Livin on a Fantasy!! September 29, 2012 Disney Fantasy

Hello! I wanted to join the group.

We do have a cabana booked on Castaway Cay but I am not sure if I am going to keep it or not since it is only us.

Welcome aboard! Please let me know if you decide to get rid of the cabana. My daughter (TrojanJulez) and I want one. There are 6 of us. I've been checking several times a day hoping one would become available. No luck so far lol

Oops! Sorry, I see someone asked about the cabana before me. I answered before I read the rest of the posts.

I also vote to split the FE group. I have no idea how you figure out who goes in which group since this is my first Disney cruise.

In regards to splitting the FE list, how many total cabins are we talking about? I ask because I think many people do one item per cabin (or perhaps one per cabin with adults only and then one item per kid) so the number might not be as bad as it sounds...? :earsboy:

Either way, I'm just happy to get to participate! This is our third DCL cruise but our first time doing the fish extender... So, don't forget us down on deck 2, guys! :)

Which brings me to one more question--what's the latest we can update/change room numbers for the list? What about changes made on board? I'm assuming anything changed after boarding means you're out of luck and will have to either leave your FE at the door of your old room if possible and go check there or maybe leave a note on the door saying where your new room is...? Is there protocol for this stuff?! :rotfl:

Thanks in advance!

Poor Kelly is probably getting LOTS of reach outs and PMs about that cabana... I'm willing to bet she's wishing she'd never posted that she might not want it! :duck:

We've been checking daily to get one, too, and based on some of the posts out there, it is one hot ticket item! Good luck to us both! :cool1:

That explains it. You're right. On the Magic and the Wonder, it is the first night in AP. On the Fantasy, there are two shows; one is an interaction with Crush amd the other is the animated drawings.

I believe the Radisson has a sail and park package.

Thanks Sandy....I completely forgot the Fantasy had the Crush interaction.

And yes, we've used the Radisson before. It's very close to the port. You can leave your car parked there and catch their shuttle. Make sure you make an "appointment" for the shuttle. It's been a few years since we stayed there, but I recall they can only fit so many and will assign a time for you to leave. So check and see if this has changed or not.

Hi, Kelly... Welcome to the thread! I just joined myself last week (we had to change our cruise from the Sept 22 sailing due to travel with work) and am catching up as well.

I have two questions for you...

You mentioned bringing your mom. I've been debating having my mom come along as well--currently it's my husband, Brian, and three-year old son, Roman--but I've been wondering about the logistics. I love my mom dearly :littleangel: but it's still my mom :scared:... I love the idea of giving her this great vacation and getting to spend some wonderful time with her but I'm worried it might be a little too stressful for our "vacation"! That said, my little boy doesn't go to pre-school yet so the benefit of getting to leave him with Grandma (that's not as bad as it sounds--she lives a few hours away so they LOVE getting to see each other!) to spend some wonderful adult time with my husband might outweigh any stress... I'm sure you have a wonderful relationship with your mother and have no problems whatsoever :rolleyes1 but I would love to hear your feedback if you've done this before.

Second question is about your cabana... I know you're still undecided and I'm assuming that's because you originally had more people traveling with you. We've been trying to get one since we were able to book and, if you have any interest, we'd be happy to share it with you and share cost...? (Again, it's me, my husband, and our 3.5 year old. And maybe my mom. :) And we're all very cool!) And if you DO decide to cancel it, can we take it off your hands?! :) Don't give it up yet... I know the second you release it into the stratosphere it will be snatched up within the minute! :p

Let me know and, again, welcome to the board!
April

Hello! I will ask everyone what they want to do about the Cabana and I will let you know! I really want to keep it. How many people can we have in it? I definitely won't cancel it without someone here taking it. There were two available when we booked! We are in 6 and 17 was available as well.

In regards to my mom. We get along fine - ha ha. Not perfect! She actually lives with us and takes care of our daughter so she deserves a vacation as much as we do. We did do this on a 4 night cruise on the dream earlier this year and it worked well. We have Emmy signed up for the nursery but she will probably take her one night so we can go "out."

Does anyone else with little kids have main dining? I probably need to call and request a table for 4. This will be our first cruise with main dining. We tried late with her on the Dream and it was NOT fun!!! lol

I have it at 31 cabins; 62 adults, 36 kids...but I think I'm missing one or two.

I've seen room number changes up to the last few days, and then if someone changed at the port they would leave a note on their old door (I'm assuming because it wouldn't be used by someone else at that point :) ).

Could also do an update at the meet up, if we're doing one.

Yeah, I'm not sure how to go about it either :) But if that's the way we want to go I'll give it a try.

We are going to try to upgrade at the port (I think) so I'm not going to sign up. However I may just leave treats in them!!

