Lobster Roll.........Columbia Harbour House

Let's just say New England seafood is not Disney's forte'.
CHH lobster rolls were just not good, and the clam chowder had an overpowering bacon flavour; straight to the trash, but their tuna sandwich was very good.
Suckers for punishment, we tried the lobster roll at Captain Cook's at the Poly where we paid more for another epic fail.
Here's a Massachusetts roll...

Everyone except New Englanders seem to like it. My wife likes it (I'm allergic or I'd weigh in).

I don't think it's reasonable to expect regional specialty cuisine from any place at WDW, much less the CS locations. If you're from any place that is famous for the best (fill in the blank) in the U.S., order something else.:confused3

Just for the record, they used to offer this during F & W festival a few yrs. ago at the American Adventure small kiosk. When we went in 2014, sadly it wasn't on the menu anymore...Perfect way to use up a snack credit on the dining plan...:thumbsup2

I got one at that kiosk at the 2015 F&W. It must have been such a huge hit, that they brought it back. Hope they keep it too, I enjoyed it!

They weren't fighting words. I think I was saying the same thing you were, just with a more positive spin. i.e. If you aren't from New England, you'll probably like it. For the record though, you can get a pretty decent approximation of my region's speciality at Flame Tree if you don't ruin it by adding sauce.

It's no where near as good as a proper New England Lobster Roll but, I still think it's better than the Vulcanized meat, (or whatever) patty that most fast food places call a Hamburger.

Have had some wonderful lobster rolls at WDW (Food & Wine and Captain's Grill) but the one at CHH ........ it was so bad I didn't finish and threw it away. ALOT of mayo and bread. I don't throw away food lightly, disappointed.

If this is what it's like, my dh isn't going to be thrilled. That's a very 'wet' roll. Not like what I saw at Food and Wine years ago.

This is the lobster roll I remember from years ago, at the American pavilion during Food and Wine. I'm not a lobster person, but my friend said it was incredible!!! I'm hoping that my dh will find a similar one in November at Columbia Harbor House. He's a huge seafood person.

Always was a must have at Food & Wine which is why I ordered it. I also enjoy the one at Captains Grille. Fluke or not there is no way I want to order at CHH again. It was LOTS of mayo, and it was wet as you say.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll be sure to let dh know what he's getting into!!

picture worth 1000 words.. YUCH... mayo all over the place and celery. It probably is not lobster but the imitation seafood salad. Lobster roll is pure lobster with little butter. ok two things never eat in wdw Pizza and lobster roll.. Thanks for the picture hopperfan

I ordered it at CHH based on the same assumption - it would be similar to the F&W version a couple of years ago. Sadly no. The CHH version is not good. I wouldn't order it again.

I liked it! It wasn't ANYTHING like that first picture someone posted! Yuck! This one had way less mayo. Way more lobster. Maybe not those scrumptious New England rolls but decent for Disney QS.

Yea that Picture, kinda looks pretty gross if you ask me...:crazy2::sad2:.....It appears that if you'd take a bite, the whole thing would shoot out the other side.... The smaller version was less sloppy, and more tasty...I'm guessin..... Either route I know it's not what I would get up in New England, but for someone from Jersey, it'll suffice...:teeth:
