Looking for Control Freaks & Worry Warts - Part 4!!!

Hi girls
Before i go and read back can i just say

I HAVE JUST HAD A PI**ER OF A REALISTAION

Because we are staying offsite i can't book all my breakies at once i don't think, grgrgrgr they are spread out over 2 1/2 weeks so i am really fuming right now in case that means that i end up not being able to get them grgrgrgr i have never had a problem before so i am hoping it's the same this time .. but this is the control freak in me coming out!!!!!
As far as i can see it is 90 days to the day you want! So every couple of days for 2 1/2 weeks i am gonna have to phone, surely this can't be right!! I don't think i have had to do this before i am sure i just booked all at once :confused3

Hiya all,

Erin you are right - it is 90 days before EACH one if you stay offsite. Don't know if I missed something, but could you do it online?? Cheaper that way.

As to staying offsite/onsite.... mmmmm we can't afford onsite by any stretch of the imagination.... UK folks tend to go over for longer - 14 days etc.... so we book a villa with pool and go to parks , have rest/shopping days etc.... Also the cooking thing - we "cooked" maybe 3 nights out of 9 last time (pasta, jar of pasta sauce then cheesecake) ....- a couple of meals in the parks, a couple on the 192 and a couple of takeaways. Also you can get your own breakfast in the villa. And nothing could beat floating in a bathwarm pool looking up through the screens at the stars with all your family talking about the fabulous day you had..

I also HATE to share a room with the kids - and booking 2 rooms onsite ...

Tessa

Hahhahaha ok my last post just proves i am a worry wart aswell as a control freak!!
Panic over, of course it will be ok as they are changing it back to 180 aren't they on Oct 27th wooohoo so all will be ok!!!!!

Tessa .. Can't do them online there are too many of us for that, parties over 10 can't book online and there are 18 of us! Also i get free calls to the U.S because of my broadband package so cost not a prob it was the thought of phoning every few days for 17 days hahahahhaha

Me again hahha
I have also just seen that Crystal Palace is shut until the 13th Feb .. We were aiming to book for the 14th do you think that'll happen?? Also as we will then be in MK that day and i have just realised it's Valentines day, do they do anything for that???

Cammie I agree 100 percent so it's a done deal we are staying onsite I will add dining later on if I want to and I think it's going to be AKL or WL. I am going to show Luca tonight and let him decide.

Tessa- For us the cost is almost the same Luca is still small enough that sharing a room is ok for now, but If I were you I agree it would be a villa for me all the way.

Well I cleaned the kitchen made sugar cookie dough and folded some laundry now it's time for lunch and then more laundry. I actually broke down and ordered lunch today since I was not about to clean the kitchen again.

Thanks for all the good wishes, you all lift my spirits on here, I never found a thread that felt so homely and just "right".:grouphug:

Ditto! I had to laugh at your babysitter story! We are turning into our parents. How scary is that!?:scared1:

Yeah, but at least you have a husband. ;)

Would you like mine? Some days I would pay you to take him!;) I feel for you on the Lauren/boy thing. You need to chaperone those dances, girl! I laughed out loud at my desk about the Holy Ghost comment. That's funny. I mean, it's not funny, and you better lock her up!

Still don't have my crap together, but I did want to say hi tonight. I'm adjusting to school, but I seriously don't know why all of a sudden I'm about 10 hours short on time each day!

Who ever has their crap together, except for Kara....:lmao: Seriously - I don't feel like I ever do. Too much to do, too little time. At least you have your ADRs!!

I also HATE to share a room with the kids - and booking 2 rooms onsite ...

You do, do you? :rotfl:I've even had my sister in the room with us. Now that was a little awkward, and we had to work around some stuff, but with the kids, I am OK. This time, I am bringing a shower rod and curtain to close off the vanity area so Darrin doesn't have to throw on his boxers in the steamy bathroom. I am going to surprise him!

Jillian - I would rather stay on-site for many reasons, #1 being that I do not want to cook while on vacation, not even make sandwiches, but I do see why people do it, esp w/larger groups of people, and/or are there for many days, like Tessa mentioned, and if you don't choose to spend your money on meals in the parks/resorts. Just like the fact that we have chosen not to buy soft drinks and tea at any of the meals we eat at restaurants. We drink water w/lemon. It has saved us a lot of money. We are doing DDP for the first time this trip.

Hi Erin - I don't know WDW's history on that type of stuff, but I would think that there would be a bigger chance of CP opening earlier than their anticipated opening date. At least that's the way it should be! I don't know about Valentine's Day festivities.

