Our guide told us that we would receive 75 points for 2005 (if we purchase 150 points with a June use year) I thought that we would get the full year of extra points. also if we vacation in June every year is June the appropriate month to choose . If you purchase 150 points you should get 150 2005 points and then 150 in June 2006 unless they changed the use year month to get them. Ask what use year month you would need to get the 150 points. Maybe its only for later months but with my add on I got the points and my use year is April. Maybe its different with add ons.

hmmmmm....... , we purchased 200 pts. in December with an August UY, and received the full 200 (2005) points, plus our upcoming 2006 points. I agree, see if the UY makes a difference. Bob

The rule is ::

If an existing member wants the F&F incentive...They GET the full amt of '05 points.

If a newbie wants the F&F incentive...They get half the '05 points.

I was going to post the same thing. A co-worker was thinking of joining so I asked the same question. Unfortunately, they have decided to wait a while before taking the plunge.

Our friends are buying into DVC with an August use year and are getting the full August 2005 points in addition to August 2006 points. They talked to their guide today and he gave them that information. They are new owners. Not sure why some are being offered half their point allotment and others are getting all their points????

It is just semantics.

My guide kept telling me about "half a year" "free" points, too. What they are talking about is the difference of dues being on a calender year, while points are a "fiscal" year - so you DO get all 2005 point, then all 2006 points in August '06, but only get August 2005 - January 2006 without paying dues thus " half a year" (6 months) "Free".

Only 11 months of dues will need to be paid for 2006 points.

Okay, I read back just a little further...

I looked into a June UY and was told that I could do June but it would be outside the 100% banking window and thus could only bank 50% (i.e. - 75 of 150 points). Not sure if this was part of the confusion. Again, the full complement of 2005 points has always been offered to me, a newbie, even when I was shopping in Dec.

I sent back our paperwork friday and I talked to quality assurance on saturday and she told me I had UY of Aug and I said yes and she said I had 150 pts from 05 to either bank or book real soon, I ask about booking for June and she said to call tuesday and book and someone would tell me how to handle the rest of pts not used. so I firmly believe I got the whole 150 pts for 05

There is now a banking window to consider....

June UY is 6mos. under ...you cant bank 100%.
Aug UYs are beyond 6 mos..so you can bank 100%
If you change your UY to August...you can bank 100%!

When we bought, we were told that in the first year they waive the banking deadlines and you can bank or use all your points as needed. One time only. We were able to bank more than half after the "deadline."

I just took the tour of SSR Sunday Jan 29th. Right now they are offering new members $1200 credit or more off and 150+ points (depends on points purchased) instantly since our phase of SSR will not be completed until Aug '06.
During our trip we talked to many members and that is why we decided to take the tour. Unfortunately we did not get their names. Our guide said if we got a referral it would be worth our time. Since reading this post now I understand, 15% off. So I need a current dvc members name because we are joining the club tomorrow Feb 1st '06. If I receive a lot of names I will give all of them as my referral.
