Looking for Control Freaks & Worry Warts - Part 4!!!

Yes, I'd love to have the recipe for oreo balls!!! Anything that is no bake is right up my alley!

And chili is a good call, too! Depending on weather - remember, we're in FL and sometimes a good winter comfort food like that just doesn't sound too good.

We went in the beginning of January this year, and were able to use the pools. They're heated, so the water felt great. It was just when you got out that you were cold. :)

We didn't go in after dark, only because it did get so cool out, but there were TONS of people using the pool at that time (we stayed at the ASMu). It was kind of funny seeing all the steam coming off it in the early mornings as we headed to the food court for breakfast.

Ooh thats fab news, we are going the end of Jan, beginning of Feb, is daytime weather good and warm????

- and with the talk about Jan/Feb in WDW - I don't mind cold (though jeans and sweatshirt sounds like a good summer to me :goodvibes)- but is it wet/ rainy with it????

Tessa

Hahhaha you mean a bit like the summer we are having right now Tessa?? Although at mo we are more wet than cold :headache:

We have decided our dates we are driving Leaving Boston Feb 28th and Arriving March 2nd we will stay until March 10th and be home in Boston on the 11th.
Oh what a shame we will definitely miss you guys then, never mind i'll just have to plan another trip soon ;)

2 things that I consider my "signature" dishes when I bring a dish to pass are chicken wing dip and oreo balls...I'd be more than happy to share the recipe if you'd like. The wing dip is a pretty decent size and SO yummy, and the oreo balls are a piece of cake and are no-bake. :woohoo:
Yummmmmmmmmmmm Oreo balls mmmmmmmmmm *drool*

Ok girls i am off to put Cj in bed then i will return if anyone else is here and i'm not talking to myself hahahhahahhahahahaa:laughing:;)

OK Guys!!!! I AM HERE! I absolutely LOVE my INTERNET access on the phone but it is crazy! It's almost like some sites like FB and Perez Hilton are designed for it but places like the Dis aren't! Plus, I have a pretty cool phone but it's not an iPhone or blackberry so those probably would be better. OK tell me if any of yours works like this....I have to put the cursor on where I want to type or enter and then it turns blue. When it's blue i know i can type. Well, at the dis it would never let me type in the spot where it showed to post. Most of the time I could read too but then other times I felt like it wasn't showing me everything. VERY frustrating considering how easy it is to get around facebook from the phone I wish the DIS had a more phone user friendly site.

I hope you guys are all good. I WILL catch up here eventually. I have been super cranked because while I was away Mark didn't have work and then I got my monthly enemy which wiped me out emotionally and physically worse than it has in a long time. I have had horrible anxiety over the money thing because here I am away having a vacation while my husband is not working and I'm telling him not to spend any money while he's off! EXTREME guilt! I almost can't wait to hopefully work in the fall to get rid of this guilt! Same thing happened while I was in WDW! It's like the timing can never be worse! Really I am just so done with it! I keep saying I am on a spending freeze too and then one thing after another just keeps coming up. Like today I had to but Elizabeth's flower girl dress for my brothers wedding Nov 14th. Cha ching there went another charge on the card! Oh well...I am just having a pity party for myself AGAIN! It's getting old isn't it? Sorry guys! I know...this too shall pass and as I read the emails from my friend who's 4 year old daughter is fighting cancer I try and remind myself IT"S ONLY MONEY!

Sorry to vent but I am really not myself and have had some really, really, really mixed emotions this summer!

Debbie- I feel the same way when I am not working guilty for every dime I spend even putting gas in the car then I remind myself I work too and deserve some time away from the house and so does Luca. Things will get better and you can't take it with you when you go, but you can leave the memories you create!

Happy Wednesday Morning!!

Another day down and we're midweek! Hope everyone is having a great day so far. Finished a few iron on shirts last night after finally figuring out the directions - I'm such a dope - I wasn't taking the back paper off - HELLO?