BabyB - Use the WDW ones!

Well I cleaned the kitchen made sugar cookie dough and folded some laundry now it's time for lunch and then more laundry. I actually broke down and ordered lunch today since I was not about to clean the kitchen again.

Ha! That sounds like something I would do!

I cooked all day yesterday - crock pot sausage bean soup, pork roast w/carrots & potatoes, lasagne (frozen, of course), and skillet hamburgers, so I don't have to cook this week! I also did all of the laundry, but some folded stuff still needs to be put up. Part of my decor is clean laundry on the living room couch and coffee table!:lmao:

I like the disney ones better anyways even though the trip is to DC. SO anyone got knowlage on how to pack a puntcure wound to a wall? My love seat decided to peirce my wall today when it was walking so nicley (YEA RIGHT) out of my guest room. Next I have to move the big heap of stuff in front of the patio door. I also have to switch the crap in the closet and pull the bike and boards around.

I think I am going to start doing the same thing. I am sick of trying to figure out dinner especially after working a 12 hour shift. Pork roast sounds like a good idea and I can get 2 meals out of it.

I will NOT cook on vacation I agree the most we cook is adding milk to cereal and that is only so we can get out of the room early. ;)

Erin I agree I would say it would be open just have an alternate in mind.

Ok girls now for my next trauma

Grgrgrgrggrgrgrgrggrgrgrg

I just phoned T-Rex to book Chloe's b'day dinner and there will be 21 of us for that ... Now obv i understand we won't have 1 table hahaha but she said they can't guarantee that we'll even be near each other .. that we will probably need 2 or 3 large tables and she can't guarantee that they'll be near each other .. What the hell am i supposed to do, it's Chloe's b'day i can't have half of us on 1 side of the restaurant and the other half on the other side grgrgrgrggrgr
What do i do?????? Man alive i am slowly losing the plot tonight

Hey gals!!!! I've been a bit MIA lately too. Just want to pop in and say "whassup!!!!!"

Cammie - it's obvious you're back - looks like about 3 pages since I was on last! :rotfl2:
Lorrie - stop flying by and stay awhile!!! We miss you!!!!
Pam - did you get the paintings? Do you like them?
Jillian - for sure this time? I really hope you get things squared away so this trip will happen!!!! We loved AKL even though it's far from everything. Really, in the whole big picture, it's maybe 5 minutes further. And because you don't share a bus with any other parks, it's a heck of a lot quicker than some!!! I know at Dolphin, YC, BC, and BW they all share a bus so it took us 45 minutes to get back from MK one night!!!! As for WL, I'll know after December!
Erin - I think it totally depends on the CM you get when you call. You sound like a fun, happy gal, so I'll bet they'll let you make your ADRs no matter what the rule is. As for online (and I know you can't do this), it's only for 90 days out from THAT DAY.
Tessa - the language barrier still cracks me up! And it totally makes sense for me why you stay off site. Never thought about the length of time you're here, and that <gasp!> there might be other things you want to do other than Disney! :rotfl2:
Tammie - how long you in Idaho/Montana/Wyoming? My brain is fried but from where I sit I'm thinking they're all about the same? :confused3
Debbie - come out come out wherever you are??????

OK, so for girls night out - we all met at the clubhouse, and had a drink. And then got a traveller to take in the car. Actually it was a big 15 passenger van. Our driver took us downtown to the Landing - it's a big outdoor area right on the river, with restaurants, bars, shopping, etc.

So we went to a Mexican place for dinner and sat outside by the water. So nice! There were 9 of us altogether, so when we left dinner we had to be careful not to get separated. There was a big concert going on and we had to basically swim upstream to get through there to get the bar we were headed for. So all 9 of us held hands and walked in chain formation. I felt like a kindergartener on a field trip to the museum..... :rotfl2:

At one point, some guy yells, "outta the way, COUGARS coming through!" I swear!!!!! :rotfl2:

That was probably the funniest part of the night - we were referred to a couple of times as cougars...... One gal in our group was told, "man, you're OLD, but you're still hot!"

It was a fun time and nobody got crazy. We called our driver about 12:30 to come and pick us up and we were home by around 1:15 or so. Fun group of gals so hopefully we'll all do it again some time.

