**London DIS Meet!

......... Joe aka Profdsny is coming over from Chicago with his DW and so we are having a meet on Sunday 7th December - the time : midday, the place : The Flask in Hampstead Village, which I am reliably informed is close to Hampstead tube.

I am completely unfamiliar with this pub (and Hampstead) so going on recommendation (No pressure Joanne and Shaun )

Joe would love to meet as many of us as can make it

I've been "forced" to go and do a recce of the pub tonight to check out suitability for food, kids etc.

I may just have to sample some of the fine beverages on offer while I'm there.

Shucks! - It's a tough job but someone has to do it! - LOL

I'll report back tonight with my findings.


Oh - it's completely the opposite direction to where i live so can someone please tell Alison that I'll late home tonight!

Did try for a swift half but........


....Due to the tube train crash - no services past Euston on the Northern line.


Replacement bus service in place but at just gone 5pm it'd be HEAVING!


I have other options to consider this week - I have a meeting In Whitehall on friday - so I could travel up after the meeting and still be back in time for tea!

Sounds exciting. Except for the tube crash part. Other than that.... I'm looking forward to the meet, and of course, a full report before hand. Just showed DW the post, and she said you people all sound so nice. I know you are. Anyhow, will keep watching this post for further info.

I hope to make the meet to see Joe. I will probably drive down on the Sunday morning. Anybody know what the parking situation is near to the pub, and is it within the London traffic thingy where you need to pay to get into London?

I think it's out of the charging zone as it only relates to Central London. From memory, parking could be a nightmare. I'll check this for you when I have a nose around.

Thanks Bonzo and Shirley i am really lookinng forward to seeing you guys too.

Inregards to parking in that area there is pay and display spaces around the pub area and also near the hampstead heath's entrance there is a free car park which might be a 10 min walk away from the pub, spaces are limited but it might be worth having a look cos you can stay as long as you like.