Have a great day!:yay::dance3:

Here’s the recipe for the Oreo Balls:

1 package of oreos
1 brick of cream cheese (I use Neufchatel – a bit lighter)
1lb chocolate melting wafers
White Wilton icing

Crush up all the oreos (I use a min-chopper to make it nice and fine)
Mix the crushed oreos with the softened cream cheese
Form into 1 inch balls
Refrigerate for 1 hour

Melt chocolate wafers and dip refrigerated balls in the chocolate (I put them on a cookie sheet covered in wax paper after being dipped)
Refrigerate 30 minutes
Drizzle zig zags of the white Wilton frosting (it comes in a white bottle with a top that reminds me of a mustard bottle?)
Refrigerate 30 minutes

It takes some time, but most of it is sitting in the fridge, so it’s not like you have to babysit these bad boys. :woohoo::woohoo:

YES!! Daytime was fantastic! Nice and warm, we wore shorts every day (well, I wore capris as me in shorts would cause blindness in those nearby) and then just brought a light coat to wear at night. Best part was that lines weren't terrible, and we were able to get a table at some nice meals when we arrived there instead of booking in advance. It was a short notice trip. ;)

Quick good morning ladies! I don't have time to reply to everyone right now - have to study my lesson and get ready to go.

Laura, yes, it is Crocodile Dock! I think everyone must be using this one - we have a boy who is a year too old anyway, and then he has already done this one 3 times this year! We turned him in to an assistant for the arfternoon so he won't spoil it for everyone! I love this curriculum! I'm doing Chadder Chipmunk - I had alot of fun with a leafblower in class yesterday!

Kara - I have a great veggie dip that I used to make for super bowl - everyone always loved it! Oh, and I have a good chili cheese dip for chips too - whole crockpot always gone. If you want I can post the recipes later.

Debbie, I know money is such a stresser. I put my biz kind of on the back burner this past year and now I'm playing catchup. My checking account is messed up right now - just when we're leaving on a trip we shouldn't be going on. :headache: Thankfully, I should be able to catch up while we're in Idaho, although we need to save for plane tics for December too.

Happy Hump Day Tessa! :goodvibes (and to everyone else, she just enjoys it so much! :rotfl2:)

Big news!!! Ryan and Dana came over last night and we had a great time with Mason - DANA IS PREGNANT!!!!:banana::banana::banana: They tell me this will be my last grandbaby, so I hope I'll get to see this one more often!

Congrats Grandma!!!! That is fantastic news!!!!!!

And yes, I'd love any and all "favorite" recipes for our party!

Poor Ally, I got a call from Kid's camp this morning - someone slammed her fingers in a door - not broken they assured me, but swollen and she'll probably lose at least one fingernail. I went to pick her up and she was still crying. But she didn't want to come home - she said, "I just wanted to see you so you could hug me." :cloud9:

Hiya all,

thanks Tammie - still makes me smile - hump day.....:lmao: congrats on the news about your future new grandbaby....

Erin - the sun came out :woohoo: of course it must be due to mum going home today....;) I have my "home" back now...

Tessa

Hey guys! Just popping in real quick - still at my sister's. Here until Friday. Just wanted to give you a quick update................

Amanda and Lauren's step-sister has arrived. Let the good time roll people! ;)

And congrats to you Tammie!

Will update and chat more this weekend.

I bet you are about to disown me. :lmao:

Things have been nuts here. Seriously one thing after another. We just got back in Monday. We'd been visiting family. All of us are sick. YUCK. I need to go back and see what has been going on with all of you!

But I did want to say hi and I have missed you guys. I got a "notification" that I should look at the specials during our stay. Seems like I could switch from BC to BWI for the same $. Anyone have any thoughts as to if one is better than the other when you are going with a friend?

Shelly - I'll find the instructions out there and PM them to you.
Tina, if you found them, could you please PM them to me, too? Maybe my goofy family will wear matching tye dyed Mickey shirts! I will certainly ask before we make them. How fun!! Yea! on the embroidery machine! You can do some really beautiful stuff w/it! I am ordering a mongrammed pair of baby bloomers for a guy in my group who just had a baby. I found a lady that does it pretty inexpensively. People love things w/their name on it!

