Livin on a Fantasy!! September 29, 2012 Disney Fantasy

What's everyone doing in Grand Cayman? We haven't figured that one out yet. We are set for the other ports, but don't know what to do there. Whatever it is, it has to be baby friendly (she'll be almost two).

I never know if I'm answering the same person who asked the question on FB, so pardon if I'm repeating myself :hyper:

I'm planning on staying on the ship on GC. We were there on 2003 and did Stingray City with Captain Marvin's. I'd rather stay on board and take advantage of the quiet ship (and hopefully no lines on the aquaduck) than deal with the tenders. Judy may or may not go ashore for a bit for her favorite activity, which is shopping.

My daughter put our room and her room together on the fe list. I would like to have that changed. Rm 8520 should be seperate from 8512.
8520: Disneysince1982 - Jim, Barbara, Hannah (17) and Alyssa (6)
Alyssa celebrating birthday - will be (7)
8512: sarahndipity stays the same

We are so excited to be part of the fe group. This is our first cruise and so excited that it is on the Disney Fantasy!
Thanks!
Barbara

I made the updates and put you in a new row right below your daughter.

My docs came today. Woohooo! We also just got the option to do a private (with the group we are traveling with) catamaran tour out to Stingray City and Coral Gardens. I think we'll probably do that.

I've read a lot about Stingray City but haven't heard of Coral Gardens. Any thoughts? Any reasons NOT to do either one with an almost two year old?

My daughter (TrojanJulez) heard from our TA today that our docs are in. She will try to pick them up tomorrow. We're to excited to have to wait for them to be mailed.

Past cruisers: I am confused and need your help. I know I've asked some of this before, but I keep getting conflicting different answers.

If we eat in Remy and/or Palo, what are the dinner options for our kids? Some people have told us that we have to feed them before and others have said they can eat in the kids club at 5:00. Does the kids club really provide dinner? What about the nursery? Also, if they DO eat in their respective clubs, what will the menu be? My son (5) has a lot of allergies so we have to know the ingredients of everything he eats.

If you had to choose between Remy and Palo, which would you choose and why? Does Remy really take 3-4 hours? What makes it take so long?

A couple of other questions: We are considering splitting up (DH eats in Remy with friends, I eat in MDR with kids) but I still want to take formal pictures of us all dressed up, since it will be on formal night. Will we be able to coordinate photos before dinner? What times are the photographers there? I doubt we could wait till after dinner, since I would likely put the kids to bed while he is still at his 4 hour dinner!

Also, I saw that the AP dining room has a cool night where the drawings come to life. Does that happen the first time you eat in AP or the second? I'd hate for my son to miss that because we stuck him in kids club. Don't know our dining rotation yet.

Ok, last question: what's the show on formal night (night 2)? Is it one of the big production numbers?

Hi !
I can help you with most of your questions. My kids are late teens and college ages so not sure about the meal arrangements on Remy/Palo night.

But..yes...there are MANY photo ops prior to dinner on formal night. All over the ships....many in main Guest Service lobby area.

AP does the show on the 1st seating !

Alladin is the show on formal night....here is link to recent Navigators :

Oh....if I had to choose.....I'd choose Palo. Remy seems like almost too much food for me (pricier too and considering the cost of the cruise and all the great food offered in regular dining rooms)....and more formal. Hubby and I are not real formal people. But we love Palo's. I've only heard good things about Remy's though.....

Maria, I'm confused. I just read on another thread that the first night at AP is Crush and the last night in AP is the show? :confused3

Hello! I wanted to join the group. We were travelling with a few families so I wasn't going to sign up for the group, but today the last family cancelled due to medical reasons so it will only be my family cruising.

We have my mom, my husband, myself, and my daughter who is 1. We have two family oceanview cabins on deck 8.

We do have a cabana booked on Castaway Cay but I am not sure if I am going to keep it or not since it is only us. Still pending that one.

This is our first sailing on Fantasy and will be our 8th Disney cruise. This will be my daughter's third cruise. We have been on the dream twice so we are excited to see the differences on this ship.

I will try to catch up on the thread!

Kelly

Hi, Kelly... Welcome to the thread! I just joined myself last week (we had to change our cruise from the Sept 22 sailing due to travel with work) and am catching up as well.

I have two questions for you...

You mentioned bringing your mom. I've been debating having my mom come along as well--currently it's my husband, Brian, and three-year old son, Roman--but I've been wondering about the logistics. I love my mom dearly :littleangel: but it's still my mom :scared:... I love the idea of giving her this great vacation and getting to spend some wonderful time with her but I'm worried it might be a little too stressful for our "vacation"! That said, my little boy doesn't go to pre-school yet so the benefit of getting to leave him with Grandma (that's not as bad as it sounds--she lives a few hours away so they LOVE getting to see each other!) to spend some wonderful adult time with my husband might outweigh any stress... I'm sure you have a wonderful relationship with your mother and have no problems whatsoever :rolleyes1 but I would love to hear your feedback if you've done this before.

Second question is about your cabana... I know you're still undecided and I'm assuming that's because you originally had more people traveling with you. We've been trying to get one since we were able to book and, if you have any interest, we'd be happy to share it with you and share cost...? (Again, it's me, my husband, and our 3.5 year old. And maybe my mom. :) And we're all very cool!) And if you DO decide to cancel it, can we take it off your hands?! :) Don't give it up yet... I know the second you release it into the stratosphere it will be snatched up within the minute! :p

Let me know and, again, welcome to the board!
April

We are excited to be joining you all on this cruise. I will be sailing with dh and our 10 yr old son.

:)

I want to make sure I understand the fish extender activity. My friend has sailed on two Disney cruises and said the FE was different both times. The first one included adults and kids, the second one was just kids and one had a dollar limit but i dont remember which one she said. Can someone please tell me how this FE will work.

Thanks

Okay one more question. Can anyone recommend a hotel by the port that has a shuttle and let's you leave your vehicle there while you sail?

Uhhh oh.....I think I might be basing this on my Magic experience :confused3 Sorry !

That explains it. You're right. On the Magic and the Wonder, it is the first night in AP. On the Fantasy, there are two shows; one is an interaction with Crush amd the other is the animated drawings.

I don't recall what the cut off was for the FEs, but you can add your information by clicking on the link in my signature.

I believe the Radisson has a sail and park package.

I signed us up this afternoon.
When will we know if we made the cut off for the FE?

The Country Inn and Suites on Astronaut Blvd has a cruise package that includes a shuttle to and from the port and parking. It also includes breakfast the morning you leave for the cruise. (doesn't include breakfast when you get back).

With the rush of sign-ups for the FE list over the last week we're over 100 participants. I know there was a question of splitting the list before, but I wonder now if people would like to split the list up into 2 groups? Then the cut off could be extended for a bit longer...maybe?

Thoughts?

Only 93 days left!!! :cool1: On our past Disney cruises, the group has done rubber bracelets for the cruise. Would anyone be interested in these? I would be willing to order and distribute bracelets if there is enough of an interest. The cost would be $1.00 per bracelet.

Do you still have bracelets? If so what do they say or look like. :-)

Do you find it easy to get a shuttle back you the hotel when you get off the ship? I was worried it might take awhile to get on the shuttle so I was considering parking at the port. Any thoughts

There will be plenty of bracelets available. I just ordered them this week and hope to have them next week and will post a picture when they come in. I ordered a black bracelet with res writing saying "Disney Fantasy Sept. 29 - Oct. 6, 2012". If you would like some, please let me know how many and I will add you to my list.

I think splitting it is a good idea. 100 is a lot of people in my opinion.
