Livin on a Fantasy!! September 29, 2012 Disney Fantasy

With the rush of sign-ups for the FE list over the last week we're over 100 participants. I know there was a question of splitting the list before, but I wonder now if people would like to split the list up into 2 groups? Then the cut off could be extended for a bit longer...maybe?

Thoughts?

Just a thought and I'm new here so I'm not 100% sure how this works but what if you divide the list like you said into two groups. One could be for adults that want to participate and one could be for just kids.

I already have my FE gifts and have enough for all of the families that have replied so far, so I am ok with not splitting. Don't mind if we do, but I don't feel it's necessary. I do think we need to cut it off though and not let anyone else join. Hate to be exclusive, but I think at some point we have to do it. I am getting excited to see what everyone made and feel like I'd be missing out on half the fun if we split!

I also have all my FE gifts ready. Maybe we could make the cutoff date 8/29. Which gives everyone a month to prepare their FE gifts. We already have 99 people in on our FE list (32 staterooms). I have enough FE gifts for 100 people.

We had previously discussed two different cut-off dates for FE sign-ups. One was 8/15, which was 6 weeks out, and the other was something like 4 weeks out. I'm good with an 8/29 cut-off. =)

One more FE question and then I think I'm ready to get these together. Is it okay to do one gift per family and just put stuff in the gift bag everyone can use or should it be one per person?

Which ever way you want to do it is okay :)

Sorry for my math error guys :) and if it caused more problems that helping. I realized after I posted that some people would probably be more organized than me and may actually have things all together already :)

I can put a dry erase board on our door for any changes. We are in 7690.

:thumbsup2 ... what does everyone else think?

No prob ;)

I think a dry erase board on Lori's room for changes is a good idea.

I'm ok with an 8/29 cutoff date, too.

I am doing one gift per family, not per person. I have heard of people doing it both ways. This is our first FE and first Disney cruise, and it just seemed like a good way to ease into it. :)

thanks, lori, for volunteering to put the dry erase board up! sounds good to me. so any changes to rooms - folks can just come and notify others via your board = great idea. (room 7690).

i'm good with the 8/29 cut off date, too.

also. just in case anyone needs it and hasn't bookmarked it - the fe list link that sandy (aka gometros) created is:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...3c&output=html

and this is the fe list link (with the age details) that nonniepaddie made using that info:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...oWWJDQUE#gid=0

As far a splitting the fe group - whatever is decided is fine with me - but I already have my fe gifts done and I have made enough for 100 people. I will be giving a gift for each person (adult and child).

I agree with those who say there should be a cut off date. I think 8/29 sounds good.

Just my 2 cents.....

Poor Kelly is probably getting LOTS of reach outs and PMs about that cabana... I'm willing to bet she's wishing she'd never posted that she might not want it! :duck:

We've been checking daily to get one, too, and based on some of the posts out there, it is one hot ticket item! Good luck to us both! :cool1:

I know most of you have kids, and but if anybody is looking to share a cabana on Serendity Bay, Judy and I have one to ourselves and would consider sharing.

Lori beat me to the dry erase board, and so we'll go with her stateroom. I have one idea though. I we're in 7572, which I believe is more centrally located, and would that make things any easier?

One thing I've been negligent about is following up on grouping those who wanted to link dining. I need to get on that asap. Do I call DCL directly or there another number I should call?

We changed our minds and want to sign up for the FE Exchange! I think you should not split up the list. I think it will be fun to see all of the gifts!

After the 29th, will someone make their Fish Extender list "Official." I'm not totally sure which list to use and want to make sure I don't leave anyone out.

Also, I am ok with either room hosting the white board for a list of changes. Just tell me where to look!

Are there ever cabin changes after the first day?

Sandy, that's fine with me if you host the dry erase board. :-)

Also, I agree that tomorrow should be the final cut off for the FE.

I've seen a trip report or two mention they've changed cabins due to a plumbing/mechanical problem. But very rarely.

I just realized I don't have anything besides the flight and actual cruise booked :scared1: I've done lots of planning but haven't actually booked the pre-cruise hotel, the car to get us to port and back, any excursions and the hotel post-cruise. I also have to make sure mom and dad's reservation is linked with ours.

Does anyone know why our time at Costa Maya is so limited? I've been wondering if there was a reason why it's only a half day?

sandy,
our room number is 6530 category 05D on deck 6. would you update the FE list? what is your opinion about the dolphin swim at grand cayman? i am thinking about it for us (girls are 9 and 6) and me and DH. is it worth the cost? thoughts?

is the formal night only on 7 day cruises? i don't remember formal nights for our 4 day cruises. :confused3

According to "The Passporter's Field Guide to the Disney Cruise Line", The Captain's Gala is only on 7+ night cruises. I'm fairly certain that our formal night will be on Sunday, Sept. 30th, while we are at sea.:boat:
:offtopic: I hope that I have included everybody that has expressed interest in participating in the FE gift exchange, on my spreadsheet. If anybody finds an error on my spreadsheet, please let me know about it.
