Long term room planning for family harmony

Crazy is crazy on steroids where Disney and timeshares are concerned. We plan a family vacation most years, most recently with 51 people this past summer and routinely 34-43. I decide when we're going and who to invite based on available info. Usually that's week 26 or 27 when most are out of school (kids & teachers). I get accommodations and start inviting. This past summer we had 7 two BR on the beach at HHI. My rules for villas are one couple per bedroom, no couples or older than young adult on pullouts. Since a 2 BR plus studio is cheaper and gives more separation, I'd do the 2 BR plus studio and that option opens you up to all resort possibilities and various 2 BR options including lockoff's.
Wow! thats alot of rooms and people!!!

May 20-25...2017 we had 2-- 2bd rm sv. and p/g view at the BWV....they were across the hall from each other....DH and I stayed in the studio and gave DS and wife and adult sons the 1 bd rm..
across the hall was DD and hubby and their 6 adult kids....in the future I would like to put some of them in a studio...but we had no points left..so did the best we could...they do not complain and are grateful for even a pull out sofa to be at Disney..

We sometimes hit the parks together for awhile..../do pool time...have ADR's a few nites....14 for dinner at Marakeesh and 14 at Tratorria al forno...

During multiple family vacations, I always book multiple studio rooms one for each family. That way each family has a space to get away too. If you want the larger room for family together time why not get a 1-bedroom and two studios, we have also done this for a three family get together.

I have thought about that, but isn't it less points to book the 2-BR plus one studio?

We have confirmed 15 people with another 10 possible. This is what we have:
-Family 1 - 2 adults, 1 child (7)
-Family 2 - 2 adults, 1 pre-teen (12)
-Family 3 - 2 adults, 2 adult children (18 and 20)
-Family 4 - 2 adults
-Mom and Aunt
-One additional child (age 5)

I can't decide what to do with all these people. We're currently planning for breakfast and dinner in the room. I currently have booked a GV and will add a studio, but I'm thinking that we'd be better off with 2 studios - for families 3 and 4. One of the kids from family 3 can join one of the other rooms to have more space. Leaving, Families 1, 2, and Mom and Aunt with extra child in the GV. Then I start wondering if we'd really be better off with 2 two bedrooms and 1-2 studios. It would use less points and provide even more privacy.

I'd do a 2 BR plus 3 studios either at OKW, BLT, SSR or AKV kidani if it were I for the ones noted above. Maybe an additional 2 BR and another studio if you add more. I'd reserve a 2 BR and 3 studios if you can do so without extra borrowing which is unlikely. I'd likely do the GV plus additional studios if you know you're going to have more than the 15 though.

I won't lie, the GV is pretty awesome. But, it's also pretty pricey. I agree with Dean. If it's just the 15 people, I would probably go with 1 2BR and 2 studios to save points/money. If you plan on eating dinner in the 2BR you will need to supplement the dishes/cutlery/etc because there isn't enough for 15 people. If you end up adding more people, then the GV makes more sense as a BIG hangout place for everyone. So, I wouldn't let that go until you know about your extras.
