Looking for Control Freaks & Worry Warts - Part 4!!!

Hey girls just wanted to pop in and say hello.

Kara- love the tickers so much fun I want to try the Swan and Dolphon too but this next trip is going to be CSR. We had a lazy day too I showered and we went out for breakfast then came home and took a 3 hour nap:scared1: I am never going to get to bed tonight.

Tina- So close you will have a blast.

Tammie- Sorry the trip didn't work out. How are you doing?

Well going to fold 7 loads of laundry no I'm not kidding 7 loads. Then tomorrow is cleaning and cooking day because I'm finally back to work on Wed. :woohoo:

Tina - We tend to be tv and video junkies at our house, too sometimes. This am, after newspaper and coffee, Darrin and I played a game of Yahtzee. A board game of Yahtzee, not the Wii one! I was hoping to play a family board game tonight. We'll see.

Tammie - I hope that you don't get sick! That was awful, IMO, for the parents to bring their kids, knowing they could get others sick. Yuck.

Tessa - :rotfl2: My kids were not involved in a pub situation this weekend! (At least not to my knowledge!:lmao:) Over here, lock-ins are sleepovers, where the kids don't sleep, usually at churches or schools. They are supervised and led in organized activities by the staff. My girls both had loads of fun. They played broom ball at an ice skating rink, in tennis shoes, hitting a ball w/brooms thru goals on the ice, had a scavenger hunt, and had breakfast at IHOP (International House of Pancakes) at some wee hour of the AM. Taylor walked in at 6am, hit the bed, and didn't get up until 1pm. I think Megan slept most of yesterday afternoon and evening, and thru the night, after practice was over at 1:30pm. The evening practice was cancelled. Thank goodness!!!

Erin - WOW! is all I have to say about all of your trips and fun activities planned before school. Oh, and LUCKY!

Kara - That is awesome about the Dolphin! I know that we are way overpaying for POP Nov 19-26, but when I looked on Expedia, I couldn't find it any cheaper, and getting the free CSDP, I couldn't have booked it on Expedia. The room discount WDW is offering isn't as good of a deal as the free dining, with 4 of us going. We've never gotten that great of a deal on the values that time of year. We went in Oct after Sept 11 and got a $59 rate on a value.

Jillian - I'm w/ya on laundry. I will be strugging to get mine done (and probably not put up) tonight. Yuck!

Sounds like everyone had a great weekend w/friends. We had a wonderful date night at dinner and the Elvis show (please refrain from laughing - I love Elvis). The guy was fantastic. I will definitely see him again, and also see a gospel show or some other kind of show at the venue.

I need to get dinner on the table. The timer is beeping. I don't want this weekend to end!:grouphug:

Okay, I suck.

I still haven't caught up - and I really want to because I haven't heard all the Jonas stuff other than texts. SIGH.

I've been spring cleaning, etc. Nicolas starts school soon so there is all that. I elected to keep Mia out of preschool, so I will have her with me all the time this fall.

Anyway, I did want to pop in and say hi. Haven't forgotten you all, just been swamped it seems. Big hugs and promise I will be back online soon! :goodvibes

hi there all,
what fun weekend everyone had. We spent last night glued to the TV. There was severe weather here last night. really the first time that the sirens have sounded all season, which is rare because they normally go off once a month in the summer. All is well, no tornadoes here but just a bit south of me one touched down and took out some trees. It is amazing that it just hit a nature preserve. Tim is in Austin again. His trip took nearly 12 hours. He couldn't get a straight flight from MN to Austin. he jumped all the way there. here to St. louis, then to Dallas and on to Austin. Pam I hear it was hot there today.

The girls and I hit downtown Minneapolis for a history tour. We went to a Mill Museum and walked across an old rail bridge that has been around for 110 years. Very interesting. I never knew that Minnesota was a capital of prosthetic limbs because of the flour milling industry. Love to do stuff like that periodically , it keeps the girls grounded.

Hope you are feeling better Jillian.

Hi to all of our new friends. I haven't put names to stories yet but welcome.

Hi Lorrie!! Hope back to school shopping is going well.

EWWWW! I hate it when parents send their kids sick to school. It should be interesting when everyone goes back to see what happens with the H1N1 stuff. Hope you disinfected your self well tammie. Glad to hear you are getting your house back together.

