The title says pretty much everything. lol. We're looking to go to Universal this fall and want to stay in either a hotel with kitchen, living, bedroom type of suite or rent an airbnb.

What are the best options close to the park?

Close proximity to Universal is high on the priority and it needs at least a little mini kitchen (sink, microwave, fridge) if not a full kitchen. Sleeping 4 is fine. Pool is a must. What budget friendly options do we have? I'm super familiar with what's close to Disney, but not so much Universal.

Thanks!!

Not sure if Orange County allows many Airbnbs; only certain zoning (R3?) is allowed to have them, according to some info I found. In the city of Orlando, owners can rent rooms but not entire houses and must remain on the property during the rental.

You'll have to look for a hotel/timeshare.

I'm totally cool with a hotel/timeshare. Just looking for some people's experiences for what is good in that area

Love the sunshine resort. We did a timeshare points trade there. If you see that for a rental for a good price, it's great. I think they do retail rentals by the night too, but that would cost more. Universal is just down the road a little way. Sites like booking.com and expedia.com do retail rentals. Not sure if Bluegreen does. Here is the BlueGreen website that shows some amenities. That one is listed on Expedia for $65/night for the days we want to go. That seems like an incredible price. Are they going to make is sit through a time share presentation or something? It doesn't say that on the listing, but... just checking. lol

Cabana Bay family suite rooms have a mini kitchen and it's on property. Has a great pool. I would stay there if visiting Universal.

If looking to save more money, Drury Inn rooms have a fridge, microwave plus the resort offers free breakfast and an evening kickback with enough food that it could be dinner. It's couple of miles away and an easy drive. We have stayed there many times for short Universal visits.

As far as I know there are no super-close timeshare resorts. The closest are in the SeaWorld area about 15-20 minutes away. The would include Marriott Grande Vista, Marriott Harbour Lake, Sheraton Vistana Villages and Floridays

I would think that if it's Expedia or Booking.com that you wouldn't do a timeshare presentation (you definately don't want to do one of those.) Sounds like an incredible deal. Maybe bargains are being offered due to reduced vacationers in Orlando for COVID-19??

Oh and per google maps the resort about a six minute drive from Universal. I just plugged that in

The Sunshine resort is a great condo timeshare choice for Universal (six minutes away) -- Bluegeen. I put in the google maps direction in the previous post.

Vista Cay is very close to Universal - we've stayed there twice. We stayed in a 3BR condo both times but I believe they have townhouses too. We booked on VRBO.
