Shopping can be creative too!!! I know I am good at that!Honey, even my DH can sew a button and I can't.
Hey - I'm a good shopper too.
Can also sew a button too!

Ok - first Kara is making her own taco seasoning. Now we've got Tina making her kids clothes.
God, I feel like such a loser!

Oh no, Debbie! What will happen to you flights????
BTW, this no shopping thing is working out great! My pantry is dwindling down little by little, so much so in fact, that I had to rearrange it because I was finding things I didn't know were in there! I plan to do this every so often (no pantry shopping) because it not only saves money, but it really helps with the cluttered pantry! Good call Debbie!

I may need to call the exterminator back. I think one of them came in with the mail though. I'm so scared of creepy crawly things that I won't even get the mail. So Ally gets it - my brave little girl!
ONe thing we've started doing is to grill out a couple of extra chicken breasts on the weekend, and use them in salads. We do grilled chicken salads a couple of times each week in the summer. Speaking of salads, our clubhouse just changed their menu and now they have a Caribbean salad - mixed greens, mandarin oranges, grapes, dried cranberries, yellow raisins, walnuts, cheese (I think feta or gorgonzola, can't remember!) with a honey lime vinagrette! Oh, I was in heaven - truly the BEST salad I've ever had - of course I had them add grilled chicken to make it a meal.
Jillian - did you see the Mulan and horse design that Natalie added?

OOOhhh...have to ask you other moms out there....about Strep. DD only ever had it once in 1st grade. (She's in 6th now) DD12 has had a sore throat, headache, tired, stuffy, but also runny nose and a fever for 6-7 days. At first it was hard to swallow, and still alittle bit, Fever is gone. Neither of us have white patches on the back of our throat, just red. Normally, I treat most things as a virus because that's what they usually are. Do you think it's about time I take her to be seen by a Dr.? I guess if they test her for strep then I'll know that we probably have it too. She is going to hate me for it though. Last time, they literally had to PIN her down to get the swab culture.

and worked for pediatricians. My inclination is that because the fever is down and her throat is less sore, she is turning the corner - you are usually sick for 7 to 10 days with a virus. However, like someone said, (Jillian, I think) people are more susceptable to strep if they have another virus when exposed, and it can become bacterial. You don't want your trip ruined. I'm one of those moms who never took my kids to the doc until something was way apparent - sometimes got a good talking to because I waited too long.
Your trip is really close!
What do you mean do away with using miles????? I've got 40,000 miles I'm saving for our trip to Jamaica next year!
I really think that the airlines need to do away with flights to/from the smaller airports. I know this sucks if you don't live in a big city, but it makes sense. When I was a kid, I lived in Kansas City, and we had nearly an hour drive to the airport cause it was waaaaaaaay on the other side of town. So maybe folks need to drive a couple of hours to an airport, it's a small price to pay to keep prices down. I lived in Greenville, SC for 14 years and they have probably the nicest "small" airport I've ever seen. But they are only 1 1/2 hrs from Charlotte (a USAir hub) and 2 1/2 hrs to Atlanta (the largest or 2nd largest depending on the day! ) airport! Also, Asheville, NC has an airport only 1 hr away, and Columbia, SC is only 1 1/2 hrs away. Do we really need 5 airports when 2 would do? And by closing those other three, those cities would still only be 1-3 hrs from a MAJOR airport. I don't know, just me rambling. And the funny thing is, I live in the 13th largest city in the US and Jacksonville is not a hub for any airline so it's virtually impossible to get a non-stop flight anywhere. Weird, huh?
Tina! Have fun with all that cute fabric! I too am a homemaker loser. I can't cook, don't sew much (except my grandaughters bedding, which you can see in our last thread from last July) and I kill all the plants, too!![]()
Hi Laura, Jillian, Debbie if you get here, Keahi, Tessa, Erin, Cammie - everyone else! Happy Saturday!