Tinalala--how are you keeping the secret? My mind would be blown. You are getting so close. Can't wait to see all of the new shirts you are making.

Lydia-- good luck with determining what to charge your friend. I'm so spineless for that part. I hate talking about money with friends.

oh kara! We knew that you couldn't make it until December. Those are some awesome deals. Now which resorts haven't you stayed in?:lmao: Hope ally's finger is getting better.

Cammie- how was jersey?

okay Tim has taken my netbook and turned it into a Mac. I think it has been a million years since I have worked in Mac land. kind of liking it.

have a great week!

Hi Lorrie!:wave2: You don't suck.

I was just thinking that it is so not fair for someone to have 3 tickers.:rolleyes1

BOSU ball. I just got one today, did my almost hr long workout in the living room and almost died. I love it, and will love it more once I learn how to balance and stay on it and not fall off!:rotfl2: I was cursing like a sailor, but stuck w/it until the end. Darrin was watching me and :lmao: Who will be :rotfl2: when I get in shape?? :woohoo:I needed to do something... I plan on doing it 3 times a week, and once I get the hang of the workout I recorded, I will see about getting a dvd or 2 for variety. Now, if I can just stop eating, or at least cut back on the sweets and snacks...

I don't want to go to work tomorrow. I have a feeling it's going to be one of those Sunday nights when I stay up late because I don't want the weekend to end.:sad2:

OK. Back to :laundy: 'Night all! :grouphug:

Laura - Today we had a cool front roll in. It was only 95F!!:rotfl2: It felt hot to me, but at least it wasn't 100F+.

It sound like you had fun w/the girls. I'm glad you all didn't get hit directly w/the severe weather. I still haven't set up all friends and family's zip codes in the weather thing on my iTouch. It's fun to hear what's going on by others.

Hi Ladies! I really need to get to bed, but I had 2 cups of coffee at my moms tonight so I'm not sleepy. I'm drinking a glass of wine - do you think it will balance out the caffiene? :rotfl2:

LORRIE! We love you! We'll still be here when you come up for air!:grouphug:

Erin! 4 DAYS!!!! If I don't get back here - have a great time!:woohoo:

Kara - sounds like a fun night with friends! We need some of those - haven't had time lately :goodvibes YIPEE for the tickers and ressies! Great deals! :thumbsup2I'm looking for the dip recipe - I think I remember it - may have to call MIL for another copy.

Laura, I'm glad you had such a nice weekend. Good for you doing the educational stuff with your girls. We used to do that here, too.

Tessa! I'm not sure if you got the translation - a "lock-in" is like a slumber party at school or church, etc. You lock up after a certain time, and kids can't get in or out - adults stay with them and you separate the boys and girls in to separate areas - we usually have activities planned. The trick is to stay awake longer than the kids to make sure there's no hanky-panky;)

Tina, good for you sticking to the family day. How did the oreo balls turn out? I really have to make some of them. Actually, I'm having a potluck meeting tomorrow night over here - making chicken divan - maybe I should make those, too! We'll see how much time I have - I have another facial and make-up appt in the morning, and I need to write thank you cards to my team and write a training.

Well, starting to get sleepy - thanks for the well wishes everyone, I think I am. Well. :goodvibes no sickness here. Maybe I touched enough bleach when I was cleaning. I used alot of hand sanitizer throughout the week.

Hello everyone I didn't address - Have a great Monday!

Hiya all,

Erin - good luck in DLRParis - I am sooo envious, I want to go back there - maybe next year.... Pizzeria Bella Notte was our fave fast food place - character meets outside, decent HOT pizza.... I find the Paris parks tend to serve stuff really lukewarm... Say hello to the dragon for us...

Pam - we are a big board game family! I also love yahtzee (and boggle) we play Cluedo and Monopoly and Destination most weekends. We have Harry Potter themed Cluedo - the kids LOVE it.

Well, weigh in tonight after a week of eating out for mum's visit, so who knows....:confused3 tried weighing at home, but I know my batteries are running out, my weight fluctuates between 120 :goodvibes (AS IF!!) and 240 pounds :eek::eek: , now one or 2 pounds variation in one day is ok , but 120?????

Oh, and I think a UK lock in sounds much more fun;)

Tessa

Just skimmed through the last posts. But I did want to tell you guys - check Expedia before you make any room ressies!!!!