Hey everyone....just stopping in. No baby yet, but NEXT WEEK (Wednesday to be specific) is the scheduled c-section day. I'm excited and scared poo-less at the same time. I'll be SO happy to be done being pregnant, but I have no idea how I'm going to handle 2 little ones! DS will be 2 on 10/13, DD will be born 10/14. :scared1:

We are SO not ready for her either. When I was preggo with DS we had everything good to go weeks before he arrived, with this one, the carseat is still in the basement, and the bassinet isn't even set up yet.

So - the get in free on your birthday promo carried over for 2010, without the gift card option? That's kind of stinky. :( But now DH is saying October is too soon to take DD, since she'll only be 1. The last time we went, DS was 15 months, and according to him that 3 months made all the difference. My only problem is he won't be free if we go after October. DH doesn't seem to mind?!

But now that they have already announced the 4/3 deal again, I'm wondering if that will happen for January 2011 as well? Do you think that's a better deal than free dining (typically in October)?? I don't know!! I'm obsessing over this, when I should be obsessing over having a baby soon. :lmao:

Shelly - good luck with your delivery - you must look gorgeous right now and ready to kill your husband! I think you'll do great with baby #2 - it's tough the first few months 'sharing' your attention, but it gets easier! How exciting!

Kara - sounds like you're having so much fun at that clubhouse with your new friends. How can your DH even think about moving when you're having so much fun?!?!

Erin - sounds like you'll need a whole room for your group. Have fun!

Jillian & Pam - I hear you about not wanting to cook. DH, who usually does all the cooking, doesn't come home until 7pm now so I have to cook. I HATE IT!! I'd live on pasta and hamburgers on the grill if I had to. I have to make dinner tonight after D10's girl scout meeting and I don't have a clue. Plus no take out allowed!:headache:

Jillian - if we get a vote in here I'd say WL because it's so close to MK. I liked AKL and wished we got to walk around the savannah area more, but it was so big.

Cammie - I totally hear you about staying onsite. Last year we stayed off site at a timeshare my BF had and I hated it. There was no 'Disney' experience that extended to your room. Where was the themed stairs? Plus we had to DRIVE OURSELVES to the park and then pay $11/day- NO THANK YOU! I'll take a bus, monorail or boat anytime and I don't care if I have to stand near a stinky guy in the dark after a rainstorm to do it either!

Ok DD7 is done pouting over her homework and now we have to go get DD10 at the park after her GS meeting. Hope everyone is having a great Monday

hideho! Rain here and crazy kids. I'm out touch so I will just say hi. Starting first reconciliation stuff this week. My baby can't be that old!

Jillian - it kills me that Lauren is in 8th grade. This boy she danced with may now be asking her out - whatever that means. She told me she will text me as soon as school was dismissed today to let me know. But she is walking on air over the possibility. Which concerns me a bit. I don't like my daughter liking a boy THAT much. ;)

Here's one to freak out a bit. I met Tim in Jr High and we started dating in High School have been dating ever since.

I have to do you all a favor and point you in the direction of the best sweatpants ever (while we are on the topic of being old). One night while we were in Epcot, we got caught in a torrential downpour. With the A/C in the monorail on the way back to the resort, I caught a fierce chill. Since it was an *ahem* romantic weekend, I did not bring pajamas. I had to get something warm to wear so I sucked it up and went to the gift shop in the Contemporary and bought a freaking forty dollar pair of sweatpants. But they are seriously awesome. They are black and say "love" down one leg and th "o" in love is a mickey head with a peace sign in it. Somewhat juvenile but so what?! They are heaven on my legs and bum!

Hiya all,

Pam, Tammie - in that case I am SOOOOOOO middle aged tooo!
Last "date" night - our 10th anniversary - we went out to eat and afterwards had to go for a drive for a half hour to stop us being embarrassingly early for the babysitter!! As it was we got home just after 10, used to be we could be out til 3, get home and drink/chat til dawn..... now it's cocoa at 9 with "House" on tv. saaaaaadddd....

Thanks for all the good wishes, you all lift my spirits on here, I never found a thread that felt so homely and just "right".

Tessa

That babysitter story is so cute! We have done the same in the past!:lmao:

Oh and I forgot to mention girls..................Lauren had her first school dance on Friday night. Their first as cool 8th graders.

She danced with the boy she's crushing on.

A slow dance.

And she told me, no - they didn't leave room for the "Holy Ghost".

This gives me a stomachache.

No! NOT our Lauren!:scared1: Nice to have you back, Cammie! We missed you!

So Im currious, Were going to washigtion dc. Im making travel journals off the mouse for less. On there adult page they have some pages for other destinations which I was going to use, BUt I also like the disney ones. What should I use?

