Looking for a good Wii workout game

I do have the Wii Fit BUT have since found out that I weigh too much for it to work. So I cannot use that as of yet.

I had the EA Sports Active? Couldn't use that either because my stupid thigh was too big to use the leg strap.

Thing is....I like the way that the Wii is interactive with you and would like to find a good workout game for the Wii that would be good for the "very overweight". Granted, I cannot workout for 30-60 minutes right now due to my size but I am commited to start and do as much as I can until I build up enough strength to go further.

I have other regular workout DVD's at home already (but not for the Wii) I have a couple Weight Watcher ones and some Walk Away the Pounds. They're okay, but I was hoping to find one that is interactive like the Wii.

I found one on Amazon (although it doesn't come out until Jan 12th that I might like) It's called Walk it Out. It looks like it might be similar to a Walk Away the Pounds video, except this is interactive. I will definately try this one.

But I'm wondering if anyone can give me a list of different Wii workout games other than Walk it Out, that don't require the balance board? Thanks so much.

My DH was happy with the Biggest Loser Jillian's Wii exercise routine. After about 7 months he got bored with it, but I would think that would be the case using the same exercise routine over time.:)

How about trying Your Shape wiht Jenny McArthy. I am about to try it out this morning so I can't say how it works yet but I ahve heard great things. It has a camera that tracks your movement so nothing to stand on or to wear special.

Will you let us know how you like it, I just got it through Houseparty but haven't had time to open it yet.

I have one called Cardio Workout (or something like that) that is boxing. I also have Yourself Fitness, but I haven't opened it yet, so not sure how much you have to use the board.

Yu might consider posting this question on the WISH board/thread. I know that there are some reviews of the Biggest Loser wii workout. I just got this for x-mas and am eager to try it, but am waiting until after the baby is here....

IMO, My Fitness Coach is the best on the market and is actually probably one of the cheapest, if not the cheapest.

By the same developer as My Fitness Coach (UBI Soft - and they always have impressive games, IMO) is, Gold's Gym Cardio Workout. It gets really good reviews, but I've not purchased it yet. Again, one of the cheaper fitness games on the market.

Hi Maslex! Kudos to you for your determination!!

I saw that Walk-it-out and it looks pretty good. I have the Biggest Loser wii game and it can be used without the balance board - it's fun and interactive and a good workout!

I'm pretty sure the game N.Bailey is talking about is the one with Maya as your personal trainer. I have that for PS2 and yes it is awesome! You can schedule your workouts in 15 minute increments and set your level of fitness.

Hope that helps!!

Really? I hate My Fitness Coach, it's not interactive at all to me, you might as well be doing a DVD. And I swear if I have to watch that chick pick at her clothes and 'find a beat' one more time I'll throw my remote through the TV!
I guess we all have different personalities though and what works for one might not work for others.

I *heart* EA Sports, I feel like I'm getting a real workout. OP if you still have it, my DD can't stand the strap and sticks the nunchuck upside down in her pocket. Works fairly well for her.

That's funny because I can't stand EA Sports. I think they are the worst developer in the world and they don't care about putting out a quality product. They only care about making as much money as they possibly can. I don't say this in referencing fitness programs only though, I say this from their long history in the video game industry. They put a little expansion pack into their game, then they release it all over again slapping the next $60 price tag on it. Well, what's a parent to do when their kids are screaming for it? You cave in, but do hold grudges. There are few hardcore gamers that will buy anything EA Sport anymore because of their practices. We're not hardcore in my family, but I too gave up on them years ago (aside from Pogo). Even at that, I've been a member at Pogo for 4 or 5 years and I've never once spoken to anyone who has won money on that site. I've not even spoken to anyone who has ever spoken to anyone who has won (lol - did you follow that). I personally do not believe they pay out anything. One person once said they won a small amount (under $100), but 8 to 10 weeks later, they still hadn't gotten the check for that tiny amount. I of course am not going there to win any jackpot that I feel are nonexistent.

Having said that, I want to state that 461 people have reviewed My Fitness Coach on Amazon's site alone. Of those, 275 gave it 5 stars, 119 gave it 4 stars, 37 gave it 3 stars, 15 gave it 2 stars, and 15 gave it 1 star. OP, if you don't want to purchase it, try renting it to see what you think.

Oh, I'm not saying it's a bad game, I'm saying I don't like it. Not slamming others who do. The OP did say she didn't want DVDs and I found it quite DVD like.

As to EA Sports, I got the More Sports and so far find it totally different then the first one. Not defending them, heck, I'm not a gamer, just my experience.

EA Sports just gets me to no end. Sorry if my post sounded like I was trying to slam you in anyway at all. I do admit that over the years, they have put out some good games, but after hundreds upon hundreds of dollars for crap, I've just been burned to a point where I won't buy anything from them anymore.

I will be tucking this away for future reference and make sure to really research well before I buy anything more from them. :thumbsup2
