My husband and some of his fellow union workers played extras during two Soprano episodes. The filming took on a construction site (at a Clifton school, New Jerseyites) last fall.

One of the guys who filmed the shows with my husband called us yesterday to say that he thinks the episodes they're in start tonight.

If DH is in it, he'll be one of the construction workers in the background. He'll be pushing a wheelbarrel or carrying wood, and he's a big, blonde guy.

We plan to watch it ourselves tonight, and if it turns out that this is one of the shows, I'll report back with a description of him so you can spot him. If this is the show, he should be in next week's episode as well.

Too bad he didn't get to be an extra in a Bada Bing scene;)

That is awesome!

I'm a Soprano's fan...i watch it every Sunday...

I'll keep a look-out....

Pretty exciting for you and yours!

I'll be looking for him!

I've never watched the Sopranos but that's cool that your husband gets to be on it!

I didn't know that they did filming by a Clifton school, which one was it?

I remember spring of 2002 they did filming by one of the middle schools (where our practices were held). They were filming by one of the fields across from the school, and I was late to my practice because I couldn't find any parking.

Shuis (is it Dana? :)), DH doesn't remember which school in Clifton it is. I can tell you that it was under construction last summer (2003). DH's episodes were filmed in early September.

The real construction work was stopped for the taping. DH and his friends worked 3 consecutive 12 hour days. They "pretended" to work, as they had to walk about and carry things on cue.

They got paid their normal union salary, including overtime for each of the 4 hours over 8 hours each day.

The best part (for my husband, anyway) was that they got eat breakfast, lunch and dinner from the caterers for the set. The food was elaborate and very good, and DH really enjoyed it. (My DH lives to eat!)

His co-workers thought to bring cameras to get pictures and autographs from the Sopranos cast, but since we don't watch the show normally and aren't particularly starstruck people, it didn't occur to us.

And BTW, if there is a joke about "the most famous coinslot in NJ" in regard to a buttcrack showing over pants, that would be my husband's buttcrack. LOL! (His mother is praying they editted that out.)

That's too funny!

I watch the show faithfully and will be looking for your husband's butt, er I mean, you're husband and a wheelbarrow:p

My mother was an extra in last season's courtroom scene (when Junior was on trial). She was just in the background but we did see her. She said it was a lot of fun. She put in an 8-hour day for about 2 seconds of screen time!

Neat! I'll look for him. CONGRATS! :bounce:

We'll watch for him. My Dad was supposed to be in a movie filmed in Vermont a couple of years ago. He "was" a police officer carrying a body out to a cororners van. Never made it in the movie as the scene got cut.:(

There is a diner not too far from here that was supposed to be used in a Soprano's episode. They filmed there but for some reason the scene was cut and never aired. The diner had a couple of pics of some Soprano cast members with the owners of the diner.

I hope you husband has better luck.

How cool! I met your husband with you a couple of years ago, and I vaguely remember what he looked like ... I will keep my eyes peeled! :)

Just finished watching the episode, and then read this thread. That is sooo cool. There were several extras tonight at the construction site--so was he one of them???

You know, Tinkerbelle, he had a black sleeveless T-shirt on one day of the tapings, and I'm pretty sure if that's they guy you mean, it's my hubby.

We neglected to set the VCR this showing. We definitely need a tape of it to put in slow motion to figure out exactly which construction worker is my DH.

He was on there! I'm just not sure which guy or how to describe him to you.
