ive been on this ride at least 10 times if not more over the years. I went on it last week. I'll have to say I guess I've never really paid close attention. The folks in front of us asked a CM about a fruit bearing tree to our left. I knew it was a jackfruit. We had several trees in our front yard growing up When it's ripe, it has a very distinctive taste. Next to it was a breadfruit. The signs were mixed up. The CM also told the folks up front it tasted like bread. Neither fruit tastes like bread. Breadfruit tastes closer to potatoes. It does have a breadlike consistency when cooked. I kept my mouth shut.

LoL I guess thats what happens when you know more about a certain topic than the person talking about the topic. I grew up riding horses and have been riding horses for over 20 years now...there was a time when I could not watch any horse type movies bc of misinformation, bad riding, or the clever "horse switcheroo" LOL, now of course I just take it with a grain of salt and just look for the story line behind all that crap, lol...its actually pretty enlightening

There was a CM on your boat? I rode that ride last week, too, but there was no CM talking about the fruit. I'm confused; maybe I missed something.

The CMs were "tending" the plants. The boats go so slow you could actually talk to them.

This one of my and my son's favorite rides in all of Disney. If it ever closed I would boycott Disney. lol It is the most relaxing ride and it's not 2-3 minutes and it's over. Love it.
Me too! I've actually toyed with the idea of doing the "Behind the seeds" tour, but I don't wanna walk around, I wanna ride the boat.

Bread like consistency that tastes like potato? That has my attention!

This is my husband's favorite ride as well.:)

Love living with the land, and planning on doing the Behind the Seeds tour this summer.

The tour is awesome! One of the best "deals" in WDW. I highly recommend it if you enjoy Living With The Land; so much information "behind the scenes" and you have a personal tour guide to answer your questions...with plenty of time to ask more questions if you question her knowledge. ::yes:: :tink:

Me, too. I will ride LWTL over anything else, except Everest, any day...

Is the ride really hot in the summer? (just wondering if it's like a greenhousee)

I have never noticed it hot in there.

Do the Behind the Seeds! We have done a couple tours at WDW and we LOVED this one. The price and length were great. Very enjoyable time. Course we love the ride part too!

Another vote for Behind the Seeds! We did this as a present to DH for our anniversary and we both LOVED it! Didn't think it was too hot at all, and the size of the group was perfect! Living with the Land has always been one of our favorites, now we love it even more!

I can't claim a whole lot of firsthand experience with greenhouses, but there are many plants that suffer in extreme heat even with plenty of moisture. So I'd expect them to constrain the temperature somewhat. As others have said, you'll notice the humidity, but it won't be intolerable.
