I am just starving for attention aren't I???
Thanks Laura!

Have a great afternoon girls!

Run for the bushes Debbie (you know I'll never forget that don't you? ;) )!

Bad t-storms here now - and oooooh, is it ever hot and humid! Black as night right now! Jeff is grilling out, poor sap! :rotfl2:

I just ran to Walgreens and picked up tea tree shampoo AND conditioner. I think Jeff and I will be using it this week too, just to be safe! And since the ENT has us putting a plug in Ally's ear this week while she's on these ear drops, she's been showering at night in our bathroom, so since the shampoo is in there, yup, I know I'll be using it at least! Of course I'm itching everywhere - hopefully it's like the last couple of times and it's just sympathy itching! Yikes!

OK, logging off, the thunder is a rumblin!

 Debbie, thanks for the info - I went back and read the rest of our last thread - I was just so behind - anyway, about the bushes
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Loved the pics, too. What a great place to be a bum! I have never planned out ways to stay and hide at WDW, but Jim and I spent half of our day at CC on our Disney cruise talking about looking for a place to hide and miss the ship so we didn't have to go home! :goodvibes They really shouldn't make it so great that you don't want to leave!

Erin - late, but loved the pics

Tessas - I drink my tea strong and black like my coffee. I KWYM about weak watered down stuff or I'm sorry, with milk - then you can't taste the drink. :confused3 I usually drink tea just to relax - coffee is to wake up!

Kara, hope the shampoo works. I have my regular Arbonne shampoo, and Jim uses our tea tree for dandruff. Once I ran out and used his, and my scalp got really oily - weird. I think it was drying my scalp out so it was compensating? :confused3

Has anyone ever read those books where they tell all about Disney behind the scenes? One I can think of was about DL - Mouse Tales - they talk about how they find people like Debbie hiding in the bushes, etc. :rotfl: J/k not really sure if I read about that, but stories like that are in there.

Debbie, I do love your monrail magnet idea. I'll have to look for one for our van. I'm not sure anyone here would think it's funny except for me:goodvibes

Today we took the kids to the carnival, hoping to train Myles to like the rides - he never likes anything he's not completely sure of - so he got in the little Dumbo-like airplanes with his mother - he cried through most of the ride - then she took him on this tiny slow roller coaster - I mean there were one year old babies on it - he screamed and cried the whole time :( So Mark and Lindsay and I took him on an enclosed small ferris wheel together - he sat on Mark's lap hugging his neck and crying through most of the ride. We are in trouble at Disneyland! They said they are taking him again next weekend and making him ride stuff again until he learns it is fun! Anyone else have trouble with toddlers on little rides? Our kids loved everything, but Lindsay started life out fearful and she hovered over Myles so much she made him scared of everything, I think.

You guys DO KNOW you will never look at the bushes the same there anymore. You will be thinking "OH, I bet Debbie would like this one..."

Thanks for humoring me everyone!

Kara I feel so bad about your lice issue. I really would be OUT OF MY MIND!!!! Good luck.

Somehow don't mind the rain and thunder when it's hot out. I think because it reminds me of those Florida storms. Stay safe. Did you see the ex Chicago Cub who was struck and killed by lightening on the beach?

Tammie...I worry about Matthew with stuff because he is a big chicken. We will see!! We have a place called kiddieland and I think we might go to Great America this summer to condition him. Elizabeth still insists on skipping Splash Mountain but thinks she will do ToT. I don't think she realizes what she is getting herself into.

Hiya all - I found you guys (you can run but you can't hide!!):goodvibes.

Debbie - hope you aren't planning to hide in the bushes I sent the girls to have a tinkle in!!!! (Too much soda and a line at the nearest restroom... sorry!)

Kara - sorry to hear about more "little visitors" , our health visitor who goes round the school says the main cause of reinfection apart from families from school who don't bother checking at all (grrrrrr ).... is usually found to be ...... wait for it....... DADDY!!!! *** they cuddle up for stories or mess around together, then don't bother checking their hair....

Back is definitely getting better now - sometimes I have to force myself to remember not to stretch for something, so the pills have helped keep the pain away whilst it is healing.

