Looking for Control Freaks & Worry Warts - Part 4!!!

Tammie - How fun! I had to read your LV TR! How long are you in Boise? How is your knee doing? We got a Golden Nugget flyer in the mail yesterday, and it got Darrin very excited about our May trip. He said that we will renew our wedding vows for our 20th anniv and ask some of our friends and his parents to go with us. I didn't realize that was in the plan, but I am on board! I want an Elvis impersonator to "marry" us!


No healthy lunch for me. My sis has a Ben & Jerry's gift cert, and she is going to share it w/me. We are going to eat ice cream for lunch. I am so ashamed. (not really - I skipped breakfast so I could do that!)

New to this but saw the thread and as I've been planning our first family WDW trip I realize (as if I already didn't know) I am definately a control freak and a big worry wart! Since you all have obviously been there, i'll list my worries and maybe someone could calm my fears a bit. We leave Sunday for a 5 night trip mostly to MK.
Worry #1 is the biggest, this trip is mainly about our 5 and 7 year old boys who we have been waiting and waiting to take on their first Disney trip. Then...they're little sister arrived in November So now its like oh boy we're taking our 10 month old too. Will she sleep in a different place? (Never has) Will she nap in the stroller (hasn't since she was 5 months old) will it screw her up if we want to watch fireworks one night?
We are staying at a 1 bedroom Wilderness Lodge Villa. Boys on the couch/bed and she will be in the room with us, how is that gonna work?

Worry #2 I procrastinated/wasn't aware you had to make ADR SO EARLY so there are days we don't have reservations. I would love to do Chef Mickeys but are we totally SOL b/c we don't have ADR?

Welcome!!!! First let me address worry#2 - yes, you are probably SOL for Chef Mickeys, HOWEVER check into Garden Grove at the Dolphin (or Swan, can't remember) - they have a character meal that people don't know about. It is usally only two characters, subject to change, but if its characters you want, you can probably still get in here. I would check with concierge at Wilderness Lodge - they can probably help you out. OR, give WDW a call right now and see what they can do!

As for worry# 1, all you can do is give it a go. She will probably sleep just fine - remember, even though she's so young, her senses will be in oveload too, and she'll probably sleep better than you ever imagined!

Finally, don't WORRY, just have fun!

My leg is perfectly fine now - I took a leg vein supplement and baby aspirin and it's good - I know, I know - I need to see a doctor, but I was on vacation - and I'm good now! I'll be in Boise until the end of Oct - Jim will be here until some time in Nov. I'm going home for a retreat at the beach.

Oh! Renewing your vows? How sweet! Elvis? Sounds like a great time! There are alot of good deals on hotels out there.

As for ice cream - life is short - eat dessert first!

everyone is better now. The fever broke and her temperment has come back in line. I'm hearing that if you get sick that it is pretty much the swine flu. I know that it is good that she gets sick now and not when she is in school but it still is tough, Glad that I am home with them.

They have some space available within the park area - some they recouped because they made a parking garage and took some of the parking lot - and they moved some things around and replacing some things- they are also making a Little Mermaid ride - probably like the one they're putting in at MK.

Welcome! Kara gave you some great advice! Take a deep breath and have fun! Just know that with little ones, things won't always go how you've been expecting, and you need to take time out for rest if they get overwhelmed!

Hi girls just stopping by to say hello to my favorite Diser's. I should be on here alot more I just cut down at work so I will only be working Wed and Saturdays. We are going to Disney and I will be booking our trip next week. We have also decided to stop at Universal first and stay around there then move on to WDW.

Kara- Just a quick question. Did you like Coronado Springs? I can't decided between there or POR. We are making this trip 9 days. So we will be there and then since Monkey isn't going we will be hanging at the hotel alot for some much needed R&R. Just wondering which you think is better.

Well baby stuff is moving along. They are sending me to a reproductive endocrinologist and found out that I have an adenoma on my parathyroid. I am feeling well and AF has stopped for a whole week. AMAZING
I want to thank all of you for your support and tell you that you are the most amazing friends I have never met - Well besides Kara.

I'm glad it's friday .. what a busy week .. Painted 2 days .. Market 2 days and another one tomorrow!! However i put more money in my Disney pot today and that can only be a good thing right ??

