My wife and I were going to pull the trigger on this on Monday and didn't know about the referral.

They are offering us the $8 discount per point plus giving us whatever 2005 points we would have if we had purchased last year to bank into our points beginning in June 2006.

SO - would anyone be interested in helping us out as a referrer?

I'm not sure what details I'd need to give DVC (if anyone wants to give me a heads up about the referral process I'd be really appreciative!). You can PM me or email us.

DJ - very nervous! In fact, I still remind myself we did the right thing. I know financially we really did, or I would never have went through with it, but I figure if I didn't wonder and second guess then I would have just rushed into it. Had a great trip to Disney with my family earlier this year and decided to make the move to purchase at SSR.

Based on the time of year we would like to go (2br) it look like we should buy 285 points. Do you recommend buying exactly what you plan to use or is more or less better for some reason?

I have been told to see if I could get a name of an existing member in order to receive a further discount is there anyone who would be willing to just give me their name and location. You can e-mail me. I was told that you also get some type of recognition for "sponsoring a newcomer".

Welcome! You will get a lot of great info on this board. My suggestion would be to talk to a guide and find out how many points you'll need based on travel dates, etc. Remember that you can bank and borrow so you may not need so many points per year. I just returned from SSR last night and did another add-on. My guide is great and I'd be happy to give you his name and number. Right now they are offering a friends and family discount if you have a members name. 83.30 per point. Pm me if you want more info.

Been lurking here for a while, researching this whole DVC thing. We've decided to take the plunge and buy into SSR.
We've ended up going to Disney every year since our oldest daughter was born (6 years ago!). Now that we're expecting our fourth child, DVC is looking pretty good. Not very many other places we can stay without getting two rooms!
Can someone email or PM me their info so I can get the referal discount?
