If someone is that worried about the weather, being scammed, or ride closures, then please don't buy the pass. Not entirely.
I happened to hear about this while listening to the radio. The DJ's laughed at the pricing.
This has a strong potential to generate negative publicity for WDW.
With this, you can only do each ride once, and can't park hop. The Philarmagic LL is not particularly valuable. In Epcot, most days a number of rides have waits that are 15 min or less, like Nemo and the Land. The Epcot value of this pass is rides like GoG, Rat, and FEA. And that is assuming none of those rides goes down.
Looking right now, FEA is down. The only other ride with a posted wait over 15 min is Soarin', which had a much shorter wait earlier in the day.
And we all know the posted wait times are often inflated.
If someone pays $200+ then sees most of the rides were walk-on/near walk-on, they may well describe the pass as a bit scammy, when they could have bought LLMP instead for a far lower price.
Right now, in Epcot- paying $200 for 3 rides- since FEA is down- would basically be paying $67 per- worthwhile- LL.
During summer storms, a large chunk of AK suspends operations. It is pretty common in the summer. No EE, safari, animal attractions, Kali, and soon no Dinosaur. A family who buys this would only be able to use this on FoP, FotLK, Nemo, Tough tba Bug, and Na'vi for the duration of the storms. They'd have to wait for the storm to pass to use any other entitlements, and that might not happen before 6pm park close.
Does anyone think this will eventually be available to purchase for any Disney World resort guests?
I have found this is happening to me over the past few days! Planning a mid-November trip and was on the fence as to whether to use LLMP/LLSP for a couple of park days . Now it seems like a bargainThis is really clever from TWDC. The price is so outrageous that the hoi polloi will think that their paid LLMP and LLSP are bargains.
That is the problem with how they are doing this. I remember when Genie+ first came out, they expected only 25% of guests to buy it. At that low amount of guests using it, almost every attraction would be available all day.Yes, I expect they will. They start with the most expensive resorts and market it as a perk or incentive to stay there. Then once the Disney bean counters realize how much money they make selling these, they will likely figure out if offered to a wider audience they can pull in more $$$.
I don't anyone yet knows how popular this pricey new ride option will be. Over the years, Disney has tried various things to either increase attendance or revenue or both. Some have worked out, others have not.
They already offer a lower-tier option that is available to all and that provides nearly the same experience (without the added luxury of having complete control over your return time, of course). In my opinion, the only way to mitigate the risk of Lightning Lanes again being overrun with people and defeating their purpose would be to raise the cost of the Premier Pass and to remove the lower-tier passes entirely (outside of the option to purchase ILLs). Otherwise, we'd have the same issues we had pre-DAS changes.
People are already pouring thousands of dollars into their once-in-a-lifetime Disney trips on a daily basis: I have no trouble believing making these available for everyone would be disastrous for wait times.
That is the day we are going to HS also. Staying at Poly. But on my 7 day LLMP/SP booking day, I checked HS and got really good booking times for everything I wanted so now I don’t think I really need it so I don’t know for that day either.I am tempted... We are heading next week for a Halloween week with MNSSHP and Universal Horror. Staying at AKV through 11/1. it becomes available on our last regular park day at Hollywood (Oct 30). According to the cast member I was speaking to this morning (different issues with my 7 day advance) I could get it and use it for that day. Be so nice to wander around doing what we want when we want.
The math gets hard for me when I think I'd be spending $350 for let's say 7 good rides. $50 per ride, at least several of which I would be able to ride with the standard LLMP/LLSP products.I am tempted... In all honesty when you're on vacation who really takes time to price out cost per ride? The math gets hard for me when I think I'd be spending $350 for let's say 7 good rides. $50 per ride, at least several of which I would be able to ride with the standard LLMP/LLSP products.
The freedom from time constraints does have some value though.

At these price points, I think lots of people are, especially when it comes to deciding if this is worth it to you.In all honesty when you're on vacation who really takes time to price out cost per ride?
And those are the people that this pass probably isn’t meant for. I think Disney knows the people who want to purchase this pass will pay for convenience and are not looking at it as a “budget” item.At these price points, I think lots of people are, especially when it comes to deciding if this is worth it to you.

It also depends on how you view a Disney vacation. For us Disney falls into the same category as a Cedar Point vacation. When we price out the Premier pass it's really not that much more than a Cedar Point one.Likely there are some who consider themselves in the 'money is no object' crowd when on vacation who don't care what anything costs. What % of those who go to Disney are in that category, I have NO idea. However, many others likely make choices about WHERE to vacation based on the costs and perceived VALUE they associate with that location.
There will be some people who do purchase this that will think that way though, and will really try to squeeze in every ride they can to get their money’s worth. Rich or poor, it’s human nature for many. And those are the people that this pass probably isn’t meant for. Oh for sure. I can see people trying to get the maximum “value” out of the PP purchase, but the initial purchase to them is likely not based on it being a “financial value”. It’s more of a convenience value. There will be some people who do purchase this that will think that way though, and will really try to squeeze in every ride they can to get their money’s worth. I don’t know. I really think it depends on the person. There are people saying they’d buy it to cut back on park days, and shave a few days off their deluxe resort stay to save money.Oh for sure. I am not buying rides, I'm paying to avoid stress (not just that day but leading up to it) and avoid conflict with my traveling companions resulting from my stress and need to follow a schedule. In terms of rides, I get to still prioritize other people's interests but also ride what I want to. I am frugal overall but spend money to avoid stress and be kind to myself, and feel grateful that I can afford to.Oh for sure.