I'm not sure what the pages look like - could you post a link? I would probably do something different for a DC journal than Disney :confused3

Hey girls!

Still don't have my crap together, but I did want to say hi tonight. I'm adjusting to school, but I seriously don't know why all of a sudden I'm about 10 hours short on time each day!

It seems like my to-do list is out of control! SO MUCH SO that I haven't even really done much planning for the trip, but of course I got our ADRs done.

I haven't caught up, but hope all is well.

Miss you guys!

Lorrie! Nice to hear from you, even if you don't have your crap together!:goodvibes Okay girlfriend, what can you take off your plate? Can you say NO to anything?

Had a great weekend up north...we all spent the night at my FILs cottage at Lake Winnesquam. I did some damage at the outlets (new Coach bag and Skecher Shape Ups!) and had some quality fmaily time with Dh and kids. It was nice. We are planning to go up again next weekend, while the foliage peaks. I love New England!

I am designing some Mickey head paper countdown chains-you ladies will have to let me know what you think.

Sounds really nice! Where is your countdown? Sounds nice!

Cammie- I think I would love a Saturday night alone LOL. That sounds so nice a bottle of wine to myself the clicker and being able to fall asleep when I want. Glad Lauren had a great time at her dance she is getting so grown up. How's Miss Amanda? How are you? The weather here is getting a bit crazy. We are going apple picking Sunday and then to the topsfield fair.

Pam- If Luca is in bed at 7:30 count me in. I love my sleep and would love to sleep past 7am. So are you calling me old just kidding. Yea on the the pins maybe I will have to do that so Monkey can have a good selection to trade.

Tammie- How are things going? How was the spa party? can you come live by me I will have spa parties all the time

Well girls the plans keep changing..... I need help planning this trip

So we are going at peak season which is OK because we have the 4/7 deal but we are thinking of going without the dining plan this year. It just doesn't seem like it will be worth it. I will have to plan things out a bit better, but who knows.
Now my sister is going and my SIL has invited herself but she's still not sure. I never mind my sister aka monkey she is such a big help and she really appreciates it.

So here is the issue stay ON property or OFF? I was thinking one of those houses would be nice with the private pool so the kids can come home and relax? Then I would be cooking so

Part of my decor is clean laundry on the living room couch and coffee table!

Jillian - don't think I could take the weather, but I'd love to come and do a spa for you! :goodvibes I love the laundry comment!:thumbsup2 I always say I decorated in the "laundry staging" style! Sounds like you have all your cooking done. Come on out here and cook for me, and I'll pamper your toes!

Oh! Spackle and netting and paint from Walmart! Been there, done that with the boys!;)

Ok girls now for my next trauma

Oh! That is a CFWW nightmare! So frustrating. Do they have a party area? Maybe schedule it for the moment they open and then everyone mob them at once!

Hey gals!!!! I've been a bit MIA lately too. Just want to pop in and say "whassup!!!!!"

Oh, Miss Cougar! We' ve missed you! Sounds like you had a great time! And Yes, I think Idaho, Wyoming, MT are about the same. :goodvibes We decided not to go to Yellowstone this weekend as it was storming, but our adventures are to come - have to download some pics!

Good luck with the baby - Prayers and PD to you! Keep us posted!

hideho! Rain here and crazy kids. I'm out touch so I will just say hi. Starting first reconciliation stuff this week. My baby can't be that old!

What? I get the HideyHo, and the rain, but reconciliation? Is that like first confession?:confused3

Here's one to freak out a bit. I met Tim in Jr High and we started dating in High School have been dating ever since.

Same for our best friends! Baby at 18! :scared1: But it's all good now.

Laura - :scared1:

*heads out to the liquor store*

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Everyone is different.

Tina - hope the homework went well!

We had a really fun adventure yesterday - four wheelin' over the mountain in our van without knowing we would be and riding an Octoberfest train:thumbsup2 Today we went to breakfast at Goldy's the "soup nazi" of breakfast, went to the Disney store to pick up Snow White, which we had been told we could get on the 3rd with an early order (NOT) and shopped around the mall and Burlington Coat Factory. I'm heading back to the mall tomorrow.

Tonight, we went out to a Hawaiin BBQ place (YUMMY) with a couple of the guys and then they came back and we had Blue Moon Ale with orange slices (curious taste) while the boys watched the game - they left early, so I guess I'll have to finish watching it with Jim. :happytv: I'll post my pics tomorrow!
