Longest time you've been stuck on a ride?

Bunch of times

Lets see Pirates but only for 10 min
Splash at the ending before you go and see the riverboat for 15 min ish
Buzz for about 10 min
Haunted Mansion 20 min
IASW 40 min..
Spaceship earth 15 min.

Our most memorable was on our first ride of the revamped Spaceship Earth last December. We were at the top and our car had just turned around to make the descent when we heard a horrible grinding noise and the ride stopped. The worst part was that we were right next to a super loud speaker and a CM kept announcing that they were working on the problem. After 45 minutes (nearly deaf by that time), we ended up having to walk all the way down to the bottom, and the ride was closed for the evening. We weren't able to go back to ride it again, so we still haven't seen the new version :sad2:

We were stuck twice on our honeymoon:

The first time was on Peter Pan's flight - that was AWESOME, we were hanging over London!! It was only for about 10 minutes, but it was really cool to look down and have "London" to ourselves for those few minutes! :woohoo:

The second time was... ugh... It's A Small World. I forced DH on it, telling him it's not WDW without it... so he reluctantly got on the boat, crushed his knees to his chest - then we got stuck in the last part for about 30 minutes. NOT A GOOD TIME! We had to go right over to Carousel of Progress to get that song out of our heads!!!!

But yes, I LOVE getting stuck - just not in a small world! :headache:

We've been stuck in the exact same place on Spaceship Earth!!! But we were only stuck for about 15 minutes or so. The bummer was that we were in the planetarium part and they turned on the lights! So you could see everything on the inside of the globe - totally ruins the magic if you ask me. I wouldn't open my eyes until we started moving again!

I've also been stuck for about 5 minutes on various rides, usually boat rides like IASW or POTC. And we've been stuck many many times on Spaceship Earth, but not for very long.
I'd say 1 of 3 times on that ride we can expect to be stuck for at least 2 minutes. I believe it has something to do with the way they load handicapped guests onto the ride - if they stop the moving platform, the entire ride stops.

We were stuck on Kali for 45 min. They drained the river, while we sat baking in the sun (good thing we were wet)!! It was fun climbing over all the boats to get out! But we were glad to get off.

Stuck on the Adventures of Pooh for 90 minutes surrounded by Tigger. My dd8 lists that as a highlight of our trip....lol.

I actually thought getting stuck was very common. When we were there in September we stopped a few times (almost everytime we rode Toy Story Mania!). The longest on TSM was about 15 minutes. We also got stuck on Splash for about 30 minutes. We were in the Zipity Do Dah room which was fun, but my kids were a little freaked out (5,3). They removed people farther in first. The kids were pretty nervous to get out and stand on the thin side. I kept telling them the water wasn't very deep (although I was thinking pretty dirty!). I was a little nervous myself when they went to pull us to the side. We were on a curve and there was a pretty darn big gap to step across to the edge. I am sitting in between the two kids and was not in a good position to help my DD up. The CM extended a hand to dd and I had to tell him, uh she is only 3, you have to really help her, so he lifted her across. He was sort of waiting for her to step across and I am thinking - buddy that space is longer than her body! The kids plastered themselves to the wall as we walked out. My DS didn't ride again but my DD was ready to go right away (it is her favorite ride).

Ok reading this freaks me out. I got stuck on rock n roller coaster right before it took off. I have this thing that when I get stuck somewhere, I freak out. So here I am freaking out. My son is laughing at me. I manage to get my valium out of my backpack and take it just when they pulled us back and made us get off. I now have my valium in my pocket, ready to pop.

I was stuck on the monorail for an hour on new years eve. It was packed to the gills I was right by the door and I felt a breeze coming from outside and I thought the door was just about to bust open

My GF and I got stuck on Dinosaur once. It was during one of the pitch black parts. Everything just shut down. The jeep kept rumbling, but otherwise, we were just sitting there. It was only for about 2 minutes, but it was SCARY! :scared1:

Hey, has anyone ever been stuck on Tower of Terror? What would happen if right when you "drop" the ride shut off, like Dinosaur did for me?!

Buzz Lightyear! It was awesome! I wracked up all 9's across the scoreboard! :rotfl2:Like that would ever happen without getting stuck in the ride!

In December my sister and I got stuck on it's a small world for 10 mins. It was horrible. Listening to that song over and over again.

during MVMCP in 2007 we got stuck on POTC for an hour and 10 minutes!!! imagine hearing "yo ho, yo ho a pirate's life for me" over & over for that long.. it drove us crazy. we got a FP to come back but after that my DH wouldn't step foot in the line. :confused3 to this day, i still love it though!

I got stuck on Dinosaur for a long time. They turned on the lights ,that was pretty cool!

I always hope there are a lot of handicapped people riding Buzz when I am as bad as it sounds. I love when it stops so I can rack up points!

I love getting stuck!

Back in 1998 we got stuck on It's A Small World for around 20 minutes. It was horrible, I had the song stuck in my head longer than usual! :scared1:

Just wondering for those you were stuck for over an hour, did they somehow tell you that you were going to be stuck for a while or did you just sit there unknowing.

I was stuck on Thunder Mountain though the ride was not stuck. It was early in the morning and only one track was being used. I do now walk or stand so my husband lifted me into the last row and I rode with my daughter. He was waiting on the track we left from with my wheelchair ready to help me unload. Well, you guessed it we came back on the opposite track. DD and I rode again while DH ran my wheelchair over to track 2. Then we came back and low and behold we were back on track 1 though DH and wheelchair were now on track 2. So around again we went. The next time we pulled into track where DH was and he lifted me out of the ride into the wheelchair.

Usually I love getting stuck, and I love it even more if we have to be evacuated from the ride (my favorite was walking down the stairs from the highest point of Primeval Whirl), but there was one exception to that. DD (about 14 at the time) and I got stuck on the TTA, just outside of Space Mountain, in a horrible thunderstorm with high winds and lightening strikes all around, and a sideways driving rain. Luckily we had our umbrellas, so we held them sideways to protect us from the pelting rain, but we were on there for roughly 30 minutes. Finally a CM came to get us - we had to get out in the rain and walk the track, then take a set of exposed stairs down that came out under the track between SM and the arcade/gift shop. We made a run for the gift shop and waited the storm out in there with a squillion other people, while hubby and my parents were waiting for us over at (what was at the time) the Plaza Pavilion. All told, the whole thing took about 90 minutes. Not fun!
