooms. I think I'm going to encourage the gang to start out "going left" into Adventureland and Frontierland. We can probably knock out those two lands by the time Spectro starts at 9pm. That way when we come back for rope drop a few days later, we can head straight for Fantasyland and then go right toward Toontown and Tomorrowland. But I have a feeling my nephew will not want to leave Fantasyland..... he tends to be a little, how shall we say..... obstinate???

Cammie - how did you wear it - over one shoulder? Or across your body? I don't know if I can get all my stuff in there - rain ponchos, a couple ziplocs, camera, garbage bag and mainly the big 5x7 autograph book I made for DD from the creative disigners - it's nearly 2" thick!!!! But I love the way the flap opens to reveal everything you're carrying (just about!!!) - seems easy to maneuver. It just wasn't real comfy to carry? May need to get DH to carry the camera or something.... Plus, I like to bring a change of clothes for DD just in case she plays in the water....

Actually, when we went to PPP last month, we rented a locker at MK and I think that's the way to go! It was $5, but because the weather was so iffy then (70 during the day by 50's at night!) we were able to put sweatshirts in the locker and not carry all day. I may do that again on days we don't hop too much.

Okay now I am getting a little worried. ;) First I find out you were honemooned the same year at WDW as we did then we are both staying at POP the same week and going to BBB the same day. AND now the baggallini.
It is a sign that we have to meet. :goodvibes

I am using mine now and it is full of baby supplies. Love it. It is so much easier than lugging another diaper bag around. My only complaint is that DD 17 mos loves the zippers so I never know what she is going to pull out. :rotfl:

When I want to print them, I transfer them over to Shutterfly. I also use photobucket.com to post pictures here. Do I need to be doing something more than that?

That's what I was thinking. I really want to catch Peter Pan and some others. Looking at the crowd charts May isn't super busy but I still think the lines could get long. Do you have any special things you do in line to entertain the girls? That is one of my biggest fear is that DD will get board in line.

Microsoft Works does contain a wizzard that will help you store and print pictures. It is a very generic package. It does just the basics. You're doing everything just fine. Now I did notice that photobucket has some photo editing things like red eye reduction and resizing. The resizing feature might work to create avatars. I just noticed it has a button for thumbnails.

Now that being said. Shutterfly and other photo developing places have their own software that will help "maximize" the picture. They will adjust color and brightness automatically for you. The photoshop is nice if you print you own photos or do "special things" to them. I have added people in photos before.

Bottom line.... your just fine. If your pictures your are printing are coming out the way you want them then don't worry.

HAHAHAHA I said don't worry.... That's why we're here! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Laura, it is getting a little creepy, huh? :rotfl2:

As for the crowds in May, I do think it's "catching on" as I seem to hear of a lot more people traveling at this time. Here's an idea of crowds. Dumbo was always over an hour wait, except when I was camped out about a 1/2 hr before Spectro and DH and DD ran over to Dumbo and only waited about 10 minutes. Also, we just grabbed fast pass for Peter Pan, then got in line for Winnie the Pooh and waited about 1/2 hr. Then we went to ride the Carousel (actually it will be closed when we're there!) or Small World (never a line here!), then hit Snow White (maybe 1/2 hr wait) and by the time we did this, it was time to go ride Peter Pan with our Fast Passes. And that was basically Fantasyland in about 2 hrs. After we hit all the major attractions, we slowed down and strolled along, took in the sights, and relaxed.

At DHS, we grabbed fast passes for Rock n Roller Coaster (this was in the afternoon), then waited 1/2 hr for ToT. It seemed that most fast passes were for an hour to 2 hrs in the future so we never strayed too far from the attraction we were using our fast pass for. It worked out very well.

Same with Splash Mtn and BTMRR - we got a fast pass for one and then waited for the other (again, only about 1/2 hr at the most!) and by the time we got off we were nearly ready to hit the fast pass attraction.