Thank you for this update !!!! Helps me to plan. I also am wondering if there is a meet-up on the ship ?! :)

Hi everyone!

We just booked last night. Will go back and catch up on who's sailing and what's happening but wanted to say Hi first :)

I am Bobbie and am traveling with my boyfriend Dave and our two littlest children. Matthew is 3 1/2 and Daniel is 2. We also have 4 college age kids who won't be with us on this one

We have had a bit of a rough year. Two second trimester pregnancy losses within 6 months, Noah was born sleeping at 16 weeks on Jan 31 and Sarah was born sleeping at 17 weeks 3 days on August 2. We are so ready to be cruising again! This is my 23rd cruise and Dave's 21st. This is only our second Disney though. But we loved our Magic cruise! Daniel has cruised once and Matthew 3 other times.

I am looking forward to getting to know everyone and seeing what is planned. Time to make some magnets and a fish extender!! Can't wait... we loved every second of our last Disney cruise. You know when you sit there and try and think what would be your ultimate cruise. You think of a cruise line and a ship that would be ideal. Well if asked... this would be it for me! I am beyond thrilled to be cruising this line and ship. Hope everyone is having a great week :)

Our facebook's are Bobbie Damico and David Darrohn if there are any FBers out there who want to "friend request" us. I did request to join the group :)

Happy planning!

Hi Bobbi ! I missed your post....was going back this morning and catching up.
So sorry for your losses. I am a Delivery Room nurse and help patients cope with losing their babies quite often. I had a 16 week loss myself many years ago. It is hard. Hugs to you.
Welcome to the group as well  And we're friends on FB too :)

Welcome HollandmillerFamily and all the other recent additions  :woohoo:

How to keep track of cabin changes  I think I read somewhere on another FE conversation, either the organizer (or a volunteer as gometros has done a lot so far :thumbsup2) would offer to become a central information centre and place a dry erase board (or magnetic sheet) on their door where one could note any cabin changes/upgrades etc - and others can see who moved where.

Currently we are on holidays (yes, a holiday before another holiday :hyper:) so cannot check to see how many cabins have been added since the last time ... we're fine however which way the group wants to go with the FE list ... DW and I have already committed and mostly packaged (sorry, but our packaging will likely be ziploc bags as we have two FEs to plan for so any type of wrapping went right out the window :stir:) all of our FE gifts for this cruise (I hear the rest of our FE surprises finally arrived but have to wait till next week when we get home to check them out :goodvibes) so we will be doing everyone, including the late additions ... but don't feel pressured to exchange anything with us if it is too much as we totally understand how things are now today ::yes::

Whew ... that was a mouthful ... :crazy2:

So far, I have counted 32 staterooms: 63 Adults, 36 Kids. Total of 99!!

I can put a dry erase board on our door for any changes. We are in 7690.

Well, here is my opinion on the FE's, if we do decide to split...I have my gifts already made, specific to each age group, & my gifts are bagged and tagged with the individual's names on them. I would like to suggest that we have a Group A and Group B (we can name the groups something more fun, of course) but if we could keep one group, even if it's a bit larger of the people that have been in for a while. If some people want to volunteer

...If some people want to volunteer to move from Group A (originals) to keep things more even, maybe we could offer that option. Again, just an idea.

this is our 3rd/4th disney cruise - but our first time participating in the fe - so i'm all for letting the more "seasoned" fe pros decide on whether or not to split (and how to do so).

i'm okay either way.

also. just in case anyone needs it and hasn't bookmarked it - the fe list link that sandy (aka gometros) created is:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AsixOVxYOkSbdFFycTJxY0thUjduTDR0ck5wWUhwX3c&output=html

and this is the fe list link (with the age details) that nonniepaddie made using that info:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ai0s8WeQSkISdDVSamxMbnpwX3NmdjBTZW1oWWJDQUE#gid=0

thanks to the both of them, i'm not *completely* lost.

So, I'm looking at the list and I'm only showing 4 families added to the list - that's not so much really. I can certainly make that work without needing a split. So, whoever makes the decisions, I'm good with whatever.

Btw, I FINALLY got my docs today! I have read them front to back twice. It's feeling very official! Going shopping tomorrow for some cruisewear. Hubby went out & bought a new camera today. I think this excitement is catching!

I already have my FE gifts and have enough for all of the families that have replied so far, so I am ok with not splitting. Don't mind if we do, but I don't feel it's necessary. I do think we need to cut it off though and not let anyone else join. Hate to be exclusive, but I think at some point we have to do it. I am getting excited to see what everyone made and feel like I'd be missing out on half the fun if we split! :)

Also, I know someone asked (but I forget who!) about kids in main dining. We will be in main dining with our 5 year old son and almost two year old daughter. We are traveling as part of a bigger group (11 cabins total) and several of them also have young kids. We are all in main dining.
