**London DIS Meet!

Our intrepid investigator went on his fact-finding mission and came back with the following report :teeth: I understand he is recovering well from his ordeal -

PUB: The pub is small (read - tiny!) but should be ok to fit us all in.

UNDERGROUND: It is close to Hampstead tube and we are hoping the tube will be fully operational by the time of the meet. Right now, you have to take the Northern Line and get off at Warren Street and catch the replacement bus service - one every minute - to Hampstead. (Due to the carriage derailment some days ago).

CARS: Parking may be tricky although the the "Resident only" restrictions apprently don't apply on Sundays. Shaun advises that the wardens are very hot in this area. (I saw a car-park on the map I looked at, which may be a walk away, but might be where we'll aim for).

KIDS: All ok up 7:30 PM so for lunchtime will be fine.

FOOD (1) : They have a 40 seat Conservatory restaurant - good basic home made food. No kids meals in evidence.

Shaun has kindly tentatively booked 12 seats for Sunday in his name, but not given a firm time.

FOOD (2): There is also a McDonalds next to Hampstead Underground or Pizza Express going towards Belsize Park near the Royal Free Hospital plus other restaurants in the vicinity if the children or their parents prefer!

BOOZE: It's a YOUNG's Pub! - Yipeee! - nuff said! (Quote from Shaun :teeth: )

Thank you Shaun for this great info!

Tim,

I think it's out of the charging zone as it only relates to Central London. From memory, parking could be a nightmare. I'll check this for you when I have a nose around.

Congestion charge only applies Monday to Friday anyway :)

........ time for a bumperooni methinks :teeth: !!

How about 12noon for the meet? Since the pub is small, we need to get a corner for ourselves before the locals!!

Alison and Shaun, I hope the girls are coming too :) !!

Is everyone still okay for December 7th?

Looking good for us Shirley. We have booked a hotel in Brent Cross for Sunday night. It's only a couple of stops on the tube from the pub, so should be quite handy.

Tam looked at the map and worked out that it's very close to Brent Cross Shopping Centre. Doh!

Looking forward to annoying ... er ... I mean seeing you all soon.

Kev

Yes Shirley - the girls are coming too!

As you may have read elsewhere, we are bring Emily, our 11yo. She is anxious to meet some kids from there, so the more the merrier. She is well versed in Disney, so can talk freely with any age. We are taking all the tips into our plan, and are excited about the meet, and the trip. We have Thanksgiving this thursday, then it's time to begin packing.

I really hope I can make it there.

I am going to see Eddie Izzard Saturday night in Brighton and have boked a hotel to stay the night there.I will try to leave a bit earlier and drive straight to the pub.It probably won't be at 12 but I'll still do my best to get there!

Is this a "regulars" meet or are lurkers welcome too?
(Kevin pointed me in the direction of this board so the fault is his entirely ! ;)

Yes we are still coming and i will be bringing Alara my daughter too she can't speak yet but it is best to start her young;)

Kevin Brent Cross is my local shopping centre i am sure Tammy will want a look around all the stores are there.

Duchy everyone is welcome :) ! Look forward to meeting you :) !

Looks like DS is gonna have his pick of the girls LOL!!

Kev look forward to meeting you again.
The only thing that is bothering me is as im a moderate to severe asthmatic,i suffer terribly where people smoke, epecially pubs,so I apologise in advance for the amount of coughing I will be doing, and perhaps one of you needs to practise the CPR thingy just in case LOL!!!

Shaun, not knowing London that well, would it be easier for us to stop off at a train station outside of London, park and train it in?,or Drive in and park near the pub??

Have a great time guys, we won't be able to make it as we'll be on our way to meet Mickey and Co (and Fantasia Sam for Drinks Round the Monorail!!!!)

I am sure you'll have a ball!!

Jules,

I did check the pub out but it's NW London and I live SE London - i.e. not really my neck of the woods.

I did notice a lot of "Resident only" parking bays, but that doesn't apply on a Sunday.

The underground station was in easy walking distance, so if you can anywhere near one to park up or get to a station to connect with the underground may be easier.

The pub is quite small, so if it's too smoky we can decamp to another child friendly one within walking distance.

Just a reminder that I'll see you all Sunday, or at least as many as can make it. I'm really looking forward to it. We'll be the ones in all the foul weather gear.

Joe, I hope you have a wonderful trip to the UK, and I'm sure you'll all have a great time at the meet :teeth:

sorry we won't be able to make it this time Joe :(
Hope you have a wonderful trip and your DD enjoys her show :)

Have a good time everyone :):sunny:
