Happy to help a new member get in at a great price. Just send me a PM.

I would also be happy to offer a referral to any new member.

Hopefully those that contacted me can get the deal and save some money. We do not get the refferal bonus but that is not a big deal especially knowing we were able to help somone esle realise the dream of DVC and save a good bit of money at the same time.

Hey everyone!

I know there are already a lot of people who have already posted this, but I would be happy to refer anyone as well. Just drop me a line. I am not sure if I would get anything or not (we just moved to Texas and I don't know what the regs are here), but I would be happy to help someone else get a great price.

Wow!!! That $83.30 is a great deal!! I was confused, though....I thought someone said with a referral, you only had to buy 120 point minimum for new members....I just misunderstood!!

120 points is the minimum purchase for existing members to get the 15% discount but referrals will be "welcomed home" with a minimum purchase of 150 points. If I'm misquoting I'm sure someone will correct me but I believe that's the deal. Annmarie

If you do join through Disney and do the financing they offer, do you also get the other incentives they are offering?? When we were there in Oct. the offered $1200.00 down payment assistance. Would we qualify for the $1200.00 down payment and the discount?? If so, that may make us do the financing option. Really don't want to finance, but this could make a difference. Thanks for any info.!! :wave2:

The new offering is a 15% discount - yes it would affect the downpayment. It is really similar to what you were offered - just a larger discount. (Instead of $8 per point, this turns out to be even more). Otherwise it would work the same way as what you discussed recently.

Enjoy!

Ok, here is some math. Lets say you buy 150 points. The points cost 98/per point giving you a total of $14700. Now your down payment (saying you put down the 20% they recommend) would be $2940. Now they give you the point difference towards your down payment so what they would take off your down payment would be 2205 ($14.70 x 150), leaving you to come up with $735.

Hope that helps some!

sorry to say that your wrong cobbler i just got in on the new deal 83.30
i got 175 points i had to put down $1715
what they do now is take the 98 dollars times it by the points you got
say 175 it comes to 17,150 so i had to put down 1,715
for a 150 points you will put down 1,470

I would also be willing to refer a new DVC member if anyone else is still looking for one. I am in a state where I can receive the referral bonus and would be willing to split it with the new owner. Just drop me a line if your interested...

OK, now I'm really confused :confused3
WebmasterDoc stated that the discount is given up front as far as the amount of down payment if I'm understanding correctly.

Pluto implies that 10% is the down payment on their point package if I'm understanding Pluto correctly.

Here is my question, sorry if I'm just not getting it through my thick skull.
1. If we bought in the 150 point package, what amount would we be financing and what amount would be the down payment??

2. Can we use a credit card to put down more than the minimum required? (if so I could use my Disney Visa and rack up some rewards)

Thanks again. Sorry gang if I'm a little slow just want to clarify before we call tomorrow. :wave2:

For 150 points your out-of-pocket expense would be $1,470.00. DVC requires at least a 10% out-of-pocket.

And yes, you can pay as much as you want on a credit card and finance the rest.

If you did the minimums, you'd be looking at

14,700 (98.00 x 150pts)
-2,205 (15% discount)
-1,470 (required downpayment)
= 11,025.00 (amount to be financed)

I'd be more then happy to refer someone to DVC so they could get the discount!! Just send me a PM.
If I had the money I'd add on to the points I already have. Our home resort is the Boardwalk and I love being that close to Epcot. It's our favorite park

After lurking on the DIS for some time, this is my first post.

We just bought into SSR this month and our closing is scheduled for mid-November.

Called my guide this morning and we can take advantage of the new promo as a re-write (even though paperwork has been returned and purchase price paid). Need to call back with the name and phone number of a referring member.

Please send me a pm if anyone would like to refer me.

Thanks!

Vascubaguy has it calculated correctly. Thinking that we would eventually do an add-on to our recent purchase, we couldn't resist this offer! Saturday we zipped down to DL to do a 140-point add-on (and perhaps a re-write of our original contract from early September), and our Guide, Tommy, explained it the same way:
140 Points @ $98 = $13720 (Minimum add-on, 120; Referred New Member, 150)
10% Downpayment = -1372 (Required minimum; can be on credit card.)
15% Incentive = -2058 (Uncle Walt's/ Mickey's 'gift')
Amount Financed = $10290

Disney picks up closing costs. Payment by direct debit lowers interest rate by 1%. An additional benefit of direct debit payment: annual MF can be included so fees are paid monthly instead of all at once.

Alas, our original purchase did close before our visit, so no rewrite, but we were still happy to increase our points at this terrifice rate!