Tammie .. The "tat" thing made me laugh .. I have a tat and always call it that also i have tat in my house too hahahhahahhahahahha .. I do so love our language differences

Jillian, I've missed you! Please tell me you are having the adenoma removed! They can sometimes turn malignant - and with being in a hormone driven organ, probably even more risky. I'm glad you are taking more days off - and DISNEY? I'm so jealous! You'll probably get to see Kara again!

Welcome, Phoebesmommy! I've never traveled far w/an infant, so I don't know the answers to your questions, but I would think that if they are tired enough, they will sleep! Mine were sleepers, always able to sleep on the go, so we were really lucky that way. I bet all will be fine, but I can relate to worrying about it.

flyingbabyb - You must post a pic of your Disney tattoo if you get one (if you can)! That is very cool! A Disney one would be fun! Disney IS in our blood!

Lorrie - I don't think I'll ever feel like I have it all together. Get some rest, and take care of yourself. The house can wait!

Jillian - Yeah! about the Disney trip! Without Badookie? I'm jealous. We have fun w/our kids, but a no-kids trip would be so lovely! Ditto on the friends comment. Our weather has been wet, but cooler, although a bit humid, but nice, IMO. I can't stand the heat. Glad you are feeling better!

Lydia - Speaking of no-kids trips! Are you totally packed?? My bags would be waiting at the door. They usually aren't, but a no-kids trip.... I will check out your etsy page again, now that I am totally into it. I've gotten so much Christmas shopping done, and plan on doing more there.

Laura - How did the PTO meeting go? Uggh about the Roseola. Is it all 4 of you, or just the kids? We got a VM from the high school, and stuff has been coming home like crazy about the flu from both schools. I am bringing my hand sanitizer in my pocket to the dance tonight. I am selling snacks, and it's a breeding ground for germs....I've turned into such a germaphobe the past few years.

Hi everyone, and Happy Weekend!!! We are splitting up tonight for football game/MS dance, have to shop for my sis' bday gift tomorrow AM, then have band practice/parent night (rumor has it we have to march on the field) tomorrow night, and Sept bday celebration at my mom's Sunday after the kids are at Sunday School/confirmation class. Wish it were a 3-day weekend!

Jillian - I'd have to say we liked Riverside better then Coronado springs. CS is huge you have to work forever to get to the food court and I felt their pool was boring. Riverside has that nice bayou area and there's fishing and bike rentals.


So I've become totally emersed in this American Girl thing! I'm crazy! Just this week we've decoupaged a plastic 3 drawer box for a bureau, made a frame out of craft sticks for Coconut, 2 slips, 1 Christmas skirt, spray painted box tops for the beds, a window shape out of craaft sticks and then we're going to take a picture of our back yard and photoshop it so it will fit into the window, and made a backyard sitting area. I still need to cover Samanta's mattress, make 2 pillows, another Chrismas skirt, a coat for Samantha, an apron, a Halloween skirt and an ice skating outfit. I'm searching everywhere to find minature things for DD10 to play with for her doll. We picked up a pumpkin at Walmart, Michaels had christmas presents, candycanes and a Halloween sign, Big Lot had a Dr Pepper and Hawiann punch lip glosses in a can. I think my head is going to explode with all the ideas I have in it.

Am I going crazy?

Hi guys! Wanted to say a quick hello. I know I haven't been on in awhile but I miss you all.

Amanda started school last week, so I spent most days down at BC getting her settled. The rest of my days have been spent doing the things I couldn't do while she was home with me all August: van service; eye doctor; gym; Lauren's open house.

Lauren and I are continually battling for the computer these days. I'll be dropping hints to her dad to get her own laptop for Christmas!

I hope to catch up with all I've missing this weekend. Hope everyone is well!

I personally liked CSR better. POR was boring to me. But I've stayed at CSR 3 times now, and always stayed near the front, so the size of the place was never an issue for me. And I think they have the best bus service. The stops are at the front at each park except for one (can't remember which) which is really nice at the end of the day!

Wait, "most amazing friends..... besides Kara?" What's up with that!!!!

I've gotten totally immersed in this whole cruise thing now. I've been printing out door magnets already - and it's 5 months away!!!! Getting really excited - it's like it just hit me!!!

And the whole Harry Potter thing at US is getting me excited too. I know, I've cheatin on the mouse, but I love Harry Potter!