You'll get the hang of it after 2 or 3 times using fast pass! But be prepared to make the bonehead moves too! Like the time we got our FP for Space Mountain and then decided to wander clear across the park for some unknown reason!!! Then back all the way across the park again to use our Fast Pass - yes, that was our bonehead move!!!! :rotfl2:

Can I just say it's 10am and DD and I made a pact to stay in our jammies until lunch today!!!! :cool1:

I wore mine across my body. I've heard some people complain on these boards that the strap digs into their neck - I didn't have that problem. I found the bag to be quite roomy - though don't know if it will hold all that you mentioned. For me, I fit a video camera, digital camera, suntan lotion, three rain ponchos, and some small bags of snacks; plus two water bottles in the outside pockets. Didn't feel too stuffed. What king of Baggallini do you and Laura have? Can you post a link to where I might see it?

Regarding the rides - I think some rides, no matter what time of year, always will have long lines. Dumbo does because they don't have a fastpass system; Peter Pan is a long line because, as someone on another board had explained, it is one of the slowest boarding and moving rides in all of WDW.

Thanks for the words of encouragement regarding my computer skills. I just feel like I have options at my fingertips and I'm just not smart enough to utilize them. I'm a real picture person so I don't want to be missing out on anything. I think once I got comfortable using some type of photoshop, I would probably have a blast with it!

I'm looking for a little guidance for our first MK day in June - which will also be the day we check in.

We should get to WL by 2pm. If our room is ready, we'll check in, unpack and explore the resort because we've never been before. We have 6pm ADRs at Artist Point and then plan on getting to MK by 8pm. It's late EMH and we definitely want to last until 2am. Where would you go first? We've never seen Wishes or SpectroMagic, so I want to see those - Wishes at 10pm; Spectro at 11pm. I'm thinking the later it gets, the emptier the park would be, so should I save the more popular rides for after Spectro (like SM,POTC, HM,BTMR). But then I'm thinking, the later it gets, the younger kids will be leaving the park, leaving us older ones, which may mean those thrill rides could still be busy. Maybe we should save Fantasyland for the end of the night? I'm so excited to stay in MK that late - I want to make sure we get as much done as possible!

OK, first let me say it's the Baggalini messenger bag - I got mine on ebags.com but I'm having trouble posting pics right now.

As for your plans, I love your first day already! I would so not leave WL until after dinner! And I LOVE ARtist Point! Get the salmon and the buffalo!!!!

OK, if you get to MK around 8ish, I'd head to Frontierland or Adventureland. Then make your way to Main St for fireworks (or wherever you prefer to watch them). A great place to see Spectro is right between Liberty Square and Frontierland (kinda near Hall of Prez). There are brick walls to sit on so it's nice. Then I would totally save the big attractions for after Spectro! You'll be fairly close to Splash Mtn and BTMRR then, so maybe just stay on the left side of the park that whole evening. No sense trying to run all over the place on your first day, right? You could hit POTC and JC before Wishes, hopefully, and maybe even Haunted Mansion in Liberty Square. Then after you finish that side, meander over through Fantasyland, I would think it would be pretty empty at that time of night, right? :confused3

I had heard a good place to watch Spectro was in Frontierland; is there someplace close to there to see Wishes? Or is the best view for that in front of the castle?

I'm very excited to eat at Artist Point also! My only possible dilemna is this: I'll have my AP vouchers and I want the DDE card to use for the Arstist Point dinner. Can't get the DDE card until I turn in the AP vouchers for the real AP; which means DD & I will have to take a quick ferry ride to guest services at MK to pick that all up before dinner. I have a sinking feeling that once we get to the MK front gates, we'll just want to go in right then and there! I will try to fight the urge though - there's a Grand Marnier flight on the menu at Artist Point that I'm dying to try! (along with the food, of course!)

No need to post the Baggallini pix; I'll go to ebags myself. Thanks!

You'll be so proud of me! I've got DH seriously talking about buying a DVC resale!!!! Looks like BWV are one of the most expensive though as far as annual maintenance dollars go. Aside from Vero Beach (we thought that might be a good "home" resort since we live so near both WDW and the beach!). But Vero Beach is over $6.00 per point for maintenance (or whatever the annual stuff is called!).

However, the selling cost per point is much lower for Vero Beach and Hilton Head. And even BWV has some selling low. Decisons, decisions......

Do you find the DDE is a better deal than the DDP?
