Looking for Control Freaks & Worry Warts - Part 4!!!

Tessa, here we prepay and get savings buying meeting "coupons". I still have about six saved up, so I am thinking I need to go to them but for me it is a 45 minute drive and the little one isn't into sitting quiet for an hour. :guilty: I need to figure it out though. I did so well last time, but I'm having a rough time sticking to everything as I did before... then again I had only one child that was still eating baby food at that point - big difference!
holy backreading batman!

Just sneaking in to say hi while I'm at work. I have ZERO desire to be here today...nasty thunderstorms last night and now 100% humidity...I look like a giant q-tip!

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend though!

Oh - side note - does anyone have any of the following double strollers, and if so do you love it, hate it or it's just ok? I'm on the hunt for one that will be good for this fall...a 2 year old and a newborn (which btw we decided on the 14th...so the day after DS's birthday :goodvibes)

Sit N Stand Double Stroller
Kolcraft Contours Options Tandem Stroller
Graco Quattro Duo
Peg Perego Aria Twin (60/40 split)

ANY other suggestions welcome!!!!!!
I had two - Sit N Stand & Graco Quattro Duo. For kids that young, I would say the Graco hands down or one of the others. The sit and stand is very non-cushie. Very hard, even with the optional padding you can buy. It was great for my 2/5 year olds, but I wouldn't have wanted it for them when they were much younger. I actually gave my SIL who will have the same age split the Graco. It is heavy and massive, but doesn't tip and is comfy for little ones. She used it at the fair and remarked it was much easier to recline (and reclined flat) unlike her Peg Perego (which is a single).

Hope that helps some. If not, you can always ask me more specific stuff - I certainly don't mind.

Kara. Knew I could count on you. I tell you, I'm envying that Dolphin stay. At CKU we had Heavenly Beds and we thought it was cruel since we got to bed at 2 am and were back up at 6 am. Those beds were like HEAVEN!

I'm getting excited about our trip though. Do any of your FOUR overlap mine? :rolleyes1

Cammie - You know how I feel about that ex of yours. I hope he isn't being too nasty. But secretly, I find great joy in all the sleepless nights he is having these days. I hope that Amanda and Lauren are doing well, and that Amanda IS NOT sleeping in the room with the baby. I think that DA EX should take a go at that one! :snooty:

Tina - so glad your trip is so soon! And great for you about the secret!

Debbie - I knew you were busy enjoying summer!

Tammie - congrats on the new one one the way. :)

Pam - We have oreo issues in this house too. They don't last. Neither do Cheezits (though I DESPISE THEM).

Laura - I'm joining the PTO, but certainly not Chairing. No way!

All this BTS stuff for Kindergarten is driving me batty!

I've been house cleaning too. Plus frosting some windows with film - LOVE IT! Tomorrow is steam cleaning the carpet.

JILLIAN! I'm sorry I missed that you were having surgery. I'm thinking it was probably for your AF issues. I hope it did the trick and your recover is great and you are TTC before you know it! :goodvibes

CRdis - hey do you need help with your girl scout stuff?? We've planned out a few months so let me know if you want me to send you somethings to help out!!! Be a Sister to Every Girl Scout you know! I have to mail out my letters to the girls reminding them of our first meeting, prep our Value hunt and then do a 'Discover me' star for our banner - all before we leave in 16 days. Let me know if you need help - I LOVE to plan and have some great ideas, but my other leaders aren't really 'into' most of my ideas so I'm kinda bummed about it.

I totally understaand about today because I didn't want to go to work today either.

We're watching the Little Mermaid II - I love the 'ride' they created - I hope they redo Fantasyland like the rumor shows so they can create the Little Mermaid ride. DD7 would ride it all day. it's hard enough getting her out of the show at the Studios and she pretty much attacks Ariel at her grotto!

AAGGHH why do they have to fight - suddenly the girls are fighting! Makes me crazy! Well I'm going to veg out with the girls! DH isn't coming home until 7pm so I'm on dinner duty. Have a great night!

we just had our planning meeting. Tinalala i will PM you our plans to see what you think. I can go nuts over this stuff.

Hiya all

:cool1::cool1:I made my 10%:cool1::cool1:

lost 2 pounds this weigh in so I am happy.

Shelley - My friend had the Graco Quattro duo with a 2 and a half year old and a newborn and well, I don't think I would recommend it to be honest.

Reasons for buying were that you could put one seat FULLY flat for the newborn whilst the other was sat up, that worked ok. And the usual huge and easy access Graco basket underneath. It folds easily and doesn't tip up.