I just looked at various dates, including Oct during F&W and found Contemporary for $149!!!! Also, the mods were $94 and so were the values!!!! It's weird!

The only thing is that you need a nice CM when you make ADRs cause they don't show up in the system right away. I just made an ADR for Akershus in 3 weeks (couldn't believe they had a princess meal left!!!) and she just added me into the system since my expedia ressie didn't show up.

But GF was $308 every date I checked - now that's still way more than I will pay, but considering that BW, BC, YC were all more??? But then I also found a BC date for $189! Seriously! So instead of driving down for a day for F&W in Oct, we will probably score a room for one night! Now you can't use free dining with any of these offers, but considering the savings..... who cares! Not sure if you can add on DDP or not. Would have to check on that.

OK, has anyone eaten at Garden Grove in the Swan? I think Ally and I are gonna try it while we're there in Sept. Since we're staying at the Dolphin and only planning on HS and Epcot that trip, it's a character meal, so we'll give it a go. And it was an easy ADR to score. Looks like Pluto and Goofy on the weekends, and Rafiki and Timon on Monday and Friday.

Pam - good job on the workout! I hit the gym this morning, too, and plan on getting there at least 3 days a week for 30-40 minutes. It was funny though - when I pulled up and got out, the fitness director was walking to his car and he looked at me, smiled and said, "are you here to work out?" Yeah, he knows me. I told him I heard there must be a cold front in hell! :rotfl2: He knows me too well after swim team, and knows that I HATE to work out!

Good morning guys.

Okay, so I see Pam is back :goodvibes but here is what I'm going to do - I'll skim to find the Jonas lowdown and someone catch me up with what I've missed please. It will save me time.

I have to go to school to take shot records today, then meet the principal with Nicolas tomorrow night, class placement testing is Thursday, then next Thursday we meet with the teachers to find out our stagger days and which teacher. :scared1: This school stuff is just freaking me out.

Plus too I've been dealing with issues while away. I've been super tired. Turns out my bp is nutty, as is my glucose levels. My blood sugar is just running too low. Interesting stuff. So I'm back on the WW stuff again.

Tessa, I'm so glad I have you for a role model. I need to get past the first couple of weeks and I will be okay.

So that is the catch up with us.

The outside of our house is ugly. I have bushes so overgrown. It is just too hot to be out there doing it but I think I have to or someone is going to call the HOA on us.

Most of the school clothes I bought Nicolas DON'T FIT! :scared1:I got 6/7's and he really needs 7/8's :sad2: Always something.

On a lovely note, at 5 am this Sun I book our ADRs for our Nov trip.

Pam, I am going to miss you by a couple of days. :upsidedow

Kara, after you mentioned the beds at the Dolphin (hadn't realized they were Westin properties) I started seeing what I could find. For our dates, the package for there would be $100 more than Beach Club, but that is because we have a deal there. If we didn't, original price is $1600 ($600) more.

But if you stay there you don't get ME I think, so that would raise our price bc we'd need to get a rental or taxi.

Plus I'm paying with points... Yep, whole trip paid for with points. AND AND get this - they raised the ticket price, so I get more money on my birthday to spend. Should be around $90. Any suggestions of goodies in DHS?

Happy MONDAY! :confused3 yeah right!

Okay someone asked if how my Oreo balls had come out - because I was determined to make them this weekend. Well, honestly - we opened the bag of oreos and ate 1/2 of them. :headache: I know I know that's not a good start, but I am commited to making them at some point. I just have to buy the bag and make the balls immediately. To further add to the pain of the Oreo balls - I stepped on the scale today and was UP 2 lbs - darn Oreos.

ttessa - my family loves board games - clue is my favorite! We're into playing cards right now - go fish, crazy eights and rummy. We play cards at every meal at the kitchen table. It's actually a great way to turn off the TV and get everyone at the table together. We laugh and argue and really talk to each other.

So last night I was able to sneak in an hour of packing time while DH had the girls out in the pool. I packed up the girls only to realize I didn't take a picture of their t-shirts. It's ok cause I will be packing completely on Friday and I know I'll be taking everything out and re-rolling their clothes. I don't put the outfits in ziploc bags, but I do roll shirt, short, undies and socks all together. I'm getting very excited thought 2 more weeks! And I've still kept it a secret I can't believe it!:cool1::dance3:

Lorrie - ok, here's what you've missed.....

