looking at Google Earth

I was checking out Google earth the other day trying to figure out a walking route from DHS to ESPN on the Boardwalk. We want to take a break from the parks and go someplace other than 50's Prime Time for lunch during our HS day.

My question is this: Is that big thing in front of the Yacht Club a pool or a fountain? My husband thinks it's a pool because the water is the same color as the pools but I think it's one of those fountains like at the Bellagio in Vegas. There are no people in it on the Google earth picture and if it were a pool you would definitely see people in it. Also fountains are filtered and the fountain water is usually chlorinated just like a pool. So Which is it?

Could it be the waterslide? It looks like a shipwreck on the south edge of the pool area.

The Yacht Club shares a large pool complex with the Beach Club, so if you are looking at a large body of water outside of the lake, then it is the pool complex. No Disney resort has a Bellagio-style fountain system.

It's a pool that YC/BC share.

P.S., I know you can walk from DHS to ESPN, but did you know that they offer a boat service?? It's a really nice ride........and your feet will get a little rest.

OK I am laughing at myself as I have totally misread the whole thread 3 times.:rotfl: Maybe I will get the answer right this time. That is SAB at the YC/BC share.
:flower3:

What do you mean by "in front of"? If you are referring to the little pool that is just off the beach, that is the area for SAB's small waterslide. The Yacht Club also has a quiet pool on the west side of the resort near the tennis court, while the Beach Club has a quiet pool near its most Eastern end facing the beach. Unless I am forgetting something, there's no fountain of any consequence that I can think of.

I believe you are talking about Stormalong Bay, the huge 3 acre swimming pool that is shared by the BC, YC and BCV. You can see pictures of it over on the Yacht and Beach Club thread. The first page has loads of information and pictures of the resort.
