Looking for Control Freaks & Worry Warts - Part 4!!!

Hiya all,

thanks for the advice on the friends moving away thing, I knew I'd get some reassurance here.... Not just - as my dear departed dad would have said "Cr** happens, get on with it!!" He was soooooo sensitive - NOT!! Though I must admit it is advice I have followed many times and it works...

Anyhow, another pound lost :woohoo:

AND serious planning is now underway for Florida Oct 2010!!:woohoo::woohoo::yay::yay: No date yet as have not booked, but SOON, SOON, SOON will be going to the travel agent and booking it. Not just Disney and Universal this time though, we want to go to Kennedy and the beaches (look at the Atlantic from the other side!!) Hubby is also desperate for an airboat ride - so any advice welcome on that one...

Now, we were looking at ticket prices for Disney pre purchase over here - a COMPLETE RIP_OFF ladies...... to pre pay via an agent we would have to fork out $430 for the UK "exclusive" ultimate ticket - 14 days any park, hopper added, inc water parks/world of sports and DisneyQuest - we only want to go to the parks once - and this time we will drop AK and maybe Studios too - So basically a 4 or 5 day with water park and maybe hopper - can anyone price it for me?? Our site for Disney seems to insist on throwing me onto the UK tickets only at the minute...

Thanks..

Tessa

I guess I didn't download any trip pics from July except these of the kids:

Okay, I'll start my TR tomorrow - have a Happy Wednesday everyone!

Tammie! I love them!!! The ITSC picture is hysterical!!!:rotfl2:

Hi, Everyone! I WILL get caught up tonight. I just barely skimmed thru...

I was off yesterday, and at the hospital w/my sis, who had surgery. She had about 12 growths removed, none cancerous. I was there all day, then came home, grabbed Darrin & the girls, and went back up there to see her for a few minutes, litrally a few minutes, to get back home to beat the bad storms we were supposed to get, but didn't. It sure looked like we were! I will stop by on my way home from work and wait until traffic dies down (and Darrin has made dinner, hee, hee!) before I go home. It's far from home, closer to work, but a smooth drive down the tollway when there's no traffic. She gave us a good scare...

I WILL get on the computer tonight, after the girls, then Darrin. I think it will be a coffee night!

Lydia - HAVE FUN!!!!!!!

TTYL!:grouphug:

Tessa - I'm showing a 5 day park hopper is $227 for adults, but a 7 day hopper is $245. I'd do a 7 day so you can maybe just head into the park for dinner or something one day, even if you weren't planning on it. It would just be nice, for only $18 more for 2 extra days.

Adding the water parks takes it to $253 for 5 days with park hopper, and $271 for 7 days.

No hopper or water parks is $201 for 5 days and $219 for 7 days.

Hope this helps!!!!

So, I've started a new diet - it's the Cleveland Clinic 3 day diet. A friend did this and lost 20 lbs in about 10 weeks. You eat very little for 3 days (about 700 cals) then for 4 days you eat normally. Eat out, whatever. Don't stuff yourself, but literally eat whatever you want. I guess it works for dropping a quick couple of pounds in one week, or you can do it weekly for as long as you need. So, we'll see........Yesteray I had black coffee for breakfast, with a banana, and 1 piece of peanut butter toast. Lunch was 1/2 cup of tuna, 1 slice toast, and water. Dinner was 2 beef hot dogs, 1/2 c carrots, 1 banana, 1 c broccoli, 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream.

Today is 1 hard boiled egg for breakfast, 1 banana. Lunch is 1 hard boiled egg, 1 slice toast, water. dinner is 3 oz lean meat, 1 cup green beans, 1 cup carrots, 1 cup vanilla ice cream.

I guess you can eat those items whenever, so I try to space them out. Yesterday I was STARVING though!!! So maybe spreading them out will be better today. I was hoping to drop about 3 lbs this week just to fit into some shorts for this weekend!!!!

Getting my flu shot today, Ally got the nasal mist yesterday. She was very happy not to get a shot!!!

Then getting my hair cut and highlighted tonight. I love getting my hair done!

Sorry girls i haven't read everything but had to drop this in ..
Tessa have you tried the internet sites for tickets?? I always get mine on those, maple leaf is good and very dependable and pretty much the cheapest online .. We tend to do 5 or 6 disney days and they have offers on for 4 and 1 free, we get the flexiticket, US, IOA, SW, AQ and WnW unlimited for 14 days, i highly reccommend the Space Centre we loved it last yr and we are doing it next feb too ooh and Boggy creek is great for airboat ride , again i got all tickets off maple leaf! Hope thats useful, i have found other sites let me know and i can message you with those too!

Tessa - one more thing - since you don't have your dates set yet, go to the Kennedy Space Center website or NASA website and check for any shuttle launches around the time you're thinking of being here. Truly one of the most incredible things I have EVER seen!!!! And we were 100 miles north! I want to drive down to Canaveral to see one from up close......

Tina - We are huge fans of AG, too. I think I've said it, but I enjoy going to the store more than the girls do! How did your stuff turn out? Is it to put away for Christmas? You are so creative.