BUT they seemed awfully cramped in there, it was hard to push up and down the kerb - the big kid is right at the front - and took up a lot of space even when folded. They say it is "lightweight" but weighs about 40 pounds - even without the raincover which is a b**ch to get access through to the baby. Don't know about the others, but have heard from friends that Chicco do a good tandem.

Got to go stop the kids watching TV and take them to town - it's DH 40th on Sat and he doesn't want a party, so we have to go buy something fantastic for him , perhaps inspiration will grab me in town - I heard a retro sweet/candy shop has opened, perhaps I could find him 40 different sweets from his childhood (if it has that many?? :rolleyes1) Then the kids can decorate a box or jar for him - I'm getting ideas.... Have also done a photobook of him from childhood through to parenthood. We go for thoughtful not "big" thankfully - easier on the wallet.

His mum is making his birthday cake and we will make his favourite marshmallows on skewers, dipped in chocolate with sprinkles on. You can always tell when we do them - from the state of the kitchen and the kids faces!! Have also got my friend babysitting so we can go eat/ to the movies. So that will do..

Tessa

Tessa - Congrats on 10%!!!! That's awesome! I love the 40 different treats from their childhood, that's really thoughtful, and fun!

I think I've ruled out the Contours Options stroller....you have to REMOVE a seat in order to fold it up. What the heck?! How is that convienent. And of course...I keep thinking what a nightmare that'd be at Disney, even though this stroller is for now and isn't being bought specifically for Disney.:lmao:

Good Morning.

We found out yesterday that Dana lost her baby over the weekend. They were out of town. :guilty: We are all sad, but you know these things usually happen for a good reason. I think most of us have lost one early, probably not a healthy baby. I lost one before Ryan.

Shelly, my DS and DDIL bought the Baby Trend double jogger for DL last year. Comfy for the kids, as easy to push as the Disney strollers, but very heavy to fold up and carry on the monorail, and the wheels are removable for packing, which is good and bad. They keep getting detached when you don't want them to. It did have a big basket underneath and a cup holder/ sun glass holder.

Kara, love your rundown of the thread! :thumbsup2

Tessa, congrats on your 10%:cheer2:

I'm off to catch up on a few TRs - I woke up way too early! Have a great day everyone.

CONGRATS TESSA!!!:banana::cool1::thumbsup2

So envious!

Promise to catch up with all I've missed today. Lauren started tennis lessons this week and we're up out for most of the morning.

WELCOME BACK Lorrie! Missed seeing you around here! Hi to everyone else.

And Tina - more for you................................(I got 'em; so I'm posting 'em)

Happy Tuesday!

Ttessa - HOORRAY!! :cool1: You're doing AWESOME!

Magicfor2 - I'm so sorry. Give her a hug from all of us!! When I lost my last one I was told that he wasn't healthy enough for me but one of my girls will bring him to this world so I be able to hold him! It made me feel better.

Cammie - THERE WAS A PICTURE THAT NICK WAS LOOKING RIGHT AT ME!! :lovestruc [Swooning] Ok did you see Miley at the awards? They're saying she was pole dancing in a half naked outfit. :confused3 I watched the video and I didn't find it inappropriate. She was covered in the front - I understand she was wearing a black lacy bra, but the kids wouldn't have noticed it. What do you think?

So DH just told me this AM that his mother is going to take the girls tomorrow night so we can go out for our 14th anniversary. :scared1: Honestly I'm shocked - we haven't gone out to eat in over a month so we can save for Disney and we haven't celebrated since our 10th. Maybe he's taking me to buy an embroidery machine!!!!:rolleyes1 Not that I haven't been asking for one or anything! Yeah maybe he'll take me to Wendy's drive thru and we'll eat it in the driveway before he tries to jump me in the back seat like when we were kids. Of course my aunt flo will probably come by before then and spoil everything! I guess I shouldn't complain, at least he remembered.

:rotfl2:Tina, you're so funny! My DH always teases me about taking me to McD's for special occasions. And the last time we tried the backseat after 20 years of marriage we got caught by the police

Tammie - so sorry about Dana!!! But I remember a class I took years ago in college, where we learned that it is estimated that only like 20% of pregnancies make it to birth. More women have miscarriages and don't even realize it - could be a heavier period than normal, etc. So I'm sure she'll be fine to try again, and yes, I do believe these things happen for a reason!

OH - this is a story I've GOT to hear!:rotfl:

Tina - you're hilarious! But I'd tell that husband that if he wants any "tackling in the back seat" to take place, he better take you to a place where the food doesn't get served in a plastic wrapping.