Laura & Tina - I was a GS co-leader for my older DD for several years. She got out of GS last year. I really wish that we would have signed her up Juliet. I believe that it looks good on a college app. GS instills such good values in girls, IMO. We had a fantastic leader, who just put so much into it, and I just assisted her. The girls just decided they were too old and "cool" for GS in high school. Taylor is now in GS, she just bridged to Cadette at the end of last year, and I just help out when I can. Between band, school PTA, church, work, I just didn't want to make a commitment full time. I really miss it.

Happy Hump Day Tessa! :goodvibes (and to everyone else, she just enjoys it so much! :rotfl2:)

:rotfl2: I love it! I say it all of the time. It's fun to see people giggle over it! CONGRATS, Tammy!!! Nothing like a new grandbaby to cheer you up! Having fun w/all of those little monkeys at VBS, are you? Hee, hee...

Debbie - It is age! Cheer up, girl!! I constantly need to remind myself to put things into perspective. Constantly. I hope that you feel better. I don't have that awful monthly, so I cannot relate to that any more. Thank goodness! I do not miss it in the slightest, after having that visitor for 30 years!

Shelly - Thanks for the oreo ball recipe! I need to try them. I love to eat, esp dessert!

Tessa & Erin - I will wish for sun for you!! I wish I could send you some of ours!! Over 100F temps this week. Uggh!

Cammie - Hey! Where does your sister live? Did the girls go w/you?

Kara - Tailgating party! The fun is about to begin. I think all of the food ideas sound great. I love to eat! I love the football season! High school and the NFL Sundays. It just keeps us home most Sundays in the fall. Poor Ally! What a trooper!

I love to eat, and I am not exercising! We stopped going to the Y quite awhile ago. I just cannot make the time to go. We even stopped walking in the neighborhood because of the extreme heat and the busy schedules (and laziness?!). I need to get motivated and do something.....

Congrats on the baby!!! That is fantastic for Dana and Ryan

Tina- did your troop just do the try its or are you going to do the journey program. We tried that last year for daisys and it wasn't well revceived. I'm leaning towards just the try its.

Hey Lorrie! Long time, etc......... We miss you!

Cammie - I swear it just seems like yesterday that we found out she was preggers!!!!! How are the girls handling it?

Congrats on the baby!!! That is fantastic for Dana and Ryan

Tina- did your troop just do the try its or are you going to do the journey program. We tried that last year for daisys and it wasn't well revceived. I'm leaning towards just the try its.

Last year we only did the petals, but this year we're doing both the try its and the journey program. You can easily interchange them. Also I heard that starting this generation they will need the journey programs in order to earn the bronze award.

If you get the journey book it has some easy programs that can be linked in with the try its. i can't wait to start working on them!! do you camp with your troop?

90 degrees here today-I am melting! We went to a kids' concert this am and it was ridiculous. Quick afternoon shower and it's literally like a sauna outside rght now. Gross. It's not even like this in WDW!

Hi Lorrie! If they let me back, I think they'll let anyone back!;) I hope that you all are feeling better! our WDW dates are close. When are you there?

Since they posted the Nov hrs, I have our tentative agenda. One thing I hate is that we don't get to MK and to see the castle until our 5th full day! Then, it's MK 2 days in a row. I had it slated for our first full day, but we are going to avoid the MVMCP crowd on that day (we opted not to do it). We avoid parks on the extra hours days, we have to go to MK on Nov 25 because we are getting bday FPs, and there are some days that the schedule shows no Fantasmic, so I built our sched around that. We usually only stop down for 3 big meals a trip, but since we are adding a day to this trip, I may add Coral Reef for lunch at Epcot on one day. I am going to go thru w/drawls not going to the castle to eat w/the princesses. We voted as a family, and decided to skip it this time. Of course, everything is subject to change until Aug 21, when I call to make my ADRs:rolleyes1:

your schedule looks good. My friends laugh when I take out my spreadsheet with my plans. I'm sad this trip because we have always gone to Ohana for dinner the first night we get there and this time I couldn't get reservations so we're not going! I'm very sad about it!:( It's been a 5 year tradition!
