Locking in prices before an increase

My understanding is if I book a vacation package, it will lock in the resort and ticket prices to their current rates even if prices for my dates increase later. However, if I later make any changes to the reserved package, the price WILL increase to whatever the current prices are at the time I make the changes - is that right?

For example: I book a package now for next November. In January, resort and ticket prices are increased. In April, I decide I want to shorten my November package by a number of days. If I do that, will my resort and ticket prices change to the amounts that were set in January?

In the past that has been correct info - if you make changes after a price increase, your reservation will modify to the current prices. Resorts rates don't typically change once announced, though I won't say never. Recent years have had a ticket price increase in February -- whether WDW will modify prices for 2021 or leave them as-is is anyone's guess at this point.

Also be aware that as counter-intuitive as it sounds, it can be difficult to just drop days from a reservation. Generally the new dates must be available as a new reservation; Guest Services can override it, but that's not always a given. And particularly if you have a special offer rate, you may lose the rate if you modify dates.

Thank you! And especially thank you for the note about dropping days not being as easy as it sounds. I never would have guessed that, but not surprising that Disney manages to make even that simple ask complicated.