And, hate to break it to you, but Lauren is under the impression Nick was looking right at HER!:lovestruc

Yes, we watched the Teen Choice awards last night. I had no problem with Miley's performance or what she was wearing. The girl was pushed around on ice cream cart, while holding onto a pole, for a small part of the song and it's now being blown up to "She was pole dancing." Please. As for her clothes - the bra was visible from the side; not like she was busting out of it. Good lord, I've seen much worse on some middle-schoolers. The girl is almost 17 yrs. old. I really didn't find anything inappropriate about it. I feel bad she's always under so much scrutiny.

Ok Luca needs a nap and will not go down the door is closed and he is yelling my name from the room. :sad2: I'm sure he'll make his way to his bed soon.

Tina- :lmao::thumbsup2 Love it!

Tammie- I think this story needs elaboration also. I am so sorry for Dana it is so hard. I just found out today that I probably miscarried in the last 6 months and that is why I was having so many problems. Give her a big hug send her a comfy blanket and some tea I am sure she will appreciate it. Love to you and your family

Kara- I'm hitting the gym too. I've lost 4 pounds starting weight watchers tomorrow. It worked before and I need to loose 20 before we start trying to get pregnant so here it goes.

Tessa- :woohoo: on the weight loss you're amazing will you be my WW buddy?

Shelly- I was thinking this one the next time around.

I like the way it fold up.
Either that or the Maclaren. I love my Maclaren and think it maybe a good option. http://www.maclarenbaby.com/us/content/view/88448/88889612/lang,en/

Well ladies I got the all clear from the Doctor today. I am so excited to be done with this leg of the journey now it's regulate then come thanksgiving we can start trying for number 2:banana:While typing this Luca has decided to escape from his room and is now playing in the living room:headache:

Cammie - Nick was absolutely looking at Moi! So sorry Tina and Lauren. :lmao: Thanks for those! (Has anyone seen David Cassidy on Ruby and the Rockits? I used to LOVE David, and even more, his brother, Shaun! I think David looks kind of funny now! Too much work done, IMO.) I agree w/you about Miley. I am pretty liberal about what my girls watch and listen to, but I understand that some people might have a problem w/it. Maybe they just I am bummed that I (I mean we!) missed the TCA last night! Darn. Wonder if they will replay it...

Lorrie - ??You love cleaning the carpet?? Oh. You love the window film. I had to go back and re-read that!:rotfl:

Yeah, Tessa! Congrats!! I love your ideas of the candy and the picture book for your hubby. Those are such great ideas, and so special. Have fun on your birthday date night! The chocolate marshmallows - OMG! YUM! I now need a candy bar (mini, of course) after my lunch.

Tammie - I am so sorry about the baby. I also agree that it happens for a reason, but it doesn't make it easier when you are going thru it. I miscarried my first. It was very hard for me. I hope that Dana gets pregnant soon. I did about 4 months later w/Megan. I couldn't imagine my life w/out Megan, and wouldn't if I had the first one.:cloud9: Ha! about your police story!:rotfl2:

Tina - Happy Anniversary! I hope that you get your embroidery machine, or at least some back seat action!:thumbsup2

Hi Michelle!:hippie: and the rest of the CFWWs!

I didn't do my BOSU ball workout last night, so will tonight. I wasn't sore yesterday, but today every muscle in my body is achy! I am so excited! That means the workout works the whole body (or I did something terribly wrong - maybe I'm sore from falling off of it?!:lmao:). No band practice driving tonight. I took both ways last night, after a squabble w/hubby, who thought I was giving him the 9pm pickup because it's the least desirable one, when I was giving it to him so he could eat dinner:headache:. He was fixing dinner when I walked in the door a little late, after stopping at the store on my way home from work. So, I drove last night, he is driving tonight, me Wed, he Thurs, and splitting Fri. It will be nice to not leave the house after getting home from work. I guess I will be glad when Megan gets her license (it will be at least 6 more months) and we don't do as much driving around. We carpool w/other Sophomores who don't drive either. I am not crazy about letting her ride w/upperclassmen yet, but I know that will be coming shortly, as she is at the big high school this year.

Just found out that my 25th HS reunion :scared1: is at our homecoming (I'm the crypt keeper here), the same weekend as Megan's homecoming. I am torn. I haven't been to a reunion yet. Can't decide what to do, but have until Oct to decide...

Hi Jillian! Is Luca outgrowing naps? That's great about the weight and the clear from the dr, but you didn't say anything about how you FEEL. I hope that you are feeling better.:flower3:

Pam I hope Luca isn't outgrowing naps I would be heartbroken it's the only 2 hours I get to pick up the house.

I am feeling ok I am still have cramping but other than that I feel better have a little more energy and my hormones are regulating so I am losing weight again. The doctor showed me pics today and I was a mess he couldn't believe it once he got in there. The funny thing is none of the tests showed the polyps or the excess tissue in there:confused:
