Haven’t seen a thread posted here…seems like the attraction has been down for over a week, with no information being released by Disney.

thoughts on why the ride is down? Maybe it’s just technical issues?

I love this attraction and I hope it's open when I'm there next week. I also hope that they aren't going to close it permanently. surely not with what little there is to do in Epcot Future World at this time.

I read somewhere that they may be adding restraints to the boats because some dingle berry decided to hop out and pick a cucumber.

I don't know how true that is.

That sounds more logical.

Well, nobody knwos for sure. They do need to keep idiots from getting out of the boat apparently. That's why they added a lap-bar to Splash - it's not needed for safety. It would be weird to have restraints on something as docile as Living with the Land! Maybe they can add a drop? 🤣

Or just publicly flog the idiots. Liberty Square still has the stockade.

My fingers are crossed it's open next week when we will be there. It's one of my favorite rides and one of the few we can take the baby on. I'm not really holding out much hope since if it's a roof leak it will probably take longer and if it's any other non-scheduled mechanical issue, again will probably take longer.

Or otsr restraints

I have it on good authority that Bob Paycheck has ordered all the fruits and vegetables on the ride to be replaced with plastic plants, and the horticulturists are to be replaced with the planters that were briefly used on 3 Caballeros.

When asked why, his reply: "Saving money...errr...I mean providing the guests' an enhanced experience, or course!" :)

I heard that Disney is going to start charging people $25/person per day to pick your own food from Living with the Land and deliver it to restaurants. This will in fact be the only way to eat at a select number of Disney’s most popular restaurants. Of the new initiative, Chapek said, “This will give guests an enhanced experience by integrating them even more into the magical process of producing the food they love at our restaurants. We’re finally pulling back the curtain and letting our guests participate directly in producing the magic!”

The bots are all in the loading area which makes me think it isn’t restraints.

You guys need to stop saying things like this - what if Bob Chapek reads it? Normally I would think these ideas were too ridiculous for Disney to even consier - but I wouldn't want to test that theory these days!

Someone didn't hop off and grab a cucumber?
It is true that a woman got off and tried to grab a cucumber. It didn’t come off the vine as easily as she expected and she fell getting back on the boat. People who were in the boat said several people in her group got off the boat several times, starting at the farm scene. Video of the incident was posted on Twitter.

It’s apparently not true that the ride is closed to add restraint. If they were going to do that, they would either have a scheduled shutdown or install them at night after park closing.