Debbie is freaking out - we've all got her back.

Cammie's the coolest mom in the world cause she got backstage passes for the JBs. Then the scumbag ex's new wifey had a baby, trying to deal with Amanda and Lauren on this issue. Oh, did I mention scumbag ex took Lauren for a crummy weekend in NYC and made her share a room with 3 guys???

Erin is running around like a crazy woman - busy busy busy!

Tessa is becoming a skinny minnie!!! She's kicking butt in the weight loss department!

Tina is stressing over NOT telling her girls about their upcoming trip - how will she pack without them knowing? And making cute clothes for the girls too!

Tammie is gonna be a new grandma!!!! And she's missing the kids in TX, too. But they're not being very helpful about calling and letting the grandkids check in.

Lydia is stampin up and planning a new vacay too!

Jillian has been on bedrest and had surgery but she's doing great now! Now she is suffering from being cooped up in the house!!!! And Badookie is still adorable! Even when he plays windmill with his juice box!!! :rotfl2:

Laura had a successful party for her inlaws and now planning for school year. Seriously, she makes us all look bad with her volunteering and chairing this and that! Love ya!

And we have some newbies too! Check out the food porn of the great oreo balls that I got a recipe for!!!

OK, who did I miss? Me? Oh, yeah, the usual. Season pass blackout dates are over so I'm booking three trips including one with my neighbor and our girls. Then just Ally and I and then a family trip in December. Only a total of 4 nights between all three trips though......

Lorrie - ok, here's what you've missed.....

Tessa is becoming a skinny minnie!!! She's kicking butt in the weight loss department!

Kara - I WISH!!!!! ,
Lorrie - :woohoo:no one ever called me a role model before - well, not in the positive sense anyhow..;) I find WW to be easy, but slip into bad habits if I don't go....

So thank you - it's you lot that keep me going - all the encouragement from folks the other side of the world (oops - not forgotten you too Erin...) is great..... At home all I get from MIL, mum etc is - don't lose too much, you know you look better now, so don't go too far etc - WW has meetings all about the "underminers" - I sure do know what they are now.... I need to ship you lot over as my "positive affirmers". You could all do lectures in how to support those who want to lose weight!! So thanks all....:grouphug:

But yep - I think Kara summed up all the talk in a nutshell!! Got me back up to speed too... and I - HAVE - been reading...:rotfl:

Tessa

Hi Girls,
Nice, hot summer weekend! Free fun I say! Pool in the back yard, sprinklers free heat! We just hung out. I did shop with my Mom to get wedding stuff done with my Mom for my brothers wedding and also got some school supplies. Mark worked all last week and it looks good for this week. I'm not sure what his boss said to him about the future but it definitely put my hubbie in a funk! I am going back into denial! I didn't clean all weekend so today is clean, pay the bills, sort through paperwork, and then do a return or two if I can get to that point.
Kara...GREAT recap! That's why we keep you around even though you go to WDW so much and we all hate you! J/K of course! We LOVE you & love living vicariously thru you!
Jillian...I actually like to do laundry. Crazy I know but it doesn't bug me. Good luck going back to work and I completely know what you are going thru with a toddler! Totally exhausting!
Tessa....you ARE doing great with your diet! We are all proud of you! I need to do something now myself because I have let my weight creep up all summer! Everyone around here is big into doing this lemonade cleanse! Sounds crazy to me! Too hard!
Erin...I feel like Chloe just got out of school and you are already planning for her to go back!
Tina....you are doing so great keeping the trip a surprise! That will be so cool!
Lorrie.....it's hard dealing with life and then getting to the computer! I completely understand! I even have INTERNET on my phone now but it is terrible for the DIS! I wish it was as easy as FB is on the phone! Take care of yourself and let us know how you are doing! Watch that BP!
Laura.....Glad you are safe and sound! Storms can be so scary! Especially when the man of the house is away!!!!
Tammie....I am glad you didn't get sick and I pray you don't! Nothing is worse then the stomach flu! So gross and it just kicks your butt!! Glad all is well on your end (aside from VBS) and that you are being so productive!
Cammie.....glad you got some rest! Can't wait to hear about the girls visit with the jerk and the new baby!
Pam....stay cool! I always forget how hot is by you!!!!! Glad you're back here again!
Lydia...not sure what's going on with you I will have to look back and Shelly I promise I will figure out all about you soon!