Kids are back to school today after our half term holiday week.... Seven more weeks till our summer break over here - then 6 weeks off.... can't wait. i love getting out of the routine - it was hard to get back into it this morning...... It is Birthday season for their friends over here right now, so too many parties - DD5 is 6 on 14th July so i need to plan - she wants a little craft party - 6 kids + her and sis, so not too much....
Plan on getting plain party hats/crowns/tiaras and stickers and jewels, then she wants to do crazy balloons (do you have them??) they are balloons you add coloured in cardboard feet to and put stickers of eyes/nose/ mouth/ bow tie etc on - it's become a bit of a family tradition here, so I'm not allowed to forget. Then games will be pin the tail on the donkey and musical statues (lets the sweet quiet little girl that no one notices much win something.... there is always one.....:goodvibes..). I don't know about you lot, but I refuse to do pass the parcel nowadays with the "everyone gets a prize" thing....
Trouble is she wants the house decorated with an HSMusical theme - I'm going to be making tissue cheerleader pompoms for a while........:cheer2:.

Cheers,
Tessa

Good morning Ladies!!!!

Well, I got the Tea Tree Shampoo and Conditioner and got Ally all washed up. I'll do a nit check again once or twice a day now until they're gone..... again! I also have Jeff check out my head - of course now that I know they're back, I'm itching like crazy!

Tessa - sounds like a great bday party! If you need some great favors, check out the Creative DISign board and look for the nuggets thread. She has some cute HSM designs. Plus, someone may be able to make you a HSM invitation too! I had a Hannah Montana invite made for Ally's party (and then we, uh, never had the party!). I don't do the "everyone gets a prize" thing either. Just little party favors of some sort. But I also don't like the sports programs over here where they don't keep score! I think kids need to learn to lose cause guess what? Ya don't always win in life, either!

Last day of school is Wednesday. Now tell me, why would they even have them come to school when they get out at 10:45??? That is a 2 hour day! How frustrating for those parents who have to make after school arrangements on that day. I'm a mean mom though - I just have Ally come home on the bus like normal. I think I need to stay away from her school as much as possible. Did I mention that the school nurse never even sent home the lice letter like she said she would??? Stupid school!

We got a ton of rain yesterday - nothing too severe with the storms, either, just some thunder and lightning. But we needed the rain so bad.

Oh, get this, driving home from the store Saturday afternoon and I had just turned into the neighborhood and so I called home. Ally answered (I just love hearing her little chipmunk voice on the phone!) and told me that she and daddy just watched the space shuttle blast off on TV. So I looked out my car window and sure enough, I could see all the smoke arching up in the sky where it took off! I'm so mad we missed it! I think from our house we might have been able to see the fireball a bit. When we saw it take off last summer from St Augustine, we could just barely make out the outline of the shuttle. But now that I know where it is in relation to our house, we'll be able to watch for it next time. Ding Dong Jeff took her into the front yard to look for it - yeah, it was in the BACK yard! He's not so good with directions!!! :rotfl2:

OK, off to get ready for work. Happy Monday everyone!

Happy Monday everyone (is there really such a thing?)

I had a very relaxing Sunday. Weather was gorgeous; planted a few flowers and spent the rest of the day on my deck getting some sun and listening to some tunes. Girls stayed with Dad until after dinner, so it was nice to not have to worry about that. It supposed to be a glorious, but hot week - going up to 90 by Friday!:scared1: (there goes my plan of trying to keep the AC off until mid-June!)

Our trip is in less than three weeks!   I'm hoping to still get some t-shirts made; need to book my transportation to the airport; and pack a box to ship to the hotel with some snacks. I still can't believe that three weeks from today I'll be waking up in my happy place!:cloud9:

I'll catch up with the posts I missed yesterday and will be back later!

Yea Cammie! :cool1: That means in about 4 weeks we'll get more pictures!!!!!

WOW Kara - thank you !!! Given me loads to work with and lots of ideas too -Cheers!!

Tessa

Good Morning :surfweb:

Busy day here today. Why is it when the warm weather picks up so does the craziness in our lives? :confused3

Badookie has his 1 year visit today and then I have to go to the AAA office and give them $$$ for our trip. I have to go to the Xmas tree shop and get picture frames and then to Bath and Body Works for the BIG sale. Then home for Lunch and Nap and then Tabitha comes over so I can get some major cleaning done. We held Sunday dinner here last night and it is a major pick up after.

