We left for Norwich airport at about one in the afternoon (a 10 minute drive away) had already checked in from home which was very easy, printed out our boarding cards and knew our seat numbers, only a small plane with rows of four seats.
Checked in our luggage then went through to the boarding area.
Sat and read, children drew, had a little wander round the tiny duty free shop, watched the planes take off and land before we boarded our plane about 2.40pm Flight was on time and not too busy, took off at 3.00pm. Had a very good flight with friendly captain and crew, landed an hour and fifteen minutes later! at 5.15pm (with hours difference)
RS transport was there with a sign at the exit (exactly as planned) to pick us up to take us to the hotel, took quite a while (about an hour) as lots of traffic. Cost us 70 euros, but so convenient not having to find busses etc.
Arrived at the hotel the Holiday Inn (will do a separate report on the hotel in much more detail) just outside disney, which looked very nice and spacious, no wait at reception so booked straight in and got our key cards.
Went in lift up one floor, room number 204 halfway down the corridor so nice and close to reception, restaurants etc.
Room was small (as expected) but clean, comfortable with good storage and children loved the bunk beds with curtain going around.
Didnt unpack wanted to get straight back out so went and waited for shuttle bus which came within 10 minutes for the short drive to the parks etc (less than ten minutes I think, I kept forgetting to time it exactly!) Didnt make it in time to get into the parks to get our passports as the office shuts at 7.00pm but did enquire at guest relations and they said get day tickets tomorrow which we decided to do.
We then had a walk around Disney village looked at the different menus and into all the shops, bought an autograph book and pen for the children!
Walked to the lake and saw the balloon which wasnt working as too windy!
We had a meal booked at café Mickeys for 8.30pm so wandered there (others were being turned away as full) got shown straight to our window table great view overlooking the lake and the balloon!
Had a great meal, lovely atmosphere with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Prince John, Tigger and Captain Hook who came out at different times so got lots of photos and autographs.
Meal wise I had Pinocchio's Pasta which was pasta with chicken and broccoli etc which was very nice. Hubby had a starter of Fantasia Mushrooms (Garlic mushrooms) followed by Hunny Pot Barbecue ribs with chips etc and we shared a bottle of wine. I had a dessert of crème Brule which had dried fruit in, it was okay would have been better just plain. Kids had burger meal and pasta meal, with a buffet dessert. They also got to keep the bottles their drinks came in.
A lovely meal but the food really takes a back seat as the focus really is on the characters, they spent a lot of time going round the tables, signing autographs and posing for photos, Mickey was really great when the music was playing dancing around. Even the waiters were up on a table dancing.
Total cost of our meal was 107 euros so about £75.00
Then it was back on the shuttle, got the kids to bed, unpacked then bed as it was gone 11 (although it would have only been 10 at home)!
A wonderful start to our holiday.