Hey...shout out to the newbies too! You will get to know me better in the Fall when the weather gets chillier and the kids go back to school!

BTW Did I tell you guys that EVERY single picture from WDW on this whole summer is on my camera!!!!!!!!! That has to be a project to undertake soon!!!! Also, got my photopass CD to do too! The problem is that I don't want to download stuff on this computer because I want a new computer but we are still on the big spending freeze so I can't get the new computer!!!!

Hi Ladies! I really need to get to bed, but I had 2 cups of coffee at my moms tonight so I'm not sleepy. I'm drinking a glass of wine - do you think it will balance out the caffiene? :rotfl2:

Ha! I always wonder that when I am drinking an Irish coffee or Bailey's and coffee! :confused3Yum!:lovestruc

Kara - LOVE the rundown! You forgot - "and Pam is writing her novels again.":rotfl2: Oh, Lorrie mentioned that discreetly!:lmao: Good job on the great rate finds. I am scared to go out to Expedia now, but I will. I need to see if I can change it. It would have to be worth it for us to lose the free dining for 4. The free dining is tied to your room ressies and at least buying a one day park ticket thru WDW.

Lorrie - About what you've missed - Does anything really matter besides the JB?! :lovestruc Sorry that we will miss each other on our trips. I noticed that. BTS is consuming us, too. Don't let it get the best of you. I know it's not easy. It's always something.

Tessa - I would love your scale when it's on the low side! Maybe it's good because one doesn't ever know their true weight. I am going to throw another GOOD JOB your way!:cheer2: I am motivated to get back on that darn 1/2 ball again tonight, so I can learn how to not fall off of it! I know that I looked silly. That's why I am going to try to exercise in the comfort of my own home. When it cools off, I will start walking again outside. Too hot right now.

Tina - I was wondering why I never received those Oreo balls! ;) I can totally relate, as Oreos and Chips Ahoy are my favorite all time cookies, and ALWAYS fill my cookie jar. I do buy others for the rest of the family, but I have to have my staples! I can't wait to see your shirts. I woudl be exploding by now, keeping your secret.

Pam - how did I forget you??? OK, Lorrie, Pam is slammed with band practices, and bts shopping! She has upcoming trip too!

Did that do it? :rotfl2:

holy backreading batman!

Just sneaking in to say hi while I'm at work. I have ZERO desire to be here today...nasty thunderstorms last night and now 100% humidity...I look like a giant q-tip!

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend though!

Oh - side note - does anyone have any of the following double strollers, and if so do you love it, hate it or it's just ok? I'm on the hunt for one that will be good for this fall...a 2 year old and a newborn (which btw we decided on the 14th...so the day after DS's birthday :goodvibes)

Sit N Stand Double Stroller
Kolcraft Contours Options Tandem Stroller
Graco Quattro Duo
Peg Perego Aria Twin (60/40 split)

ANY other suggestions welcome!!!!!!

Hi, Debbie!:hippie: You sound more chipper! I am so glad!

Pam - how did I forget you??? OK, Lorrie, Pam is slammed with band practices, and bts shopping! She has upcoming trip too!

Did that do it? :rotfl2:

OK... I'll forgive you. Even if you are the guilty party w/3 tickers!:rotfl: I loved your summary! I priced POP on Expedia, and for our dates, it's $610.63. I am paying $835.15, but am getting resort mugs for free ($55.36) and 2 CS and 2 snacks pp for 7 days -- which I think is worth the extra $172.16 I am paying, then some. I'd like to think that I am saving money! (Please don't tell me if I am not!;)) It sounds good to me!

I have ZERO desire to be here today...nasty thunderstorms last night and now 100% humidity...I look like a giant q-tip!

I'm w/ya sister on the zero desire. My mind is always elsewhere these days - the kids at home, BTS, our trip. It's what keeps me going here...Can't offer any advice on the double stroller, as I never had two in diapers or a stroller. Mine are almost 5 years apart!:scared1: Most of the time, I miss those diaper and stroller days...Glad to hear you decided on the day after DS's bday. Although I would have said that if you chose the other way around. Happy event, either way!!