Cammie- I cannot believe your trip is so close. :goodvibes Our A/C has been on and off for a month now. I hate being hot. It is set at 72 and will stay that way all summer.

Kara- Any ideas on Disney Horses? My sis is a horseback riding nut. Loves horses and I wanted to make a shirt for her with the Mickey head and a horse I was thinking cinderellas mice to horses? Hmm

How is Ally doing? That poor munchkin. I talked to our Pedi about lice and her suggestion was to wash her clothes in NIX color test the item first. She says it really makes a difference it also wards off Mosqitos (sp?) You can wash her back pack in it too.

Tessa- glad to have you back. DH and I are talking about making a trip to England 2010 staying 4 days and then off to Italy to visit his parents. I will have to hit you up on where to stay etc....

Tina- Where are you?

Laura- How is work going? I hope you find something soon.

Pam- How was your weekend?

Debbie- I ment to mention how creative you are. I wish I could dream up all of those ideas. You are amazing. I wish you could meet us in Nov.

Jillian - I'm on it! I've posted a message to the designers to make a mickey head with a horse on it. Does your sis like any other characters? Also, did you know about this?

Hi Kara.... You are so sweet & helpful!! The stuff looks great and then we all can see it!
I just PMd the girl on the design thread who is helping out the family going in September who lost their son. I saw you there. I cried ALL night over it. I couldn't shake it and it just broke my heart!!!!

The reason they go for a short day (which I agree is dumb) is because they have to go to school for a certain amount of days and even though it is short they can consider it a day of attendance. Does that make sense?

Hi Tessa....How would you like it if I peed where you slept!:rotfl2:
How's your back? Party plans sound great.
Hi Jillian...Yeah...your trip is official. Too bad I can't meet you guys. That is exactly when we went last year!
Hi Cammie.....Glad you relaxed! You deserve it. Our weather will be good too. I love it! I am so excited to put the kids in their summer clothes!! So fun!

At first I thought it might be a spam of some sort...people looking for money (something fishy...I am always so skeptical) but after I read the threads I just felt overwhelming pain in my heart!
I am sending a WDW coloring book and castle jibbitz to them.

Thanks Jillian! I guess this is where I can always count on a little affirmation! God knows I don't get any at home!

Thanks to all of you guys for putting up with my nuttiness!

Busy...busy week for me.
Last days for our park district classes, manicure, pedicure, park picnic, end of the school year on Thursday, my birthday is Wednesday so the fam will have din din, my trip to Florida is Friday.........
Very exciting and stressful!

Oh, I know I couldn't read the pre-trip report - it would kill me! That's why I just volunteered to help with some printing - that's about the extent of my creativity, I let someone else create it and I just print it!

Hi Tessa....How would you like it if I peed where you slept!:rotfl2:

OMG!!! I about peed myself when I read this! :rotfl2:

Anyone have a good stuffed pepper recipe? And even better, a recipe with leeks in it? I found leeks looking really good at the store this weekend so I bought a ton of them (not knowing what I'm going to do with them!). But I fell in love with the creamy leek fondue at Flying Fish 10 years ago!!!! I need that recipe!!! Anyway, I live for www.recipezaar.com and found a couple of stuffed pepper recipes there. I may give it a go. Jeff will flip if I cook again!

Hiya....

Leeks I can help with! Leek and potato soup - yummm hot or cold
leeks,potatoes,stock
Sautee the leeks (fry in a little oil).
Boil everything in stock till potatoes are soft, season, liquidise, eat or freeze - nice with cream swirled in and great big cheesy crouton....

or Leek quiche is good (pastry case, leeks, eggs, cream, cheese - other veg - even your peppers!) , or a kind of shepherd's pie thing - layer meat in sauce, sauteed leeks and mashed potato, top with cheese and bake...... Leeky mash - take left over mash with sauteed leeks mix and fry like a big Spanish omelette. Leeky omelette too...
Can you tell, I love leeks!!! Just for that we're going to have leeky mash with our fish tonight! - sometimes mix cooked orange turnip (swede ... rutabaga??? in too)