Cammie - I have been in battles w/my family lately over the computer. Megan's laptop got a virus, and we are just hesitant about getting another. Darrin is wishing for a mini laptop, mostly for internet, for Christmas, so when he gets that, it will be better.

Debbie - How was the wedding shower? When is the wedding? I like your idea on GS. I was co-leader w/a lady for Megan's troop for years that was SO strict. The girls were afraid of her! (So was I! Just kidding.) It took some of the fun away. She was strictly by the book, and not tolerant at all. She was a good person, but would have been better served in the military. Good for you!

Tessa - I am now straight on tats, and have to say that I have way too much of that in my house. Great on the pounds and the vacation plans! Happy Anniversary! Ha, ha on the beans! I can't offer advice on the moving friends, but I moved very often as a child and didn't stay connected to friends, as snail mail and long distance calls were our only options. Today, with no long distance charges (we don't have them on our home phone plan), internet (mySpace, Facebook, email), cell phones and texting, I would think that it would be very easy for the kids to keep in touch if they want to. My girls have been in the same house since they were born, and haven't had close friends move away.

Laura - It's too hot here, too! It did cool off a little again, but it's so humid. It is going to get into the high 80's at the end of the week. I am more than ready for cool fall weather. Ha, ha on your hubby! I have a clock that never gets changed w/the time changes (it's right 1/2 the year), a couple of ceiling fans that need to be replaced, the list goes on...Like my kids, I pick my battles. And, there's only so much that I can and am willing to do. I should hire someone to repace the fans. I keep threatening...

Erin - I have a cute little blue flower on the top of one foot, a Scrabble square w/a G on it (in honor of my grandma) on the top of the other foot, an iris on my left shoulder, and a butterfly on my lower back. They are all ones that can be hidden when I want them to be.

Lorrie - Take care of your blood pressure!! OMG. Your family needs you.

BabyB - That's great about the kitty! I'd love a cat. Hubby isn't a cat person though...Good for you on the saving! I am trying to do that exact thing. The pennies will add up quick! That's neat about having your old blankie!

Tammie - I do need to go back and read your last TR page. You are great at that! What great adventures have you been on since your rafting trip? Retirement sounds nice...

Hi, Ellen! You can stay and visit w/us!

Lydia - Are you gone yet??

Are there ever any deals on Annual passes?

I see that you are not. Just wanted to make sure I got my wishes of pixie dust to you before you left.

I believe I read that there are not specials on APs, except for DVC members. But, we'll let the experts answer....

Are there ever any deals on Annual passes?

They ran a special where you paid for 12 months but actually got the pass for 15 months. Of course that special ran about 2 weeks after I renewed mine!!! :headache:

Kara - I was getting you for being naughty to Ellen! JK. Really - you were on my handwritten notes, but I left you off of my typed note! I realized it when I started ripping it up to throw it in the trash. I didn't know about Dallas National. I had to Google it, and I see it is an exclusive golf place. Good for Jeff on being chased, but sorry for you about the thought of moving. It really sounds like you live in such a neat neighborhood!

Jillian - I'd have to say we liked Riverside better then Coronado springs. CS is huge you have to work forever to get to the food court and I felt their pool was boring. Riverside has that nice bayou area and there's fishing and bike rentals.[/quote]
Luca is going with us but my sister (monkey) is not going. I am thinking I am just going to get a king bed and I like the looks of the inside of CSR but the hike to the food court area maybe a problem. POR looks a little bit more appealing? Thank you for your advice it really helps.

I personally liked CSR better. POR was boring to me. But I've stayed at CSR 3 times now, and always stayed near the front, so the size of the place was never an issue for me. And I think they have the best bus service. The stops are at the front at each park except for one (can't remember which) which is really nice at the end of the day!

Wait, "most amazing friends..... besides Kara?" What's up with that!!!! :rotfl2:

You are just too funny and a brat to boot. Debbie was correct and you are the only disbuddy I have met. Logging on to your trip report right after this. I also am going to start planning this week. 5 months out and I feel like I have a ton to do in very little time. I don't even have dining options down yet.

DITTO!

Kara...Jillian just meant you were the only greatest friend that she's met!:rotfl2:
Thank you Debbie. I say go for MNSSHP POP will probably be good if you are just staying for a night or two. Also we stayed at Holiday Maingate east for $55/night for our 1st night in Florida because our flight was getting in so late.

Lydia- Have a blast enjoy every minute of it.

Tammie- Your trip sounds so busy. I cannot take vicodin because it makes me hallucinate and not in a good way. Those grandbabies are so darn cute!

Tessa- Try UCT for your tickets I hear they are a good deal :confused3 We always by a package so I don't know. Tickets are getting very pricey.

So I think we are going to stay at POR just because I have my heart set on it. We will do the dining plan again and we are going to be visiting Universal studios for just a day. Driving and hoping for some nice weather in Feb :thumbsup2

OK, need y'all's help.

I overbooked ADRs for December. Here's the deal.

