I would love to join DVC. Although it is impossible to recieve any information regarding membership in Washington State, due to regulations regarding time shares. Any thoughts. Or am I just out of luck. I thought about making the purchase on our next visit to WDW this summer. Except they still can't send me any mail. :( WAAAAAA.

How about getting a Post Office box in a registered state and let them mail the information there??

Just a thought.

Know how you feel - I'm in California and the paperwork for our state just went through and we bought this week.

Hopefully Washington won't be too far behind.

Did you ever think about buying resale? I know a lot of people have done so. Depending on the resort you want to buy into.

Rules on this are very strict. If not registered in your state, Disney is prohibited from even giving you the time of day while you are in Washington if it relates in any way to the timeshare. Setting up a PO Box in another state might work to get info. But without going to another state where it is registered, you will have to wait until you go to WDW.

Another alternative to setting up a PO box in another state: Do you have any friends/relatives in another state? Disney could send the info to them in your name and they could forward it to you. Probably wouldn't help a whole bunch for buying, but a least you could get the video and book.

dismagictroy!

We live in Seattle and had the same problem!

WE bought resale.......and saved quite a bit of money in the process. There are quite a number of companies that do DVC resales. WE just contacted them with what we were looking for and waited for a reply. WE got one in about a week or so......since closing in November, we've recieved all the typical mailings from Disney, including 2 guidebooks and various other things...our points were posted within 5 days and we made ressies a few days later, prior to the actual recording of the deed!

Anyway, good luck!

Also in the Seattle area! and also bought resale through the timeshare store.

My in-laws took the tour for us before we bought. They gave us all the information that was passed on to them and gave us there opinion of DVC. Being longtime timeshare owners and having attended a couple of other presentations there feedback was helpful.

We would have take it ourselves, but on the trip before we bought we hadn't even thought of buying, it all came to us once we got home and they were on the way to WDW shortly after us.

Shout if you have questions.
:D

The best information on DVC isn't sent by DVC anyway. I was VERY disappointed in the pre-sales information from DVC. The best information is here, or at www.mouseplanet.com, or some other sites. They should be able to give you all the information you need to make a decision and start looking for a resale contract.
