LL Premier Pass is here!

The pass would cost us 7-15k for 7 days on top of resort+tickets at a deluxe that already are 17k for a family of 5.

Prices thanks@jo-jo

I guess if you wanted to visit more than one park per day with the service, a VIP then financially makes sense as long as you have enough people.
Good point- we did all 4 parks on our VIP tour, and there's no comparison here with LLP.

I suppose a big reason the price needs to be so high isn't that they'd cannibalize VIP tours, it's that they'd cannibalize concessions, restaurants, stuffed animal, toy sales, etc. if they have more guests that are in and out of the parks real quick and singularly jumping from ride to ride. Disney must account for a certain amount of revenue per guest that would be lost when selling a Premier Pass. If the goal is to increase the marginal profit per guest, it has to be priced high enough to offset the negatives AND be worth the extra cost of systems implementations, customer relations interactions, etc.

Good analysis.

My temptation would be to do this at HS and Epcot while staying at Beach Club- just walk over, go on a couple rides, go to the pool, walk back over...

Ok then $2,245 for no re rides at MK is still ridiculous for one day.

They just dropped this on us. We have a trip already booked.
The equivalent Universal express pass would be $1,595 for one day express for a family of 5 at the highest range as well. Its not for the average user. This is for people who wouldn't bat an eye at the price.

Even with a group of ten, you will never be ahead in the math.
$1246 (top price of new pass) plus tax for the 4 parks for a group of 10 is $12,460 before tax.

We have to see what prices are for specific dates but I think its a lot closer. Also an extra $100 per person ($1k more) as an example for all the backstage/secret entrances is a deal as well.

Given the tiny audience that would actually jump on this and not think twice (the top 1% of people staying in Deluxe+ resorts) this seems more like a marketing stunt than anything else but I don't know enough about marketing to understand why this would be received as anything but pandering to the wealthy.
Nope. It will be very popular, probably to the point of selling out on busier days.

Anyone who has used express pass at universal knows what a complete game changer it is for the theme park experience. And plenty of people will overpay for that experience at Disney. I will, 100%. Not for a whole trip but for select days definitely. It will allow me to pay for fewer park days since you can breeze through a park and easily get all the rides in 1 day (or less)

Yes it’s expensive but the whole point is that it’s limited. I totally get why some people would never want it, good to have choices.

I can afford it but it’s still ridiculous for no re rides
Anyone can afford it if you budget for it. But this is meant for people who don't care about prices or value for dollar.
This is for people who like to do VIP tours for skipping lines. Not for the average person.

Fair, but as of now, this isn't designed for all 4 parks. And I would doubt most VIP groups (just from observation) do all 4 parks in a day. Plus, you have to add in another $1,000 in tips for the VIP tour, and of course, you're assuming it's always at the top price point.

There are also massive logistical problems with a group of ten- speaking from experience. ONE person can hold back the entire group. And always, there will be disagreement on who wants to go where. None of that for this new offering.

Universal includes it in their Deluxe level stays so not really equivalent as most people will find a cheaper option that includes hotel accommodations at Universal. Plus a single night gets you two days of the pass at Universal.

I don't think that's the right question. A better question might be: Why anyone would find value in this? And, in my experience there are two possible answers.

One is: "It lets me turn my planning brain off for the day." As the person who Does The Planning, there is a fair amount of work leading up to each day, and then during the day constant adjustment as things don't work out exactly the way I thought they would. This removes all of that work.

The second is: "I have a group who is not good at following directions." This happened to me when we traveled with a second family. They did not "get" the idea of a touring plan, because they'd never done it before. When their kids saw something they wanted to do, they wanted to do it RIGHT THEN, and it took a bit to help the parents understand why that might not be wise. We ultimately followed the plan, but not without some resentment on everyone's part.
The third is: Old people with physical limitations and an inability to use electronics (like us) who would find this very useful. We can't use the phone based bookings very well, cannot stay up late for extra hours and have trouble waiting in long lines. There are only two of us so VIP tours are ridiculously expensive. This would mean a lot to our potential enjoyment of our trip. A busy day in the parks would be 4-5 rides. Many days we have only been able to do 2-3 rides. If we get it, it will mean that we can do more like 4-5 rides most days and may actually be able to ride the main attractions on many days instead of maybe once in a trip.

For a few years before Covid, deluxe club guests were able to purchase 3 extra Fast Passes per day for 3 days. This program was so successful that I believe it gave rise to Genie+.

These Premium LL passes only need a small audience. I think they will be very popular.

Sure if you want to do it on Christmas Day or one of the other handful of top days. I’ve never priced VIP but I’m guessing its price is pretty elevated on those days as well, if you could get even get one.
