OK, Tessa, help a poor old girl out here! I'm not a cook by trade, I can't just guesstimate amounts. I love the idea of a shepherds pie with leeks! I would love a shepherds pie recipe. But you can't tell me "some of this, a little of that....." I need to know quantities!!! And what is leeky mash? Leeks and mashed potatoes?

I've got the stuffed peppers goin now, so that might make a good side for those, huh?

Back is definitely getting better now - sometimes I have to force myself to remember not to stretch for something, so the pills have helped keep the pain away whilst it is healing.

Trouble is she wants the house decorated with an HSMusical theme - I'm going to be making tissue cheerleader pompoms for a while.........

Tessa i am glad your back is on the mend it is soooo horrid when anything like that happens with your back!!

I did a Party for my DD this year with a HSM theme .... Bought a great little book with party game ideas in it ... A-Z of Hsm etc etc etc let me know if you need any ideas and i'll message you some!!

OK, guys, wanna hear the latest? We just had a horrendous storm - winds over 60mph, hail, "deadly" cloud to ground lightning (as per the NWS!), and so I drive up to the bus stop to get Ally, thinking the bus will be really late (so I brought a book), since they'll probably hold the kids inside until the storm dies down a bit. Nope, bus arrives right on time, Ally is soaked to the bone. She said they told the kids "RUN!" and then sent them out into this awful storm! Now if I had to guess, I'd say she had about a football field (100 yards) to fun, in the storm. Have I mentioned it was storming???? I just called the school and asked, in my snottiest voice, "I need to speak to whoever it was who came up with the brilliant idea to send MY child out to the bus in a severe thunderstorm." Needless to say they sent me to a voice mail! I can only laugh now, but I'm not done. I left my message and demanded a return phone call today. I mean seriously, what the hell were they thinking????? Oh, wait, did I mention that the elementary classes are all housed in portables around the main building, and there is a METAL roof over the walkway that runs along the path to the busses???? I just called Jeff and he said, "well I remember going out in the rain when I was a kid." This isn't rain, this was a big ole storm!!!! Lightning and thunder and bears oh my! Why am I making a joke of this - I'm so mad!!!!!!

That happened here a few years ago. There was a tornado watch then arning and the buses had already just left. Instead of radioing them to come back they let them go. Next day's front page of the newspaper: a picture od a school bus and a tornado in the distance! The school scaught you know what for that. Luckily no one was hurt. Right after that if it's calling for a tornado warning they keep them at school.

Hi everyone!

Had a fun weekend. Went by too fast (as usual). DD had her birthday party at Build A Bear and most of her class showed up. Let's see if I can post a photo or two. I'm pretty rusty. Mine is the one with the pink shirt on in the back. She also had her dance recital this week. She lloked so adorable with her hair done. (Getting her to get her hair done was a miracle in itself)

She almost fell off the stage in this one.

And since I got the hang of it...here's a picture of my youngest shih tzu: Starbucks: (I'm making a card out of it for Father's Day) He looks so funny.

Erin - Great pictures from Disney Paris! Do they do Photopass there? If so, did you get it?

Pam - Cute pix of your DD. Gosh I long for the days of Build-A-Bear parties and dance recitals. They grow up soooo fast. I'm feeling slightly sentimental about this because Lauren finished her last gymnastics class tonite. She's been doing it for 8 years and she just has other interests that are more important. I sat there watching her, with her long legs, doing back flips and wondered where did my little peanut with the underwear hanging out of her gymnastics outfit, who couldn't even do a forward roll, go?

Know what you mean. My other DD is 12 and well...a preteen. Need I say more? My younger will be going to kindergarten in the fall. Weep Weep. They do grow up so fast. 8 is still a good age though!

OK Gang I ONCE AGAIN did nothing this evening so tomorrow morning I am going to forbid myself the computer until I at least get done a good three important things off the list! I get hooked here and can't leave! If I don't get some things done tomorrow we will have trouble by the time I have to leave on Friday!! Yikes!