Friday - MVMCP, we are NOT going, but MK closes early that night - so we are going to DHS to see the lights. Right now I have 3 ADRs for this day - 1:55pm at Brown Derby (we actually prefer our big meal in the middle of the day), 50's Prime Time at 4pm, or The Yachtsman at 8:15. We are staying at WL so Yachtsman might be a pain in the butt to get back to. Jeff is not thrilled with 50's PT, but we've never eaten at any of these, so they would all be new to us.

Then we got CRT on Saturday for an early dinner at 4:15. That is great because we want to see MK all lit up on Saturday.

Kara- We really loved Yachtsman the food that is, but 50's is a good time with nice home cooking. I don't love Brown Derby just me I'm not sure why. Yachtsman is very formal in Disney standards I even think fancier than Cali grille not sure why just felt that way.
This place even asked Mike to remove his hat ( he forgot he had it on) and mentioned I had flip flops on I had to explain to the woman at the podium that I was 7 months pregnant and my feet were swollen and I couldn't get my dress shoes on. They were black flops that were more like sandals. I had to speak with a manager etc... After check in though service was incredible and the meal was amazing.

ttessa- Ever been to kenedy? Is it worth it? MY mom cant wait to go there but I wanna make sure the kids arnt bored.
loving- I love the cats. If they would sleep though the night I might be happier but theres nothing like a tiny little MEW when you walk in the front door (then it tries to dart out).
tina- Ag fan here too but from a poor family. I never had a AG doll but my grandma used to let me play with her beautiful porcline dolls. I still make things for then (and now Im a adult with no kids to share them with :( Anyone know any good single men

POR- whats that? port Orleans? Whats the cheapest and best place to stay with a family of 5? ALso whats a good place to eat, my sisters are 9 and 11 (when we go). I know rainforest cafe is on the list (is there two? Just wondering), The hard rock cafe, and mc donalds (so I can say Ive eaten at them in 6 states). Does Rainforest cafe require a reservation? Is there anyplace I can get muffins or donuts or somthing like that for a birthday (dietary issues prevent us from being a cake family). Also did you get refillable mugs? Are they really worth it? Is it a PITA to go run and get them filled?

Tammie! I love them!!! The ITSC picture is hysterical!!!:rotfl2:

Thanks, Ellen! She is a character!

OMG! Everyone hide! Ellen has found us here!!!! :rotfl2:

I invited her - she has sexy boots:goodvibes

We loved HBD - it had upscale food, but you could be casual. I would say since you're at DHS, I would cancel the Yachtsman because it sounds like you'd have to go back early to get ready. I'd move 50's PT to 7pm or something and then you could go to the lights while you're there. I'm not much for wasting alot of travel time. You could just do MK in the am if you wanted to, and then head over to DHS for your late lunch.

I know this is going to sound terrible on a DISNEY site, but if you're going to have a car, there are some great 3 bdrm houses very reasonable a couple of miles away - they have pools and kitchens - Punkin413 stayed there and shared the pics - $109 a night!

Here's the link to the homes: http://www.amazingdisneyhomes.com/

Here's her PTR - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1981033

If you're staying on site, you might want to get 2 value rooms - alot of kids really like the Pop or All Star areas - fun food courts and pools. If you can do it, I think the mods have more fun pools, but you'll probably still have to get 2 rooms. I don't think they have suites.

Yes, There are two Rainforests - one is at DTD, and the other is at AK. You do pretty much need a ressie, especially at DTD unless you want to 2wait 2 hrs for a table sometimes.
DTD: 407-827-8500 AK: 407-938-9100

I'm sure you can get muffins or donuts at a local grocery store, or BWV has a bakery, and there is one on Main Street, MK too.

When we are staying on site, we always get the refillable mugs. I guess it depends on where you're staying if it is a long walk or not. Especially for kids, you can fill them up at the pool - I think you can get milk or juice for breakfast - it will pay for itself after 4 refills.

I'm sure some others have good advice - I just like to give mine! :lmao:

Don't mean to be a thread hog, but I'm just catchin' up!

Pam, I'm glad your DSIS is okay!

Tessa, Erin's ticket find sounds fun! I was just looking at Aquatica last night! I was telling Jim that the way Disney keeps raising prices, and now you can rent "Preferred Chairs" it will be harder to find chairs - it might be time to look for another water park. We usually don't go to the water parks w/o kids anyway.

Jillian - I guess bad hallucinations are no good - that's what happens to me when I take Tylenol PM or Contact - why can't we hallucinate that we win the lottery or are swimming in M&Ms or something? :hippie:

Kara, you're new diet sounds interesting - we were just looking at a couple of plans like that - 2 on and 1 off - it says you trick your metabolism into burning more fat. I don't think you need to lose anyway, but I'll still cheer you on! :cheer2:

Lorrie! You need to take care of yourself! You are too young to be having BP problems! Your babies need you! Now, what is your plan, and how can we support you?

I'd better get to bed - have had a nasty visit from AF the past couple of days. I was up half the night. I can't leave the house for very long and I'm exhausted. Hopefully this is the beginning of the end!:woohoo:
